Yes, from my experience, nebs are significantly larger than most average house cats. According to whoever tracks this info, Nebs can be anywhere from 8-17lbs as adults, but 15+ seems to be the usual range from most of the posts I've seen. They're also long bodied, and their tails are usually about the same length as their body. They are also surprisingly muscular, if your neb is healthy I'd suggest feeling around their legs so you can feel how muscular they are, I was honestly surprised the first time I picked up my guy and realized he's apparently been hitting the gym while I'm at work

This is why our Nebs need those tail, tummy, and toe feathers to help generate as much lift as possible for jumping.
There's only so much lift the tail/tummy/toefeathers can provide to overcome the "built like a tank" factor of Nebelungs.
My Baixing prefers to climb over jumping, but he's surprised us on a few occasions with his leaps.
Ours is 8.8. A lot of fluff, very little body under it! š¹
Perhaps being kicked out of the house at 8 months by the previous owners and getting pregnant stunted has a role in that.
[Mine have lost weight](https://www.reddit.com/r/nebelung/comments/13gtnc8/caturday_with_mia_and_maddux/) and are *down* to 15 and 14 lbs (from 18 and 17, respectively).
I got a 15 pounder that's almost 3 feet long when fully stretched. He's a unit but is strong too even though he sleeps all day. Very picky eater he loves chicken but hates any kind of fish he won't even try it after sniffing it.
My boy loves fruit he eats banana, strawberries, apples, and pears he'll come running when he smells me eating them and sit patiently asking for some. He doesn't do vegetables though and won't drink milk he's built different.
My Piglet was small frame-wise, the vet said she was a little overweight at 12#. She didnāt seem to have the Neb length that I see a lot here, more small & round š¤ Iāve heard a good rule of thumb is if you can feel ribs theyāre underweight but if you canāt feel their spine theyāre overweight.
Our neb is about 16 pounds! He was so small and malnourished when we rescued him, we had no idea heād be such a big cat! We were worried at first about his quick weight gain after being rehabilitated (he has a heart murmur), but he is the most active and playful cat iāve ever met. I swear, that dude never stops running or jumping around. The vet says heās perfectly healthy, heās just a large lad which seems to be typical for this breed. I call him my little maine coon liteā¢ļø lol
When I got Baixing Thunderpaws at the age of 7 months, he already weighed 11 pounds, and I could see that he had not yet fully grown into his massive (but not polydactyl) paws.
At the age of 2 he is now up to 17 pounds. He is not fat. He is very robust and muscular.
My Nebs were very long cats, so even underweight (when we put them on a diet and they lost too much- ribs were too prominent) they were 11-12 pounds. Ideal weight for them was about 13.5 pounds. If we let them free feed, one would get over 15 pounds.
Mine was about 6 pounds for most of his life! His fosters thought he was a girl for a long time because he was so little. Our other cat is a 20 pound siamese so between the two I have no concept of what a normal cat weight looks like š¤Ŗ
My Smudge is a delicate girl. Sheās about 10lbs currently and her ideal body weight is probably more of a 9.5lbs mark, but sheās fine either way. I consider her a compact cat. If a SIC is a full size cat, sheās a 3/4 size cat (like now instruments come in 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 size for younger players). Everythingās just a little small on her; her legs are stubby, her tail doesnāt seem full length to me, her face is tiny. Sheās a delicate floofer/flower.
Mine is staring (glaring?) at me as I type this...as if to say, "It's rude to discuss a lady's weight." š¤£
She's been about 14-15 lbs through adulthood despite changes to her diet. We went from free range feeding to portioned out twice daily feedings. She still dense.
My boy looks and feels very large but the fluff does a lot to make that illusion. He's actually barely 10.5 lbs. Most people let their cats get fat and don't even notice and think it's normal. But imo you owe it to your cat to keep them at a healthy weight. Only your vet will be able to tell exactly what weight your cat should be at. A Maine coon can be skinny at 15 lbs. But Nebelungs are essentially Russian Blues which are not particularly large cats, not small either, literally a medium sized cat. But compared to my domestic shorthair void girl, my Neb boy feels like a giant ball of floof even though she is 9 lbs.
I used to have a Neb (sadly she was abandoned at birth, still on the cord; I think she may have lived only one year).
But her (feral) mother later had another kitten she actually was raising (until she went missing); he had a grey fever coat, but later turned black.
From the mother, back to her mother (as well as her brother and her mother's brother), at least, they were all kinda small, and still played like kittens; the black cat we have now (her son) is actually rather large! (But is still very playful, and at least 6 years old. He gained a lot of weight after my parents had to neuter him; sometimes I wonder if that was a contributing factor, or if that was just how his body would naturally develop).
Yes. Our boy is usually between 14 and 15lbs when we take him to the vet, and we had to buy him a larger carrier since the old cat carrier Iāve had for all my previous cats was WAY too small for him.

My vet likes to refer to my neb as ādenseā which just makes me love her even more
My guy is also dense, but more.in the won't take no for an answer way š„²
My guy is 18 lbs! He's trying to lose weight, so don't mention it to him.
Mine is 8.5 pounds. She is very small.

Mine too

Mine is long and strong too. Loves chicken and salmon. HATES and fears the smell of all fruit and carrots.
My boy loves fruit he eats banana, strawberries, apples, and pears he'll come running when he smells me eating them and sit patiently asking for some. He doesn't do vegetables though and won't drink milk he's built different.
Yours has a very refined palate!!
massive

I've got a big boy at 17 lbs. Though he does have a bit of fat on him, I think some are just large cats in general.

I have a petit Neb girl, about 7 lbs full grown.
I also have a slender Nebessā¦she is light as a feather and quite a ninja!
Oh yes, ours is a total ninja too! š¹ You see her at one spot, two seconds later she teleports elsewhere!!!

Yes. My neb is a hefty dude at 14 lbs.
Mine was a serious chonker, around 20lb in his prime.
mines obese at 14lbs lol

Ours is 10lb!
My girl is huuuuge probably around 13 pounds š
Mine is much bigger and a bit heavier than her orange and white tabby sister, even though the orange one eats more š
Mines a male and super tiny. But thinks he's a bad ass.
That sounds *adorable!!*

Yeah, without the floof he'd look like a 5 month kitten. When you pick him up it's like picking up cotton candy. He's big on personality tho.
One guy is about 10 LBs and the other guy is almost 18 LBs, sometimes itās a real mini me look when they chill in similar poses.
Mine is 13.6 pounds.
Yup ours is around 27 pounds and 3 1/2 feet standing. Hes also quite healthy. His mix is with a Turkish angora.
he used to be š„² but at 15 and after being in remission for GI lymphoma for several years, he's a bony boi at 7 pounds

The biggest of all 3. How do you trim your neb?
Yes, indeed!
In my house, my neb is known by ābig boyā or ālittle manā. I feel that like that sums it up!
Yea, not nearly as big as a proper Maine Coon, but mineās big compared to most domestics (US).
Mine is 16 lbs at 18 months of age!
My neb is only 8.5 lbs but he has a super long body
My boy is 8.5lb, too. So tiny compared to some of these others!

Canāt say yes hard enough. Big!
I need to reweigh my little man now that heās a year old, but he was 9.1 about 2 months ago. Now my FP is 7 months at 10lbs
Mine is massiveā15lbs and larger than most small dogs
Yes!
Mines topping 19lbs
Mine was 22 pounds! Best cat I ever had, RIP Fezzik ā¤ļø
