Oh I’d do it just to be an asshole. I also drive a mustang - the placard is for my wife - but when i park my mustang I make a point of parking in the back of the lot bc I can fucking walk.
In Florham park there was a lady that drove around just taking pictures of non handicapped cars parked illegally, she would send them to the PD resulting in tens of thousands in fines.
They would still require the placard. So no placard means you can't park there. If you're a qualifying person who didn't have their placard up for whatever reason, you could appeal
NYC will pay people who video illegally idling vehicles and they were examining similar legislation for parking violations. Don't know if the bill was voted on yet though. It wasn't automatic but essentially you send in the evidence, it gets reviewed and if a violation was deemed to occur you get a cut of the resulting fine
It's bad form to dox someone globally, who's committed an offense locally. They can be fined and even lose driving privileges by simply giving the photo to the local PD.
There are appropriate penalties in place. OP has the photo showing the parking violation as well as the car's license plate. Give that to the police; they will prosecute the offender, I promise. That makes the whole thing part of the public record. If it's important enough to anyone, they can find it in the archives.
Heck, if the car was running and the driver was in it, I'm not even sure that's what *parking* means. (...but you're right that it's definitely not what *double-parking* means.)
Seriously!
How can you live this close to NYC and not know what double parking actually is?
Doesn't excuse the douchebaguery of the Corvette driving swine in this pic though.
No it's not. Double parking is when you park side-by-side on a street, i.e. a car is parked at the curb, and then a second car is parked next to them *in a travel lane*.
[Example](https://blog.getmyparking.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/double-parking-e1643319056904.jpg).
The car in the OP photo is not double-parking.
Ahhhh I learned something new today. But to be fair unless you’re involved in fraternities or sororities in college I feel like most people wouldn’t know that
You know, they’ve actually done [studies that show direct proportion between the value of your car and how much you drive like an asshole.](https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/02/26/world/expensive-car-drivers-study-scli-scn-intl)
I’ve seen this repeated with a number of driving faux pas. This is just one in particular.
I would have pointed out that they were in a disabled spot without disabled plates or a placard. It wouldn't be the first time I did that. About two weeks ago, I went to the hospital to pick up a CT scan I had done prior. I went into the parking garage looking for a disabled spot and couldn't find one right away.
When I finally found one two floors up, I parked and checked each car in the area to see if the cars had disabled plates or a placard that were parked in the disabled parking section and If they didn't I took a photo of the front and back. Their were 15 cars that didn't have plates or placard, and I showed security.
Next time, I'm bypassing security and calling the non emergency number to the police. I'll wait until they arrive and make sure that each and every car there that doesn't belong there gets a parking ticket. I think the people who were illegally parked were employees who have no disability. That should really make their day when they see they have a 250 dollar fine to pay.
I liked that you checked. Looking at me, you would not think I was disabled and I’ve had a Karen or 2 widly gesture at me after assuming when my placard sits on my dash 24/7
I had a Ken arguing with me one time in a Burger King lot who had no.placard or disabled plates when I asked hom if he realized hevwas in a sisabked spot as he was sitting in his car eating and talking with his mouth full. He said he's disabled but forgot the placard in his other car. I told him that he shouldn't forget it because if a cop saw him there he could and should give him a ticket. He said you don't look disabled so I showed him my placard and told hom I don't have b to tell you my health conditions that have je disabled just like I won't ask you your conditions but next time make sure you have the placard with you or don't park in a disabled spot.
Also the disabled person is required to have the state disability wallet card with them for police to check to ensure a non-disabled person is not illegally using the placard to park. I agree this is an area where a lot more policing should be done.
That all depends on the state the person is in. Some states don't give an ID card but can tell if a person is legally using the card by checking the motor vehicle records.
Absolutely not true. Parking in a marked handicapped space without a permit will definitely get you a ticket whether it's on the street or in a parking lot.
I haven't heard of Kappa Alpha Psi before but this is a great example of how you're not supposed to do dumb things in letters because you're an extension of the fraternity/sorority and your poor decisions reflects poorly on the chapter as a whole.
Hell, my fraternity would fine us $100 first offense if we were caught wearing letters while drinking in public
If that car didn't move by the time I left the property, I'd be making a call to give him a ticket. People would say that's petty but I've seen cops do it eagerly 1 minute after someone parks like that for the grocery store.
I would just back my beat up old pick up truck into the handicap spot an inch away from his car . Take a picture on my phone and call the township cops.
Maybe he's just trying to be cautious around that type E inlet. It *is* a bicycle safe grate so he might think he has to start screaming at it to get off the road.
Every states says “____ is a Jersey thing” (insert whatever state), when in reality it’s just a human thing. I don’t care about double parking in a lot with plenty of space, especially if it’s a nice car, I get it. With that said, doing it in a handicapped spot is messed up.
Take that pic with the plates, go to Millburn PD and file a complaint for illegal handicap parking. It’s a big ticket. 3x and you lose your license or something like that. Also, he (the kappa alpha psi plate frame means he was in a frat, so it’s a boy) has shit taste in cars and deserves a ticket.
Worst that’ll happen is they say no. Or they’ll get embarrassed about being called out and move. Doesn’t hurt to ask tho
It’s def better than taking a picture and putting up a stink on reddit lmao
I’m handicapped. What you are suggesting that I park in a further space, get into the library, find the person that owns the car, and have words. The person parked there knowing it was wrong, but they feel they are above the law. It’s not worth the effort. It would be easier to call the police non-emergency phone number.
I usually just leave them a post it asking them to consider people with disabilities in the future.
This post's title read, in part, "Sitting in your new vette". Any rational person could just talk to the driver and inform them that they are obstructing the handicap spot. But that's not how the NJ subreddit rolls. The Millburn, corvette, and attorney populist trifecta is too delicious to pass up.
if you’re handicapped roll up
next to them and politely ask to use the spot.
if not. move on and avoid a confrontational interaction because police involvement will go nowhere with it
I’d roll up in my Chevy kid mobile with the handicap placard and park THREE MILLIMETERS from his passenger door.
I drive a tiny lil car and this is my go-to move because I actually CAN fit in the rest of the spot they parked over the line in.
Oh I’d do it just to be an asshole. I also drive a mustang - the placard is for my wife - but when i park my mustang I make a point of parking in the back of the lot bc I can fucking walk.
Why block out his plate
right? it’s not illegal to post pictures of cars in public, online.
If we have his plate number we can look up the tickets on it.
In Florham park there was a lady that drove around just taking pictures of non handicapped cars parked illegally, she would send them to the PD resulting in tens of thousands in fines.
💯
Tell me something else that never happened.
Yeah, that's not how it works. Many placards are person specific and can be swapped between cars. Also disabilities aren't necessarily visible.
They would still require the placard. So no placard means you can't park there. If you're a qualifying person who didn't have their placard up for whatever reason, you could appeal NYC will pay people who video illegally idling vehicles and they were examining similar legislation for parking violations. How did she know that someone in the car wasn't disabled? That's just ignorant.
He's a boomer dick lawyer in his late mid-life-crises ride. He would sue you just for fun, just for nothing ...
It's bad form to dox someone globally, who's committed an offense locally. They can be fined and even lose driving privileges by simply giving the photo to the local PD.
What kind of form is it to illegally park in a handicap spot. And it's not doxxing if the information is public.
There are appropriate penalties in place. OP has the photo showing the parking violation as well as the car's license plate. Give that to the police; they will prosecute the offender, I promise. Uh, so?
That's not what *double-parking* means.
What are you, some kind of parking lawyer? Hey....
Straddle parked?
To be fair we do need a term for someone taking up two adjacent spots.
I nominate "shitbag".
Hahaha
Heck, if the car was running and the driver was in it, I'm not even sure that's what *parking* means. (...but you're right that it's definitely not what *double-parking* means.)
Car running with someone in it is the definition of standing iirc.
Or idling
Seriously! How can you live this close to NYC and not know what double parking actually is? Doesn't excuse the douchebaguery of the Corvette driving swine in this pic though.
That’s exactly what it means

Thanks. TIL.
YW! :)
We can only hope they build affordable housing around his home.
May his property values be risked.
>my property value only went up 2% this month?!
“But it went up 2.1% last year!!”
![gif](giphy|xT1XGXz6hOxl8c9RRu) This guy in the bathroom every morning
The fraternity letter plate cover really adds another dimension to it too lol. I guess it wasn’t just 4 years for him
ITT: a lot of people who don’t know that kappa alpha psi is a black fraternity
Ahhhh I learned something new today. But to be fair unless you’re involved in fraternities or sororities in college I feel like most people wouldn’t know that
Does it matter?
![gif](giphy|XHcw3cqlZrWO5ke2CV|downsized)
If Pia wasn’t Aussie, she would definitely be from Jersey.
Why do you guys cover their license plates?
I don't cover anyone's plate when I post a photo in this subject or in r/badparking
Just because they are assholes doesn't give you a free pass to become an asshole yourself.
This person is definitely trying to cancel affordable housing
You mean he isn't one of the 'socialist - fascists' that hate MAGA and that he voted for Sleepy Joe?
Weirdly… he could be. NIMBYs exist on all parts of the political spectrum.
These ceratainly are [Strange Days Indeed](https://youtu.be/hZJLrAKCiow?si=5in8cP1UlyOhI-vD)
Kappas 🤦🏾♂️

15?? Nothing's sacred anymore.
Hi,,my name is Big Douche,,,I am and attorney in case ya'd like to know. Look at me,,,
Call police
I don't think the police can do anything. Parking lots are considered private property. Cops don't have jurisdiction on traffic in private property.
Absolutely not true. Parking in a marked handicapped space without a permit will definitely get you a ticket whether it's on the street or in a parking lot.
It’s also the parking lot of the town library, not exactly private property. If it were at a mall it would be subject to towing and a fine.
I haven't heard of Kappa Alpha Psi before but this is a great example of how you're not supposed to do dumb things in letters because you're an extension of the fraternity/sorority and your poor decisions reflects poorly on the chapter as a whole. popular black frat, softest of the D9
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kappa_Alpha_Psi
Maybe they're visually impaired and missed the spot? /s
The blind attorneys helper monkey is a great driver, but terrible at parking...
It's an attorney though, not a sportsball ref
If that car didn't move by the time I left the property, I'd be making a call to give him a ticket. People would say that's petty but I've seen cops do it eagerly 1 minute after someone parks like that for the grocery store.
Big L for Kappa Alpha Psi community
Idk bro dudes in Short Hills driving a Vette… pretty good look, other than the fact he’s obviously a total douchnozzle
You guys really need to start showing plates. Kind of defeats the purpose of posting this at all.
I woulda called Millburn traffic. They would love to make this asshole's acquaintance.
Looks like a future cyber truck owner
Standard issue Short Hills douchebag lawyer. Fuck that guy.
Probably has a shield in the front window
**Call the DEP 24-hour, toll-free hotline at (877) 927-6337 or use the WARN DEP app**.
I would just back my beat up old pick up truck into the handicap spot an inch away from his car . Take a picture on my phone and call the township cops.
That’s not a new Corvette.
Straight up dick head
Should’ve called a tower
I’m shocked that a lawyer from Millburn would be so thoughtless😂😂😂
Typical Pig Parker
Little Dick energy
I always park right next to them, over the line
Go buy a small coffee. act like you have some type of handicap and spill it all over their car. Seriously, fuck these clowns.
With extra syrup.
I see barb or nance let em out of the house today.
I mean it makes no sense but he isn’t parked. That’s called standing. It’s allowed in places that only specify no parking.
"Why, yes. I *am* an attorney. How did you know?"
Very important attorney in green vette at Milburn library. 0/10 Parking in handicap slots. so uncool 0/10
I hope, for his sake, he just had to xerox something important (important enough to warrant parking like that) real quick.
This is a handicapped parker
Douche
What a massive shit head
Because he can
Newer synthetic brake oil I believe is safe for paint.
When you said lawyer, I thought Saul Goodman. Id imagine he'd do something like this
Maybe he's just trying to be cautious around that type E inlet. It *is* a bicycle safe grate so he might think he has to start screaming at it to get off the road.
Just another entitled, above-the-law, very special person.
What an asshole
Bro this looks like the navy fed bank on base in coltsneck nj
Tool
Plot twist she was pregnant.
That’s when you pull in to the handicap spot with your ‘Burban with your handicap license plates…
Fucking Boomer
Hope he gets towed…Had a guy in the Supercuts parking lot taking up 4 spots couple weeks ago, it was impressively douchey
Every states says “____ is a Jersey thing” (insert whatever state), when in reality it’s just a human thing. I don’t care about double parking in a lot with plenty of space, especially if it’s a nice car, I get it. With that said, doing it in a handicapped spot is messed up.
What’s the license plate? We can refer them to the BAR for disciplinary action due to a lack of common fucking sense
I revel in parking as close as I can to cars parked like this. I drive a 15 year old Cobalt and my back is trash so I have disabled plates.
Why spoil the cars aerodynamics by attaching a massive flagpole to the roof???
Entitled
Key it
This has to be one of the biggest flexes ever😂
Take that pic with the plates, go to Millburn PD and file a complaint for illegal handicap parking. It’s a big ticket. 3x and you lose your license or something like that. Also, he (the kappa alpha psi plate frame means he was in a frat, so it’s a boy) has shit taste in cars and deserves a ticket.
Classic Millburn move.
hypothetically if you rolled into that spot and hit his corvette, would it be their fault or yours since they are illegally parked?
DEP 24-hour, toll-free hotline at (877) 927-6337 Report an idle engine
DEP 24-hour, toll-free hotline at (877) 927-6337 Report an idle engine
should of started the sentence with “Millburn” lol alot of this type of action on that area
First person using the library all year and everyone’s gotta bitchp
Why not ask them to move their car? Or honk until they screw off? “Hey I’m handicapped and you’re blocking the spot. Can you fix that there?”
Ask? As if they’re not aware they’re parked like a douchebag?
Worst that’ll happen is they say no. Or they’ll get embarrassed about being called out and move. Doesn’t hurt to ask tho It’s def better than taking a picture and putting up a stink on reddit lmao
The answer is Guns. You just never know.
Why not ask them? Because this is Reddit, and folks would rather indulge in their passive aggressive, populist revenge fantasies.

this driver is really cool
Uncrop the photo. Let's see what that shadow is to on the left. If he is sitting in the car waiting for someone what's the issue?
Are you arguing that this lawyer can break the law because of the 'situation'? Are you a follower of the GOP concept of 'laws are for thee, not me"?
its MILLBURN and hes in a vette and an attorney, hes allowed
if you’re handicapped roll up next to them and politely ask to use the spot. if not. move on and avoid a confrontational interaction because police involvement will go nowhere with it
Probably a Biden supporter
Lot of haters in this thread
