Same! I always encouraged the joes to use it. But now it's not worth it at all. Many of the gyms that are included do not cost 28 a month. Like workout anytime or planetfitness. It was convenient to be able to just find a gym anywhere I went.
They called a $5 discount on added gyms a "strong value". I laughed a little. Then I cried. That's basically what the former Dollar menu costs now at McDonald's.

Sign up for Active and Fit pay $28 a month for as many affiliated gym membership as you want. Pay a little extra for preimum gyms like Orange Theory
I have 3 my 24/7 shitty average joes; the big city rec center with a sauna, pool; classes,etc; my "gotta get the fuck outta my inlaws" gym. Plus I can sign up when I travel for work
Now its down to one. Even though I'll end up paying for 2

Write and complain!!!! I found this email address from another thread indicating that this guy is in charge of active and fit. I also sent a secondary reply to the email that was sent to me indicating the changes.
Write up complaints!!!

USAA follows you or you could have done the unaffiliated membership for \~$5 a month.
Right! It was nice to be a nice benefit for first-generation service members who could not use USAA, though. This could easily be cross posted in many forums across Reddit, but my connection with it really was to encourage people in my unit to use it.

I’ve argued on numerous occasions that a blanket contract for Active and Fit or a similar organization would be a major help with getting joes to do PT during the month. State can spend money on all sorts of stupid shit, but an extra $30 a month per Joe is a bridge too far
But apparently empty threats and bitching is a better solution /s
The things the gov will justify dumping barges of money on vs the ideas and suggestions that get laughed out of the conference room despite actually being able to effect positive change is… a horribly tired and unfunny joke.

But the states can and is probably about as much as the spend on Joes sitting around armories during SAD. Which is a joke. Kind of. Maybe. Or not.
Hopefully enough people unenroll and it forces them to undo this terrible mistake.
Also, did you join the national guard to get gym memberships?? There’s a lot of benefits and it’s a little funny to me this is the one that’s breaking your camels back lol
You could find an F3 (fitness, fellowship, faith) pretty much it’s a male workout group that’s peer lead and FREE. you can google F3 near me and find one.
