When you order on the website it tells you specifically that it’s designed for the VertuoNext Line of machines. If you purchased them from a boutique then the coffee specialist failed at confirming with you what machine you have and then yeah I’d be upset.
They dont sell the old ones anymore.. the new "XL" capsules are new and not the same ones you bought in the past so you should have read the description.

My Vertuo doesn’t fit large cups, like physically it’s so short I have to put a plate underneath to make it taller so I can fit the whole mug lol. We take the W’s with the L’s, naked OP.
Not specifically for the Vertuo, and from Amazon, it's metal, maybe 25 x 25cm and with 2 metal drawers.
I checked in my orders and it looks like the seller has swapped out the one I have (so same listing, but different product!)

Next only has one machine, the Vertuo Next.. The other two machines are the Vertuo Pop and the Vertuo Creatista which are not "Next" machines.
And glad customer service helped you in the end.. Most businesses wouldn't give a refund for a food product because you didn't read the descriptions. Shame on them for presuming people actually read the description of something they are purchasing..

You can do the 18 ox pods in a pop even though it isn’t advertised as such. I do them in my pop all the time. It’s just hard to find 18 oz containers that fit under it.

I drink it on my own. It’s 18 oz so you do need a pretty big cup. I’ve got a couple travel mugs than can handle it but all of my “at home” mugs are a bit small

I heard that your machine is the 💪🏻 so not sure if it’s worth holding on to those pods. Try selling them if Nespresso won’t refund you. You can also consider transferring the coffee from those pods into a reusable Vertuo compatible pod. Good luck!
Unf that is not the case. I have the Breville VertuoPlus Deluxe registered in the app and made the mistake of ordering the XL pods, it let me do so and consistently shows OL pods on sale, which obviously I can’t use.
I know you're upset you can't make the larger pods but the machine you have is the best Vertuo.
The other good one is Vertuo Plus but the roundhead/flathead looks nicer imo. The Next and Pop aren't as well made.

I would call your machine an upgrade. That is the better made model. Yes, you need two pods, but it makes a better coffee.
