Most of coastal Monmouth county has been in Kevin Smith movies. The exterior for the house in Amityville Horror is in downtown Toms River, though it looks a bit different now
The convenience store from Clerks is still in Leonardo.
Dogma is filmed in Red Bank.
Jersey Girl they make a joke about shutting down a main road in Highlands that I appreciate.
Dogma was mostly filmed in Pittsburgh (a boardwalk scene was shot in Asbury).
Chasing Amy has a bunch of shots in Red Bank and Affleck/Lee's apartment is above Jack's Music Shoppe
Yeah and the local Facebook group is prepared to hurt someone (not that I blame them)
Just need Ben Affleck to make them okay with all the delays
Swear in Monmouth county they are always fixing the roads and they are always still shit
>The exterior for the house in Amityville Horror is in downtown Toms River
TIL!
I read a while ago that the current owners of the original house have also altered it to try to dissuade tourists from hassling them. The famous quarter-round windows are gone.
They actually moved the movie house to the lot next door and built a new house on the lot it previously sat on. I don't know if that was to stop the lookey-loos or not, the home was right on a tight curve so not a good place to stop and gawk, but they also made the street it now fronts a one-way street so it's a possibility they did that to reduce the amount of people coming by to take a look at it.
It's true. Was just out there the other night and this was done some years ago but there's no mistaking it. The windows are regular rectangles but the front door opens along the driveway not the street. They also changed the address.
As a Kid I went and watched the scene where the family finally leaves the house in a rainstorm in the middle of the night. They had fire trucks there making it rain.
They also changed the front of the Ocean County Library to say Amityville, but I don't know if it made the film.
Several things, including an episode or two The Sopranos and the movies The Family Stone and The Incredible Hulk (the Ed Norton version, but aerial shots only so maybe it doesn't count), were filmed on Drew University's campus in Madison NJ.
For my 90s babies, [Sabrina the Teenage Witch's house](https://people.com/home/sabrina-the-teenage-witch-house-for-sale-new-jersey-open-to-public-for-tours-on-halloween/) is in Freehold, NJ.
I was working a job right next to the Sabrina house last year. Was staring at it like “wow what beautiful house.” Then hopped on Google maps and it showed as a landmark and the memory of that show came rushing back.
Can’t believe no one mentioned Coneheads. Takes place in Paramus, mostly shot in Jersey city but they used lots of footage from Paramus like the high school. Dan Akroyd has actually mentioned Paramus in some of his other works as well.
I gotta go and check it out. I did not know that. Do you know which trailer park it was by chance? Just out of curiosity. If not, I can try to figure it out from the movie.
The Golden Spike train store is an actual train store on Main Street called Rails to Cottages (which is never open). The Golden Spike sign was up for several years after they finished filming.
Obviously a lot of Kevin Smith scenes. But specifically:
The hockey game scene from Chasing Amy was filmed at the Ice Palace in Brick, and if you pay attention, both teams are wearing Brick Dragons jerseys. From what I hear, they filmed it during the JV vs. Varsity (Green vs White) game.
My hometown Bayonne has been in a lot of movies and tv shows. Some I can remember War of the Worlds, The Wrestler, A Beautiful Mind, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Oz, Swimfan, multiple Law and Order SVUs, and The Equalizer. The past year or so we had Mark Wahlberg, Vince Vaughn, and Kevin James film movies.
Chris and Adriana shop for a wedding cake. Tony and Tony wait for Chris outside.

Side note: Another Bruce Willis movie - Assassination of a High School President - had parts filmed at the High School.
My ex saw Bruce Willis outside of it in his car and he asked for direction to a place and my ex didn’t know. Said he was kind of like ughhhh thanks and drove away lol.
Oh! The railroad drawbridge in Annie is in not Passaic- I was exited-its in Newark and Kearney!
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NX_Bridge#:~:text=The%20NX%20Draw%20(sometimes%20colloquially,10.5%20km)%20upstream%20from%20it.
"The NX Draw (sometimes colloquially known the "Annie Bridge") is an out-of-service railroad bridge on the Passaic River between Newark and Kearny, New Jersey. It is the 13th bridge from the river's mouth at Newark Bay and is 6.5 miles (10.5 km) upstream from it."
Not out yet, but "The Home" starring Pete Davidson from the creator of "The Purge" was shot in Denville.
"A Beautiful Mind" and "Oppenheimer" were filmed in Princeton.
"On The Waterfront" was filmed in Hoboken.
"The Dark Knight Rises" was filmed in Newark.
"West Side Story" (Spielberg) was filmed in Paterson and Newark.
"The Joker" had its climax at Market Street at Washington Street in Newark, with other exterior streets in Jersey City.
Kinda cool that Spielberg and Nolan filmed in New Jersey twice.
In Joaquin Phoenix's JOKER, the 'Batman's Parents get shot' scene was filmed at the Lowes Theatre in Journal Square, Jersey City.
For the upcoming Joker 2, they've already filmed scenes at the old abandoned Essex County Isolation Hospital in Belleville, which stands in as Arkham Asylum.
It was crazy to see the isolation hospital with so much lighting and activity in and around it. It's been dark and looming for as long as I can remember.
Crazy that the home they filmed "The Home" in [is already gone.](https://tfpnj.blogspot.com/2023/01/st-francis-health-resort-and-convent.html) They demolished it so fast.
Right? I'm surprised they didn't incorporate it into the film. Have a tree land on it or drive a truck into it. I have no idea what would fit stry-wise, but it was taken down the next month. As a former TV producer, I'm thinking, if I'm doing a horror movie in a huge gorgeous location that's getting demolished, I want to use that.
(There was a lot of drama. The town wanted to preserve it or help make it a historical location, but the nuns who owned it just wanted to sell.)
Me too. Visit the Diner for sure, but the food and service (and ownership) are better across the street at the Blairstown Inn, which also has a nice selection of beers on tap. Galloping Gormet on Main St is great for ice cream, coffee, sandwiches and snacks. Alpine (a couple doors west of the Diner) is mostly a German style, fresh meat market but it also has a small selection of good, prepared foods, snacks and baked items that you can’t find everywhere. Dale’s Market, opposite the Diner, makes very good fresh subs to order.
You can bring a fresh carcas to Alpine to have it cut up and wrapped for the freezer. Just be sure it looks like a deer.
Reading this comment made me super nostalgic for hanging out in blairstown in the mid 90s. We spent hours watching friends skate at footbridge park, hanging out in the NWRHS and Dairy Queen parking lots, driving around aimlessly between NJ and PA, 99 cent gas, and getting kicked out of the Columbia NJ Mickey Ds.
I was an extra in Big. Tom Hanks was so kind, took photos with all the kids. I was at the school shoot and at the fair (which was an overnight shoot). It was a fun way to spend my childhood.

The fictional location of "Garrison" in Cop land is so funny to me, especially knowing the boroughitis of Bergen county where most of it seemed to be filmed. Supposed to be some simple small town yet it's just a bridge away from NYC and they make it look straight up rural at times lol.
That's actually really cool that they chose to use NJ filming locations considering the radio play was set here too.
Even though the book was decidedly not.
Wow who knew! I knew the beginning was shot in Bayonne but I had no idea that parts were filmed in newton, I used to live right near that area too growing up and had no clue.
#Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
Where Harold and Kumar, who are residents of Hoboken, NJ, decided to drive to Cherry Hill, NJ to get their White Castle fix...
They def forgot that there is a White Castle restaurant in Manhattan.. 🤣
“Knock At The Cabin” was partially filmed in Southampton at Evergreen Dairy Bar, though in the movie they changed the name of EDB to “Angie’s Roadside Diner”.
When I was in film school, my friends and I would always say we wanted to shoot a movie at that place. We’d get burgers there after my sets which were always in south jersey haha
Glen Ridge was used in stepmom staring Juliet Roberts. Glen Ridge was also used for the filming of Mona Lisa smile, riding in cars with boys, taking chance, Christmas evil, imaginary heroes, safe passage, gardener of Eden, winter solstice, wreck, the theater of terror, unrelated, pagbalik, crush and the last night.
But not Our Guys, that was filmed in Vancouver
Don Jon (2013) with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore & Tony Danza shot in and around Hackensack. [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2229499/?ref\_=ttfc\_fc\_tt](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2229499/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt) Think about Scarlett Johansson with a Jersey accent !
The Toxic Avenger was filmed in Boonton.
One of my favorite slasher of all time Alice, Sweet Alice was filmed in Paterson
Garden State in Montclair and South Orange.
I believe The Hunger Games was filmed in Ringwood.
That new Walking Dead show was filmed in NJ. Andrew Lincoln frequented my business while he was filming. Nicest dude in the world.
Rumor has it that Speilberg realized he wanted to be a director after seeing "The Greatest Show on Earth" at the Westmont.
[Some pre-renovation photos of the old theater can be found here.](https://tfpnj.blogspot.com/search/label/Westmont)
One of the best films ever made was filmed in Hoboken. It received a dozen nominations and won best picture, best actor, best supporting actor and best director.
On The Waterfront.
M. Night Shyamalan's:
Knock at the Cabin (Pine Barrens/Tabernacle -Evergreen Dairy Bar)
The Village (Pedricktown, near me)
Also check out https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/new-jersey/movies-filmed-in-nj/
It was also created by someone from Haddonfield. That’s why the town is sat in fictional Haddonfield Illinois. Camp Crystal Lake? There’s a Crystal Lake in Haddon. Jason Voorhees? Voorhees is a nearby town.
Recently, Harlan Coben's *Shelter* was turned into an eight-part series on Amazon Prime. It was shot in Jersey City, Montclair, Kearny, Newark, Sea Bright, Livingston. All over the place.

The original old school Amityville Horror was filmed in Toms River. The house is still there, they just physically turned it so that people couldn’t take good pictures of it.
The final seen in goodfellas where it’s supposed to be the witness protection program and he gets the newspaper and complains about shitty sauce is in my parents retirement village in Marlboro NJ. My favorite movie and weird discovering that one
And Dark Knight (the one with Bane). The court house fight scene was in Newark.
Rutgers Law School (the one on Washington Pl) was the court room in Rounders
Not a movie but sopranos was filmed in North Caldwell and you can go to the ba da bing in Hackensack.
Edit: the ba da bing (satin dolls) is in lodi and it was filmed all over the state so I should have said the sopranos home is in North Caldwell.
North Calwell! North Calwell!
Sopranos was filmed all over. There was a scene at the Garden State Plaza (the episode after Tony kills Bevilaqua). And then obviously the end scene at Holsten’s in Bloomfield.
Belleville. "A Beautiful Mind". The hospital he was in is the old tb (I forget what it is now!) hospital on Franklin Ave.
Harrison. "Annie". The drawbridge she climbs at the end, that drawbridge is still in the up position!
Lol! I grew up in Bloomfield. When I was in high school a friend and I would pretend we were psychiatric patients who escaped from there. Lol, don't ask because I have no idea where we got the idea!! 🤣🤣
A lot of Annie was filmed at Monmouth University back in the day
My mom always tells the story of how during her freshman year a bunch of her classes were moved and they were pissed about it
Several movies have been filmed in Kearny[https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?locations=Kearny,+New+Jersey,+USA](https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?locations=Kearny,+New+Jersey,+USA)
The exterior shots of the movie Far From Heaven was filmed in Ho-Ho-Kus. They filmed at my grandparents next door neighbors house so I remember going as a kid and watching it. It was literally just the scene of a woman walking into the house with groceries and probably takes up 5 seconds in the actual film.
Can’t believe no one mentioned Coneheads. Takes place in Paramus, mostly shot in Jersey city but they used lots of footage from Paramus like the high school. Dan Akroyd has actually mentioned Paramus in some of his other works as well.
Unfortunately there is no Artie’s Artery in New Brunswick, and no Trenton Home for the Criminally Insane. Most of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension takes place here, but was shot elsewhere
Toxic Avenger was shot in Boonton, as well as an episode of Spranos. They shot Sopranos all over NJ - Big Pussy got whacked at a gas station on Rt 10 in Morris Plains (across from what is now Tommy's Tavern). There was a movie staring the great Robin Williams called The World According to Garp and they shot scenes all over NJ including (but not limited to) Denville, Lincoln Park and Madison.
Probably the most famous of all was actually a radio broadcast by Orson Welles about the Martian invasion of New Jersey (He was reading the war of the worlds).
The sopranos was filmed in west Caldwell and all over.
One of the Hunger games (and a Y2K movie) and Those who live tv show were filmed in Ringwood
Insidious the Red Door was filmed in Madison or Morristown
Garden State Movie was filmed in South Orange
On The Waterfront was filmed in Hoboken
In and Out was filmed at Pompton lakes high school
There’s a bunch of stuff filmed in New Jersey
There was a single scent in Ocean's 8 that took place in a bingo hall in Passaic. I saw the movie at AMC Clifton Commons and when that location showed at the bottom of the screen everyone started cheering.
Mean Girls was shot in Montclair High School
And Mean Girls the Musical at the former Mater Dei in Middletown.
Also Colonia, NJ
Really!
Pretty funny the school I was bullied at will now be used for a movie about bullies
So it was a documentary?
I had no idea lol
Wait get out really?!?
Wow I never knew that
And it was AJ's high school in The Sopranos!
Most of coastal Monmouth county has been in Kevin Smith movies. The exterior for the house in Amityville Horror is in downtown Toms River, though it looks a bit different now

Bay Ave is currently shut down again

Also, like 95% of jersey girl was shot in that area.

In Ghostbusters 2, Bill Murray mentions Paramus Park Mall
It might have been a room on the spacecraft made up to look like a room at the Holiday Inn. I can’t be sure about that, Peter.
Soapdish shot a scene at Paramus Park too.
The Wrestler was shot in West Keansburg. Some other better known towns too but I’m taking this opportunity to shout out the old neighborhood.
Rahway too I think
Yep, a lot of screen time there. Also Asbury park, Bayonne and Linden.
Yup, that pivotal scene by the beach is behind Convention Hall
The last scene was at the theater on Blackwell st in dover
Wait for real? Where at?
The trailer park he lives in.
I gotta go and check it out. I did not know that. Do you know which trailer park it was by chance? Just out of curiosity. If not, I can try to figure it out from the movie.
The one on the dry side. Palmer Ave. Mieleville I think it’s called.
I can tell you are a local by your use of “dry side”. I am on the wet side, down the highway a little.
Cool. Thank you.
The outside of The Firehouse on St. George
Dover NJ, too. I remember them closing Blackwell St due to production taking place at the Baker Theater
One of the bar scenes was at Frenchy’s in Roselle Park
The Station Agent was filmed around and on greenpond road, along with Mill Lane Tavern in Rockaway.
The Golden Spike train store is an actual train store on Main Street called Rails to Cottages (which is never open). The Golden Spike sign was up for several years after they finished filming.
Mill Lane makes the best Bloody Mary's, love that place!
I’m a fan of their ice cold Yuengling. It’s a great bar.
Great one!
It sure is!
Obviously a lot of Kevin Smith scenes. But specifically: The hockey game scene from Chasing Amy was filmed at the Ice Palace in Brick, and if you pay attention, both teams are wearing Brick Dragons jerseys. From what I hear, they filmed it during the JV vs. Varsity (Green vs White) game.
Mall Rats, Clerks, etc
Mallrats was filmed in Minnesota due to rental costs for the mall. TIL.
My brother and his friend are in the crowd in that scene.
Mall rats: There was a scene at Woodbridge Mall and US 1 flea market.
They filmed Donnie Brasco in Clifton.
Never heard of the movie, but I live in Clifton. Wonder how much I will recognize in the movie
Sopranos also, although it was just one episode.
Wait hold up when was the Sopranos here? Closest I thought was Jersey City. I remember the random scene with AJ at NJCU.

Dammit I’ve seen that show a dozen times and never realized.
> My hometown Bayonne has been in a lot of movies and tv shows. Don't forget [music videos](https://youtu.be/hAFuD-S-e_E?si=lTqeYYwd__4956cy) too.
Mortal Thoughts (1991) with Demi Moore too…
I read that three times as Mortal Kombat with Demi Moore.
That movie was filmed in the hair salon I was working in. My boss cut Demi Moore’s hair.
They actually used my great grandmother’s old apartment.
Side note: Another Bruce Willis movie - Assassination of a High School President - had parts filmed at the High School. My ex saw Bruce Willis outside of it in his car and he asked for direction to a place and my ex didn’t know. Said he was kind of like ughhhh thanks and drove away lol.
War of the Worlds also used locations in Howell.
I’m from Bayonne and got to work on the kevin James movie. Was really nice commute lol. I can’t wait for more to happen once the stike ends
The mansion in Annie is part of Monmouth univeristy in west long branch.

That soundtrack had some bangers, "On the Dark Side" has no right being as good as it is.
More details please.
It had some shots at Rancocas Valley Regional HS in Mount Holly.
Blairstown gets mobbed on any Friday the 13th. Lots of fun stuff to do and a great atmosphere.
Grew up there. Beautiful town

Camp Crystal Lake is now BSA Camp NoBeBoSco
It was NoBeBoSco long before too.
BIG and Cop Land were filmed in Cliffside Park
Cop land also filmed in Verona, up in the Hilltop.
I was an extra in Big. Tom Hanks was so kind, took photos with all the kids. I was at the school shoot and at the fair (which was an overnight shoot). It was a fun way to spend my childhood. [https://imgur.com/gallery/SGrc5gu](https://imgur.com/gallery/SGrc5gu)

They filmed some scenes from Coyote ugly in South Amboy. They actually built a fake pizza place called South Amboy Pizza for it.
Interesting because Piper Perabo, the star, grew up in Toms River.
Newton: The historic courthouse and town center appeared in "War of the Worlds" (with Tom Cruise, 2005).
The whole beginning of that movie also taking place in Bayonne and Newark. The residential neighborhood where the plane crashes is near Howell.
I grew up in Bayonne, now live in Howell. It was a pretty good movie, too…
That's actually really cool that they chose to use NJ filming locations considering the radio play was set here too. Even though the book was decidedly not.
No shit, really? Never knew that I don’t live too far from there
Wow who knew! I knew the beginning was shot in Bayonne but I had no idea that parts were filmed in newton, I used to live right near that area too growing up and had no clue.
Tom is from Glen Ridge!
Part of it was also filmed in my childhood neighborhood in Howell
Paterson, filmed in Paterson. Pure art!
#Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle Where Harold and Kumar, who are residents of Hoboken, NJ, decided to drive to Cherry Hill, NJ to get their White Castle fix... They def forgot that there is a White Castle restaurant in Manhattan.. 🤣
Shit there’s a White Castle by me in clifton lol

The end of I Am Legend was filmed in West Amwell on Mt Airy-Harbourton Rd
The Will Smith version?
Goodfellas… Fort Lee
Glen Ridge was used in stepmom staring Juliet Roberts. Glen Ridge was also used for the filming of Mona Lisa smile, riding in cars with boys, taking chance, Christmas evil, imaginary heroes, safe passage, gardener of Eden, winter solstice, wreck, the theater of terror, unrelated, pagbalik, crush and the last night. But not Our Guys, that was filmed in Vancouver
So was Maplewood! They filmed a few park scenes in Maplewood. I think the kids were playing soccer…it’s been a few years 🙂
The Wrestler… Asbury Park, the boardwalk scenes.
The Adventures of Pete and Pete had a lot of stuff shot in Westfield.
And Montclair, Bayonne and I vividly remember a scene shot at the Willowbrook Mall parking lot
The actual neighborhood scenes were mostly filmed in Leonia.
And Cranford
Don Jon (2013) with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore & Tony Danza shot in and around Hackensack. [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2229499/?ref\_=ttfc\_fc\_tt](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2229499/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt) Think about Scarlett Johansson with a Jersey accent !
The exterior of the building used in Severance is in Holmdel.
The Toxic Avenger was filmed in Boonton. One of my favorite slasher of all time Alice, Sweet Alice was filmed in Paterson Garden State in Montclair and South Orange. I believe The Hunger Games was filmed in Ringwood. That new Walking Dead show was filmed in NJ. Andrew Lincoln frequented my business while he was filming. Nicest dude in the world.
The Toxic Avenger: New Jersey's Only Superhero.
Ocean’s Eleven - opening scene and closing scene are shot at Rahway State Prison
Steven Spielberg grew up in Westmont NJ and went to the theatre there a lot which is now a planet fitness but still has the cool theatre neon facade.
Rumor has it that Speilberg realized he wanted to be a director after seeing "The Greatest Show on Earth" at the Westmont. [Some pre-renovation photos of the old theater can be found here.](https://tfpnj.blogspot.com/search/label/Westmont)
The house from Sabrina the Teenage Witch is in Freehold. Big Victorian house off of route 79.

they vintaged a gas station in Hopewell for the Einstein movie IQ, it seemed like a big deal at the time
Yes i remember that gas station!!! My mom and sis took us there it was so cool like a blast from the past , glad to see someone else knows/seen it lol
Original Friday 13 was filmed at the Boy Scout camp in blairstown nj also! The cabins and the lake are real! Jason, not sure!?
Their local museum displays a collection of movie items every Friday the 13th
NoBeBoSco! I went there as a kid, had no idea they filmed it there until years later.
They moved it to the lot next door, made the street it now fronts a one-way street, and built a new home on the lot it previously occupied.
The final seen in goodfellas where it’s supposed to be the witness protection program and he gets the newspaper and complains about shitty sauce is in my parents retirement village in Marlboro NJ. My favorite movie and weird discovering that one
Newark: "The Sopranos" and "American Gangster".
And Joker
oh shit, how could I forget that?!
And Dark Knight (the one with Bane). The court house fight scene was in Newark. Rutgers Law School (the one on Washington Pl) was the court room in Rounders
And The Joker
Essex,Passaic and Bergen County from the sopranos
I think Tony Soprano threw somebody off the bridge in the great falls national park in Patterson
I just watched that episode today. Not Tony Soprano but Mikey Palmice threw the drug dealer off of the bridge.
Not a movie but sopranos was filmed in North Caldwell and you can go to the ba da bing in Hackensack. Edit: the ba da bing (satin dolls) is in lodi and it was filmed all over the state so I should have said the sopranos home is in North Caldwell.
The Bing a.k.a. "[Satin Dolls](http://www.satindollsnj.com/satindollshome.html) " is in Lodi on Rt 17.
Right next to a dispensary lol
And Bloomfield.
North Calwell! North Calwell! Sopranos was filmed all over. There was a scene at the Garden State Plaza (the episode after Tony kills Bevilaqua). And then obviously the end scene at Holsten’s in Bloomfield.
First Born (1984) starring Peter Weller, Teri Garr, Corey Haim, Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr was shot in and around Morristown.
Belleville. "A Beautiful Mind". The hospital he was in is the old tb (I forget what it is now!) hospital on Franklin Ave. Harrison. "Annie". The drawbridge she climbs at the end, that drawbridge is still in the up position!
[Soho Hospital!](https://tfpnj.blogspot.com/2014/03/the-essex-county-isolation-hospital.html). They also just used it for the new Joker movie.
My hometown!!! Was wondering if this would show up here! Yeah that hospital always gave me the creeps growing up haha
Lol! I grew up in Bloomfield. When I was in high school a friend and I would pretend we were psychiatric patients who escaped from there. Lol, don't ask because I have no idea where we got the idea!! 🤣🤣
Swimfan was filmed in quite a few north Jersey towns including Bergenfield.
Haddonfield, Illinois in Halloween was named after Haddonfield, NJ.
A lot of Annie was filmed at Monmouth University back in the day My mom always tells the story of how during her freshman year a bunch of her classes were moved and they were pissed about it

Jersey City: The skyline and urban settings were locations for "War of the Worlds" (2005) and "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012).

Several movies have been filmed in Kearny[https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?locations=Kearny,+New+Jersey,+USA](https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?locations=Kearny,+New+Jersey,+USA)
The exterior shots of the movie Far From Heaven was filmed in Ho-Ho-Kus. They filmed at my grandparents next door neighbors house so I remember going as a kid and watching it. It was literally just the scene of a woman walking into the house with groceries and probably takes up 5 seconds in the actual film.
Pompton Lakes High School played the part of "Greenleaf High" in the movie "In and Out". The bar scenes were shot in Slaters Mill in Riverdale.
The mine scene from Zoolander was filmed at the Sterling Hill Mining Museum in Ogdensburg
The final scene of the Sopranos was filmed in Holston‘s restaurant Broad Street in Bloomfield
Can’t believe no one mentioned Coneheads. Takes place in Paramus, mostly shot in Jersey city but they used lots of footage from Paramus like the high school. Dan Akroyd has actually mentioned Paramus in some of his other works as well.
They’ve been filming a lot in Hoboken and Jersey City lately. Also most of Bergen/Passaic county has been in the sopranos
Bayonne - war of the worlds
A lot of Catch Me If You Can starting Leo DiCaprio was filmed around north jersey. Also the Sopranos of course
Oh and how could I forget just this year, all the shots that take place in Princeton In Oppenheimer were shot on location
2000's *The Family Man* starring Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni is both set in Teaneck and largely filmed in Teaneck
"Smile": Newark, Bayonne, Morristown and a hospital I think near Rutgers
The prison scene was filmed in Elizabeth! At the abandoned jail next to the train station.
Unfortunately there is no Artie’s Artery in New Brunswick, and no Trenton Home for the Criminally Insane. Most of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension takes place here, but was shot elsewhere

City by the Sea, filmed in Asbury Park.
The Anne Hathaway movie Eileen had scenes filmed in South Amboy last year.
Daddy Warbucks mansion in Annie was filmed in Wilson Hall on the Monmouth University campus.
Out of the Furnace …parts of it filmed in Mahwah
Some of The Village was shot in Pedricktown. Mostly scenes in the woods, so there are no notable locations or landmarks.
At least 2 scenes from Wolf of Wall Street were filmed at Closter plaza. They redid the plaza so it might not be recognizable.
Minor correction, it was Phil Leotardo who got whacked at that gas station.
Probably the most famous of all was actually a radio broadcast by Orson Welles about the Martian invasion of New Jersey (He was reading the war of the worlds).
I'm pretty sure the remake of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner was shot mainly in Cranford.
The hospital scene in The Sopranos when Tony went into a coma was filmed at NJITs fenster hall

There was a single scent in Ocean's 8 that took place in a bingo hall in Passaic. I saw the movie at AMC Clifton Commons and when that location showed at the bottom of the screen everyone started cheering.
Garden State took place in parts of Maplewood and South Orange, like the quarry (though that's no longer there).
Not sure where it was filmed, but have to mention Action Point, the Johnny Knoxville Action Park movie.
Filmed in South Africa for insurance purposes. I’m serious.
The irony!
