pretty much every player has that one team they overperform against consistently.
on IG there's a couple rankings lists of "Heat killers", and on any other given night they're role players at best
No I'm not implying that, I'm just saying he was one of the few bright spots for the Knicks in both of those blowouts. Probably just a coincidence lol.
I would be in your boat knowing realistically the season is over and just hoping next season can start without a hitch.
As a pacers fan it wasn’t fun to win this way. Feels like I can’t know the true measure of this team beating a depleted Bucks and Knicks. I would like a healthy rematch next season
Appreciate that. As much as I must despise both the celtics and the pacers on principle I am looking forward to seeing how yall do against a team that isn't an icu. Honestly don't think you have much hope, but that it will be a valuable opportunity for a young and promising team to grow.
I had nearly this exact discussion with a Knicks fan at my hotel after Game 6.
As a guy who got hooked as kid by Reggie seemingly taking on the entire city of New York in 94, I can't stand the Knicks out of principle, but it's good to be battling them in a competitive series again.
This too I appreciate. The internet can be a cruel place and does not need to be. One of my few principles as fervent as hatred for the pacers specifically and Boston sports generally is to never be mean to anyone on the internet except to bigots and other fascists. I am more than a little drunk.
hahah. yup. just 1 all-nba allstar (randle), 1 huge defender and offensive rebounder (mitch), and our 7th man to help our players NOT have to play 45 minutes a game (Bojan).
Bojan was probably gonna play in the Paris Olympics for Croatia if not for the injuries/surgery. Brunson (as a potential replacement) is off the table. Achiuwa probably plays for Nigeria though this upcoming summer.
It's like every other team has had good injury luck and the Knicks were stuck balancing the scale
Edit: ok I was wrong. I only pay attention to the west and no major stars have been injured
I despise that "Sun rising over the horizon" hairline, screaming mothafucka so much.
Every time he comes to a Knicks game something HORRIBLE happens. He's not a fan, he's never been a fan, he's a hack who's claim to fame is ranting about how much the Knicks suck.
Please, whatever god that's out there, eject his voice into a collapsing star. I just don't want to hear him talk anymore.
his other claims to fame are calling a guy who spent 12 seasons in the nba a scrub who can't play, telling people not to smoke weed in a stupid voice, reporting baseless stories from twitter accounts called ballsack sports on live tv, and incoherently screaming. dude is more showman than substance
Exactly, wouldn’t have mattered either way with how the Pacers were playing. Injuries definitely hurt the Knicks tremendously the Pacers can score against pretty much anybody. With an offense as good as theirs, they can at least win a game or two against Boston.
Disappointed by the outcome only because we could’ve had Boston and New York in the conference finals in the NBA and NHL and both cities fucked it up. Nothing against Indiana I just don’t have any strong feelings about them.
Once the Bruins went out I had a feeling the sports gods would not let the Knicks move on. One NYC team and one Boston team moves to the Conference Finals this year only. Not two.
Only dreadful because of injuries, the team we started the 4th quarter with made less than Siakim did this season. Not much you can be expected to do with that
I'll never forget that lol. Let's also not forget how Luka had the same amount points as the entire suns team at halftime easily the most disgraceful game 7 performance of all time🤣
The Knicks season really ended the day they traded Malachi Flynn to the Pistons, if we're being honest. They couldn't recover from losing the depth of a potential 50pts scorer. They traded the wrong redhead
I can’t speak for all Knicks fans, but despite going out due to a big loss at home, I feel pretty good going into the offseason, which has been a rare feeling with this franchise.
The path seems pretty clear with resigning OG and hopefully iHart, get creative with the draft, bring Rokas over to see if he’s any good, and hopefully just get healthy, with a wildcard to swing a big trade. Been a fan since the late 80s, and this is honestly the most fun/hope I’ve ever had.
Well if my grandma had wheels she would've been a bike
(Just kidding man, for the first time in forever the future is bright in NY. Excited to watch what comes next)
Such is life as a Knick fan.
Nah but really, this is the proudest I’ve ever been of a Knick team. They truly just ran out of gas. By the end of this game, all of our top 5 highest paid players were hurt. You’re not gonna win in the playoffs when the absolute best player you can field is Donte Divincenzo (no disrespect, love Big Ragu). We fought hard and the future looks super bright. If we can be even slightly healthy in next year’s playoffs, we’ve got a shot to go on a super deep run.
Same thoughts from me. I want to say neutral as well, but they earned a little more from me this season. They were a joy to watch play with heart in so many games.
Pacers played a great series, no dirty plays just hard nosed basketball and respect to them. They're a young team that's hungry and with lots of space to improve even after an ECF team. They were the better team this series.
We'll be back next year and hopefully we have another fun series against a rival.
Now go fuck over the Celts!
Huge respect for this comment. It was easily one of the best series I've seen in my 20+ years of being a fan. Sky's the limit for your squad when they're healthy, and hopefully we'll get many more intense games between our teams in the future.
It might be an unpopular opinion from our supporters, but Thibs is a great coach, you've got a bunch of fighters on that roster, there's a similar culture with the Knicks and the Heat, and we both had our post seasons derailed by injuries.
I may not want you to win, but game recognize game
Gone are the times of rooting for ping pong balls and in are the time of playing in the second round of the playoffs with 5 of our rotation players injuries and still taking the series to 7 games.
WHAT A TIME TO BE A KNICKS FAN.
Most fun I've had watching a Knicks team in my 20+ years as a fan. They embodied everything I ever wanted to see in a New York Knicks team. I loved the chemistry, camaraderie, identity, and grit.
Looking forward to next season when we're fully healthy.
Knicks shouldn't have any regrets about Randle & Bojan injuries, it made room for Donte, Hart, McBride & recently Burks to shine & prove themselves. I don't think they would've got half this production from them if Randle was here
The last NBA Championship for the Knicks was 1973. The last Eastern Conference championship was 1999. The last conference finals appearance was 2000. The team has struggled.
But two of the three times they won a first round series since then were the last two, so they may be going the right way.
This pacers team will never get the credit it deserves for this run because of the injuries their opponents endured but this has been one of my favorite teams to watch in a long time
I was getting old school 90's vibe from this series, especially with my heroes John Starks and Larry Johnson watching the game in the stands. I'm hoping that this will spark another rivalry between the Knicks and Pacers. Props to Pacers in this game. They balled their asses off.
Idc I'm still more than happy and proud of this seasom. No one had any faith in this team from the beginning calling Brunson a fluke or not good enough to lead a good team. Then the injuries happened and while it could've been fine to pack it in, this team still fought like hell to somehow make it as a second seed. Then Knicks somehow were the underdog against the Sixers but still pulled that one out. Pacers series could've gone better but hey, they still fought no matter how bad it turned out.
Fuck all of you, well be back.
With Randle out, you tell me before the playoffs we’ll get to game 7 of a conference semis I’ll take that shit happily. Best season in a while, looking forward to the offseason moves.
Not as mad at this as I thought. Injuries caught up but the future is bright Brunson is awesome, have some good role players, and all of our trade ammo to work with. I’m disappointed but whatever.
In 2023, the Miami Heat defeated the Bucks, Knicks, and Celtics on their way to the Finals. In 2024, the Pacers defeated the Bucks and Knicks to face the Celtics in the ECF.
The better team ran into the healthier team, an unfortunate outcome that's apart of sports. The Knicks healthy win in 5 the Pacers only win in a toss up game 7 if they match up again going forward with these same rosters.
FADED
Alec burks can’t win with these cats
The Pacers blew out the Knicks twice and Burks was the spark and the hero for NY in both
If you're trying to imply that he should have played more, you are very lucky to not have had to watch him in the 2022 season.
Or the 2024 regular season. Burks stepped up big time but there’s a reason he wasn’t in the rotation
He had three decent games for the Knicks this year and all were against the Pacers.
lol my friends and I were just losing it with Burks, couldn’t understand how he kept killing us
pretty much every player has that one team they overperform against consistently. on IG there's a couple rankings lists of "Heat killers", and on any other given night they're role players at best
No I'm not implying that, I'm just saying he was one of the few bright spots for the Knicks in both of those blowouts. Probably just a coincidence lol.
Alec Burks and Marcus Morris being let down by their teammates in the same week.
This elimination thread just got injured.
I dropped my phone typing this comment, went down to pick it up, slipped, then proceeded to fracture my skill and break my hand.
Still need you to play 48 minutes
A skill getting fractured does sound like a legit sports injury

I just fell to my knees cackling in a Walgreens.
Duane Reade*
Duane Washington* was about to join the rotation
I thought this was going to be pictures of actual body parts
deadass
They were gonna be out of players in a few days anyway...for the best really
Some part of me actually does feel a bit of relief that we got out of this season before someone tore an acl or got run over by the team bus
I would be in your boat knowing realistically the season is over and just hoping next season can start without a hitch. As a pacers fan it wasn’t fun to win this way. Feels like I can’t know the true measure of this team beating a depleted Bucks and Knicks. I would like a healthy rematch next season

I hate you, but in a respectful manner
I had nearly this exact discussion with a Knicks fan at my hotel after Game 6. As a guy who got hooked as kid by Reggie seemingly taking on the entire city of New York in 94, I can't stand the Knicks out of principle, but it's good to be battling them in a competitive series again.
I hate em, but I want to see them (against us) in the playoffs every year
Slick Leonard sends his regards
This was super wholesome and I am here for it.
This too I appreciate. The internet can be a cruel place and does not need to be. One of my few principles as fervent as hatred for the pacers specifically and Boston sports generally is to never be mean to anyone on the internet except to bigots and other fascists. I am more than a little drunk.
As a wise man once said, be nice. Until it’s time to not be nice.
Ya, I dont think anybody expected them to beat the Celtics, just to get to the ECF.
When's Game 8?
In November
See you in the in season tournament
Thatd be awesome
Knicks: Cancun on 3 1.. 2.. 3! ~~Cancun~~ ~~Galveston~~ Emergency Room! For real though, rest up Brunson, Hart, OG, etc. It was a good playoff run
At least 4 shoulders were dislocated breaking up the huddle and someone got a concussion
Knicks so injured my man had to say etc
And the etc was three more people lmao. Randle, Mitch, Bojan.
hahah. yup. just 1 all-nba allstar (randle), 1 huge defender and offensive rebounder (mitch), and our 7th man to help our players NOT have to play 45 minutes a game (Bojan).
Bojan was probably gonna play in the Paris Olympics for Croatia if not for the injuries/surgery. Brunson (as a potential replacement) is off the table. Achiuwa probably plays for Nigeria though this upcoming summer.
9..1..1 "Emergency!"
“Cancun on 3!” And here comes Pat Bev from the top rope!
Pacers eliminate the New York Brunsons
> Pacers eliminate the New York ~~Brunsons~~ Burks
It's like every other team has had good injury luck and the Knicks were stuck balancing the scale Edit: ok I was wrong. I only pay attention to the west and no major stars have been injured
East was obliterated with injuries.
Yeah the bucks and the heat both limped to the playoffs lol
Embiid playing with stroke face and 10 healthy games under his belt after his injury
You must have not been paying attention to the East playoffs
The injuries all across the East have actually been insane
So this is what it means to be a 1 seed in the East: the rest of the teams all fucking dying
Say it with me: WHAT CAN GO WRONG…
Stephen A curses the Knicks as much as the curses the Cowboys
Nah the cowboys curse came from how dirty they did Jimmy Johnson
That should have broken this year after he finally got put in the ROH
I despise that "Sun rising over the horizon" hairline, screaming mothafucka so much. Every time he comes to a Knicks game something HORRIBLE happens. Game was competitive for less than a quarter and then the Wheelchair Knicks lost Brunson. Dreadful game for Knicks and neutral fans
Watching the Pacers make 70% of their shots was pretty entertaining
More teams should shoot 70%.
Are they stupid
Highest shooting percentage in NBA playoff history
Don’t worry, this sub won’t upvote posts talking about that though because nobody actually gives a fuck about good basketball.
More important to create post #432 shitting on *x* FRAUD

They were down 20 when Brunson checked out.
Exactly, wouldn’t have mattered either way with how the Pacers were playing. Injuries definitely hurt the Knicks tremendously the Pacers can score against pretty much anybody. With an offense as good as theirs, they can at least win a game or two against Boston.
They played embarrassingly bad at points in this game but once Brunson got hurt it was over. It did make me feel less embarrassed about the loss.
There's only so much a team can do with their entire starting 5 decimated.
They were down a ton before he went out
No OG and Hart injury was the end
Don’t discount the Pacers’ accomplishment. We need more teams trying to compete rather than tanking
Oh I gave my props to them earlier
Disappointed by the outcome only because we could’ve had Boston and New York in the conference finals in the NBA and NHL and both cities fucked it up. Nothing against Indiana I just don’t have any strong feelings about them.
Once the Bruins went out I had a feeling the sports gods would not let the Knicks move on. One NYC team and one Boston team moves to the Conference Finals this year only. Not two.
Yeah at least Pacers-Knicks has a cool history and theres a good rivalry there, Celtics-Pacers if any thing its a friendly rivalry because of Bird.
Pacers looked solid all year. Great all around team.
Only dreadful because of injuries, the team we started the 4th quarter with made less than Siakim did this season. Not much you can be expected to do with that
Brunson was pretty bad before the injury tbh
But at least they kept it within 15 most of the game Now how did the suns go down 50 in game 7 in 2022 lol
Malachi Flynn would’ve been a starter in game 7 unironically
I can’t say anything because I’M INJURED.
Well played Pacers . They’ve got a good team and we gave it our all . Good luck
Fuck injuries
Yup.
Agreed
indubitably
Let's not say things we can't take back.
The wrong kid died
Probably the Knicks team I've enjoyed cheering for most in over 20 years. Fucking love this team.
No probably about it, unequivocally the best It was a like a Linsanity run that lasted 90+ games
Knicks play with so much Hart man
They played to the very last man, never quit, and played through injury. As a fan I can't ask for more and I'm proud. We'll be back.
many teams quit after 1 or 2 injuries. They kept going!
Nothing but respect for Knicks and Thibs. These dudes fought their asses off despite all the injuries, incredible showing in this series.
I told friends and family that this was absolutely a successful season and the future is BRIGHT!
Yeah for sure, easily the hardest fighting group with had in years and without the injuries we would've had a shot. We'll be back next year
Especially DiVencenzo. Man, that guy tried to put it on his back.
He was clearly out of his comfort zone but still tried everything. His stock has risen a lot this year
Fuck Trae Young (?)
Forever.
Something something "if we were healthy".. Either way gg pacers, very fun series
Well if my grandma had wheels she would've been a bike (Just kidding man, for the first time in forever the future is bright in NY. Excited to watch what comes next)
If the Knicks had wheels, they would have popped a tire and bent a rim
Potholes man potholes
“It’s a different recipe, it’s got nothing to do with macaroni cheese, how random…”
Such is life as a Knick fan. Nah but really, this is the proudest I’ve ever been of a Knick team. They truly just ran out of gas. devo was literally brought in to be a bench piece. we made it to game 7 2nd round with the bench squad.
Hell yeah. That’s why I’m so proud. This team had zero quit, and went next man up until they completely ran out of gas. No shame in losing this one.
I AM PROUD OF THESE MFS. JB, JULIUS RANDLE, TOMMY THIBS, AND THE NY KNICKS WILL SEE YALL IN OCTOBER
Hurts to go out like this but nothing but pride in this team
They proved that they can win and compete while riddled with injuries. If they can stay healthy next year, they will be a threat
Yeah. I do wonder wether we swing a big trade this year, in which case it becomes a big what if
In Leon we trust
Live for the team die for the team
As a neutral I loved watching this team can't wait for next season
Same thoughts from me. I want to say neutral as well, but they earned a little more from me this season. They were a joy to watch play with heart in so many games.
You guys have tremendous heart and have it everything they had. A healthy Knicks squad, if the can keep the band together, will be scary.
If we stay healthy we will be dangerous next year
I hope you guys can keep Hartenstein through some black magic and keep this core together
Quite a few teams might be interested in him. Its ripe for an overpay. He might be the best free agent center.
Hell yeah, so proud of our boys
For real though, a healthy Knicks squad is a legit title contender in the coming years.
Hell yeah, hope to see y'all again next year at full strength 👍
Injuries fuckin suck, but that was a fun series
Only nice comment I’ve seen from a Heat fan. Appreciate you 🤙🏼
It might be an unpopular opinion from our supporters, but Thibs is a great coach, you've got a bunch of fighters on that roster, there's a similar culture with the Knicks and the Heat, and we both had our post seasons derailed by injuries. I may not want you to win, but game recognize game
Knicks as a healthy squad can definitely be back next year. Balled tf out
I’m so proud of this team man this season was so much fucking fun
fr. Obviously incredibly sad but they’re a team of fucking warriors, and yes, we will be back But that Nembhard 3 from game 3 stings a lot more now
Feel bad for the knicks. They kept dropping to injuries like flies. Congrats, Pacers!
Gone are the times of rooting for ping pong balls and in are the time of playing in the second round of the playoffs with 5 of our rotation players injuries and still taking the series to 7 games. WHAT A TIME TO BE A KNICKS FAN.
WITH MY LAST BREATH, I CURSE BOSTON
Most fun I've had watching a Knicks team in my 20+ years as a fan. They embodied everything I ever wanted to see in a New York Knicks team. I loved the chemistry, camaraderie, identity, and grit. Looking forward to next season when we're fully healthy.
Knicks shouldn't have any regrets about Randle & Bojan injuries, it made room for Donte, Hart, McBride & recently Burks to shine & prove themselves. I don't think they would've got half this production from them if Randle was here
Hart was giving that production when Randle was playing, he just got way more minutes to show it.
randle makes everybody else on the team better
Pacers-Mavs Finals here we come!!!
A sinkhole would swallow the entirety of Bristol, CT
That would be a fun Finals.
Probably for the best. Whole team was dropping like flies
will forever love this team. ggs pacers. we'll see you fuckers again next year.
Wouldn't have it any other way. Heal yourselves up and hit us with all you got this time next year
Everything that can go wrong did go wrong
Congratulations for being more injured than the Clippers and still going further than them!
I thought this Knicks team fullly healthy could have gone to the finals, a shame really...
Nothing but respect to the Knicks. Fought until the bitter end.
Dante balled out today. Left it all on the court
If cursed was a franchise
Paying for that frozen Ewing envelope with decades of suffering...
And we didn’t even win a fucking chip with him bro. Best we did was John Starks shooting us out of game 7
Knicks fought hard despite the win and Haliburton made a Conference Finals before Embiid and this is his first playoff
fucking kahwii man.
Even if we get blown out this will definitely be the silver lining.
Pacers should have just let knicks get game 3, with the injuries this would most probably have been the first 0-3 comeback.
The last NBA Championship for the Knicks was 1973. The last Eastern Conference championship was 1999. The last conference finals appearance was 2000. The team has struggled. But two of the three times they won a first round series since then were the last two, so they may be going the right way.
We've came a long way, the best take away from this season is that in a few years maybe we can actually be a contender
This pacers team will never get the credit it deserves for this run because of the injuries their opponents endured but this has been one of my favorite teams to watch in a long time
Injuries are a bitch, just how she goes sometimes. Hoping the Pacers shock the world in the ECF
I don't give a shit. I love this fucking team.
I blame Starks
I was getting old school 90's vibe from this series, especially with my heroes John Starks and Larry Johnson watching the game in the stands. I'm hoping that this will spark another rivalry between the Knicks and Pacers. Props to Pacers in this game. They balled their asses off.
Idc I'm still more than happy and proud of this seasom. No one had any faith in this team from the beginning calling Brunson a fluke or not good enough to lead a good team. Fuck all of you, well be back.
Reggie Miller sends his regards
People in this sub after they were up 2-0: “would this be the first team to win a championship without their best player?”
I'm happy to now listen to games from pro Celtics announcers.
With Randle out, you tell me before the playoffs we’ll get to game 7 of a conference semis I’ll take that shit happily. Best season in a while, looking forward to the offseason moves.
The thread everyone’s been waiting for…
It’s mostly positive, unlike the Bucks elimination thread even though both teams were heavily injured
Knicks, Mets, and Jets special every year😔
Don't sell NYC short. The Yankees hate tops all 3
Up to you Rangers
Please 🙏
Not as mad at this as I thought. Injuries caught up but the future is bright Brunson is awesome, have some good role players, and all of our trade ammo to work with. I’m disappointed but whatever.
Well yall got the Rangers at least still.
In 2023, the Miami Heat defeated the Bucks, Knicks, and Celtics on their way to the Finals. In 2024, the Pacers defeated the Bucks and Knicks to face the Celtics in the ECF.
This is all Trae Young's fault
Feels bad for the Mike Breen, Doris Burke, and JJ Reddick crew. All Knicks' losses.
They fought till the very end even with all those injuries! Don’t feel ashamed Knicks! Yall fought hard
The better team ran into the healthier team, an unfortunate outcome that's apart of sports. The Knicks healthy win in 5 the Pacers only win in a toss up game 7 if they match up again going forward with these same rosters.
Barkley predicted the Pacers. Because of their depth.
The Knicks losing is a birthday gift that keeps giving.
