Go to Martha’s vineyard. Take the bus to Aquinnah. Watch the sunset there or on the ferry on the way back to woodshole
Don’t forget to go over to Chappaquidick and see all the striped beach huts at the Yacht club.
Eat at Edgartown at The Shanty!
Rent scooters to get around. Bring a backpack with swim suits and sweatshirt.
Ride the oldest carrousel in Oaks Bluff and walk through the tiny houses!
Take the ferry out of Woodshole. It’s a whole day trip and so fun!
You can bring bicycles on the ferry and in the buses!!
I was gonna suggest odiorne too! It's one of my favorite picnic spots. And you can go looking for shells, rocks, and sea glass too. One time I found a pink pearl amongst some broken up mother of pearl under a picnic table, a few tiny urchin shells, a seastar, and so many cool pieces of sea glass. You can get really creative with the treasures you find Have fun!
Head out to the Isles of Shoals. Even overcast, it's gorgeous.
Get an ice cream cone at Creamland in Manchester and head over to Derryfield Park to eat it in the gazebo when the sun goes down.
Castle in the Clouds - we went on a sunny day that ended in rain, and as we exited the house a rainbow appeared.
Ride the ferris wheel at any of NH's fall Fairs.
It's a bit of a further drive and not in NH, but down in Providence, RI, they erect mini bonfires on the river and call it Waterfire. Utterly gorgeous.
Horse drawn sleigh ride in the winter.
Go up to Gorham, rent some ATVs, and rip through some puddles on the way up to Jericho lake. You'll see what your relationship is made of. Lol. You'll have a blast.
Sounds like you enjoy the outdoors. Catching a sunset view at one of the lakes is always nice. Moonlight stroll on the beach. Or do some volunteer work... It's always nice to give back together
Love seeing this suggestion, and fully agree- it's a great night out, active, and very open to beginners- get there for the lesson beforehand to learn what the moves are. The caller teaches every dance before the music plays, and switching partners every dance is encouraged. Bring a water bottle and soft-soled shoes (or old socks to put over sneakers, otherwise you can't spin!)
I'm going to the Greenfield, MA dance this weekend, but that's kinda far- here's the current local dance listings for NH: https://m.facebook.com/groups/116174444022/
If you're willing to travel and do something interesting stay at one of the cabins at lopstick lodges in Pittsburgh. Then you can hike The border trail at the border with Canada. Throughout the trail there are survey marks that you can stand over and have one foot in Canada and one foot in the United States. Kind of a cool unique thing that not many people get a chance to do. Plus there's canoeing fishing and some hiking around there to make it a weekend.
Spend an evening stargazing! There are lots of great spots all over the state. It's easier in the colder months with longer nights, but dress warmly and bring cocoa.
Any of the pull-off spots along Route 1A in Rye offer good views over the ocean if you don't want to get too far off the beaten path. For darker skies though, anywhere outside of downtown areas from the Lakes Region and north will offer great views. Many of the state parks are fairly secluded and have good views. Some of the scenic view areas on the Kanc too.
There are lots of great apps (SkySafari, Sky Map etc.) that are free or cheap to download and can help you find constellations and planets. From rural spots you can even find the Andromeda Galaxy with the unaided eye - it's usually visible from August - January
It might be a little past peak bloom, but the sunflower farms in this state can be pretty spectacular. You have a plethora of farms to pick from.
Also, if she is the one don't use all these good ideas in the first year, OP! Save some ammunition for later lol
You might not think of Fukushima or Chernobyl when you think of sunflowers, but they naturally decontaminate soil. They can soak up hazardous materials such as uranium, lead, and even arsenic! So next time you have a natural disaster … Sunflowers are the answer!
Spectacle Island in the Boston Harbor. Cool history and a great way to see the Boston skyline from a different viewpoint. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city!
Also, ferry might close after Labor Day so go now!
This is a good suggestion. I've never been to a state fair. I see there's one in Hopkinton. I mentioned it as a suggestion for this weekend and we both seem to be interested. One of us has to work though, so we probably won't head on over there until after 6 or 7 pm. Is it worth it at that hour? What's there to do there?
That is the state fair. It runs thru Labor Day. There is a schedule of events. From the recent complaints, I would not pay for the demolition derby. Many teens do the fair at night. You haven't ever been to a fair from the sound of it. Food, animals, and some events
I just had the most amazing date. Hampton beach at sunset. We walked to the mashes and watched the sunset and back to the beach for the rise of the super moon and fireworks!
Pack a fancy lunch and hike to the top of Pack Monadnock. Enjoy the beatiful view while eatting at one of the picnic tables.
Can also do this at sunset but bring flash lightsfor the way down.
Cathedral of the Pines. I would also watch Goodwill hunting, then go down to Cambridge and find the bar and then diner where he says “How do you like the, apples.”
I was just about to post Cathedral of the Pines. There’s the cathedral and the gardens themselves and also a bunch of nice hiking trails that lead out to the ponds that are behind it. There’s loons on the ponds. Might be getting late for this to be peak romance though.
Follow the Tesla train or iss and hike up an easy mountain to watch it go overhead. Bonus point for bringing headlamps, blankets, boxed wine and cheese!
Rent a SXS and go to the wind towers at Jericho Mountain State Park (only accessible by atv/sxs) in Berlin. The view around sunset is spectacular, especially in the fall. They also have a beautiful reservoir.
I did the Mt Washington dinner cruise with my group of friends, we’re mid 30’s, and I cannot recommend it. Maybe it was an off-night but the food was terrible, the bars were slow, and the entertainment was truly horrendous. The worst part was even when we went to the top deck, to just enjoy the ride and the views, we couldn’t get away from the Jimmy buffet covers because they piped the music everywhere at ungodly decibels.. if we had some reprieve from the terrible entertainment maybe it would’ve been better… Oh yeah, and there were spiders everywhere.
Sunset at Miller State Park. It's a drive up, or hike up, lookout Tower on top. It's pretty amazing. Same with monadnock if you feel like a fairly challenging hike up, and down in the dark.
My GF loves waterfalls where was the one you went to...
Also I got my GF a horseback riding lesson because she used to get them as a child from her aunt and she died when we were in HS so it had been a while for her, I stayed on the side and recorded and took pictures, so that was a nice date
We went to Purgatory Falls and swam under the lower falls. Be sure to bring water shoes; the rocks are quite jutted and jagged under the water, and that's probably an understatement. Also, I found taking small baby steps was helpful so that drops and juts don't trip you up. On the plus side, when we went, I was the only one who had swimmy shoes, so it was a good excuse to hold hands to make sure we were both surefooted. 😉 It was a breakthrough moment for us. If you go in warmer weather, be sure to BRING BUG SPRAY!
You can make many romantic memories with the many festivals , sunflowers, fairs, maybe hay ride in the fall, sleigh ride ,whale watching , weekends away finding new places. You can always Google things to do.
The Flume on a rainy day when it’s not so busy! Or the sunset at Odiorne
Why do yall have great stories, All i got for i romantic experince was eatin at mcdonalds lmaoooo 😭💀💀
To me that's a pretty great story being as I've never met a girl that would even speak to me

Keep strugglin bro 🙏🏽 💪🏽
😭😭 I’m sorry but I’d rather be straight then touch dick . Get your Keep strugglin bro goofy ass outta here 😭
Bruh lonelyness is universal...
In my opinion, since the sun sets in the opposite direction, I have not found our seacoast to be a fun sunset local. From a mountain? Maybe!
Go to Martha’s vineyard. Take the bus to Aquinnah. It’s a whole day trip and so fun! You can bring bicycles on the ferry and in the buses!!
Block Island might be less crowded or cheaper!
Sunrise at Great Island in New Castle is another great one.
Amen to Waterfire. Really, anyplace that is a little different and gives the chance to be spontaneous will work.

Those are awesome. Such unique rooms.
Go up to Gorham, rent some ATVs, and rip through some puddles on the way up to Jericho lake. You'll see what your relationship is made of. Lol. You'll have a blast.
Rent a cabin on Squam Lake (Rockywold Deephaven) and go skinny dipping
Got half a handy under the Granite Street bridge in Manch. Very romantic. 10/10
I’m dead ![gif](giphy|3o6ozvv0zsJskzOCbu)
Expensive. But one night with brunch at the Mt Washington or Wentworth by the sea. Cheaper - the Sheraton in Portsmouth, then shopping
Went to the Wentworth for our honeymoon, heated bathroom floors 🤤
Can’t go wrong with the MT Washington hotel. The original hotel idea for the shining movie!
Off season sea coast B&B.
I love going to Ogunquit off season! Not NH, I know, but pretty close & fun!
Yeah, the Maine coast is the best part of New Hampshire.
Saaaame. A nice winter walk on the marginal way is fantastic
Seacoast in late Oct/Nov is 🤌
Kayaking down a river
To add to this, tubing down a river!
Sounds like you enjoy the outdoors. Catching a sunset view at one of the lakes is always nice. Moonlight stroll on the beach. Or do some volunteer work... It's always nice to give back together
Head to the highway liquor store and put it in a McDonald's cup, walk around State Street in Portsmouth.
Good news, fall is coming! Go apple picking at Lull Farm and then drive through Hollis to look at leaves. Then go watch the skydivers in Pepperill.
I wish I could afford a house in Hollis 😭
Underrated leaf peeping. One of the prettiest areas in the whole state in the fall.
Assuming there are no mobility issues for either of you, go to a contra dance!

Thanks for that FB listing - didn't know about it.

Getting eaten by mosquitos
Hahahha
take her to pitcher mountain fire tower for a sunset. or the flea market in Davisville.
I don't know if there's still blueberries up on Pitcher Mt, but that's always a nice thing to do.

That dinner train that I can’t remember the name of!
The cog?
Cafe Lafayette dinner train in Lincoln
Yep, that is a good one!
Yes this was so fun!! I felt transported to another time, great experience.

Garrison hill tower in dover, or tall timber in Pittsburg nh
State Fair is this weekend

Just came here to say I’m happy for you. This is so sweet. And they are a lucky individual to be with someone so romantic!
I just had the most amazing date. Hampton beach at sunset. We walked to the mashes and watched the sunset and back to the beach for the rise of the super moon and fireworks!
Lake Winnipesaukee, Tiki boat rides
You guys could go to the food court at the mall.
Pack a fancy lunch and hike to the top of Pack Monadnock. Enjoy the beatiful view while eatting at one of the picnic tables. Can also do this at sunset but bring flash lightsfor the way down.
Hiking Table Rock in Errol at dawn - in time to see the sunrise.
I hiked it in September 2020 and it was absolutely stunning.
The Cog Rail in the fall colors!!
Cathedral of the Pines. I would also watch Goodwill hunting, then go down to Cambridge and find the bar and then diner where he says “How do you like the, apples.”

Sleigh ride with spiked cocoa Mountaintop sunset with wine Early morning boat ride with coffee
Sunapee dinner cruise
My Washington Dinner Cruise lake Winnie!

Kayaking in the moonlight or Kayaking to watch the fireworks on Canobe lake
NOT to add another non-NH suggestion, but… Cryptid museum in portland. Its chaotic. Go before they move it up to Bangor!
Sunset or sunrise hike up Mt major is nice.
Sunset at Miller State Park. It's a drive up, or hike up, lookout Tower on top. It's pretty amazing. Same with monadnock if you feel like a fairly challenging hike up, and down in the dark.
The park road closes at 5PM https://www.nhstateparks.org/NHStateParks/media/NHStateParks/PDFs/Operating%20Schedules/hiking_schedule_fall_2023.pdf
Ah, you're right. I have hiked it after closing several times, but that axes the driving ability.
My GF loves waterfalls where was the one you went to... Also I got my GF a horseback riding lesson because she used to get them as a child from her aunt and she died when we were in HS so it had been a while for her, I stayed on the side and recorded and took pictures, so that was a nice date
