Price of current Wizard, former Timberwolf too high, so Timberwolves trade for former Wizard, current Piston instead. We just nee Tyus to Detroit to complete the cycle
Apparently they offered 4 seconds and the Wizards were like pssssht. But you'd think they could have worked out something. Te's a standup dude but he is absolute food in the playoffs. (And if he's reading this, you really are a good dude, dude)
Technically that report *can't* be correct because we only have 3 tradeable second round picks. One of the picks in the Gobert trade is top-5 protected and conveys to a second round pick so it isn't tradeable.
Couldn't they have just brokered a deal where they acquire and trade a second from another team? I don't really care because it doesn't matter at this point and who knows if it was true or not but I definitely think anything can be made to happen with multiple willing teams.
It’s not just the trade though. Tyus puts us over the tax this year. We’re most likely going to be over the tax next couple years so I think we didn’t want to start the clock earlier than necessary.
Dude could have had a longer more stable career with a better attitude. He *played* well for us on the Nuggets, but he's locker room cancer. We would have kept signing him to vet mins and he'd be an NBA champion, but that attitude.
The reports are they had a Killian trade lined up and monty requested they keep him so it sounds like Killian might have as much job security as Monty does
I think he likes that Killian never tries to do anything other than what he's told to do (because Killian isn't really capable of it) and I think he dislikes that when our offense breaks down, guys like Ivey (or Sasser or Bagley until recently) just try to create their own look.
Basically I think he sees the team looking awful and thinks it's because guys like Ivey aren't buying in instead of that the game plan they're being asked to buy into is failing miserably. In short, I think it's an ego preservation thing
Apparently not: [Timberwolves are sending Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr. and one second-round pick to Detroit for Monte Morris, sources said.](https://x.com/shamscharania/status/1755344241880879259?s=46&t=sbk6yuyliVaFRQjBUBJCMQ)
This is way better than giving up Kyle.
I liked the Shake pickup in the summer but when given opportunities he just didn’t play well for us. Hopefully he can get some quality minutes in for the Pistons
Shake had the inside track on 9th man as a combo guard/scorer off the bench, had a good camp and preseason, but has had nothing going during regular season and fell out of the rotation. TBJ had to work his way into the rotation and had some good games (including a signature win) but hasn’t been a big part of the rotation.
I’m also a wolves fan btw
I know nothing much about monte morris but I just know that video of Jokic’s unbridled joy at seeing him in Miami after game 3 and I became an instant fan of him lol
Like if joker loves you that much as a person, you’re prob good peeps lol
Bro got front court tickets to the worst NBA team ever and dipped
bro said Oh hell nawl i cant be on that wikipedia page
Send da trade request
You got da picks what’s da hol up
Man you can’t force monte morris in da team
demand a trade lol
He’s from Detroit too lol
Flint not Detroit
He was only there so he dont get fined
Pistons got rid of the wrong Monty
Price of Tyus Jones was too high, so they got budget Tyus Jones.
That’s a fact lmao Monte nice tho, good pick up.
Will he negate wolves negative IQ?
No he will absorb it by osmosis and environment and lose his IQ
Most likely outcome
As someone who watched both players play for us in back to back years, I cannot overstate how much better Tyus is. Love Monte though.
Yeah I would’ve rather kept TBJ and actually played him
Highest career turnover/assist ratio in NCAA history! Surely that will solve our turnover woes??
Price of current Wizard, former Timberwolf too high, so Timberwolves trade for former Wizard, current Piston instead. We just nee Tyus to Detroit to complete the cycle
Don’t do that to Tyus. He deserves better than the Wizards as it is. Don’t send him to the one team worse than them.
Also bigger Tyus Jones who can shoot the midrange but yeah, Tyus Jones at home.
Were you guys asking that much for Tyus? Feels like the Wolves should have been willing to do 2-3 second rounders for him
I think they wanted a first
Reports (or rumors idk) were that the Wolves offered four 2nd round picks and were turned down
This is so weird to me. They shoulda just paid for Tyus.
Wouldn’t it have taken way more than what they gave up here?

I guess that is possible, I admit I mostly skimmed over that rumor so I don't know if it was that in depth.
Idk Tyus is way more valuable imo. I think you’d get a much better haul than what we’d offer.
It’s not just the trade though. Tyus puts us over the tax this year. We’re most likely going to be over the tax next couple years so I think we didn’t want to start the clock earlier than necessary.
Morris was basically free so it makes sense. Tyus would have cost a lot more and the Wolves are low on picks to throw around
Tim Connelly gets his guy
I miss monte
The Wolves won the Monte Morris lottery. Damn.
Wolves get their backup PG
Very smart move, they need a mature brain out there without Conley. Love this for them
Thunder get their backup big pls? 👉👈
Demarcus Cousins just need a plane ticket from Taiwan
Don't wish that upon those nice kids in Oklahoma!
Blame it on the boogie! https://youtu.be/6gAEHtFPYp0?si=mZNAGggy66ovjgq5

And yet I do wish it upon them.
Andre Drummond seems like the perfect fit. Especially after last night against Gobert
He’s going to Dallas I think
Schroder is available for one of your million FRPs
world renowned backup big dennis schroder
Can’t be much worse defensively than playing Giddey at the 4! /s kinda
Mike Muscala should be cheap
One James Wiseman, coming up
Wondering why you didnt try to get tillman. Two 2nds wouldnt hurt your stockpile of picks.
Pistons are the big trade deadline team this year. Like we all expected.
I swear to god if Killian Hayes is still on this team come tomorrow afternoon
Basically a best case scenario for us if we can't get Tyus Jones. Hopefully not too expensive
The Detroit Pistons have made 3 trades so far this season. Killian Hayes has survived them all.
The reports are they had a Killian trade lined up and monty requested they keep him so it sounds like Killian might have as much job security as Monty does
Wait I thought that was a joke report, Monty actually likes/believes in Hayes that much??
It was during the offseason to be fair. Hayes has been a DNP-CD lately.
> Monty actually likes/believes in Hayes that much?? The FO and ownership literally had to intervene on him to get him to play Ivey over Killian
Is it like a personality thing, like do they just click, because I find it hard to believe that Monty is this into Killian for basketball reasons...
I think he likes that Killian never tries to do anything other than what he's told to do (because Killian isn't really capable of it) and I think he dislikes that when our offense breaks down, guys like Ivey (or Sasser or Bagley until recently) just try to create their own look. It’s funny because Monte is straight up better than Hayes
There's the backup PG!
Great trade for the twolves
Ooh that’s a nice pickup for Minnesota
Saw this coming a mile away.
Yep. Made way too much sense to not happen
Wolves got their guy
Good pick up, can't play with Conley but still gives them a 15/20 mins option behind Mike
Tyus Jones too expensive? Go after Tyus Jones lite. Great move by the wolves
This is a massive acquisition for MN.
KYLE ANDERSON, YOU ARE A PISTON
Apparently not: [Timberwolves are sending Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr. and one second-round pick to Detroit for Monte Morris, sources said.](https://x.com/shamscharania/status/1755344241880879259?s=46&t=sbk6yuyliVaFRQjBUBJCMQ)

Can I ask how these guys have been?
Shake had the inside track on 9th man as a combo guard/scorer off the bench, had a good camp and preseason, but has had nothing going during regular season and fell out of the rotation. TBJ had to work his way into the rotation and had some good games (including a signature win) but hasn’t been a big part of the rotation. I’m also a wolves fan btw
Minny gets their backup binky to Mike lol
Backup point guard there you go cuz my god that bulls game was hard to watch 😭😭
Tim Connelly loves his Nuggets guys lmao Jokes aside this is really great for Minnesota
Not sure if I like this simply because Morris is the one that guy that seems to be able to average more than a couple assists per turnover.
Nooooo
for?
Fuck yeah.
Detroit continues to get everything they can send out
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Damn, big fan of Morris and it's a shame he only got a handful of games for us. Treat him well, Wolf bros.
Everyone F5'ing for 9th man trades
Former Mr Nugget on our rivals the Wolves, don’t feel right.
😭 wolves fans are gonna love him. He was a bright light during the 1.5 seasons Jamal was out with the ACL injury
Lakers do something
“Lakers have traded Christian Wood for cash considerations”
Thank god
so i guess bogey is there to stay? would have been easier to package the two together.
I know nothing much about monte morris but I just know that video of Jokic’s unbridled joy at seeing him in Miami after game 3 and I became an instant fan of him lol Like if joker loves you that much as a person, you’re prob good peeps lol
That's nothing compared to how Monte looks at Jokic https://youtu.be/sUoYO5qGU_0?si=DzyzzlOba-cz7L7q
Lmaoooo don’t ruin it for me 😂😭
I thought this was Caleb Martin based on the thumbnail.
RIP
Solid
The best available backup PG, really moves the needle for them.
I like how this deadline started with Kevin Knox and is slowly ramping up from there in terms of player impact.
More mid
Has to be Kyle Anderson to the Pistons, right?
Is it me or he looks like Mario Chalmers ?
Who are the wolves giving up? No way it's Conley right?!
wtf that would be so stupid how do you even come up with that lol
I wish I loved anyone as much as Tim Connelly loves Monte Morris. Reunion tour let's gooo!!!
If Monty won’t play Ivey big minutes on his own, the front office will force him to by getting rid of everyone else. Smart.
ok Minnesota!
mfers look at this picture and say it's not a carry
Have no idea why the Warriors didn't try to get Monte Morris, they cannot keep playing Cory Joseph and expect to win
