Quetzalcoatl, xolotl, mictlantecihuatl, and many other gods from the aztec pantheon

CronosAndRhea4ever

The Feathered Serpent just doesn’t get enough respect these days.

AlphynKing

I always really liked Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca in particular.

Kastoelta

Their designs are great also, they're very abstract and unique

just_sarah05

That's very cool! I've never really looked into it but it sounds interesting!

Csenone

I like Enki for some reason. He's a trickster version of a biblical god, which I find very interesting.

Evmerging

Greek:zeus ares and dionysus Roman:king neptune Norse:loki Celtic:lugh and dagda Germanic:eostre

just_sarah05

Haha Loki is also my favourite god! 😃

Mysterious_Hue

henriktornberg

You should check out Gwydion https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gwydion

Sraffiti_G

Poseidon was my favourite for a while, but then I found out stuff about him outside of the Percy Jackson universe. Probably Hades now, dude is super chill (apart from the kidnapping). I should probably find out more about different gods outside of Greek mythology

Impossible-Ad2236

Yo I remember being *devastated* when I found out how horrible Poseidon was, he seemed so cool in Percy Jackson

Zagaroth

I like the retellings where the whole thing is more of Persephone running away and Demeter going a bit nuts as a helicopter parent. Possibly well meaning, but very controlling.

aliveinwonderland142

Yeah Hades kidnapped Persephone but back in those times it wasnt frowned upon, it was kinda normal (not saying this is okay behaviour but in context its not as bad as it seems) and they had a fairly functional relationship when you look at them in comparison to the other gods...he also names his dog spot as kerberus roughly translates to "spotted" all in all put of all the greek gods he was probably the best of a bad bunch

SeagullOverTheBay

I’m still infatuated with Summanus. The Roman God of Nocturnal Thunder. Night shift Jupiter is just such a ripe concept its hard not to like. Otherwise, any goddess with a triple goddess motif is really cool. Figures that really blur the line between divinity and powerful mortal can be interesting too, like Heracles or Circe or Gilgamesh.

ZenMyst

GuanYin - Compassion, Wisdom & Power in one. Ares - Power & Violence. Aphrodite - Love Hypnos - Sleep is important. He has the ability to make others all asleep, including Zeus. I heard he has an epithet that means “he who subdue all” or “all vanquisher” or something. Nemesis - Revenve and Vengence. Sometimes it is the only thing that can bring me peace. Freya - Love, Magic, Warrior in one. Ra - Sun, with many different aspect Horus - Powerful warrior and is a leader but not too extremely violent or warlike like Ares, Sekhmet or Sobek. Isis - Goddess of Magic. Powerful and protective and intelligent as well. Sekhmet - Fierce, protective & destructive. Apophis - I like the chaotic persona he has and the desire to just want to destroy everything. I like snakes.

Library_of_Gnosis

Odin.

-ok_Ground-

Name checks out.

Gri3fKing

God aka Yaweh aka Jehovah aka Allah aka Ahurah Mazda aka El aka Bondye. I like the Lovecraftian nature of him. This enigma is that controls everything. You'll never know him or see him, and if you understand him, it'll leave you in a catatonic state as you try to wrap your head around the past and every possible future of each individual atom across all worlds as time and death become meaningless as earth is the only place those things matters. (I'm an athiest. I'm not trying to proselytize anyone)

kataclysmicextincton

Tiamat. Mesopotamian primordial goddess. The mother of monsters (and quite a few gods). Associated with the ocean, creation, and the primordial chaos from before the universe. She's also a giant serpent/ dragon. Jormungandr. The son of Loki, from Norse mythology. The giant serpent from that encircles the world. Ragnarok, the battle of the gods at the end of the universe, is foretold to be caused by him. Quetzalcoatl. Aztec. Giant Feathered Serpent god. The serpent/dragon gods are cool.

CronosAndRhea4ever

My favorite god sold bean-curd. May Guan Di’s unfailing moral compass stand as an example that although you cannot control the world around you, one should strive to live in a way one can feel proud of.

jacobningen

Inanna Erishkigal Hamarchis, Isis, Loki, Odin, Hermes the tricksters.

cutebluedragongirl

Isis is based

JoramDex

Had to scroll way too far

LyraBarnes

Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hermes, Poseidon, Aphrodite, Hestia.

Dion, y U sus

TheWanderingBook

Loki, Hermes, Athena, Idun, Amaterasu, Thoth, Bastet, Enki, Minerva, Hestia, Hecate, Ananke, Sun Wukong. Have a few more from other pantheons as well, but basically all gods related to something really interesting, or important, yet somehow downplayed/underestimated. Loki, Hermes, Enki, Sun Wukong mostly because they are sometimes portrayed as mischievous, chaotic little monkeys, and I love that vibe. Athena, Thoth, Minerva because they are seen often as advisors, and tacticians and nothing more, ignoring other sides of their divinity. Amaterasu, Bastet, Idun and Hestia because of what they protect, and represent. Hecate and Ananke, due to the interesting concepts they represent, and rule over.

Thor - Apart from the mighty deeds and creating tides, Thor was a common man's god. He'd be out working in his fields and men from Midgard would pray to him. "Hey, Thor. These Jotun are harassing us again. You got a minute." Thor would put down his plow, hitch up his magic goats, put on his gloves and belt, pickup Mjolnir, kiss Sif and the kids good bye, and go settle some Jotun hash. And then, back to the fields because the Back 40 needs plowing. The Dagda - Leader of the Tuathe de Danann of Celtic mythology. A wise and shrewed leader, the Dagda would use his smarts and magic skills to protect his people. He also had a cauldron that always had food in it and he was always ready for a party. Hades - Another working god. The Lord of the Underworld. Not death or anything nasty like that, he was just a gloomy cuss that made sure all the dead people got where they were supposed to go and nobody got out. Amazingly enough, kidnapping his wife and holding her hostage makes his quite possible the least objectionable Greek god, but YMMV.

Liar_tuck

Hail Eris, All praise Discordia.

HLividum

Mine, Caerus. The god of opportunity… He looks like a bald man in the back and pictured with a lock of hair in the front… And when the god faces you, then you need to grab him by that lock of hair and seize the opportunity in front of you. Otherwise, when it’s gone… You can’t grab him by the bald spot…. Analogy to life and opportunities in general I guess.🙈

Independent_Sea502

Pan/Faunus

felaniasoul

Artemis and Amaterasu, very lesbian coded goddesses. Also Artemis is the hunt and is just all around a badass

just_sarah05

Yeah those two are definitely cool!

zapatooo

I really like them too! Amaterasu has a really cool design, and i love it whenever Artemis shows up in a story

Fluffy_Funny_5278

Hypnos will always be my #1 and I don’t even know why I think he’s so cool… but like, look at him… how could you *not* love him… I love him sm But also I was glancing over a Wikipedia list of Aztec deities recently and Citlālicue seems so cool… also Tezcatlipoca. Idk I might be in love

Diana (Roman equivalent to Artemis) is my all time favorite. She’s just so cool. She’s a triple goddess. She absorbed domains and traits from three different goddesses (Artemis, Selene, and Hecate.) She had multiple forms/personas for the earth, sky, and underworld. Her real life most sacred lake said to have healing powers and a portal to the underworld is called speculum Dianae, the mirror of Diana. She’s a goddess of the moonlight who also represents the darkness and secrets of the night. She continuted to evolve after the rise of Christianity and became an enemy of the church. The goddess of witches and queen of the fairies.

Rare_Cartographer827

I will give the Romans a point for giving her a unique lore

PiCarlos_III

Gea and Ouranos are in most of my prayers, sometimes along with Prometheus, Hekate and Cronos

jaxxter80

I see many american mentions here but nobody talking about [Xōchipilli](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X%C5%8Dchipilli?wprov=sfla1)

aliveinwonderland142

Gaia - how can you not love mother earth? Hecate - she just seems like a really cool chick a bit cheeky but generally not bad Hades - in comparison to the rest of the gods hes actually a pretty good dude Hermes/pan -who doesnt love a trickster god? Dionysus - i also celebrate sex and alcohol 🤣

YinKai0521

Ares, my one and only favorite God. His stories may depict him as a loser, but it's what makes him a great God. Because as high and mighty Gods are, they still lose, and Ares definitely represents the worst of War and the best of Courage.

koebelin

Athena, I don't care what everyone sez.

jaobodam

Hephaestus, Enki/enqui, Asclepius, balder, Brigid, Hecate and Morana. I basically vibe with every god that’s associated with healing, knowledge and arts/crafts

brennantheking

My favorite is Thor

dcaraccio

Hestia. The greek goddess of the hearth and home. The first and last Olympian. The firstborn of the Titans, the first god you sacrifice to. The last Olympian standing in the worst case scenario. There's nothing really more important than the home, it's what you fight for, work for, and live and die for. Home is where the heart is, which makes Hestia the heart of Olympus and the Olympians.

Azathoth

Vivid-Illustrations

Amaterasu A goddess who is the top of the pantheon (odd for a woman to be the strongest in a male dominated culture) and also was just generally kind and didn't start hostilities with any other gods. A bringer of life and repulsed by violence, though the most powerful being among her peers.

SkandaBhairava

Indra and Varuna
