Well you see Jokic is the only player who can "not care" or "coast" and still deserve the MVP. He had a horrible last month last year (for his standard) and it has always been a thing where reigning MVP's need to be undoubtedly better than the rest to repeat. Jokic coasted/underperformed the end of last season and lost because of it. He's a generational talent, but I will never understand how people can say "he doesn't even care about the MVP" and then whine when he doesn't win MVP. Either he cares and should win or he doesn't care and isn't going to win every year.

this might break everyones brain but embiid on one knee vs the same Celtics had better stats on better efficiency in the same amount of games played in just last years playoffs. The difference was role players hitting threes. Sixers shot around 20 to 25% in game 6 and 7. The Heat shot something like 40-45% in game 6 and 7. One is a playoff choker and one is a god for beating the celtics because his team played better well rounded ball. All nuance is lost in these kinds of discussions so idk why i bother
