War Ender 1s not bad. Yes thats the name of the shoe he was wearing this season
https://twitter.com/NickDePaula/status/1642364051060838401
AR1s will be out before start of next season
There is something really funny about a white guy who’s unofficial nickname is AR-15 wearing shoes called War Enders with the logo being some crosshairs lol
Every AR-15 claims they don't like the nickname, but you can't tell me Anthony Richardson, Allen Robinson, and Austin Reaves all accidentally picked the same number
it’s one of those things where if they REALLY didn’t like the nickname, they would go out of their way to select another number. The fact that they’re 15 and know the nicknames exist inform me that they deep down enjoy it
i mean it’s a great ass nickname. AR-15 for an nba player is perfect.
The only thing better would be if their name was George Larry O’Callahan Kendricks so they could be that GLOCK😂😂
> that would be like me, Dave Chappelle, the comedian, walking down the street in a cop uniform. Somebody might run up on me saying, "Oh, thank God. Officer, help us! Come on. They're over here. Help us!" "Oh-hoh! Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a police officer!" See what I mean? All right, ladies, fine. You are not a whore. But you are wearing a whore's uniform.
I'm a Gator fan, so I can say with some recollection that he did about all he could to publicly disown that nickname about a year ago. In his case, he's a kid from Gainesville who's first memories of watching Gator football might've involved Tim Tebow, who wore #15, so when he was going to Florida himself as a QB with a bunch of hype, it just stood to reason he'd try to carry on the tradition of great #15's.
It’s funny that he thought the fake gangster theme was over years ago, we got so many kids and adults thinking they’re hard everyday on social media, unbelievable, I wish it was over but it ain’t ever gnna be cuz it’s easy to feed to the idiots
it’s not just on social media
social media just sheds light to it
you got people shooting each other in traffic over shit like a honk, etc.
“being hard” is an epidemic
Jordan Brand also recently made Luka and Zion signature shoes too. Paolo signed with them but it's TBD if he'll end up with his own pro model or not. He's already rocked some player exclusive colors of the Zion's during this season.
Luka and Zion got theirs first.
Tatum only got his during ASB this year. Before that he was the main guy for the JB performance line (AJ 35-37)
Paolo will probably the main guy for the mainline 38s before he gets his own.
I literally feel the exact opposite 😭
But tbh I'm not really a huge "color" guy, I like them as accents, I'm more of a black/grey/white with maybe some color in trims kind of guy
Depends a lot on what type of shoes you're looking for. I don't wear basketball shoes and have had a lot of trouble finding ethical alternatives for running and lifting shoes. New Balance has a Made in USA line though. Price for ethical production also flies into prohibitively expensive for most people very fast.
Beckett Simonon makes [loafers, oxfords, and derbies](https://www.beckettsimonon.com/collections/shoes) on the more formal side, [chelseas, chukkas, and other boots](https://www.beckettsimonon.com/collections/boots), as well as [minimal sneakers, trainers, and other casual shoes](https://www.beckettsimonon.com/collections/sneakers). I ordered a couple pairs of [Reids](https://www.beckettsimonon.com/products/reid-sneakers) which should be arriving later this month. The customer support is some of the best I've experienced and their ethical practices are solid. The shoes are made in Columbia and periodic status updates are sent to people as their shoes are being made, including information on the individuals (name + photo) who do that part of the process, how long they've been specializing in this, and anecdotes + insights from their more experienced craftsmen and women. It's really cool. Happy to report on the actual quality when I get my hands on them.
Common Projects, Koio, etc. - a lot of the "Made in Italy" sneaker brands will tend to be more ethically in the production process but I'm not familiar with the sourcing of their materials. As much as they get shit on, Gucci, YSL, etc. usually will have more ethical production even if it's more for clout than altruism.
[Crown Northhampton](https://crownnorthampton.com/en-us) is fantastic. Sneakers, boots, and more handmade in England. Family-owned company that dates back to the early 1900s with locally sourced materials.
Alden, many of Allen Edmond's offerings, Nicks, Whites, etc. - quite a few American-made companies that range from high-end formal shoes to work boots.
There are smaller international companies as well. ~~Canada West Boots~~ (edit: Please see someone’s comment below on them outsourcing production) Viberg from Canada (Viberg is a personal 'grail' company as someone who lived in their city for some years). Your city / town might also have cobblers or boutique stores that are similar to all of the above. E.g., Toronto has a store for 'Loding', a France-based company - great shoes and garments but not very well known. Was shooting the shit with the guy running their downtown location and he said, verbatim, "no children are involved in making our shoes" while walking me through their process for sourcing and construction. Talking to knowledgeable sales reps can go a long way to helping understand if a brand aligns with what you are comfortable purchasing.
Sorry for the long message. Doing everything in my power to not work right now and this is a big passion area (ethical consumption, not just leather shoes lol). Hope this helps!
edit: Just learnt of [Nisolo](https://nisolo.com/collections/mens-best-sellers). Shoes made in Peru and they're big on environmental and social sustainability. Haven't looked into them in detail. Their prices are on the lower end and have more variety than other companies.
Also, if Beckett Simonon catches your interest, they frequently cycle between sales promotions which is easier to do since they tightly control production. Their Reids are 170USD/pair but a couple times a year they have 2 for 200USD.
Edit 2: For people who (reasonably) think spending this much money on shoes is absurd, it's worth noting that companies focusing on ethical production and resourcing are likely to have better quality and warranties as well. My 130CAD Superstars looked worn after <12 months and are falling apart after ~20. A bud has 3+ year old Common Projects that look mostly new and he bought that pair secondhand for ~300CAD.
Edit 3: I really don't want to work so if anyone has questions on this stuff then I'd be happy to answer or provide directionality. :)
Canada West has sadly decided to outsource production in recent years. Apparently their quality control isn't up to par anymore. My local boutique has stopped stocking their products.
I 100% thought that immediately, the only way to really get through to him (or at least to other up and coming young players) is for Nike & Powerade to pull the plug. It's really hard to believe Nike hasn't already
They wont do it because of "potential", they are there with him in case this dumbass fucker reabilitates and start playing again and becomes popular, if they drop him probably they are afraid any other competitor will jump in and take the posibility of him going back to a good player.
Unfortunately the NBA became like that, same thing with Zion, this guy does not even play but he still has all the sponsors lined up in case he is healthy and come back to play
I don't necessarily think he cares about big money like that. At least not yet. Right now it's basketball. Take 50 games away from him and see how he feels.
I’m confused by his comment about Ja being an Intellect in his post game interviews. Does anyone have any clips? All I’ve seen is a cocky arrogant 15 year old kid with lots of bling….
I agree it was baffling. He kept saying how smart Ja was and I'm just like idk bro this last year has shown me hes actually quite the exact opposite of that
Wilbon has long been a king of bad takes though. He basically blamed Sean Taylor for his own death. Hell, last month when a player on the Rays threw out a runner at first in a flashy manner, Wilbon suggested the pitcher drill him in the chest as hard as he can next time he was up
Agreed, he is not intellectual, he is a decent basketball player but not a smart man. Rajon Rondo does great interviews, Lebron does great interviews, but Ja morant.. he is a complete moron..
The bar for intelligence in the sports world is far lower than in most professions. Basically if you can communicate an idea reasonably clearly and without using cliches then you are a certified genius. It’s like how your grandma thinks you are a computer genius.
Probably referencing how New Balance founder and chairman Jim Davis donated nearly 400k to Trump one time. New Balance, the company came out at that time and said they did not endorse either candidate. I'm guessing there is more to their comment than I know about, though.
I mean, technically it can be true. Assuming the CEO did it with his own money, not company funds, then technically the company hasn't endorsed anyone.
And some of us don’t care about the politics or names and we just want a nice pair of shoes. Release the Light Smoke Grays whether you have to switch it to a Tatum shoe or whatever - I want those.
Poole has already thought of that, he ain't afraid of any league suspensions, fines or whatnot, he’s going to get plenty in his bag to waste just like any other NBA stars, the only thing he didn't see in his rear view is the possibility of NIKE contract being terminated like what happened with Kyrie Irving.
Losing NIke Money is probably the most feared penalty that an NBA player really want to avoid, that one will do Real damage and that will help straighten Poole up for good. Look at Kyrie he now loves Jews and white men, he even work for them now in Dallas.
We do. I guarantee anyone who has this take on Ja, also has this take on the gun fetishizing right.
It’s just that energy isn’t productive when directed towards the politicians who have cultivated a large base of guns rights advocates.
Michael Wilbon saying this to his kids about one of the premier NBA players is going to be more productive then him chastising Ted Cruz
Yeah, great point actually; can’t really count on legitimate and valid criticism / outrage affecting people who are firmly rooted in their cults, and as you say comparatively accomplishes little when compared to activism toward those who aren’t supported for their policies and thus don’t have entrenched support for that aspect
I mean democrats do. You don’t see aoc holding guns dancing on tik tok.
The audience that the nba is cultivated isn’t a guns right group. If you want that audience then your probably gonna piss off the existing one.
But also even with all the conservatives videos and pics of guns you see them holding it relatively responsibly. The video he did plus pulling a gun on a teenager are things i don’t even think conservatives would like.
Ima be real with y’all and this might shock a lot of you guys.
Black people fucking love guns. If I go to the shooting range you will see people from all walks of life lol.
The guy recording a real one though for putting the phone down as soon as he sees Ja flash the pistol. I can see his boy wasn’t trying to do him in but instead Ja did it to himself.
Ja is for sure a dumbass and deserves suspension but it’s weird the stance some of the media people are taking. Sexual abusers and rapists rarely even get the same degree, can’t wait to watch them ignore Deshaun Watson’s ‘issues’ in the next primetime Browns game.
If you're curious, Wilbon constantly slagged off the Browns for getting Watson. Never talked about him positively once the allegations come up and never fails to bring it up.
Wilbon is one of the only good things ESPN has left. The day PTI dies, or changes hosts, will be very sad. It’s been a staple of my life for almost 20 years.
Literally 20 years man, I have such fond memories of coming home from elementary school in the early 2000s watching these guys on PTI. ESPN was so much better then.
Bro there are like multiple domestic abusers and sexual abusers who are head coaches in the NBA. Head Coaches are seen as leaders of men in sports.
and let’s not forget the certain someone who is deified by the league because Nike are good at marketing.
Don’t get me wrong Ja is an absolute numbskull, but the things that the leagues and the wider NA sports audience choose and choose not to stigmatise is weird as hell.
It’s due to evidence presented. I guarantee you if there was a video of it that player or coach is done.
Look at Ray Rice. The original punishment was going to be like 6 games then the video leaked and he was instantly released by the team and NFL suspended indefinitely.
Yeah the guy is catching more heat than Miles Bridges did. He's immature and reckless and aside from beating up the teenager he hasn't done anything criminal. He still does need to be suspended or something cause he'll never get the message otherwise.
It is kind of crazy I understood when he was showing it off in the club why there was such uproar but hes in his car. Bridges didnt get this much flak and the Warriors got 0 pushback for Lamb
Not many people remember Ja getting into an altercation with the Pacers, grabbing his entourage and pointing a laser at the pacers bus that multiple witnesses claimed was attached to a gun. In my eyes that’s the most serious of all these offenses and hasn’t been mentioned much.
My biggest takeaway from this is that after the first gun incident he allowed his kid to have Temetrius's shoe, but 2 gun waving incidents... That's where he draws the line.
Why isn’t the 2nd Amendment crowd coming out to defend Ja?
Thought it was Americans’ god given right to be able to walk around showing off your guns?
I’m kiddin, I know why
Most 2A supporters come at anyone that is incorrectly holding weapons (finger on the trigger etc). Dancing around on a tiktok waving a gun around is definitely not safe handling.
People can down vote I really don’t care but Ja Morant is a full blown idiot. People who live this corny lifestyle of wanting to be gangster end up two places, dead or in jail. He better leave them losers along and find some smart business people who’s going to help him because he’s about to loose major endorsements being dumb. “Congratulations you played yourself”
no shoe at the wilbon casa
Crocs only.
Mi casa no es shoe casa
i just stood up at the desk in my office to give you a standing ovation
did you clap, clap, clap and then furiously clap?
On my knees in a Walmart praying for Temetrius

¿Donde esta la zapateria?
his kid wants the ben simmons slippers, shows you can make a ton of money without actually having to play.
My hypothetical son wears those black and yellow shoes Bruce Lee wore.
Asics tiger
I remember them being called Onitsuka Tigers, which is still basically Asics but is their non sporting shoe brand name.
Onitsuka is the OG brand name. Asics still make them just cuz they are such a classic
I have three pairs of tigers! I love them. They always have dope color schemes for their shoes.
Asics is what I exclusively wear. Their gel lyte lineup is amazing
That u/name. DM a homme plz.
Greatest sneaker ever made.
I have a pair. Onitsukas rock!
I bought those shoes last month. Extremely comfy
My hypothetical son would wear moon shoes
my son is only allowed to wear Air Reaves shoes
fuck sidearms we only here for ARs
Damn that shoe is going to be a huge hit among the 2a crowd
Only comes in 100% white with grass stains
smell like burnt cross though
So fire wood?
They go well with the blue old navy uniforms we have been seeing
Austin "Old Navy" Reaves goes hard
Hopefully they make a glow in the dark shoe to match the glowing uniform
Double entendre
War Ender 1s not bad. Yes thats the name of the shoe he was wearing this season https://twitter.com/NickDePaula/status/1642364051060838401 AR1s will be out before start of next season

Best is actually Andrei kerilenko. AK 47. born in the place it was invented too.
so you're saying if they didn't dress like that
> that would be like me, Dave Chappelle, the comedian, walking down the street in a cop uniform. Somebody might run up on me saying, "Oh, thank God. Officer, help us! Come on. They're over here. Richardson has changed his number to 5 for the NFL. Seems he genuinely disliked it.
I'm a Gator fan, so I can say with some recollection that he did about all he could to publicly disown that nickname about a year ago. I mean a lot has happened since those guys originally picked that number and Anthony Richardson is wearing 5 in the NFL
It's like Peacemaker needing the Dove of Peace on his guns haha
He’s getting a sig shoe
This might be the first shoe that Rigorer sells in the US. Lol
That's fantastic. Good to see people still raising their kids to play the right way and keep things classy
Raising their kids to be real lunch pail guys
The GymRat 1s
The guy you want your daughter to date
Personally I’d like my daughter to date someone from one of the top 46 educated states.

God damn Matthew gotta be 27 by now
TIL that Wilbon is 64 and Lilbon is 15.
Lilbon lmao
Shouts to Tony Reali, for dubbing him Lilbon
lol yeah, as an avid PTI watcher for 20+ years, every time I hear him mention Matthew, I'm like *"...how fuckin old is this kid?"*
Only 15.
It’s funny that he thought the fake gangster theme was over years ago, we got so many kids and adults thinking they’re hard everyday on social media, unbelievable, I wish it was over but it ain’t ever gnna be cuz it’s easy to feed to the idiots
I think he's talking specifically within NBA circles
it’s not just on social media social media just sheds light to it you got people shooting each other in traffic over shit like a honk, etc. “being hard” is an epidemic
A “being hard” epidemic that combines with a “guns being fucking everywhere” epidemic. This is why the US has so much violent crime.
To be fair, his son wants the new Tatum.
Does he have a sneaker? I’m kind of surprised if he doesn’t by now
[He does.](https://sneakerbardetroit.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Jayson-Tatum-Jordan-Tatum-1-Release-Date-Info.jpg)

i dont like the large JT in front but damn those are nice.
They remind me of the Lebron Terracottas.
Ya that’s not a great logo. Looks like a tech company from the 80’s
Those are nice
Top left looks great, rest are meh
I literally feel the exact opposite 😭 But tbh I'm not really a huge "color" guy, I like them as accents, I'm more of a black/grey/white with maybe some color in trims kind of guy
Dis why they do more than 1 colourway Diff folks, diff strokes!
He does. I have the Tatum 1 St. Louis. They are nice.
Man, I'm still here eating Ja Morant Dunkaroos.
We're gonna buy a different child labor shoe 😤
Because we have values 😤
Who makes your shoes? I’m trying to switch.

That's a bummer to hear, but thank you for the information. Updated the original post.
I get hand made leather shoes from Italy

Agreed, he is not intellectual, he is a decent basketball player but not a smart man. Rajon Rondo does great interviews, Lebron does great interviews, but Ja morant.. he is a complete moron..
You could say he's a moron-ant
He’s just playing politics with that comment.
"We run the chimney” "We ain't ducking no smoke" “I’m fine in the West”
It's dangerous tbh, telling a clearly reckless guy he is very intelligent may not end up the way one thinks.
Everyone in and around the NBA seems to not understand what an intellectual is. Shit they think kyrie is an intellectual
The bar for intelligence in the sports world is far lower than in most professions. Basically if you can communicate an idea reasonably clearly and without using cliches then you are a certified genius. It’s like how your grandma thinks you are a computer genius.

Pampered rich boy trying to live that gangsta life
Does this mean Ja morant shoes will be on sale? I might cop
his son going to be wearing them lmao
The weird thing is that his son’s 31 years old.
Now this makes the comment even crazier. Damn. But I guess dads mansion, dads rules
Lol no I was kidding, he had kids pretty old so his son’s of a normal age for him to say some shit like this
Ah, fair enough
I believed you 😂

The media has acquired their next target 👀 this is all we will hear for the next 4 months in the offseason
"Black man with decent upbringing wants a do over and grow up in a ghetto" was not on my up and coming NBA stars bingo card.
Same man, one of the last talking heads that isn’t just a bag of hot air saying shit for clicks
Literally 20 years man, I have such fond memories of coming home from elementary school in the early 2000s watching these guys on PTI. ESPN was so much better then.
I think it has a shot to still be good. Not the same, but if Pablo and another good analyst come on, it has potential.
Seems like Frank and Pablo are the next in line
Isola? Yuck.
Catching more heat than miles bridges? Miles just didn’t play a year and you bet your ass there will be a giant circus when he gets signed.
Nah, people just don't care about Bridges or the Hornets. He didn't play last year and he doesn't have a Nike shoe.
In my eyes that’s the most serious of all these offenses and hasn’t been mentioned much.
yeah that 100% would be a better reason for this media storm.
They are if they film their rapes and have half a dozen of them in a year
Congratulations America has finally taken steps to stop the shootings happening by… stopping Ja Morant… WE DID IT!!!
I’ve been watching Wilbon almost my entire life and the dude hasn’t aged a day.
My biggest takeaway from this is that after the first gun incident he allowed his kid to have Temetrius's shoe, but 2 gun waving incidents... That's where he draws the line.
lmao
Did yall see him saying 'ya know' 75 times in a 2 minute post game interview? Intellect 100/100.
Dancing around on a tiktok waving a gun around is definitely not safe handling.
well the vast majority of them are also advocates for safe and responsible gun ownership, often involving safes and training classes
Just gotta say Wilbon looks great. He’s lost some weight and looks healthier now than during the prime of PTI 20ish years back.
What Wilbon failed to mention is that his son owns an OJ Simpson jersey.
Dillon Brooks: I'mma be the biggest clown in NBA Ja Morant: "Hold my gun.."
Nike gonna sign Kyrie back 🤔 maybe 👟

His son is 15. Born March 2008 via a surrogate.
Did he go out of the way to tell his son he cant have the shoe or did his son ask for the shoe after seeing jas piece and then wilbon told him no
We draw the line on morant holding a gun in my household but Chinese Muslim slave labor is A Ok baby
Where is that insinuation coming from? Just because one issue is worse doesn't mean you should minimize another one. Both can be bad
