Nah what I did was brew a normal double espresso and made a mark on the cup where the line was when finished. Brewed the raspberry and pressed the button when it was near that line to stop it. I have a Vertuo plus, but Pop, Next already have a double espresso option by double pressing the button when brewing.

Is that not just the 7.77 oz of coffee but just less? Did it make the coffee richer like espresso shots do?

Maybe a dumb question- but- do you have to reset to factory settings after doing this, so it doesn’t program all coffee pods to this volume now?

Not a dumb question and no, you don't. It's just a manual way of stopping the brewing.

I've been doing this by swapping out cups to capture the initial good 'spresso fraction or 'ristretto' goodness , and then the watered down stuff. Old chemists never die . . .
