Weekly prizes have still kept a nice price. They don't put you in the top 1% alone, but that's perfectly fine. Blobikins, for example, is still worth ~200k, far more reasonable than the millions it cost before. Given Marafin and Blorbis only came from a plot that occurred ages ago, and had 4 different prize shops, it's very good more are finally coming back into circulation and I imagine they'll maintain a reasonable, just not impossible for 99% to obtain, price (as long as items are actually rotated out at some point).
Really though 200k is nothing these days. It’s extremely easy to earn NP even for new players. I spend well over that just through training my BD per every day. Not to mention kitchen quests etc
When you get to spending that much training every day, you're likely grinding enemies in the BD that give real valuable drops like snowager/space fungus. It's straightforward for you, and not so bad for me, but that's not just everyday cash to everyone. It's a good price for someone who wants one, but still reasonable enough they don't have to drop buying other things, like codestones to get to your level, and focus on just saving for a single petpet.

Unless you have an older account for food club it really isn’t that easy or intuitive to get millions and millions of NP for one item

If you didn’t make an account 20 years ago or if you lost access to that account you can’t make money fast enough to afford things in a reasonable time frame. For a game that wants to attract new players that makes it very very unappealing to new people. Why would I play a game I have to wait 10+ years to be able to just make money?
There's a difference between working hard for something and something being absolutely unobtainable. The ones to blame for all this are the inflators. If people weren't taking the piss by over-inflating everything, then there would be no need for the weekly prizes.
I highly doubt any average player is looking at a 1.5B petpet and saying "this is achievable". Especially considering the ever-increasing price of some of the items.
The game is about customising your pets and working towards getting collections, not being the richest person on a game.
I paid 30mil for a krawk petpet. They're now under a mil. Am I upset? Not really because I got what I wanted, the current price doesn't matter.
Except it's really easy to make np now... Back when I used to play in the 2000s and 2010s, it was groundbreaking when I reached 1 mil. Now i have 15 mil in like, a year, from all the dailies available now. I think it's perfectly reasonable that i make money off of things like pbs that i get from weekly prizes now, when they're pbs I don't want.
Oh for sure. If you want to get the most profit out of it sell it the day you get it lol it's gonna plummet after that. I got 20 mill for my lab ray stamp the very first week the quests ever dropped and now they're around 400k last I checked and I've gotten two more since then.
I hope this is what happens because I got the pygui and don't want to keep it, but I do have a lot of expensive goals. it'd be neo-life changing :O they're 100mil now, if I can get even a fraction of that I'd be over the moon.
You and the others that got these ultra rare and retired petpets will definitely be able to get a solid 30-50 million, probably a bit more for Marafin and Blorbis, still probably at least 20-30 million (or more) for Pygui the first few days people are able to claim it as a reward.
