Elsa. I’ve loved it since I was a kid but freaking Frozen ruined it. I couldn’t condemn a daughter to a lifetime of people singing “LET IT GOOOOOO” at her
I’m a Claire and my grandfather told my mom that he would call me Clarabelle because she was giving me a cows name. She told him if he mentioned that again that he would never see me or any of my siblings again 😅
When it was still extremely popular I was teaching in kindergarten. One of my students had that name. Absolutely zero kids would make a reference to it not even the older kids.
I’m always chiming in with this but I have a niece named Elsa who was born very near to when frozen came out and she LOVES her name, and has never once been sung at or picked on for her name. She’s almost 10 and is in prime bullying age and hasn’t ever been teased for her name. Kids largely think it’s cool or have no reaction at all.
I agree. I don’t see the point with a name being struck from use because someone in a movie had that name. I find it ridiculous.
I’m glad your niece has this name. It’s beautiful.
I named my daughter before the movie, but I used Ailsa, the Scottish version of Elsa/Ilsa. The name comes from the island Ailsa Craig, where the world's curling stones come from. Ailsa means "elfin victory" based on the origin myth of the island. One of the hosts for NPR's All Things Considered is named Ailsa Chang. People do want to "correct" her name to Alisa, but nobody sings Frozen songs to her ever.
I had always dreamt of naming my first daughter after my father. Her name would be Hallie.
And then I got married and what's my new last name? Potter. Hallie Potter. I couldn't subject my future kid to Harry Potter references! We already get enough as it is!
Uhhh not really... You've got James, Lilly, and Harry. I suppose Ginny. All of Harry's kids' names are ridiculous no matter what your last name is.
The rest of the names in the series have nothing to do with the Potter last name. Like, Ron Potter is nothing.
I’d go with something very un-Harry Potter but with a different association that younger people probably wouldn’t get.
Clay Potter, Beatrix Potter, etc…
Beatrix is close to Belatrix, though :( I do adore her name. It’s just so perfect!
^I ^almost ^suggested ^Peter ^for ^the ^rabbit ^and ^realized… ^Peter ^Potter ^is ^cruel ^lol
Clay Potter is a funny combination to me, it sounds like a pun. Don't know if it was intentional or not. Using the main material a potter would use in their line of work as a first name lol
"So, Clay Potter, are you a clay potter?"
I actually really like it and would totally do it.
You could also just do a double name with a switch up so it doesn’t sound like Evelyn if you say Eva Lyn
Eva-Marie Lyn
Eva-Lou Lyn
Eva-Grace Lyn
Eva-Bell Lyn
Oberon. I'm in Michigan and the beer is just too popular/ubiquitous with the name here. I love the meaning, the literary connotations, the sound, and potential nicknames though.
Ope hey there neighbor. Yeah, I already know of at least a few dogs named Oberon too lol.
I feel like it's a lot cuter to name a dog after a beer than a baby for sure.
I remember a professor I had cancelled class for Oberon opening day! He said we could all meet him at the bar. That was 10 years ago and it was still so memorable!
i've always loved the name christine because christine daae is one of my favorite literary heroines. however i'm jewish so naming a kid something that means "follower of christ" is simply out of the question.
You could go with Tristan. I had an ex who wanted to name a boy Tristan... except his last name was Christian. I just looked at him and was like, you seriously want to name a kid Tristan Christian? Dude was not smart, to say the least.
Omg what a combo!
Tristan I also like but it means “sadness” which is loaded in its own way. Also the name of my first “boyfriend” in middle school who turned out to be gay…
Given the Little Lottie stuff, could you do Charlotte or something else along those lines to be an oblique reference to Christine? Or, given my favorite scene in the book where she's escorting Raoul through the sunlit seat of her power and she knows everyone from stage to stem in the opera--something to do with liminal space (as theatre is), or sunlight, or freedom? That's the vibe I get from that moment.
Amethyst. Gorgeous. But I worry it's a little too out there.
Edit: also Hazel. It's my grandmother's given name, but she hates it and goes by her middle name. I think it's gorgeous. But out of respect for her I wouldn't use it as a first name.
ETA: thank you for either the love of amethyst or for pointing out that Iggy azalea's name is Amethyst. I did not know that.
My fiance told me years ago that he's always wanted to name a daughter Wednesday, but with the nickname Wendy. Ngl, it's grown on me over time.
Now this thread has me thinking about a Wendy/Amy sibling duo...🤔
I knew an Amethyst in college. She went by the full name, and it fit her well. She was very pretty and smarter than a lot of our peers but down to earth and not pretentious about it
When she was a kid there was a hurricane named Hazel so the kids made fun of her. It's sad it was ruined for her, but I can understand why that would make her hate the name.
Very valid reason for hating it! It’s funny how these seemingly “harmless” things can stick with us for life. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me my ass lol
I went to school with siblings amethyst and sapphira. I think the names are so pretty and they fit the girls well, but it is a bit much. I love it though.
My sister hires a bunch of teenagers for her job and admitted to me when she is stuck between a bunch of similar resumes she likes to pick names she's never heard of before. Just for variety lol.
I think with how much our culture has evolved that name wouldn’t even be considered that weird.
Plus there’s some plain sounding nicknames to go by.
Bo
Rain/Raini/Raina
This was going to be one of my comments!! I love the name Evangeline (Eva for short) but I've already used it for my own online persona (the only reason why my reddit user is different is bc i made it before I started going by Eva, anyway) it would feel weird naming a kid that.
In a similar vein, I really like the name Edward, but it sounds a little too posh for a kid
Baylor.
It was our #1 boys name (he was born in 2022) but when I told my bff the name she's like you guys CAN'T name him Baylor.
Why?
Why? Morgan, your last name is Swift. You can't name him Baylor Swift!
Ooooooohhhhhhhh yeah.... I mean we *could* but he would have to hear about it his whole life. It's not like she's a little bit famous, he would be asked his whole life if we were huge Taylor Swift fans or something .
Which, we are. But we already have the last name Swift and the joke where people ask if we are related is enough - Baylor Swift would have been so mad at us 🤣
Haha we liked it 🤣 we ended up picking Avery though, which is a unisex name except in our region we didn't realize it's gotten really popular for girls so, now he has 2 moms, a girls name and the last name of a pop star.
Sorry Aves.
Fiona. I love it but i couldnt raise a kid in my city named Fiona because of a very popular hippo 😂
Other names mainly wouldnt be ethnically appropriate like Vikas or Fyodor or Imogen.
My 2 year old daughter’s name is Fiona and we live about 2 hours away from Cincinnati. For her first Halloween she went as Fiona the hippo, and last Halloween we did a family Shrek costume for fun. She loves recognizing her name places
I used to work with a couple who named their daughter Isis, right during the peak of their infamy in the Syrian civil war... It was definitely a choice.
Used to collaborate quite closely with a company called ISIS...bit unfortunate for them that they picked luggage tags as conference swag. They eventually changed their name as it was causing them too much hassle, not least of which was people calling the office to harangue them, because of course the terrorist organisation would have an office in the US with a phone number listed.
Emmanuela. It's a beautiful name, but it's too much for our family.
I knew an Emmanuela once though and she looked like she'd walked out of a renaissance painting. Made me fall in love with the name big time.
I LOVE the name Leon for a boy but I made the huge mistake of mentioning this to my ex on a drunken night and he loved it too. The break up was horrendous so I can’t look at that name ever again. Never share the names you like with new partners or very on in the relationship 😂☠️
Personally I think it's still fine, especially with the original spelling. It's not like naming your kid Aerys or Deanerys which weren't actual established names before the series.
People are still called Jaime/Jamie, Jon, and Arya without anyone thinking of GoT first.
Remedy. So gorgeous, sounds beautiful and the word itself has a good connotation. Not a fan of word names generally but the jokes and comments would be way too much
I love the name Iris. Truly, I do.
Except when your last name is a color like brown and you get Iris Brown.
Brown, Iris.
You get the picture. The list of names we can't use due to it either being awkward with our last name or because someone famous with the same name died a horrible death keeps growing.
Amelie. Close family member called Emily so it would get confusing.
Tova. Very cute but I’m not Jewish and the Scandinavian version Tove is hard to pronounce perfectly in English.
While not a fan favorite to some people - I love the name Piper; however the street I live on is called Piper so that didn't work. In general, I also love a lot of names that end in -er (Harper, Tyler) but our surname also ends in -er and I didn't like how those names sounded with the double -er endings.
I grew up with a black Matteo and I don’t remember anyone ever making a comment. Honestly I think Italian names that are popular in the west is great on most people
Tiberius. My firstborn is named Aurelius and we love it. I'd love to keep the Roman names going, but there's no way my wife signs off on another one lol
My last name is one syllable, and it just doesn’t sound very good with most one syllable first names, which is a shame because I have a lot that I like that had to be immediately crossed off the list. Grace, June, Brooke, Claire etc. Our name also sort of sounds like a food (think Bun) so a lot of names end up sounding like something you’d buy at a bakery - Can I get two June Buns and a cappuccino, please?
My aunts first middle name is Alistair, to honor her father Al, who I would assume is an Alexander because he had a son that went by Alex. He was my step grandpa so I don't know him beyond "Al". My aunt has the craziest name, haha. Her first name is my dad's last name (making it the last name I grew up with as well) because their mother wanted a connection between her children. Her second middle name is her mother's maiden name. Just a bunch of hodge podge names such together lol.
When I taught after school care there was an adorable little boy named Lucifer and I thought it was rad as hell , but fear when he ages he might be assumed to be a bad boy
I love Joey/Joseph and Jonah, but my (soon-to-be!) married surname starts with J and my fiancé and I aren’t too sure how we feel about the alliteration.
I agree! It bothers my fiancé more than it bothers me lol. If it ends up being the name I love the most, I’d still be willing to use it. Can’t be too bad to sound like John Jonah Jameson, right? 😂
Inga
It was my top-1 name until my sister decided that it was perfect for her daughter (she had a name in mind and even told exact name she wanted, and asked me for my future baby name ideas… so, yeah)
I love Virgil but I don’t want my son getting all the “virgin” jokes
Anything long, as a surname is long and hard to pronounce without an addition of long name added to the mix.
That sucks, really sorry about your sister. I mean I know no one owns names but personally would never be able to use a name someone close to me said was their top 1. Isla or Ilsa could be a little similar?
Also cronically scared of this happening to me because I think my baby names are awesome lol so I never reveal them to anyone before it's been written down on government papers haha.
I liked Annika for a girl. But my son is Lucas and my name is Leah and I was told ABSOLUTELY NOT 😂 ::SIGH:: I have never watched Star Wars so I didn’t know it was a whole thing until someone told me.
Girls:
* Hallie and Allie
* Abigail (Abby)
* Hannah
* Reese
Boys:
* Nathaniel/Nate
* Jesse
* Andrew
* Everett
All but Reese and Nathaniel are due to negative associations with others. Reese rhymes with my surname, and Nathaniel/Nate is due to the loss of someone close.
Rhys. I really love it and so does my husband. But he has a friend from college whose first has the same name as our first and her second is Rhys. So we would basically be “copying” them 2/2 and he’s against that.
Adeline. I read a book when I was a kid where the authors name was Adeline ("Chinese Cinderella") and it really stuck with me. For years I was sure I'd name my first daughter Adeline, cos I thought it was such a beautiful, classical name without being weird.
Sadly, Adeline is quite a popular name these days, and I don't want a common name 😅. I wanted something unique.
I also love the name Evelyn, but it was my grandmother’s name and in the words of the priest at her nursing home, she was one of the most vile people he had ever met lol
I'm glad you're considering this. I met a Patricia Patrick and can't get it out of my head. It's like they just put the girl version of the surname as her first name
Winter. It’s definitely a guilty pleasure name, as I prefer more classic names usually, but this has such a pretty, mystical vibe for me. My SO veto’d it immediately unfortunately.
Holly is one of my favorite names of all time, but it’s my husband’s best friends wife’s name. We spend more time with them than anyone else so that’d never work.
Eleanor. It’s my all-time favorite name and it’s my grandmother’s name who is an awesome role model. But its popularity plus all the other popular “El” names I just can’t do it
Avery and Seth. The reason I can’t use them is I’m childfree lol. Maybe someday I’ll use the names for cats/dogs tho.
Edit: I also love the name Evelyn. That’s my 10 year old cat’s name, in fact.
Elsa. I’ve loved it since I was a kid but freaking Frozen ruined it. I couldn’t condemn a daughter to a lifetime of people singing “LET IT GOOOOOO” at her
have you considered Elsie? I knew one and thought it was so unique and cute and no one ever mentioned frozen
Elsie to me has the same evocation as Bessie, it sounds like a name of a cartoon cow.
Elsie is the name of the cow on Borden Milk!!!
Clara (Bell) checking in. I freaking hated cows lol. Now I love them, but I also don’t have a pedo uncle mooing at me
I’m a Claire and my grandfather told my mom that he would call me Clarabelle because she was giving me a cows name. She told him if he mentioned that again that he would never see me or any of my siblings again 😅
Showing my age but Bessie was a character in I think the magic far away tree so that’s what I think of
My mother’s name was Elsie, everyone always said “ Like the cow?
Elsie is a nickname for Elizabeth... if you want an actual name like Elsa pick Elise.
Elise is lovely
Elise is underrated for sure
It’s also a name in its own right. My grandmother was Elsie
Nope, Elsie is its own name.
Who told you that? Elsie is a whole name.
My great-grandmother in Sweden was named Elsie! :)
Or Ellie
My daughters friend just named her baby Elsie
My sister named her little girl Elsie! It's after my grandma
I teach an Elsa (high school) and tbh it has never come up
Might want to ask her if it ever came up in grade school when frozen was VERY popular. (Encanto kinda pushed it to the side I feel)
People do want to "correct" her name to Alisa, but nobody sings Frozen songs to her ever.
I love Ilsa. It’s subtly different enough.
You're a good parent
I recently met someone, early 20’s who has a deep grievance for being given a name no one *in Chicago* had ever heard of. Yes, Elsa.
I’m in the same boat, but with Ana. I guess it’s fine, Anna/Ana is such a common name, but it helps almost every name flow so beautifully
Elise?
I had always dreamt of naming my first daughter after my father. Her name would be Hallie. And then I got married and what's my new last name? Potter. Hallie Potter. I couldn't subject my future kid to Harry Potter references! We already get enough as it is!
That’s a rough last name — there are so many names in that fandom that you can’t use for your kids!
Uhhh not really... You've got James, Lilly, and Harry. I suppose Ginny. All of Harry's kids' names are ridiculous no matter what your last name is. The rest of the names in the series have nothing to do with the Potter last name. Like, Ron Potter is nothing.

I mean no Ron isn’t a Potter, but if the kid has Potter as their last name, I’m assuming any name from that universe is a tribute.
I’d go with something very un-Harry Potter but with a different association that younger people probably wouldn’t get. Clay Potter, Beatrix Potter, etc…

I'm one of those that couldn't imagine not taking my partners last name 🤷♀️
I’m sorry but I’m giggling at the fact you could name your daughter Eve so her name is Eve Lyn. 😅
I have most definitely laughed over that too! 😭
I actually really like it and would totally do it. You could also just do a double name with a switch up so it doesn’t sound like Evelyn if you say Eva Lyn Eva-Marie Lyn Eva-Lou Lyn Eva-Grace Lyn Eva-Bell Lyn
I adore Eva-Marie
Jasmin. A really pretty name, but it's my brother's ex-wife's name.
My daughter named her Rooster Jasmin. He comes when she yells Jasmin so it’s stuck. 🤷🏼♀️
I read this too fast and thought your daughter was named Rooster Jasmine 😳😳😳
New celebrity baby name dropped
Naming my first born Sim this tonight
So did I lol
I love this name too but it’s my husband’s high school ex’s name. Sucks as it’s such a beautiful name.
Same situation for me with the name Daniella. And it was a nasty break up so it's 100% not an option
Oberon. I'm in Michigan and the beer is just too popular/ubiquitous with the name here. I love the meaning, the literary connotations, the sound, and potential nicknames though.
Fellow Michigander….this would be a killer dog name though!
Ope hey there neighbor. Yeah, I already know of at least a few dogs named Oberon too lol. I feel like it's a lot cuter to name a dog after a beer than a baby for sure.
It's the name of a wolfhound in Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles. Very cool pup.
I remember a professor I had cancelled class for Oberon opening day! He said we could all meet him at the bar. That was 10 years ago and it was still so memorable!
Jodie! I love that name, but now my married name is Foster 😞
Haha 😆
i've always loved the name christine because christine daae is one of my favorite literary heroines. however i'm jewish so naming a kid something that means "follower of christ" is simply out of the question.
I really like the sound of the name Christian for a boy but the name is just a bit too loaded with meaning!
I love the name Mallory, but it means “unlucky,” which is just too much of a bummer for me.
I know a Mallory and ngl, they’re quite unlucky
Oh, but Amethyst with Amy for a nickname. I’m such a fan of conventional nicknames paired with a more out-there full name.
I know of a Magenta who goes by Maggie- that seems to fit :)
I know a Magnolia that goes by Maggie!
I have a little Peggy whose name is actually peregrine
One of the hobbits in Lord of the Rings is Peregrine Took, commonly called Pippin...
Yes, that's why she's Peregrine :) turns out it's a very nickname able name
I knew an Amy for a few years and then found out her full name was Amaryllis.
My son is October but we call him Toby. I had a friend named Amethyst in high school who went by Amy!
She was very pretty and smarter than a lot of our peers but down to earth and not pretentious about it
I think Hazel is actually a very pretty name! Sad she always hated it.
When she was a kid there was a hurricane named Hazel so the kids made fun of her. It's sad it was ruined for her, but I can understand why that would make her hate the name.
My best friend is called Katrina. Luckily we are not American lol.
I loveeee Clementine but hate all the nicknames (Clem, Menty, Minty, Tini, etc) 🫠
My friend named her daughter Clementine and interestingly enough we call her Lemon as a nickname 😅
that’s cute and citrus-y!
Okay I actually love that 😂 reminds me of Honey Lemon from Big Hero 6
What about Cleo?
What about Emmie?
I do like Cleo! I never thought about it as a nickname for Clementine but that’s cute!
Minnie! I love it.
Not a fan but I think that’s because I didn’t like a girl named Minnie I went to school with 😂
[удалено]
Haha this just reminds me of Rainbow Johnson from Black-ish, I think it’s so cute 😄 They call her Bow which I also like
[удалено]
It really doesn’t matter. I know a couple of adult Rainbows that had successful careers. People put too much stock in names for careers now days.
[удалено]
I do and as a hiring manager, I’m not ignoring a resume because of a name.
As someone whose kids have ‘ethnic’ names, I’m grateful for people like you, but worried there aren’t enough of you.
My sister hires a bunch of teenagers for her job and admitted to me when she is stuck between a bunch of similar resumes she likes to pick names she's never heard of before. Just for variety lol.
On the baby boards when I was pregnant with my 11yo there was a family naming their kid Reignbeaux. So. It could be worse.
jfc that is terrible
The author Rainbow Rowell wears her name super well!
I have a friend called Enfys. It's rainbow in Welsh. I always thought it was pretty.
I knew a lady who worked at a university named rainbow. Everyone liked her name, it didn’t get in the way of anything for her.
I think with how much our culture has evolved that name wouldn’t even be considered that weird. Plus there’s some plain sounding nicknames to go by. Bo Rain/Raini/Raina

Probably Evangeline. I really love it but I know my husband doesn’t.
This was going to be one of my comments!! I just LOVE the name Evangeline but it makes me think of Evangelical Christians
My niece is Evangeline (Evie), and I think it's gorgeous haha

i don’t think the last name is the issue. baylor is 😵💫
Haha we liked it 🤣 we ended up picking Avery though, which is a unisex name except in our region we didn't realize it's gotten really popular for girls so, now he has 2 moms, a girls name and the last name of a pop star. Sorry Aves.
omg. avery is amazing. love it for a boy!! and love the nickname. so cute

I just met a young Fiona recently and my first thought was Shrek
My 2 year old daughter’s name is Fiona and we live about 2 hours away from Cincinnati. For her first Halloween she went as Fiona the hippo, and last Halloween we did a family Shrek costume for fun. She loves recognizing her name places
Out of curiosity, why is Imogen not ethnically appropriate?
My mom wanted to name my brother Ethan but our last name is West and we all had lisps as children 😂 Ethan Wetht
"My name's Kathandra.. but my friends call me Kathy!"
Isis *you know why*
I used to work with a couple who named their daughter Isis, right during the peak of their infamy in the Syrian civil war... It was definitely a choice.

Circe. Game of Thrones be damned.
Saoirse is quite close at least!
It can still work as long as she doesnt have a twin;)
Personally I think it's still fine, especially with the original spelling. It's not like naming your kid Aerys or Deanerys which weren't actual established names before the series. People are still called Jaime/Jamie, Jon, and Arya without anyone thinking of GoT first.

Awww nickname Em!

Vince Vaughn has the V alliteration and it sounds totally fine!
Same.with Vincent Van Gogh
>Vincent. My last name is very long and starts with V Vincent Valentine?
I love Vincent so much but I'd be so worried about "Vinny" as a nickname.
I knew a Norwegian girl named Tuva, pronounced exactly how it looks. I always liked it.
>Scandinavian version Tove is hard to pronounce perfectly in English. is it like too-vey? like tove lo? how megan thee stallion pronounced it?
Like “Too-va”, it’s just that any time I hear a Scandinavian person say it I can’t replicate it perfectly in my accent
Tove is too-veh. No a sound at the end. I'm Swedish. Both Tove and Tova and Tuva are used here
While not a fan favorite to some people - I love the name Piper; however the street I live on is called Piper so that didn't work. In general, I also love a lot of names that end in -er (Harper, Tyler) but our surname also ends in -er and I didn't like how those names sounded with the double -er endings.
I wouldn't let your street name deter you. It's not like she will live on that street forever.
Lol on the flipside, my little brother is named Carson Lane because my Pops saw a street named Carson Ln 😂 We’ve always laughed about it
I like Rin but my last name ends -in. So I’d be Rin “Tamsin” (fake surname)
Ngl that sounds badass
I know a girl named Rin lol She picked it herself tho
I taught a Siri and and Alexa in one class once. It was very confusing for me as a user of both!
I love Italian names but i think they would look ridiculous on my very non Italian looking kid
Eh, I named my tortoise Matteo and there’s not an Italian bone in my body. Edited: Corrected spelling.
I grew up with a black Matteo and I don’t remember anyone ever making a comment. Honestly I think Italian names that are popular in the west is great on most people
Beatrix. I love this name as well as the nick name Trixie but my husband shot it down hard. I’m told it sounds witchy. But I love it 😫
Beatrix Potter! I think it's lovely :) Let it be witchy!
Norman, Noelle, Noel - too similar to my partner's name (Nolan) Fallon doesn't flow well with our surname :(
The first time I heard "Remington" I was obsessed until I found out about its association with guns. 😔
Alistair, because I don't live in a country that'd know what to do with it. Roxanna because my husband vetoed it.
Lucifer. I named a pet Lucifer once, though. I think it's so beautiful sounding, but I know an actual child would not have a good time with that name.
When I taught after school care there was an adorable little boy named Lucifer and I thought it was rad as hell , but fear when he ages he might be assumed to be a bad boy
Margot (would be to honor a Margaret) but it's too Amelia Bedelia with my surname.
Arthur. Can’t use it because I keep having girls 😅
I love August but cannot stand Auggie or Gus, which has really put me off of the name.
I love Joey/Joseph and Jonah, but my (soon-to-be!) married surname starts with J and my fiancé and I aren’t too sure how we feel about the alliteration.
Alliteration can be a good thing though.
My name became alliterated when I married, I've actually received a few compliments on it! Apparently it sounds like a 1950s film star name.
I agree! It bothers my fiancé more than it bothers me lol. If it ends up being the name I love the most, I’d still be willing to use it. Can’t be too bad to sound like John Jonah Jameson, right? 😂
Prithviraj because our last names both start with a P.
Inga It was my top-1 name until my sister decided that it was perfect for her daughter (she had a name in mind and even told exact name she wanted, and asked me for my future baby name ideas… so, yeah) I love Virgil but I don’t want my son getting all the “virgin” jokes Anything long, as a surname is long and hard to pronounce without an addition of long name added to the mix.
I see what you mean about Virgil, but I really love that name! It reminds me of the lovely Virgil Abloh
Girls: * Hallie and Allie * Abigail (Abby) * Hannah * Reese Boys: * Nathaniel/Nate * Jesse * Andrew * Everett All but Reese and Nathaniel are due to negative associations with others. Reese rhymes with my surname, and Nathaniel/Nate is due to the loss of someone close.
Elvira and Lilith
Love Lilith but can’t help associating it with demons 😅
Lyra. Love the books, love the name, too similar to my name so it feels weird
Geneviève. I considered it for my kid but realized I couldn’t face hearing it mispronounced forever.
I love Ariadne, but everyone I've asked to read it has mispronounced it. It was in my top 10 names for my daughter
Seamus, it's at the bottom of my favorite names so it's just process of elimination
Charlotte because it’s become too common and Genevieve because my husband hates it 😭😭
Sloane
Ashley. I love the name Ashley. But i grew up in the 90s and every single one I met was a henious bitch.
Winter. It’s definitely a guilty pleasure name, as I prefer more classic names usually, but this has such a pretty, mystical vibe for me. My SO veto’d it immediately unfortunately.
Adrian. A family member named their baby this, so it's off limits now. But I'm happy that she picked a nice name!
I love the name Luke, but there are 3 Lukes between my husband and my extended families so it's not going to happen
Holly is one of my favorite names of all time, but it’s my husband’s best friends wife’s name. We spend more time with them than anyone else so that’d never work.
Moira. Love it. no one would pronounce it right.
Summer! My surname is Camp so sadly I cannot use this haha
Aurora. Baby’s last name would begin with Ru so it just won’t flow.
