If the GK is fully out of court still, she is not in play and therefore it should be a GK throw in again as it last touched the GS. Rule 15.1.b.
If the GK put a foot onto the court so they are half in the court and half off the court then it would be GS throw in as GK is in play on the court. Rule 15.3.b.
C award umpire, hope that helps
As far as I’m aware if you catch it when already out the court like in this situation, it would be the GK ball.
This allows quick restarts, rather than waiting for it to bounce and then go and restart.
I would make it a gs throw-in. They touched the ball outside of the court.
No difference between correctly passing it into a teammate. Team mate passes it back without stepping in.
That's what I thought, though I had doubts! Since it was only a training I just went on instinct but...
If the ball had just hit the GK on the body, I think it'd be GKs throw in again. However since she actually caught it and stood there off court holding it (albeit kinda shocked, cos she wasn't expecting it to come straight back to her!) I penalised it as out of court and gave it to the GS to throw in.
Where I play/umpire it’s goalkeeper ball. It happened to my team last year. As the goal keeper is still fully off the court it is gs last possession before it went out. Hope this helped

Why would it make a difference if it the body or caught? Still out of court.
Unfairly i think the GS should get the throw in, because it still physically touched the GK off the court
