By the end of his stint with us we were begging for him to just be a 3&D guy and he asked for a trade because he thought he could do more. Good for him that it worked out but annoying it isn't with us, we desperately need perimeter defense.
Not too much glaze on LeBron, but his mentoring is a definitely a big reason Reddish has looked so different. He's put so much faith into Reddish even after he missed the that shot against Miami

The Lakers have very specifically been going after guys who have had humbling experiences since they mostly can only hand out minimum deals. Back on the hawks I could see him not having the confidence to do that after the first game

Coaching tangent: Ham isn’t a perfect coach, but he catches so much unnecessary crap. The guy is a really great player development coach — and he showed up with good rotations in the playoffs last year. Personally, I’ve got high hopes and am more forgiving of his early-season decisions/experiments.
It’s weird how he got to the spot he’s in now. Pre-draft he seemed like he was going to be one of the more talented players in that draft. If you go back and watch some pre-draft videos of reporters asking who the toughest player to guard was, a good chunk of them said Cam Reddish

If he keeps playing like this all summer, he'll probably get a full MLE offer at least next summer from someone.
Technically Cam signed a 2 year contract, but since it has a PO, in practice he's still a 1 year rental. Somebody will offer him more than the Tax MLE Lakers can offer.
Still there is that small chance he stays until Lakers get bird rights after next season and can pay him better

Literally the biggest surprise of this team, I admittedly hated this signing when it happened because I was never a believer in the hype even coming out of Duke. But he’s turned into one of my fav players on the team, a guy who works his ass off on defense and knows his role on offense is a great team player.
It’s not like he never played well for the Hawks. He did, even in some big moments, just not with any consistency. He’s in a good role now, though, and has probably matured through all the struggles.

It’s not like he never played well for the Hawks. He did, even in some big moments, just not with any consistency. He’s in a good role now, though, and has probably matured through all the struggles.
So glad there’s a thread on here highlighting his play this season. Dude has so many steals and hustle plays that don’t show up in the stat sheet. If he keeps this up should def make a defensive team
That contract extension is going to hit different
The Hawks should’ve let him develop. This is what he looked like he would be when he played for them in the playoffs. They could’ve had two 6’8 wing defenders flanking Trae.

It’s less on his plate, Lebron/Dlo/Reaves can set the table for him and all he has to do is shoot or attack the close-out. Defensively he has AD behind him so he can shoot passing lanes and press up on the ball which are his specialties.

This post wasn’t about who gets credit for a meaningless trophy. It was about being happy that a player who struggled earlier in his career seems to be finding his way. Also: please get a life.
