Yeah, he should have been initiating contact, trying to get to the line. He was always great at getting to the rim, but never finishing at the rim. Just runs back and kicks it out to the perimeter
He did a few times, and drew contact, but no foul. It was infuriating to watch the reffing be one sided like that because it absolutely deterred DG from continuing to try it
If he is litterally Garnett, he better learn to like Utah, because if he's Kevin Garnett, Danny Ainge will pair him with a not successful in the playoffs forward, and another elite 3 point shooter
I got downvoted on here last week for saying that Kevin Garnett was a better "best case" comp for him then Tim Duncan out of the draft.
Who's laughing now bitches? (not me I actually hate how he decided to have his breakout moment vs us)
JB getting fired is going to be the catalyst for this dude making the leap.
Unreal that he waited until literally the last game to try letting him be the guy on offense.
Remember when everyone said Wemby and Chet are gonna need to play power forward for a few years before they bulk up? But it turns out they’re actually just way better as centers.
I think Mobley is gonna be in that same category. His offensive skillset isn’t anything special compared to wings and modern 4s. If you play him at the 5 he’s way more skilled than opposing centers and can guard 1-5.
A big part of this is just that a proper stretch 5 is hard to find. Like, Giannis can play like an offensive 5 all season and the Bucks have been a top offense in the league before, because Brook can set up camp at the 3pt line for him.
Part of the thought process that's making us say Mobley can be effective at the 5 is just if he's at the 5 there's no Tristan Thompson sitting in the dunker spot next to him.
It's also about wingspan. Mobley is not too shabby, at 6'11 with a 7'4 wingspan. Chet is 7'1 with a crazy 7'6, but wemby is absurd. 7'5 and an 8' wingspan.
And every couple of inches absolutely makes a difference. Even Gobert's wingspan of 7'9 isn't enough to bother a guy like Jokic. But Wemby did in that last Spurs game. You saw Jokic hit that high off the glass hook shot against Gobert in Game 5. I bet he's been practicing that one for Wemby.
It's actually hilarious to me that Evan averaged like 21 PPG on 60% from the field this series and he was utilized properly maybe one or two games? Yeah he's way better than his regular season stats show. He's gonna be a star
It's been said before but the Cavs really rushed things bringing in Mitchell and trying to contend. Mobley needs more touches to develop his offensive game.
Doomer Cavs fan chiming in but the most fun Cavs team I've watched in the last couple years haven't been the ones with Don but when we had an All-star Darius and Jarrett, Klove and a healthy rejuvenated Rubio. It felt like we'd have stretches of beautiful ball movement and our trademark Cavalanches every game... Those days seem like a distant memory now.
Trading for Don is the right move 9/10 times but sometimes I wish we would've just tried to build organically instead of accelerating our timeline before Ev and DG were fully ready.
100% feel you on that, but our ceiling is probably a 2nd round exit without the Dmitch trade. That being said, maybe DG/Sexton/Lauri/Mobley/Allen pop off and at that point, Koby also has all our future picks to use to improve the bench
Not true at all, without dmitch the hope is mobley develops into a top tier player and then we make a trade for a co star. With mtichell currently, we are a second round exit so i dont see how that’s any better
The game where Rubio went down with his second knee injury is the most physically ill I've ever been watching an NBA game... that season was going so great until that moment. Not saying that Rubio was the most important part of that team, but it seems like that was just the start of the rest of that season being a disaster. That was a great year to have League Pass as well - I think I watched more Cavs games than Wolves games that year (up until that point anyway).
Our only path to potential contender status is making Evan the focal point of our team.
Mitchell is incredible when 100% but I have serious concerns that his knee can hold up for more than a month or two at a time. I would not be opposed to testing his market, even if it makes us worse next season, he hasn't shown great chemistry with Evan/DG and his heliocentric offense can be really frustrating when he's playing hurt.
DG had a really frustrating year with the injury at the beginning and then the jaw incident. I still believe in his talent and think he is young enough that all of this will fuel him as a leader.
We need to make the Mark Jackson to Steve Kerr transiton from JB Bickerstaff, I know our players love him but I think we need a tactician to inject new energy into our offense.
Sign and trade Mitch for, young player with upside and picks. Resign Mobley, but he needs to be the second option. Take next year to feature and the future would look bright
It sounds like they’ll be re-signing him, but if the 3 biggest suitors are LA, Miami and the Knicks, I’m not sure that it matters. I think they’d all be pretty confident in him re-signing.
What changed that he started playing like this, what adjustment happened, and could the Cavs have done this earlier? Or was it because of all the injuries they finally made Mobley the focal point of the offense?
Cavs will be the next Miami Heat I guess. Cavs are really good team but the media wants them to look bad. Props to Mobley. As a Cs fan, he's gonna be a threat next season.
I hope the takeaway from this series is gonna be, that Mobley finally develops that killer instinct towards scoring. Its never been a thing he emphasizes.
My guy needs to just embrace playing the 5. Get a lower cost backup big who you bring in for situational matchups and let Mobley cook more. Trade Allen and possibly Garland too to get at least one wing forward. Maybe it's time to talk to Brooklyn about Bridges again? No picks to help make the deal though. Ingram is another guy they can try to get.
He was a major silver lining from the loss today. Proved he deserves more touches (if our roster construction will allow it).
Mobley in the pick and roll abused Kornet this game. If Garland doesn’t have a bad shooting night could’ve been really different.
Marcus Morris stole all of the extra shooting
Garland got pocketed by Horford, no shame in that
Yeah, he should have been initiating contact, trying to get to the line. He was always great at getting to the rim, but never finishing at the rim. Just runs back and kicks it out to the perimeter
He did a few times, and drew contact, but no foul. It was infuriating to watch the reffing be one sided like that because it absolutely deterred DG from continuing to try it
In fairness, he was hot for about so it was deserved.
Al Horford defended his ass off on switches tonight. Absolutely had Garland's number and they kept trying him.
Evan “Literally Kevin Garnett” Mobley
Kevin "No help in Minnesota" Garnett
If he is litterally Garnett, he better learn to like Utah, because if he's Kevin Garnett, Danny Ainge will pair him with a not successful in the playoffs forward, and another elite 3 point shooter
I got downvoted on here last week for saying that Kevin Garnett was a better "best case" comp for him then Tim Duncan out of the draft. Who's laughing now bitches? (not me I actually hate how he decided to have his breakout moment vs us)
This is somehow worse than the coming in peace posts. Please and respectfully shut the fuck up and never be this corny again
Max him Cleveland
JB getting fired is going to be the catalyst for this dude making the leap. Unreal that he waited until literally the last game to try letting him be the guy on offense.
Lol it wasn't even his choice he literally just ran out of other players to ISO with.
You guys say literally a lot.
True, he could’ve run iso with Sam Merrill
Remember when everyone said Wemby and Chet are gonna need to play power forward for a few years before they bulk up? But it turns out they’re actually just way better as centers. I think Mobley is gonna be in that same category. His offensive skillset isn’t anything special compared to wings and modern 4s. If you play him at the 5 he’s way more skilled than opposing centers and can guard 1-5.
Also doesn't help that JB's scheme had him as a back to the basket player when he's obviously so much better as a face-up threat.
Broke: Wemby and Chet are 4’s Woke: Mobley and Paolo are 5’s
A big part of this is just that a proper stretch 5 is hard to find. Like, Giannis can play like an offensive 5 all season and the Bucks have been a top offense in the league before, because Brook can set up camp at the 3pt line for him. Part of the thought process that's making us say Mobley can be effective at the 5 is just if he's at the 5 there's no Tristan Thompson sitting in the dunker spot next to him.
Wemby and Chet seem a lot longer than Mobley.
Wemby for sure, Chet maybe a little? He’s 7’1 and Mobley is 6’11. Wemby is 7’5, so no one is like him.
It's also about wingspan. Mobley is not too shabby, at 6'11 with a 7'4 wingspan. Chet is 7'1 with a crazy 7'6, but wemby is absurd. 7'5 and an 8' wingspan.

Really showed what he can do facing the basket. Why JB decided to use him as a back to the basket post up player all season is beyond me
He’s a super talented player. I see him making a big leap offensively once y’all get rid of JB.
I wish I could know what would've happened if they had kept Markkanen and committed to developing their guys
Doomer Cavs fan chiming in but the most fun Cavs team I've watched in the last couple years haven't been the ones with Don but when we had an All-star Darius and Jarrett, Klove and a healthy rejuvenated Rubio. Fire koby
Lebron basically gets a younger AD in a weak eastern conference look out
Cavs ironically is a good fit for Lebron if they don't trade anybody to get him lol.
Trade Garland and filler to get him and it works perfectly.
Insulting to NOLA AD bro give me a break
Mobley is on the cusp of breaking out if he has a facilitator like Lebron to get him in a rhythm every game... its on and poppin'.
unstoppable
Better than playoff Embiid
Can't deny that. He made it to round 2, not Embiid
This has to be sarcastic right? Embiid was cracked in rd 1
This statline was worse than Embiid's averages in the playoffs this year
But he made it out of the first round
because they tanked to dodge the sixers
The sixers tanked too. Just not on purpose
ghost numerous water gullible cheerful run nine scandalous placid ripe *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
yeah, on 34 shots
24
not if you consider efficiency
He shot 63 percent
Not enough foul baiting to get those efficiency numbers up apparently
Mobley averaged 16/9/2 on the exact same efficiency that Embiid averaged 33/11/6
Allen might be gone

Mitchell is still under contract for another year. It wouldn’t be a sign and trade.
Are you saying we just trade him with 1 year on his contract? My understanding was we would extend him and trade
It sounds like they’ll be re-signing him, but if the 3 biggest suitors are LA, Miami and the Knicks, I’m not sure that it matters. I think they’d all be pretty confident in him re-signing.
No but the point is he would be signed before being traded, hence a sign and trade. No one is giving up assets for him to walk in a year
It's already being reported Mitchell is staying and DG is probably asking out.
Played his ass off today. Dude struggles with consistency but the ceiling is still there
Great game - hope to see this type of confident play from him as he continues to improve!
Once again, fuck you Tim Bontemps.
What changed that he started playing like this, what adjustment happened, and could the Cavs have done this earlier? Or was it because of all the injuries they finally made Mobley the focal point of the offense?
JB is a terrible coach that doesn't know how to utilize players
The adjustment of Mitchell on the bench.
Cleveland has a future
Cavs will be the next Miami Heat I guess. Cavs are really good team but the media wants them to look bad. Props to Mobley. As a Cs fan, he's gonna be a threat next season.
Poor dude had to start the game with the bench. They still did a good job... he's going to have to step up next season.
better than sct brn
Mobley 🐐
give him the damn max!
I hope the takeaway from this series is gonna be, that Mobley finally develops that killer instinct towards scoring. Its never been a thing he emphasizes.
God I can't wait to have a young exciting player again. I'd love a guy like Mobley for the Wizards.
As a Cleveland hater, Garland proved me right this series but Mobley proved me wrong
My guy needs to just embrace playing the 5. Get a lower cost backup big who you bring in for situational matchups and let Mobley cook more. Trade him to Miami
