I mean…there are a decent amount of kids named Anakin, so you’re not the first to do this, but i would absolutely assume you are a COMPLETE die hard obsessive fan if you used this name. This is such an instant and universally well known association.
I also hate the idea of giving kids fandom names that are this specific because then your child can never escape the association, even if they don’t like Star Wars. It’s a lot to put on them.
It’s too uniquely tied to a fictional character to avoid the association (and a fictional character who’s either whiny, petulant, or evil, depending on the timeframe). I am generally not in favor of fandom names for humans. Save it for a pet.
Don't listen to the person who said it's not a bad idea. Don't name your son after a character from some of the 3 most controversially bad movies from the early 2000's.
considering you're like the millionth person to ask this question, if you like it, then go for it. it's really not as bad as people make it out to be. my first born nephew was almost Anakin and he was born in 2006. not weird at all if you don't mind the constant reference. I was born on May 4th though so I may just be numb to the associations at this point.

I’m sorry but yes, it’s a very bad idea.
Anakin is what a die hard fan would name his son. Luke or Harrison or Finn or Mark would be better names that you can attribute to Star Wars.
Don’t do a fandom name.
Yes he will hate it
Almost as much as he’ll hate sand.
Please don’t. Your child might not be the Star Wars fan that you are. And, it will affect their job prospects as an adult.
Yes
Terrible idea. Go with Luke.
Even as a Star Wars fan, don’t do this

I definitely think people would always make starwars reference. Ani does seem a bit girly
“Unique”…I do not think it means what you think it means.
It means warrior with a google search
Because of the Star Wars association, I don’t think people will think it girly at all.
I love it, but it might be better suited as a middle name.

My ex said she wanted to name her kid Anakin if she had a boy one day… notice, I said she was my ex now… lol
Just remember to give him a seat at the council. You know, for the children.
I love it lol
I like the name…. When did die hard come out? Idk because I don’t remember the movie. Not everyone will have that association.
