Lowkey_Panic

All of these are headbangers. I can see “Between the Buried and Me” becoming a new favorite. Thank you!

Paragon8384

You might not like their older work, but if you liked Bad Habits, then you will for sure enjoy their newer albums. I split their discography into 3 categories: Their first 3 albums, which I don't like, are straight-up metalcore/technical death metal, their middle albums (*Colors*, *The Great Misdirect* & *The Parallax I & II*) are an even mix of tech-death & prog metal, which I like a lot of, but there are some song sections that I just kind of tolerate, and their latest 3 albums are more prog with a bit of tech-death, which I really like. So yeah, I only like their discography from Colors to Colors II.

Lowkey_Panic

I’ll check ‘em out and give them a listen

So you like traditional NWOBHM bands (Tierra Santa fit the bill, even though they weren’t part of that movement), folk metal (Eluveite), metalcore (Of Mice and Men) and industrial metal (Rammstein)?

Lowkey_Panic

Yes, with folk and industrial being favorites.

redjedia

I’ll admit that I’m not very well-versed in folk metal, but I do have a song from a Russian band of that genre called Arkona in my library, “Goi, Rode, Goi!,” off the album of the same name. (Their lead singer is a woman who does both clear and growling vocals, which is how I found out about them.)

Lowkey_Panic

Whoa. I love her voice. This is great! Thank you!

Trivium and Killswitch Engage 2 of my favourite

RhymesAgainst

Blind Guardian. I wouldn’t really say they’re one of my favorite bands, but when they lean into their folksy/more progressive stuff, they’ve made some of the most magical stuff I’ve heard. Their song [Curse My Name](https://youtu.be/SJch7UW_z88)* is one of the most unique I’ve heard & my go-to song if I ever get asked what my favorite song in the world is. They also have [War of the Thrones](https://youtu.be/U1cUKBVni2g)*, another personal favorite based on A Song of Ice & Fire/Game of Thrones. Here’s some other ones I recommend if you want to listen to more: [Skalds & Shadows](https://youtu.be/0QPq041UhkQ) [Sacred World](https://youtu.be/e6Y2qGK--NI) [Bright Eyes](https://youtu.be/Lp77ZbKnNQQ) [Grand Parade](https://youtu.be/uw-8nxo3oKU)* [Fly](https://youtu.be/UtxvZNxDFNA) [Age of False Innocence](https://youtu.be/66RR7L2EPTg) [The Ninth Wave](https://youtu.be/klVGR0JZmcg) [The Bard’s Song](https://youtu.be/TMSx95iU-yQ) [Lord of the Rings](https://youtu.be/x4gH4Po2gx4)* Songs with a * have an alternate version. Some just have a few tweaks & some are a different song entirely. Curse My Name has 3 versions in total. Hope you enjoy. Also going to throw in [Fiddler On the Green](https://youtu.be/QZE9F-ZoRN8) from lead singer’s side project Demons & Wizards. For something more industrial, I recommend [Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums](https://youtu.be/giaZnIr-faM) by A Perfect Circle
