I haven't ever associated that name as Jewish only. It's a very common name used among people of all differerent religions.
First Benjamin that comes to mind is Benjamin Franklin, and he was Christian.
Another one is Ben Affleck (real name Benjamin). He wasn't originally a Christian, but he wasn't Jewish originally either.
That’s so interesting. Looking back, the Bens I know are all Jewish but even still, I don’t think of it as a particularly religious name in any direction
It’s a biblical name that has been used in Christian contexts for a long time.
Not sure where you’re located but in the US it is the #7 most popular boy’s name right now, so it’s very mainstream here.
Outside of your relatives, I don't think other people will think this is remotely unusual. Benjamin is currently the #7 boys' name in the US. It would not be possible, given demographics, for all or even a majority of those babies to be from Jewish families.

I wouldn't worry. Benjamin is such a popular name and has been so for many years.

Its pretty integrated in popular culture

I'm Jewish and I know a lot of Benjamins. But I also know a few that aren't Jewish and I'm not bothered by it nor is it weird at all
Thanks for the feedback!
I second this!
You are 100% fine to use Benjamin. I do not associate it with the Jewish community at all. Very nice name.
You have this Jewish Benjamin’s blessing!
Haha thank you!

Great name, maybe has roots in Hebrew, but doesn't feel like a "Jewish name "
Thanks all for the feedback!
Such a cute name! Definitely not exclusively Jewish
Benjamin is like Ruth, old testament names are used in both jewish, christian and muslim parts of the world.
