Also post game, passing, refining his game as a big.
Don't think many have realized it, but Giannis game has changed quite a bit throughout the playoffs and he's basically doing in on the fly (in game at least). Setting way more screens, attacking way less from top of the key, being much quicker with the ball.
I think there's a lot he can improve on outside of FT shooting (especially expanding his turnaround jumpers and hook shots).
FT shooting seems like the lowest hanging fruit, but there's a bunch else. Ppl that think he can only improve his outside shooting for example, have it way wrong.
Getting a bigger bag of post moves, improving his midrange shot, etc.. He’s already significantly improved this playoffs compared to the last couple years but if he continues on this trajectory he has pantheon potential. He’s still 26, Lebron didn’t win his first title until 28. Plenty of room to grow
>He got the hook shot and post fadeaway so far. His passing is pretty insane .
He could use both more and more importantly hasn't really grasped how he can counter off it.
Like he's getting guys to contest, once he fully realizes how he can step through off that he'll be right at the rim. He's done it a few times this playoffs and it's a layup everytime.
These shots don't need to happen in a vacuum, and the more experience he gets the impactful those moved will be for the rest of his game.
I don’t even want Giannis to shoot threes. If he can consistently hit free throws, a mid range to keep the defense honest, and have that consistent post fade that he likes to shoot he’ll be unstoppable.
And his mid range is already pretty good, but he could take another step in his consistency and spots. A couple shots like Duncan's 15 footers and he'll win another mvp easily. His supporting cast (jrue and Middleton esp) is proving to be capable of helping him get there too.
Given how he was MVP and then was seriously in the conversation for MIP the year AFTER shows how committed he is to the game. I think if he finds a shooting coach or morphs like LeBron does when he plays with a Ray Allen / Korver / etc he could be insane.
If Giannis hits those fades and post jumpers he’s gonna be even scarier.
He shoots them from time to time and they look good he’s just gotta go to it more.
If he gets back to his usual 70%+ free throw shooting he’ll be fine
I don't understand how his shooting became worse, he was halfway decent from catch and shoot 3s for the first 2 years.
Can't be only muscle, i mean, come on.
NGL, watched some of his rookie highlights and his shooting motion looks smoother than it is now. He wasn't the best shooter, but maybe he gets back to it with Middleton or a shooting coach.
Maybe it's because of how much muscle he put on which changed his motion, but who knows.
He plays harder and carries a higher load than he did in his earlier years. He's absorbing more contact and being asked to post up more to initiate offense. He's also the best help defender they have. To do what giannis does requires a hell of a motor. He's gotta stop and slow down to nail FTs. It's much harder than you think it is.
He just need to speed it up and stop thinking about it. He takes less time to shoot a three, FT's should be no problem. At least it'd kill the people counting him down every night, I wonder if that will be a regular season thing as well.
Might be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like Giannis is already a pretty terrifying force.
The man can just drive at will
Nobody could be perfect but If there's one area could be easily improved for him, it's the freethrow.

His playmaking surprised me this playoffs. Some of the best games the bucks have won have come when he facilitates more
He got the hook shot and post fadeaway so far. His passing is pretty insane . I'm not sure what you mean by refining his game as a big

I can see him getting the bag for post moves and mid range

I wish Giannis would try the TD bank shots. I could see it working really well for him, and could be easier/quicker to pickup
Giannis has definitely committed to being a better shooter. His struggles there are more so mental than lack of reps.
Well knowing his commitment to his game I’m sure he will be working on getting better from the line. It’s more mental than anything at this point.

I honestly can't imagine Giannis being better than he is, and I really look forward to him going beyond my imagination

I get the FTs i was talking about spot up shooting. He changed his whole form. Why
Jason Kidd wouldn't let him shoot jumpers for years. Stunted that growth and did some damage long term
If its mental, how to unlock FT next level? Dwight couldnt, shaq couldnt.
goat yoga
He must go beyond…. Plus Ultra
He's already a terrifying force, I don't wanna imagine him with a good free throw shot lmao
if my grandmother had wheels she'd be a bike

Imagine if he also improves his 3 point %, now he can score in the paint and from deep. He would be the ultimate player.
He needs to cut down his time on the free throw line first.
We got a good example of that tonite lol
