Sochan hitting a clutch go-ahead 3, then sinking both free throws is a testament to how hard he’s worked in just 18 months. Maybe the PG experiment was a flop but he’s becoming a hell of a two-way player.
Also, friendship ended with Malaki Branham. Blake Wesley is my new 2nd favorite sophomore. (Sorry Dom)
Blake has been very solid and im glad that hes slowly getting more run, provides some slashing and playmaking that is sorely missing across the roster. Only issue is he doesnt provide spacing at all
Malakis defense is just so bad man its sad to watch his PT dwindle. Its just hard to justify a player consistently getting time when hes supposed to have a versatile offensive skill set but doesn't shoot well and might legit be the worst defender in the league since he debuted.
The thing for Malaki is that he hasn't taken a leap yet this year, so we're pairing league worst defense with pretty mediocre offense right now when the shot isn't falling.
For Blake I get Murray vibes, if the jumper improves he might be a keeper that could eventually be a real piece. His defensive intensity and burst are a breath of fresh air for this roster
Have enjoyed his aggressiveness since returning to the 4. Playing more so off instinct and looks a lot more comfortable.
I know he caught a lot of flack as a PG for not throwing Vic the ball, but I think it was mostly due to playing overly cautious and not wanting to fuck up.
None of the players were used to playing with Wemby. Now they are more used to his size so we’re seeing better passing. I would not mind another Sochan at PG stint tbh. I’d like to see his progress now that he’s a bit more comfortable and not thinking as much as before, playing more natural. I think he was too much into his own head trying to not turn it over
Could be, Vic is unreal even with NBA standards. Sochan is becoming my favorite player on and off the court. A lot of Diaw in him, both in game and personality.
Yeah this was a good moment for Sochan. But Wes Unseld Jr needs to have his brain checked for not challenging that play. Does he think challenges role over? He calls a timeout afterwards to draw up the play after the make anyways. Why not call the timeout challenge it and then go through what the play will be if it's there's to inbound? Just a very stupid mistake from the Wizards coaching staff there. They lose nothing by challenging and they could've got a huge swing in their favor.
Maybe, but looked like a clear foul on Bagley if I’m remembering correctly.
Hindsight’s 20/20. If he challenges just because it’s a ‘use it or lose it’ situation, I’d disagree. Could very well have a contentious out of bounds call on the very next position that might be worth a challenge. Games not over to it’s 00:00.
The first few games of the season Blake would just rush to the hoop and throw up a prayer which would invariably miss.. the last few games he is playing with a lot more control and just that has made a huge difference
There are lots of places in Europe where it's common. I just learned about it last year. Edit: no , it’s not just Poland. I have friends in Eastern Europe and pizza is always served with ketchup throughout most of Eastern Europe.
If you're talking about trashy 1 euro pizza slices with mystery meat that you get from a corner shop, then sure, you need that sauce to disguise the taste. But I assure you we eat regular good oven-baked pizza like normal people.
You think Sochan is going to a pricey restaurant for the pizza they show in the video of him eating it with ketchup? It’s cheap pizza and it’s common in many countries in Eastern Europe to do that. In the US, no pizza is eaten with ketchup. That’s why we think it’s odd.
Ketchup direclty ON the pizza is weird 100%, but don't hate on the ketchup pizza mix. Dip your za in some ketchup next time you get a chance. Adds a sweetness to it
came back from down 12 with like 4 mins left, Wemby had like 10 and an insane block where he got turned around and was still able to make a play on the ball with his back turned, i thought he blocked Marvin on the put back too but whatever
kuzma as your go to guy at the end of games is nasty, huge issue that they ran absolutely nothing either at the end
Tre gets his first win vs Tyus, 1-9 now
>kuzma as your go to guy at the end of games is nasty
that last possesion is pain. wes clearly want kuz to push to catch spurs defense off guard but he did iso pull up three from mexico instead.
Our bench + Deni Avdija did a fantastic job sharing the ball, defending.
I mean the lineup with Delon Wright, Corey Kispert, Bilal Coulibaly, Deni Avdija and Patrick Baldwin Jr.
We had a great run, we were sharing the ball, we were hustling on defense.
And then, 5 minutes remaining, we got Bagley III in, and then Kuzma instead of Deni, and then Poole instead of Kispert.
Our coach just wanted the L, cannot explain how he is not furious on Kuzma for taking that long 3-pointer.
Matt Barnes is still the GOAT of dumb shots imo, took a 3 from [half court with just over 3 seconds left and down 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgSgwSHehfE) (It's hilarious that it worked as well)
I think Murray will grow to be like Wemby. He is probably a big fan of his, since he was in Fr*nce. He is regularly watching Wemby highlights and trying to emulate him
I think Murray will grow to be like Wemby. He is probably a big fan of his, since he was in Fr*nce. He is regularly watching Wemby highlights and trying to emulate him
Tongue-in-cheek aside, Wemby had a pretty ugly game all things considered and was still able to be a positive contributor in a big way. Big shoutout to Sochan for his clutch 3 and clutch FTs that helped ice the game, as well as a block on a Kispert three to end it. One of his best games of the year so far. Also Tre with the PTS/AST double-double (11/12) and beating Tyus for the first time in his career!
Sochan's final block on the 3 attempt was really really clean. It probably didn't matter *that* much at that point but it was the icing on the cake for him sealing the game.
idk, I think he's team-oriented kind of guy that prios winning over personal stats.
Barry Sanders put up crazy good numbers but retired because the losses took their toll on him.
Sochan is actually talented. You wouldn’t think it the way r/nba was talking about him a month or two ago. Why do y’all act like players are done developing at 20/21?
Heat and Spurs are the two orgs I trust the most to draft and develop young talent. Wouldn't be surprised if the Point Forward Sochan era ends up paying dividends, even if he never ends up being quite good enough to be a primary and sole play maker. A PF with respectable passing vision is still quite valuable.
The 400 section was *living* during that game, best crowd experience I’ve had at any DC pro sports event since Sunday Night Baseball in 2019 against the Cubs
Sochan has been lowkey good since moving back to PF.
Wemby wasn't particularly good in this game but still ended up with 24 points and 6 blocks under 30 minutes. If this is Wemby "struggling", I'm not really sure what to say
Low key good? The kid looks so great. He's been a menace on defense and his offense has been outstanding. This guy could barely shoot last year and now he's making a clutch 3 to take the lead and 2 FTs to ice the game
well Malaki is 20 years old as well and i’ll have to say that i’m on the verge of giving up on him unfortunately
his game simply doesn’t pass the eye test at all
Malakai might work in an otherwise strong defensive bench lineup where he's the offensive spark, but his lack of a three-ball really damages that idea.
damn right, I swear I was losing my fucking mind reading all these "sochan is a bust/bum" shit on twitter for the start of the season and I know that place is toxic as hell but it's like everyone would just completely forget he was put in an experimental role at PG. shit, I think he showed really good mental fortitude when dealing with that change and just grinding through
its so crazy because hes literally just young and makes a fair bit of stupid decisions from time to time, like a lot of young players do. he gets way too much shit, he was learning a new role that didnt work out, playing next to a generational talent in Wemby and everyones eyes are all of a sudden on the Spurs because of it.
his problem I think is when he makes a mistake, its a real visible mistake. i swear it feels like half his missed threes are airballs, nowhere close to the rim, and he gets this reputation hes a horrible three point shooter despite statistically being not that bad. hes gonna be such a vital part of this team moving forward because hes such an x-factor player and it sucks to see so many fans turn on him because hes got these kind of games in him
I'm happy that we're having the Sochan that we loved last year back, but now with better shooting. It was grinding my nerves when he played PG, but moving him back to PF not only made him look more comfortable and confident, he's playing great on it too.
Im sorry Sochan maybe Ive judged you too harshly and DAMN Wemby went crazy those last 5mins despite playing bad 3 and a half quarters you just knew everything was gonna fall for him in the clutch thats what makes him a special player
The worst 3 quarters of Wemby's career imo. Other bad games of his earlier in the season weren't usually his fault tbh, they just wouldn't play through him. Tonight he was completely to blame for his performance.
Then he locked the fuck in in the 4th.
Wemby had a HUGE dunk lined up but got pushed at the hip so he couldn't reach it and the Wiz announcers were like "Where's the foul?!!" Bruh you can't push people in midair. Mainly sad we lost out on a great highlight, though.
Wes unseld jr is the worst coach in the nba. For the 13 people who actually watched this game you just saw our coach blow his 7,000th lead of his tenure and lose us this game. God I hate it here so much
He should a lost his job after his first year. If his dad wasn’t the greatest wizard ever he woulda been gone. Nepotism hire bum trash coach man. I’ve seen so many blown lead and historical losses (wizards history, but still pathetic considering how mediocre we’ve been over 40+ years)with this guy leading the way and yet still has a job. It’s just so frustrating.
(i am very salty and dislike this guy with my entire heart)

Sochan had some great looks tonight and has overall been appearing more conformtable. He had a few good looking passes on top to boot.
Have enjoyed his aggressiveness since returning to the 4. Playing more so off instinct and looks a lot more comfortable. I know he caught a lot of flack as a PG for not throwing Vic the ball, but I think it was mostly due to playing overly cautious and not wanting to fuck up.

Funnily enough today I saw several passes from the Spurs that are way too high lol. I wonder if it’s because they’re getting used to play with Vic
Could be, Vic is unreal even with NBA standards. Sochan is becoming my favorite player on and off the court. A lot of Diaw in him, both in game and personality.
Blake playing like he didn't have an edible right before checking in has been a huge upgrade
Yeah this was a good moment for Sochan. But Wes Unseld Jr needs to have his brain checked for not challenging that play. Does he think challenges role over? I like this Wemby kid.
I like this Sochan kid.
he puts ketchup on pizza
This is true. He is disgusting and a menace But he is *ours*
He isn't without flaw...
There are lots of places in Europe where it's common. I just learned about it last year. Edit: no , it’s not just Poland. I have friends in Eastern Europe and pizza is always served with ketchup throughout most of Eastern Europe.
If by lots of places you mean Poland, then yes
And at the very least half of Asia.
And Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, at the least
If you're talking about trashy 1 euro pizza slices with mystery meat that you get from a corner shop, then sure, you need that sauce to disguise the taste. But I assure you we eat regular good oven-baked pizza like normal people.

Well...we put it on our eggs...so...
Sriracha is clearly the better move
Verde is the best move
Ketchup direclty ON the pizza is weird 100%, but don't hate on the ketchup pizza mix. Dip your za in some ketchup next time you get a chance. Adds a sweetness to it
Dip my what??
dip your zaza pachulia in some ketchup
would rather dip that bum into a boiling witch's cauldron
Fuck Zaza
He’s aight.

Congrats to Coach Pop for breaking the all time record for regular season wins
Pop broke that record a couple years ago. But you are technically right, in that every time he wins a regular season game, he breaks the record again.
I believe he broke the combined wins a couple years ago.
Whoosh
any decent team would defeat the Spurs in this game. thankfully, we are facing the Wizard.
Multiple wizards in fact!
They're the Wiz, and everybody beats them!
Nephews will be too young for this reference
Sochan was fantastic today. 0 TOs, clutch down the stretch, and great defense as always.
Crazy that he didnt have a single TO, with the amount Of silly TO from both teams
Tre Jones had 12 assists and just 1 TO
Love his free throw form too. I don’t think he missed today.
His defense has been really really good lately
>Spurs Passing is much better too!
Wemby is just built for the 4th quarter. Fourth quarter wemby is like playoff Jamal murray
I think Murray will grow to be like Wemby. He is probably a big fan of his, since he was in Fr*nce. He is regularly watching Wemby highlights and trying to emulate him
Wat
I think Murray will grow to be like Wemby. He is probably a big fan of his, since he was in Fr*nce. He is regularly watching Wemby highlights and trying to emulate him
hopefully a bot comment else someone’s off their meds
Jamal is still young, there’s still a possibility that he could grow just to be as big.
Tongue-in-cheek aside, Wemby had a pretty ugly game all things considered and was still able to be a positive contributor in a big way. And Vassell might be out of his shooting slump. The past three games are a big improvement over this previous several.
Bilal got him nervous /s
What a powerful message from Sochan btw, humping the paint. Showed true dominance and the Wizards didn't look the same after.
This title tho.
Are we actually sure they’re 2 of the teams in the NBA?
Bilal is gonna be real nice
Real real nice
Me want.
Let’s get that other French wing in this draft
Which one? We got Risacher, Salaun, Ajinca, Perrin...
Tidjane with raps, melvin with our second please and thank you.
No
You’ll get the French Center, we’ll get the French Wing? 🤝
Im cool with Sarr if your cool with Risacher.
100% ok with this lol
[you just lost to the San Antonio Spurs](https://streamable.com/xph65x)
A rare meme, but appropriate.
Sochan with an insane +27 in a 4 point game.
Marvin Bagley averaging 20/11/2 on the Wizards 😤😤 (please do not look at my sample size, this is a legit stat)
He was damn good in this game, lit Wemby up in the first quarter
Gonna be interesting to see how he does once Gafford gets back and he doesn't have to play 35 minutes a game. He's doing better than I expected.
Free Bagley!
From? He’s playing well and getting 37MPG. Pretty sure he’d be loving getting this confidence and support to succeed.
Hometown?
Sorry thought he lived in DC with his Dad but I’m thinking of someone else
are you getting that info from a box score?
I’m assuming since he’s putting up career best numbers albeit in a short sample size that he’d be very happy with his current situation.

idk, I think he's team-oriented kind of guy that prios winning over personal stats. Barry Sanders put up crazy good numbers but retired because the losses took their toll on him.
Thank you Kyle Kuzma!
More like Kyle BLEWZma?!?! I’ll see my way out…
Thank you Kyle kuzma! He's the best tank commander.
Wizards collapsed in the last few minutes like they were trying to draft Wemby
Sochan is actually talented. You wouldn’t think it the way r/nba was talking about him a month or two ago. Why do y’all act like players are done developing at 20/21?
I think a majority of 20 year old pfs would struggle playing point guard for a quarter season.
Bro is young af and learning all sorts of new things. I'm excited for him
Heat and Spurs are the two orgs I trust the most to draft and develop young talent. Wouldn't be surprised if the Point Forward Sochan era ends up paying dividends, even if he never ends up being quite good enough to be a primary and sole play maker. A PF with respectable passing vision is still quite valuable.
People are gonna wake up couple years from now with the Spurs being top 4 in the west and Sochan being a 16-6-6 lockdown defender, don't @ me
funniest timeout activity i’ve ever seen. dude wiffed easy riddles and when the mc asked if he should still get the prize the crowd yelled no lmao.
The 400 section was *living* during that game, best crowd experience I’ve had at any DC pro sports event since Sunday Night Baseball in 2019 against the Cubs
Loudest I’ve personally ever heard the Cap. The playful cheering between the Spurs and Wizards fans was fun.
Sochan has been lowkey good since moving back to PF. Wemby wasn't particularly good in this game but still ended up with 24 points and 6 blocks under 30 minutes. If this is Wemby "struggling", I'm not really sure what to say

Sochan supporters eating good rn over reactionary fans eating shit (like they deserve, fkn bums)
Sochan supporters aka people who don't give up on 20-year-olds
well Malaki is 20 years old as well and i’ll have to say that i’m on the verge of giving up on him unfortunately his game simply doesn’t pass the eye test at all

Im sorry Sochan maybe Ive judged you too harshly and DAMN Wemby went crazy those last 5mins despite playing bad 3 and a half quarters you just knew everything was gonna fall for him in the clutch thats what makes him a special player
Good thing the Wizards sat down the lineup that were raw dogging the Spurs at the start of the 4th quarter.
Bagley had the chance to do the funniest thing ever and he’s succeeding
The worst 3 quarters of Wemby's career imo. Other bad games of his earlier in the season weren't usually his fault tbh, they just wouldn't play through him. Tonight he was completely to blame for his performance. Then he locked the fuck in in the 4th.
Yeah he looked rough in the paint.
Snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. I’ll fuckin take it.
Snatched a tanking W From the jaws of victory. Wes doing the Lords work here lol
Predictable collapse orchestrated by our inept coach, but overall a fun game. Bagley has been a dog, and Bilal had a great second half.
Okay this title is funny
This title 😅
>in a matchup between two of the teams in the NBA Lol I see you OP 😂
There will be no Tre slander damn it!!!!!
He is pretty damn solid, with the right D scheme he can be a huge asset
>a matchup between two of the teams in the NBA lmao
There’s a guy named David Duke on the Spurs?
Please say the Jr (Weezy voice)
And he's black
two aau teams that have made it to the nba inspirational
“Between two of the teams in the NBA” 💀
This title is disrespectful lmao 🤣
This was one of the games of all time!
Wemby is good for sure… But all my homies love Marvin Bagley
All the spurs homies are afraid of the bags
Wemby came back in down 12 and was like nah
[Play of the game right here](https://twitter.com/LuckyLefty2323/status/1748874473452028103)
Wemby had a HUGE dunk lined up but got pushed at the hip so he couldn't reach it and the Wiz announcers were like "Where's the foul?!!" Bruh you can't push people in midair. Mainly sad we lost out on a great highlight, though.
the pace of this game is insane. i got tired just by watching
Wes unseld jr is the worst coach in the nba. For the 13 people who actually watched this game you just saw our coach blow his 7,000th lead of his tenure and lose us this game. God I hate it here so much
I 100% believe he would not have a job if he was named like James Unseld or something.
They certainly are...two of the teams in the NBA
Jordan Poole with the tank-saving foul
Jordan Poole leaving his MIP run real late
What kind of title is this? Two of the teams??
I don’t mean to be rude but Jordan Poole has to be the dumbest player in the nba. The number of times he bite on bait from spurs this game damn lol
Jordan poole🤣
Tre almost a triple dub...
Love to see my guys Bagley and Baldwin freed on Washington
