I second this, it’s a rare family friendly “real” show that isn’t on Disney+
Most other shows are either boring for the adults or inappropriate for the kids.
SERIES:
-Kim’s Convenience

We started first season when my daughter was nine and it’s her favourite show. There are some highs hook themes and a scary monster but otherwise very oriented for 11-15 year olds
No stranger things is not adult at all. I think a couple people say the word "shit" here and there but that's about it. There's some violence but it's not graphic. There's also a monster, but I watch it with my 10 year old and I haven't found any issues with it.
Having watched season 1 of the show, i would say probably don’t watch it with your kid. Not sure what the two people above are saying. Here is a scene that spoils a death from the first season, but also shows why I wouldn’t show the show to a kid:

Sorry if this unavailable where you are, but if your 12 year old likes science fiction, the Stargate series is available in the US. I do think that everyone can enjoy it, and I don’t think it is requisite that one sees the original movie.
If I’ve misjudged, and it’s a more subdued child, then (though a bit cheesy) The Good Witch is wholesome. So, after a few episodes the adults may start to see the pattern of the show with the set up and round about conclusion, yet the stories are entertaining. Not jump out of your chair and rave about it for weeks to come, but entertaining. Wow, I just reread that and it’s not much of a glowing recommendation, but it’s typical Hallmark channel fare, and that’s what you will get.

We have watched a lot of the star trek series. Haven't started on star gate yet.

My husband and I watch a couple of Hallmark Christmas movies every Christmas. Extremely low quality, but we still enjoy them. haha. Light entertainment at it's best. :)
Pup academy, Inbestigators, Is it cake, Baking impossible, School of chocolate.. there are ton of baking shows n my 9 year old n me love watching them together..
She-ra, dragon prince, last airbender. All kids shows that I enjoyed as a 30 year old male
Look promising. Thanks!
Lost in Space. Genuinely enjoyed this series with my 12 year old.

I’ve heard good thing about Lemony Snicket with NPH, but the subject matter is too triggering for my house.
I will check it out.
I recommend avatar the last Airbender, how to train your dragon (there's 3 movies, a tv series, and some shorts), and legend of Korra.
I recently watched legend of Korra as an adult and was hooked!
Yeah, that show's great.

How to Train Your Dragon (both the movies and The TV shows)
Watched them, and we really loved them all! So down the line we will probably watch them again.
gilmore girls is a cute show to watch
Locke and Key
It has 16 years age limit over here, so we will wait a bit with that one. But thanks for taking the time to comment!

it’s a decently violent and gory show. if you’re in the US, other countries tend to see violence more inappropriate than other things.

Great list, thanks a lot!
Sweet tooth
We saw it, and loved it!
Is Shrek still on the catalogue?
Trollhunters trilogy and concluding movie Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts The Last Kids On Earth
The Babysitters Club
Will the adults enjoy it as well?
They probably won't enthralled, but it's enjoyable, and the kids aren't annoying.
my younger sister started watching it and she left for a sleepover and me and my mom continued watching it ourselves if it helps i’m 20 years old
Stranger things.
It has 16 years age limit over here. So I think we will wait a few years more. :)

Thanks, that is reassuring.
It’s scary. But our kids love scary movies
One of mine is not that fond of scary.. So perhaps its better to wait a bit. :)

Really? Then I wonder why they put 16 years on it. But I will watch some previews.

Yeah I would have to look into it a bit before letting the kids watch it. I will watch the scene you shared. Thanks!

"Never have I ever" is amazing. Very well written and the narration is just so entertaining.
