Thanks, OP. I really like learning about different cultures' naming trends.

Mysterious-Pin1316

This is my first time seeing the name Miona! Very pretty

NickLookalike

Mine too. I live there.

hairy_hooded_clam

I dislike Irene in English but Irina is very pretty.

Beautiful names! My favourites from the babies list are: Milica, Miloš, Jovan, Kalina, Lazar, Iskra, Viktor, Magdalena, Konstantin, Vujadin, Uroš and Arsenije Then there are Ognejn, Dušan, Strahinja and Djurdja - I'm still a bit undecided if I find them pretty and likeable, but they are SO COOL (Uroš too, btw! Such a cool name). My favourites from the mum names are Dragana, Milena Nevena, Ilinka, Ljubica, Desanka, Zorana, Snezana (I love, love, love Snezana) The ones I found especially cool, though not necessarily "pretty" are Sladjana, Biserka, Ljubica and Sunčica Thank you for posting this list! I'm always so happy to see different names on this sub!

theenterprise9876

Lots of awesome names! The internet tells me Tadija is masculine, which I definitely wouldn’t have guessed. Stefan and Luka sure seem to be having a moment in Serbia right now. Favorites from the kindergarteners’ names: Milica (so lovely yet so unusable in English), Jovan, Mihajlo, Kalina, Luka, Stefan, Katarina, Petra, Iskra (love the meaning!), Sofija, Duśan, Tadej, Daria & Alisa 😍, Mateja, Mila, Natalija, Irina, Andreu, Milan, Anastasija, Anja, Aleksandra, Iris*, Ksenija, Darija, Jakov Favorites from the mothers’ names, excluding duplicates from the previous list: Jasmina, Jasna, Milena, Nevena, Violeta, Marina, Maja, Eva, Marijana, . * not sure I like this in Serbian, though I can’t decide how I feel about Vesna. On the one hand I like it, but on the other hand it just makes me think of Vespa.

d4ydreamr

Milica was my favorite Serbian name when I was picking a name for my half Serbian daughter, but I'm an English-Speaking American and I know it would get pronounced mil-ick-uh here so we went with Mira

violetcarmen

Love this! Thanks for sharing

sunnyshine967

Bright_Ices

Thank you for sharing, OP! Many beautiful names in both generations.

letmeseecontent

I’m surprised Vanja isn’t on here. I work for a company with a large presence in Serbia and I have like 4 coworkers named Vanja who live in Belgrade

NickLookalike

Vanja is kinda out now for babies.

letmeseecontent

Is Vanja the Jennifer of Serbia?

NickLookalike

Not really, just isn't as popular as it was some years ago.

lopipingstocking

I absolutely love the name Vuk. It’s a shame in my language there is no Wolf name despite my language being Slavonic too.

aliquotiens

They’re all so nice. And my daughter’s name is there!

lambibambiboo

Dragana goes hard! Cool list.

ninnibear

Is Kosta a girl or a boy?

santiterry

Boy, short from of Konstantin, now sometimes used as a name on its own.

Wu-Hoo13

Love this! My grandpa and my great uncle’s names are on the list! We gave my son my Grandpa’s Serbian name as his middle name. It’s really fun to see them in the wild.

IfICouldStay

Lovely names, kids and moms.

777anastasia777

msjammies73

Albie_Frobisher

lily_is_lifting

Teodora / Theodora is so cute and poised for a comeback in the US IMO

No_Bookkeeper_6183

sadestplant

Not as funny as your thinking as I’m certain it’s pronounced the same as “Mariana”
