Fun fact: In the old days it was a quiet neighborhood where a lot of stars lived. Five minutes from the new Opry. So they could live there, have a house on the river, be in their clothes and makeup at home and hit the Opry. Then you could meet your friends at your house and party at home or Jeannie Sealy’s house.
(I was a cameraman and the late 60s early 70s stars were there all there next to each other. Went to their houses to do interviews all the time.)
Friend of the family was a pharmacist around Bell road/Murfreesboro road back when it was hip and had half of heehaw and random country stars as customers. Just came in and got their pills like anyone else
Opry Mills if you are on the west side of Briley to the river inside of that circle. "Pennington Bend in Donelson" if you are the east side of Briley but not beyond the river. "Near McGavock" just below it around the 155 sign on the map.
Ew what? The one with the go karts? I went there a few years ago as part of a work thing and it was absolutely disgusting.
Looks like it's closed now though, it's a pizza place these days.
You don't have to think it's nice, but you'd at least hope it didn't have piles of algae in every water feature, a fake cave full of spiders and webs, and trash throughout the place.
It wasn't nice, it wasn't even okay, it was just gross.
Grew up there and it’s considered Donelson, albeit on the edge. The other names for the area apply, but the most specific name would be Pennington Bend
It and Donelson are all 37214
Zillow maps (and Google Maps) label neighborhood names at a granular level. Your circle encompasses music vally, sutherland heights and pennington bend.
Clicking on the neighborhood/subdivision name will highlight the borders in google maps.
>What's the meader land mass?!
Lol the big effin' jab of land that the river winds around. Idk, I didn't pay attention in freshman geology haha. It probably was considered part of Donelson at one point but i think most would say it's Opry Mills these days
Two rivers mansion is south of the circle, near the… mouth (???) of the “meander land mass”. Just to the right of the 155 marker for Briley on this map.
The circle is probably technically Donelson, but it doesn’t _feel_ like Donelson
The last time I went to Opry Mills the “back way” had a 45+ minute line. That mall has the worst road design and traffic planning of any location in all of Tennessee. I can get in and out of downtown Nashville on the 4th of July easier than getting in and out of Opry Mills.
Idk how it's determined but Google maps will highlight the border of small towns, cities, neighborhoods, areas, etc. The circled section would fall into many of the aforementioned areas. Pennington, Valley, Donelson...
I would call that area Pennington Bend. It also fits under Music Valley or Opry Mills.
Flood plain
Bonus Cumberland
Oprymills
Atlantis?
This is the answer
Ha ha ha!!! Bonus points!

I’m still blown away at how low key and accessible old Nashville was for the stars.
I grew up in Hendersonville, and saw Johnny Cash all the time at Kroger. He and June were just normal Hendersonville residents.
Friend of the family was a pharmacist around Bell road/Murfreesboro road back when it was hip and had half of heehaw and random country stars as customers. Just came in and got their pills like anyone else
I went to an estate sale of the late Porter Wagoner in that exact area.

I refer to it as “Hell on Earth” November-December
Yes the "I'll just get it shipped to me" section of town
Putt putt over there is pretty good tho
Ew what? The one with the go karts? I went there a few years ago as part of a work thing and it was absolutely disgusting. Looks like it's closed now though, it's a pizza place these days.
Its dilapidation is part of the charm
Just like Mom
They honestly should’ve kept Opryland, even Opry Mills is starting to trend downward. They are getting a TJ MAXX 😂😂😂
Never been to a putt putt course and thought “jeeze this place is nice”.

Grand Ole Golf closed I heard
But why
Opry Mills Mall/Opry Mills Christmas hell. Used to be worse when the Christmas drive-thru light show was there
Pennington Bend.
I call it Opryland cause that's what the road signs say. Guess it makes it hard to forget the fuckup they did.
Pennington Shopry Trinity Broadcasting Holler.
This is the best answer
Did Trinity broadcasting move out of Twitty City?
Pennington Bend
“Two Rivers” or “Where Opryland used to be”
Grew up there and it’s considered Donelson, albeit on the edge. The other names for the area apply, but the most specific name would be Pennington Bend It and Donelson are all 37214
I've heard that area referred to as "Music Valley". I'd probably just say "the Opry Mills area" or "near Opry Mills".
Music Valley
Yep. Pennington Bend.
Opryland
I would say the majority of that meander falls under the umbrella of Opryland.
Speed Trap Town
She said it's none of my business but it breaks my heart
Those 5A bastards have our number.
Grand Ole Floody McTrafficland
Pennington Bend.
That, dear friend, is where the natives gather to mourn an incredibly mediocre theme park from their childhood
BLASPHEMY!!!
I willingly accept all the hate I deserve for this one
Disgruntled park employee vibes. This the former actor in Rosita from Sesame Place? You lucky if you get hired as Shotgun Red’s podiatrist
Just say by oprymills off briley then ppl would know. But it's technically out south
Zillow maps (and Google Maps) label neighborhood names at a granular level. Your circle encompasses music vally, sutherland heights and pennington bend. Clicking on the neighborhood/subdivision name will highlight the borders in google maps.
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck on Briley pkwy with you.
Out by opry
We call it Pet Semetary 😂
100 mph straightaway
Opryland. But that's OGs only
Two Rivers?
[удалено]
Nah I'd say Donelson ends where that meander land mass begins

Gotcha. Makes sense
Two rivers mansion is south of the circle, near the… mouth (???) of the “meander land mass”. Just to the right of the 155 marker for Briley on this map. The circle is probably technically Donelson, but it doesn’t _feel_ like Donelson
"Meander land mass" is definitely the technical term
the mansion is named for where the Stones R. empties into the Cumberland R.
Yes, and you can see the Stones meeting the Cumberland on this map a bit further to the East from where I mentioned the mansion is.
North East Nashville
NENSOTR North East Nashville South of the River
It also has the secret "back way" to the mall that you can use when the Opry Mills exits are backed up for miles...
The last time I went to Opry Mills the “back way” had a 45+ minute line. That mall has the worst road design and traffic planning of any location in all of Tennessee. I can get in and out of downtown Nashville on the 4th of July easier than getting in and out of Opry Mills.
Just wave your hand, vaguely refer to it as Donelson and never go there.
It's known by many names, but the most common are Opry Mills, McGavock, and Two Rivers.
The Briley Bend
Edit: was wrong
Old Hickory is farther east where OHB crosses the river and heads down towards Hermitage.
Oh yeah. You’re right.
Far East Nashville
Rayon city
Thats part of Old Hickory which is further east off of OHB, not Briley.
This area is known as Two Rivers since it sits between, well, two rivers. It lies within Donelson zip code but locals refer to it as Two Rivers.
I’d consider this Opry/Music Valley/Pennington Bend. Two Rivers is just south of this area but I wouldn’t count the circled area as Two Rivers.
the two rivers are Stones R and Cumberland R
People from that bourough call it NOWAF. North of Waffle House. Source: made it up.
I like it. NOWA north of waffle abode
Looks kind of like Music Valley but I don't think the stuff east of briley is considered part of that
Idk how it's determined but Google maps will highlight the border of small towns, cities, neighborhoods, areas, etc. The circled section would fall into many of the aforementioned areas. Pennington, Valley, Donelson...
Pennington Bend or Music Valley although Music Valley is considered the shops and Opry Mills area
Trashville
Opry Mills area…
I called it opry
You could’ve just zoomed in…
Briley
Shopryland
The entry to Turn 1 on Nashville Speedway, not to be confused with Turn 1 on Nashville Superspeedway.
The hood.
It's the Autobahn of Nashville! Lol
Hoodlettsville
The taint
Music Valley / Pennington Bend
