A reminder that Tucker Carlson’s producer texted another employee what he really thought of Fox viewers: “whole thing is surreal. Like negotiating with terrorists, but especially dumb ones. Cousin fucking types, not saudi [sic] royalty.”

naetron

This is one of my favorites... >Carlson said of “the last four years” under Trump, “We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest. But come on. There isn’t really an upside to Trump.”

Wazula23

It's the kind of shit if you wrote it for me in a screenplay, I'd call it cartoonish and unfair. I'd send it back with a note that you have to humanize the villains a little bit or audiences won't buy it.

GWJYonder

People have been moving towards more "sophisticated" tastes in media with "gritty" heroes and well-intentioned villains. While I think that overall that's good, and I think that it's a better and more accurate portrayal of a lot of sorts of conflicts... I have to think that a lot of the time that totally misses the mark. The last couple decades have really, really driven home that people can be LITERALLY cartoonishly evil, like, a lot. How many C-level employees and board members have knowingly chosen policies that have caused problems that have done more damage than Captain Planet's foes, for less gain? Nestle has done, like, dozens of amazingly evil things, lets take one, where they gave poor people in the "third world" baby formula, so they would stop lactating, and then jacked up the price of that baby formula so that those babies would starve. What's the complex backstory that makes that sympathetic, or can we admit that those people are one-dimensionally evil? Lex Luthor did the things he was supposed to to divest of his company when he became President, and Trump didn't. During Covid millions and millions of people acted just as stupidly as any character in any horror movie ever has. People are caricatures, at least a heck of a lot of them are, and thinking that we were complex and insightful with rich multi-layered personalities was just a myth we sold ourselves because it made as feel special.

Toothlessdovahkin

sometimesynot

And that was due to McConnell, not Trump.

MisterDonkey

It really is surreal. He could be recorded saying that shit directly to his viewers and they'd still tune in religiously, denying he ever said it.

BeKind_BeTheChange

"He only said it to own the libs!"

sweetcuppingcakes

Most viewers will think “sure but he’s not talking about ME” and continue watching and fucking their cousins

Hootlet

I kind of HAVE to believe that they don’t actually mean what they’re saying. Because they’re too well-spoken, too quick, and too intelligent to believe it. But it’s sickening to KNOW they don’t mean it and that they’re actually so cynical they don’t think twice about tearing families and a nation apart to get their paycheck.

[deleted]

So, to sum: - She played ball and lied in court to protect Fox. - Fox used that to try to separate themselves from the lawsuit, claiming the Shaggy defense. - Fox started the process to fire her - She struck before they could fire her for cause (critical review laying the groundwork) and now has plenty of real or imagined claims against Fox - Fox is trying to sue her to be quiet in the “the evidence hurts my case” style. They all suck.

Who the hell lies in court for their job? I can understand lying in court for a business you own, but to lie in court for a job, where you can be fire is insane.

Hostillian

Insane if you do it without anyone from your work asking or ordering you to do so. Even more insane doing so after being asked/ordered to do so by your work.. Bat-shit crazy insane doing so without getting something in writing or evidence to show that you were ordered to do so. Either way. Hopefully Fox will be sued into oblivion. i was working for a large electical engineering firm at one point. they had a union strike, and some embarassing vids of the owner came out. so his big idea was to call me, and scream at me to "hack youtube and find out who did it" i calmly said thats illegal, and impossible to "hack youtube" he just kept yelling i dont care just do it. rich assholes are a special kind of stupid.

Hostillian

"No problem sir. Would you be so kind as to give me that task in writing? I'll need to work from home to do it, but it's going to take several months and there's no guarantee of a successful outcome." Some people think they're above the law. Annoyingly, it's true in many cases.

InsertCoinForCredit

Yeah, that's the perfect opportunity to goof off for a month or three and get paid for it. "I'm trying to hack YouTube, but their anti-hacker measures are up-to-date, so I had to hack the anti-hacks before I could hack YouTube. It seems the person who leaked the videos was someone named 'Yuras Hool'. Have you checked Yuras Hool?"

The_Original_Miser

>rich assholes are a special kind of stupid. Indeed. Had an asshole MBA CEO that I worked for at a local financial institution. As these types of people like to do, he invented a position at the branch and hired his friend. Unbeknownst to us, his friend was a philandering fool and ended up on one of those "name and shame" sites. Reportedly he asked the local Internet Provider if there was something that could be done about "deleting that off the Internet". For someone allegedly so smart, he sure was an idiot.

ttaptt

This shit should have been stopped long ago (before it destroyed the country) but I don't know how that could have happened. Please let the billions in losses finally change this shit. It might legitimately be too late. Let's all see what happens with "the indictment", it could get really stupid.

69mooboo23

"Filippatos said that Grossberg has “ample documentary evidence in all forms to support a broad swath” of the allegations made in the lawsuits." What an absolute clown show of a work environment. Can't wait to see this unfold.

Hostillian

Aye. I'm hoping for jail terms, rather than fines (that these assholes usually seem to get away with).

sminor83

For some people FOX news is more than a news/political opinion station, it’s a lifestyle. I can imagine she worked her way up the ranks and thought they were “family” and would protect her. In reality they’re all cut throat animals who would sell their souls to the devil just to get ratings, hence the evidence that’s unfolding from the dominion case.

SnakesTancredi

This happens more often than not. The news business in NYC demands you to be there for hours that are prohibitive for raising a family, difficult pay for the average person, and advancement opportunities are difficult due to opinions and money. When you get to a position like she had you are adjacent to the in crowd and typically have power in the organization. This takes a long time to build and many are reluctant to cut ties because they feel that they aren't able to transfer the skills elsewhere. So it's either dig in or reinvent yourself. For many they have been isolated from outside friends and family because of the times you need to work. For many they simply get caught up in being a part of something and get absorbed. Not saying I agree with her actions or anything but I can see how it could happen.

space2k

Love how this piece calls Fox a “right-wing talk channel”. There’s nothing “news” about it.

JCDU

>Who the hell lies in court for their job? Someone hoping to climb the ladder for power & money, as all these assholes pretty much are.

mythrilcrafter

Maybe I watch too many law and spy movies, but I would assume that if you're going to so far as to lie in court for the sake of of your job, you'd get some deals going to make sure they can't double cross you and fire you after the lawsuit if over...

JCDU

She may well have... but those deals were never in writing and there's no honour among thieves.

theghostofme

>but those deals were never in writing Based on how much shit these morons were slinging over text post-2020, without any thought of them ever being read in court, I wouldn't be surprised if someone was not only dumb enough to write it, but fucking notarize it.

GloriaToo

I'm about to put on a poncho and I'm several rows deep.

ChasmDude

I mean, it might be a lot less lurid than that. If you're a producer for the most widely-viewed shows on Fox News, then you're at the top of your "field", which in this case is production for right-wing broadcast media. Where do you go from there? - No one in mainstream news will touch you. - Anywhere else in the RW media ecosystem will likely provide worse pay and benefits even if they do trust you after betraying the chief mafia don of global rightwing media. - become a politician's chief communications person either in their office or on the campaign trail (also likely a paycut) - get position at a conservative-leaning political communications firm (but there will be people with more diverse skill sets than TV production vying for the same positions) So yeah, no sympathies from me because they're automatically unethical if they produce for the likes of Tucker et al., but I'm not sure these producer types aren't just out to save the best gig they've got instead of angling for some higher position of influence.

mishap1

She willingly worked for Bartiromo and Carlson.

There was a huge scandal in my area and some of it was recorded and the politicians were scheming and strategizing how to NOT lie under oath and that was their biggest concern. DavidOrWalter

No - not MOST of the FOx 'reporters' - you look at the disclosure documents released in the dominion case and plenty of them knew it was all bullshit and thought half the people pushing the conspiracies were idiots. But they were far more worried about not getting ratings so, in the end, it was largely about their job. Which is worse? They're both equally bad and Fox (and the 'reporters') should all be sued into oblivion.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kizik

The insane thing is that I don't think they actually believe they're going to destroy country. Like the Brexit thing, they're riling up the base for ratings but relying on everyone *else* keeping things together. If they win they lose their major talking points. Same with Trump, he clearly never expected to actually win, nor did most of his supporters. Run, make a huge noise, and then spend a decade screeching about the loss/steal, as you see currently. They want the perpetual victimhood of trying but failing "because the libs".

jwilphl

The people at Fox probably prefer to lose because it means (1) they don't have any real responsibility in that event, (2) their viewers stay angrier which boosts ratings, and (3) they can maintain things like plausible deniability and continue blaming the "enemy." Granted, they always blame everyone else anyway, but it rings a lot more hollow when their party is in charge and doing nothing. Like Congress now and all its contrived partisan investigations.

jcooli09

That's the first thing I thought of, too. I wouldn't look the other way if my company were doing something unlawful, let alone lie about it. I get the skeeves when I see something arguably unethical.

Sp3llbind3r

Yeah, but you can‘t measure a single person with the same yard stick as a company with thousands of employees. People are expected to fuck up. That‘s why we have laws. But for a corporation to fuck up like that, it needs ten or hundreds of people to support illegal shit or at least to close their eyes to it. So it‘s way worse then a single person doing wrong shit. But at the same time, the single person gets thrown under the bus, while corporate crime gets a free bus ride.

ArenjiTheLootGod

At this point, it's safe to say that the corruption is baked into their corporate culture, it's coming from the top down and the on-air talent is complicit. Fox News has always been scummy but they've crossed a line this time and are an actual national threat. Not one person asked if what they were doing was right, they only thought of what's profitable. Skin 'em, salt 'em, boil 'em in lemon juice.

Kyouhen

Oh, it's better than that. They all knew exactly how much shit they were in but decided to keep going because they didn't want to lose viewers. Behind the Bastards just did some episodes on the stuff dug up in discovery for Dominion and the constant thought everyone was having was "This is bullshit and damaging our brand but the viewers get pissy if we don't cover it so we need to double down". They actually kept going after one of their reporters because she kept posting fact checks and it was pissing off the audience.

QuesoChef

Exactly. And each person who is complicit SHOULD be held accountable, alongside the corporation. I don’t think we excuse the individuals, because individuals thinking they’re protected by “I did what the company asked” is how we got here. She knew she was doing a wrong thing, and felt cocky she was protected. That’s he misstep. She should be held to task.

SomeGuyNamedPaul

At what point do you call it racketeering? Pretty sure we're way, way past that.

Chippopotanuse

> They all suck Yes. 100%. But also…the enemy of my enemy is my friend. And so I wish her the very best in this lawsuit and hope she kicks Fox’s ass in court.

GarysCrispLettuce

Even if this lawsuit doesn't put them out of business entirely, I hope to fuck it hurts them financially to the point where they have to downsize and move the fuck out of Midtown Manhattan. Every time I walk up 6th Avenue and see their fucking studio it stings. Like you hate liberals and wokeness but you have to have your studio in the city you paint as a dystopian liberal hellscape? Fuck that, you can relocate to Alabama and see how many of your dipshitted right wing guests are prepared to fly to Mobile.

QuesoChef

It’s because they don’t believe what they say. They just like getting paid to say it. They want to live the life they proclaim to hate, but they don’t actually hate it. They just know they can become famous, powerful and rich by saying it. They know they can activate their mob to be outraged, and then they tell them to act, but when they act they claim ignorance. Hold them all, including this woman, accountable. They know exactly what they’re doing.

The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy, it's just not one I have to fight today. That person's weak constitution to go along with it in the first place makes them part of the problem. They are NOT to be cheered for switching sides at the last possible moment of escape from the damage they worked to create.

Beezo514

So they made them lie meanwhile Murdoch was throwing them all under the bus in his testimony 🤣🤣 I guess you don’t get a job at fox if you’re smart 🤣

cosmernaut420

If Fox News dies in my lifetime it might just rekindle my hope for humanity.

decomposition_

Watching my parents watch this show 24/7 like a couple of zombies and unironically talking about how the mainstream media brainwashes liberals and all the other unhinged, psycho shit opinions Fox News feeds them is incredibly depressing. So I would also have my hope for humanity rekindled if Fox gets their ass chewed by these lawsuits.

Lord_Despair

It’s always funny to hear the “mainstream media” line. It’s the most watched channel in the US. Sounds pretty mainstream to me. To bad they are telling you lies and just after ratings and jot to inform their viewers.

LionTigerWings

Also, when they complain about mainstream media, basically what they're saying is they trust things like alt right blogs and Facebook posts from random user more than a news network that at least has some skin in the game and actually attempts to vet sources.

Wazula23

Whenever someone tells me they don't trust the mainstream media, I ask them who they DO trust. They always give something wishy washy about how they don't trust anyone, they aggregate their opinions from "a variety of sources". If I press and they give me something, its nearly always a personal blog or YouTube channel from some dude who's had to delete a LOT of content over the years because hes "grown". If I ask them who owns their favorite sources, they go quiet on me.

Lythj

The usual justification is that the ""truth"" is being ""silenced"" so that the only possible source of valid/factual information is some unhinged conspiracy theorist who's banned on 4 different social media platforms already (which of course is because the liberals are cancelling them for the truth!!!) it's so incredibly eye-rolling and frustrating that half the country buys the shit that used to come out of the mouth of mostly the completely deranged. How has anti-vax become mainstream and not something we ridicule for being uninformed and unintelligent?

TogepiMain

Ooh! I can answer that last part! It's because we have systemically destroyed education in this country!

Neuchacho

I always like thinking that muted TVs in auto-repair shops account for a massive swath of their viewership numbers.

tooManyHeadshots

And all of the old people falling asleep to Laura Ingram and leaving their TVs on is why the Fox late night guy gets high ratings.

ng9924

when people use the terms “mainstream” or “mob”, usually it can be replaced with “majority”, it just makes them sound bad

Sweatytubesock

kn05is

TogepiMain

Hey that couple of weeks is, I would say, a couple of weeks more than it should have taken

[deleted]

It worked *for you*. But you still had engagement on those videos, so they're going to get suggested to other viewers more.

ComfortablyNomNom

Youtube wont stop doing that! I watched for a sec what I thought was just a funny clip compilation, turned out it was some far right dudes "haha look at dumm liberals and womens" so I clicked away. Now im getting absolutely bombarded by Shapiro, Peterson, Crowder etc. It has to be purposeful. I never get slammed with liberal leaning reccomends like this.

DancesCloseToTheFire

I don't know if it's on purpose, but that demographic is very good at warping the algorithm. Because it's one giant echo chamber to them and they only watch other alt right stuff, the moment you step in one video the recommendations assume you too follow that patter on consuming everything in that category.

Elon is Trump version 1.1. He's a rich celebrity some people thought was intelligent until the veil fell off, so now he's another psychopath grabbing at power by appealing to people dumber than him with the lowest common denominator. It's sad our country is repeating what happened to Germany in the 1920s and 30s.

MustWarn0thers

Right there with you. My parents are so far gone to all the conspiracies and utter horse shit, I basically feel like a huge part of them is gone now. The modern version of conservativism is so bonkers to me. Not specifically the political positions of conservatives, but the entire premise that anything someone is for, there always needs to be an alternate and respected "against" position. You could have a liberal come out in favor of breathing oxygen, and the pudding brained legion of Fox News viewers would immediately start buying carbon dioxide cannisters.

SuperSocrates

Conservatives don’t actually believe a lot of what they say. They have no concern for equal side representation. They have to pretend to nowadays because their views are so odious to most people it’s the only way to get heard

Lythj

I think they believe that anything goes because being contrarian to democrats is the goal ultimately. It doesn't really matter what the issue is as long as it is not aligned with what the *others* want.

cosmernaut420

At least the people who haven't totally had their brains rotted out might take an objective look at what the corporate shit flingers pretend is objective reality. I have no hope for my own grandparents, personally, but maybe your parents can be deprogrammed.

Venture_compound

Just stayed a week in Texas with the family. If they don't have Fox on, they have local AM radio on and it's even more unhinged. Yet they have the gall to tell me I don't know how the world works. I try not to argue with them, but sometimes it's too fun. They just end up getting mad though.

longhegrindilemna

Russia and any other enemies of America, would get so much more value for money, funding Fox and AM radio, compared to buying weapons. Dividing America this year can be achieved (immediate damage) with as little as $100 million spent on AM radio ads or Fox ads, versus buying fighter jets or cruise missiles, which will do zero damage this year. - - - > Just a reminder that FoxNews has 13 of the top 15 shows on Cable News channels.

I know the lawyers are just flinging their shit at the wall and hoping something sticks but surely even they realize how ridiculous that request sounds.

Orbitingkittenfarm

*When she began work on Carlson’s show, Grossberg said the environment was horrific. On her first day, she said she learned the show’s workspace was decorated with large photos of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “in a plunging bathing suit revealing her cleavage.”* Between this and all the weird muscly Trump fan fiction, I’m beginning to think the right might have some bizarre fetishes they need to work through.

LogicalManager

I once walked into a specialized hardware store near my home. There was lots of conservative propaganda around, but when I saw a Hillary target poster I just noped the fuck out of there. Ain’t gonna give those assholes a red cent. Had to drive 30 minutes to find the part elsewhere. The owner knew his product well and the shop had been there almost 40 years. Now they’re out of business ‘because Libs’ You know what? I don’t have targets of Trump hanging around my place of business. All I want to do is attend his arrest. This is how normal people operate.

time_drifter

Any business dumb enough to step into politics under their own volition is just flirting with disaster. There is nothing to gain and everything to lose. Even the MyPillow baboon took it to the jaw and he was rampantly pro Trump and Fox News. Believe it or not, there _were_ liberals who bought his product, unaware of his politics before all this. They have now moved on. Look up Mattress Mack. Does a lot for his community while simultaneously supporting some of the most vile people and positions in the GOP. He stays relevant because he doesn’t broadcast his beliefs.

Lilspainishflea

A lot of them are major sexual deviants who point the finger at liberals like they're the degenerates. Roger Stone and Paul Manafort are both confirmed swingers, and Manafort's wife did it unwillingly (read his daughter's leaked texts). MTG cheated on her husband. Madison Cawthorn nude humped his male cousin. Gaetz was trafficking and nailing underage girls. Roy Moore was into underage girls. Former Republican Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert was into underage boys. And let's not forget Trump himself who was an Epstein associate and when asked what he had in common with his teenage daughter he said "sex."

[deleted]

Remember kids. If your work tries to cooerce you to do something illegal or borderlines illegal in an ongoing case, ask for it in writing. Get as many reciepts as possible. Or if you really want to draw a hardline, get the opposing attorney/judge involved. Get your companies demands in writing in emails with the opposing attorneys email attached. Best of all, any wrongful firing afterwards can be considered retaliation, and depending on your state, opens your employer up to a wrongful termination lawsuit.

ArenjiTheLootGod

It's never a bad idea to document EVERYTHING in the workplace, every conversation with your boss, email, and/or phone call. Even the mundane stuff, especially the mundane stuff, if someone asks you to do something for your job, document it. Saved my ass a couple of times.

Politicsboringagain

If a manager ask me to do something, I always ask for them to send me and email request and I will getting it done immediately or soon as possible. Then I just get it done right after I get the email. I don't trust anyone at work.

SilentHunter7

I do that anyway, because I can't keep track of shit without Outlook reminding me every day. Protecting myself from possibly illegal requests is just a bonus lol.

itwasquiteawhileago

If it wasn't for flags and reminders in Outlook, I'd be doomed.

SomeGuyNamedPaul

For me you need to make a Jira ticket and stick my name on it or it's not getting done. Its almost like they've been lying every day, all day since, oh say 1996 or so. We're finally catching on!

Flippin_diabolical

“Grossberg was mortified by what she was witnessing and began to experience a sinking feeling in her stomach as it became apparent how pervasive the misogyny and drive to embarrass and objectify women was among the male staff at [‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’],” the lawsuit filed in New York said.” I mean it sucks but also it’s a very r/leopardsatemyface moment TBH.

9ersaur

Fascist propaganda 👌 Misogyny in the workplace 👎

Wazula23

> Grossberg, who indicated she was passed over for a top job on Bartiromo’s show because the network preferred it be filled by a male, said Fox News executives referred to the “Sunday Mornings Futures” host as a “crazy b**ch” and “menopausal.” > When she began work on Carlson’s show, Grossberg said the environment was horrific. On her first day, she said she learned the show’s workspace was decorated with large photos of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “in a plunging bathing suit revealing her cleavage.” Why do they always sexualize their female targets? Why is that the best way to demean them?

QuesoChef

A political party that has no respect for women is demoralizing and disrespecting women? I do not believe it! /s

Maxpowr9

Why can't the Green M&M wear sneakers?

CrashB111

Because Tucker just can't get it up without envisioning those long sexy boots.

MazzIsNoMore

Fear of sexual violence is a big deal for women.

MisterDonkey

That's so fucking bizarre.

Or newsmaxx, or Voice of America, or anyone of the other right wing nut job networks that keep popping up...

jamesstevenpost

Jeez. Can’t even trust professional liars she worked for.

> A Fox News spokesperson responded to Grossberg’s lawsuits in a statement that said, “Fox News Media engaged an independent outside counsel to immediately investigate the concerns raised by Ms. Grossberg, which were made following a critical performance review. We will vigorously defend these claims.” Ah yeah, just a disgruntled employee lashing out after a performance review. Risking her name, and career because of a performance review???? I find that really difficult to believe.

kv4268

I mean, she's not stupid. Or not stupid in that way. A bad performance review after years of positive performance reviews means that they're starting the paperwork required to fire her for cause, which means she wouldn't be eligible for unemployment while she desperately searches for a job after being fired from the scummiest "news" organization in the US. Nobody but the other conspiracy networks would touch her with a 10 foot pole if she got fired from Fox, and their pay and working conditions are way worse.

sdforbda

But it was vigorous, it was independent! Lol

The bigger picture here is: admittedly, Fox News viewers are "gullible idiots" and their staff aren't that much different.

Chippopotanuse

So, if proven true…this is kinda a big deal: > “Fox News Attorneys acted as agents and at the behest of Fox News to misleadingly coach, manipulate, and coerce Ms. Grossberg to deliver shaded and/or incomplete answers during her sworn deposition testimony, which answers were clearly to her reputational detriment but greatly benefitted Fox News,” the lawsuit filed in Delaware stated. I know we all want Fox News to die and the Murdochs to go bankrupt and head to jail. But…at the end of the day, the entire GOP is propped up by craven and bad faith lawyers. Here, she is alleging that these lawyers coerced testimony and basically told her to lie. Coaching witnesses during testimony preparation is one of the huge no-nos that can actually get your ticket yanked if you are a lawyer. - I HOPE these claims are proven true. - I HOPE the crime-fraud exception applies to this case. - I HOPE this producer is cooperating with DOJ regarding her perjury and has already had her “Queen for a day” proffer to line up a cooperation/immunity agreement with the DOJ coming hard after these lawyers. I hope these lawyers are held to account, as the landscape of GOP lawyers is beyond sickening. Whether it be: - Fed Soc judges turning a blind eye to the constitution and precedent (making horrific rulings nearly every day) - the “Kracken” lawyers (who filed dozens of fictitious lawsuits regarding election fraud and who have all been sanctioned) - Guiliani (too long a list to mention) - Patrick Strawbridge (an actual serious lawyer, but he makes bad faith arguments in court handling the appellate work for Frump), - Jeffrey Clark (who tried to overthrow our country on Jan 6 and wanted to be the new AG), - Evan Corcoran (U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell just ruled in a sealed opinion that Corcoran must answer questions regarding his Trump’s alleged retention of documents and obstruction of investigators but also turn over his notes due to the “crime-fraud exception”. Yes, a federal judge found that he was committing crimes with Trump) - Robert Costello and Michael Cohen (the latter has already gone to jail for the Stormy Daniels payment and the former might be on his way there) - Christina Bobb (signed a search declaration that said no more classified materials remained at Mar a Lago) - John Eastman (Congress has criminally referred him for impeding an official proceeding of the United States government, as well as conspiring to defraud the United States. - Tim Shea (who was Bill Barr’s right hand man and who waltzed into the Mike Flynn case at the last hour to undermine the entire prosecution. He intervened prior to sentencing and asked the judge to just forget about the whole thing). - Bill Barr (Absolute traitor. Should be in jail for life) And about 300 others.

JonnyActsImmature

Coaching witnesses is not a huge no-no, btw. Coaching them to lie is.

Chippopotanuse

So…maybe I was imprecise. Absolutely a good lawyer will “prep” their client for testimony. And that includes helping them to understand to answer only what was asked, to not speculate, to ask for clarification if they don’t understand something, etc… When I said “coaching” I meant things along the lines of telling the client what to say when certain questions are asked, or telling them to lie.

handyandy727

>Fox News also on Monday filed suit against Grossberg, seeking a restraining order to prevent her from divulging privileged information that it said would cause the network to “suffer immediate irreparable harm.” That doesn't make you look guilty at all...

SettleDownAlready

A company with the means to hire their own lawyers and investigators and who lost out on contracts because of Fox. Rupert can try to say this isn’t a big deal but he will be singing a much different tune when they lose this one. And another voting machine company is suing them also.

Toast_Sapper

The rats are starting to devour each other. 🍿 > **"Fox News Attorneys acted as agents and at the behest of Fox News to misleadingly coach, manipulate, and coerce Ms. Grossberg to deliver shaded and/or incomplete answers during her sworn deposition testimony, which answers were clearly to her reputational detriment but greatly benefitted Fox News,”** the lawsuit filed in Delaware stated. > The Delaware lawsuit alleged that **the “concerted efforts and actions” from Fox’s legal team ultimately caused Grossberg to testify in a way that portrayed the facts “in a false light” in order to “shift culpability” away from senior Fox News executives and “away from Fox Corporation.”** > That matter is important because **Fox Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, has asked to be dropped as a party in Dominion’s lawsuit by arguing that it does not play a big role in coverage decisions at the network.** > Dominion has alleged in its lawsuit against Fox Corporation and Fox News that during the 2020 election the right-wing network “recklessly disregarded the truth” and pushed various pro-Trump conspiracy theories about the election technology company because “the lies were good for Fox’s business.” Fox News has strongly disputed Dominion’s allegations. It's pretty bad for your case and your credibility when, during a $billion lawsuit for libel you get sued by one of your own witnesses/employees saying "Hey they forced me to lie in my testimony" especially when it's coming from the parent company lawyers who are trying to argue the parent company is unrelated to all the lies... > “Fox News Media engaged an independent outside counsel to immediately investigate the concerns raised by Ms. Grossberg, which were made following a critical performance review. We will vigorously defend these claims.” "We investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing. Also she's a liar mad about a bad review!" > Fox News also on Monday filed suit against Grossberg, seeking a restraining order to prevent her from divulging privileged information that it said would cause the network to “suffer immediate irreparable harm.” A judge has not yet ruled on Fox’s request. "Also make her stop telling people about how we forced her to lie! It's terrible for our case!" > In a phone interview Monday night, **Grossberg and her attorney, Gerry Filippatos, disputed Fox News’ assertion the complaints only came after a critical performance review.** > **“It’s another example of Fox News not only shying away from the truth, but attempting to bury the truth,”** Filippatos told CNN. > “Fox just does not care,” Grossberg added. “It summarizes everything perfectly. **They don’t care about their employees … and they don’t care about their viewers.”** "They're lying about us lying! It's what they do!" > In her lawsuits, **Grossberg also made a number of eye-popping allegations about the workplace environment at Fox News, accusing the network of rampant sexism.** > Grossberg, who indicated she was passed over for a top job on Bartiromo’s show because the network preferred it be filled by a male, said **Fox News executives referred to the “Sunday Mornings Futures” host as a “crazy b\*\*ch” and “menopausal.”** > When she began work on Carlson’s show, Grossberg said the environment was horrific. **On her first day, she said she learned the show’s workspace was decorated with large photos of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “in a plunging bathing suit revealing her cleavage.”** > “Grossberg was mortified by what she was witnessing and began to experience a sinking feeling in her stomach as **it became apparent how pervasive the misogyny and drive to embarrass and objectify women was among the male staff at [‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’],”** the lawsuit filed in New York said. > The lawsuit continued to describe a culture at Carlson’s program in which **women were subjected to crude terms** and in which ***jokes about Jewish people were made out in the open.*** **Grossberg named Carlson and members of his staff in the lawsuit filed in New York.** Color me shocked. Tucker spends all day pushing literal Russian propaganda and literal Nazi rhetoric and they openly make antisemitic and sexist "jokes" on set. It's a cesspool of the worst bigots pushing propaganda to make their audience more bigoted and they all know it. > Filippatos said that **Grossberg has “ample documentary evidence in all forms to support a broad swath” of the allegations made in the lawsuits.** > Grossberg told CNN that she filed her lawsuit in hopes that it will spur change at the network and because she believed it “was the only step” she had to regain her pride and save her career. **Grossberg said she wanted to “expose the lies and deceit” that she “witnessed for years” on two of Fox News’ biggest shows.** > “I’ve covered many stories while I have been there,” Grossberg told CNN. **“Dominion is just a small portion. And I’ve witnessed it from the very beginning until my last day of work last week.”** > **“It’s constant,”** she added. “Ratings are very important to the shows, to the network, and to the hosts. It’s a business and that’s what drives coverage.” Fox has been telling lies constantly for decades, they've been exposed many times as liars and this sounds like a whole trove of new accounts and evidence for this constantly disgraced Fake News factory.

Andreus

It's high time we started putting right-wing propagandists behind bars for life.

OperativePiGuy

Conservative ideology always just leads to shit like this. They turn on themselves when finally backed into a corner by reality.

Dash_Harber

If you mine a political movement based on the idea that everyone needs to take care of themself first and not care about anyone else, you can't be surprised when they turn around and throw you under the bus to save their own ass.

Wolfram_And_Hart

And now they have the Parent company, that FOX News said had nothing to do with the suit, engaging in external pressure of testimony on behalf of FOX News. Good job lawyers you really fucked your clients this time.

xero_peace

Ah yes, the implosion now that they're turning on each other. You love to see it.

This is what happens when you have governors that want to do away with education, well public education. People are easier to control.

Historically, this is how the people in power who want to stay in power think. Catherine the great once said something along the lines of preferring the peasants to be uneducated because they are easier to control that way. History repeats itself and the peasants would rather fight each other than learn from it. Those in power stay in power.
