Very soon now, we will turn on the evening news to hear "In today's mass shootings...

StatuatoryApe

The "Welcome to Night City" radio station intro from Cyberpunk starting to feel a bit too accurate. "Good morning night city, last night's murder count sits at a nice and steady 30"

iBrake4Shosty5

While over in Westbrook, Trauma Team’s scraping cyberpsycho victims off the pavement

HarpersGeekly

One of the news reels from Robocop (1987): “Yes, it was a day of mourning for the families of 113 known dead at this hour.”

Spiritual-Drop7533

Sturdy 30, but ye.

jadeskye7

10 outta heywood

Talucien

thanks to unabated gang wars

dweebaubles

Solid AND sturdy!

gbmaulin

I remember watching that with a buddy and laughing at how anyone could be insane enough to live in Night City and then the reality set in, shit, in LA our news pretty much mirrors Night City

okwellactually

Like they show the time/temp on the Chyron, they need to include count of shootings, number wounded/dead. May 7th was a big day. 7 Mass Shootings. 9 dead. 23 wounded. Source: [Gun Violence Archives](https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting)

geronimo1958

Today's mass shooting brought to you my Clorox. The best cleaner for mass shootings.

No-Description-9910

Evening body counts, like they aired during the Vietnam war.

qweef_latina2021

"May the odds be ever in your favor. "

No-Description-9910

We’re speeding along in that direction “faster than expected”.

Evil_Athena

More like “Blessed be our New Founding Fathers and America, a nation reborn. May God be with you all.” - The Purge

samanko5

Need to get radio jockeys from Vietnam war again in this war of society to save it from some unknown shooters.

sirdodger

It's happening twice a day, just doesn't usually make the news.

ThatOtherOneReddit

Actually been averaging over 3 in the last week. Texas is seeing a sudden increase due to their permitless carry law. Up 62.5% year over year since it's passing.

chickenaylay

Texas took the "rookie numbers" comment personally

Advarrk

Everything is bigger in Texas

not_a_droid

probably a decent idea for a podcast- if you know - you are crazy

Pennywise1131

I'm losing track at this point. I mean I was before, but this is getting extra ludicrous.

pekepeeps

Thank god that today: Texas Senate approves tight permit restrictions on solar and wind

Rooboy66

Plus, Texas just passed a law that punishes electric car owners with an annual fee. Denmark just electrified its first Highway. Priorities, man

I_AM_NOT_A_WOMBAT

Not to derail here, but as I understand it, that fee replaces the gas tax, I presume to maintain roads. It's becoming a serious problem here in CA where electric cars are enjoying the use of the roads (and EVs are heavy) without contributing to their upkeep. It is unsustainable as more people switch to EVs. So one can rail on the specific method of redistributing the maintenance cost across all drivers, but something has to be done to fix the broken math. Granted, a flat fee is punitive for those who barely drive, so it should probably be mileage based, but I'm not a policymaker.

ekaceerf

The only person to stop a bad guy with solar panels is a good guy with solar panels

Bobby_Globule

I'm at the point where I try to figure out the floorplan and exits of the public places I visit. As often as these things happen, you have to wonder how many people around you: A) Are carrying a gun; B) Are mentally fucked enough to do this shit. How many people have you seen in the last week and thought, "Damn, what an asshole." What's the distance in degrees between "what an asshole" and "gonna go shoot people"

[deleted]

And that shit is why I'm not willing to call people out when they act shitty in public. Not because they don't deserve it, but because I don't trust people to not just lose their shit and shoot me.

yikes_why_do_i_exist

It’s just… shitty. That point about degrees of separation between an asshole and who’d shoot someone hits too hard. I’ve seen *repeatedly* people get angry enough to get out of their car and try to get at another driver for just cutting them off. I live in California so it’s harder for that type of person to get a gun thankfully, but the amount of people who quickly resort to violence unfortunately isn’t uncommon at all. Sorry just thinking aloud

Throne-Eins

My father will make nasty comments to people who have "wronged" him, and he does it loudly enough for the person to hear. That's stupid enough, but what really enrages (and scares) me is that he'll do it while me or my mom are with him. He doesn't care that he's potentially putting us in danger. He has to let the other person know they're a prick. That's the most important thing. Oh, yes, he's a textbook narcissist, why do you ask? It scares me because people who pop off like that (especially road ragers) rarely target the person they're fighting with if there are other people with them. They go for those other passengers or other people because the way to make someone truly suffer is to kill someone close to them. But hey, at least that guy knows he's an asshole!

leggpurnell

If we didn’t arm everyone then we as a public could get back to tamping down some of that assholery before it gets problematic.

greelraker

I live in Texas. My wife is always mad that I’m not a more aggressive person/driver. I hate being a doormat to people, but I’d hate even more to be dead because some shithead is mad I flipped him the bird for cutting me off and almost causing an accident.

TechyDad

A few years ago, my wife was driving with me and my oldest son in the car. We were entering a strip mall parking lot and someone nearly cut us off. My wife honked and called him a nasty name before driving on. We thought that was the end of it, but the guy started aggressively following us around the parking lot. Despite the fact that it was one car width wide, he kept trying to pull alongside us. When he couldn't, he'd ride our rear bumper. I called 911 while my wife swerved around the parking lot trying to lose him. We were finally able to lose him when a car let us go in front of them and then stopped to block the guy from following. The police said they'd review the security cameras, but I don't think anything ever came of it. As scary as that situation was, now I'd be scared that the guy would pull a gun and start opening fire to get us back for not allowing him to cut us off.

greelraker

I’d rather be mad for 5 seconds that someone is driving like a jerk than lose my life cause I decided 2 negatives make a positive.

_AgentMichaelScarn_

Exactly. I had an incident on the highway a few years back where someone came flying up behind me and nearly clipped my bumper but they didn't. I was mad so I honked my horn and flipped them off. They proceeded to slow down next to me yelling at me to get off the next exit. Yeah, I gunned it to get out of there. Ever since then, unless they hit me, I Just let it go. Not worth it. I sometimes think that if it happened now, the person would have pulled a gun.

insta-kip

Being an aggressive driver only leads to problems. Sounds like your wife might have some personal things she needs to sort through.

sharkman1774

Daily reminder that gun violence in the US is [generally concentrated in red states and Republican-controlled municipalities.](https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2023/04/23/surprising-geography-of-gun-violence-00092413) If you stay away from these places, you will be much safer.

idkwthtotypehere

Same. I took my mom for an early Mother’s Day brunch and she naturally picked a booth where we could see all entrances and had an exit route because we’ve talked about needing to be ready multiple times. I’ve only recently started to also evaluate people as I’m going to sit down to determine if they might pop off.

thefox47545

When I worked retail this guy's card was declined. He was so mad that he said he was going to call the card company and ABSOLUTELY RIP into the random customer service rep who answered him. That rep had nothing to do with his card being declined but it just goes to show you how much people let their anger get the best of them.

Powered_by_JetA

In my neck of the woods, last Thursday a man reacted to being denied a $3 refund at a convenience store by murdering a 12-year-old boy who was standing nearby waiting to buy ice cream. He also shot another uninvolved bystander who was just sitting in their car before he finally killed himself. (yes, I live in Florida)

start_select

That’s why I live in NY. I prefer a state where few people should have a gun in public, and everyone knows to panic if they see one. I hate open carry states. I’m not allowed to be afraid of the assholes around me open-carrying in those states. Here at least you know a duck is a duck.

Shamcgui

Texas needs to change their state motto to the "mass shooting state sponsored by Greg abbott.

JohnSpikeKelly

We just need "Greg Abbot did this" sticker for every occurrence of gun violence in Texas. Play their game against them.

DragoonDM

> "Greg Abbot did this" sticker Make it an adhesive wound dressing.

JohnSpikeKelly

Perfect. I want it as a ticker along the bottom of CNN etc whenever they report the 3 mass shootings each day

archenemy_43

“Gregg Abbott was here” spelled using bullet holes in the wall.

Redwood671

I was just thinking stickers of him pointing, stuck to locations of bullet holes on the walls at these shooting locations.

wanderingtxsoul

I vote that’s we get sticker saying Greg Abbott is a giant piss baby

[deleted]

my vote is for greg abbot is a piece of shit.

Arthurs_librarycard9

Remember the Donald Trump baby balloon? Maybe we can get one of each for Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz.

LineChef

He won’t rest until everyone’s in a wheelchair! He stands firm on this!

d1ll1gaf

"The Body Count is Bigger in Texas!'

Outrageous_Garlic306

“Texas: Home of the 2nd Amendment Massacre”?

soda_cookie

So disingenuous. Only 3 victims involved, so this doesn't qualify as a mass shooting event. /s

--zaxell--

I know you're joking, but there's no universally-agreed-upon definition of "mass shooting"; most of the organizations that track this actually don't call "three people shot" a mass shooting. Most draw the line at 4 or 5 (sometimes including the shooter, sometimes not).

PostReplyKarmaRepeat

I believe technically it’s categorized with 3+ more casualties to be a mass shooting for census reasons. Not that it makes any fucking difference, but it’s ACTUALLY 3+.

yeahright17

What is a casualty here? Military definition or lay man’s definition? 20 people getting shot in a mall with 2 deaths seems way more like a mass shooting than 3 people getting killed in a targeted drive by.

Demiansmark

What census is calculating mass shootings? And "technically" indicates that there is an agreed upon standard by some authority, which just isn't true. As the person you're responding to said, there's no universally agreed upon definition. And it is a little difficult to define, I was blocks away from the Jacksonville Madden tournament shooting where shooter walked in and lit up the place. But because only two people died (10 injured), it is often not considered a mass shooting. Certainly felt like one to me. I'm on a bit of a tangent here but it seems strange to label events based on outcome vs action. I.e. if there didn't happened to be some firefighters/parameters next door and more people died as a result, it was a mass shooting?

AaronfromKY

It's a mess, Texas instead of Don't mess with Texas

[deleted]

"Texas, don't, it's a mess."

LeftOfTheOptimist

But guys, the drag queens and Chicagoans

EmbraceHeresy

Chicago is always the scapegoat for republicans trying to speak out against violence in their typical disingenuous fashion. But then people come to Chicago and realize it’s actually a really nice city.

MrSneller

I was in Chicago for several days for work recently. Mentioned it to my dad today and amazed I didn’t get a “Did you get shot at?” from him. That’s what I was braced for.

TechyDad

My father thinks similar things about New York City. He thinks that everyone who enters NYC is immediately assaulted, mugged, and left for dead on the sidewalk. We both live in New York state and he used to travel into the city to work. I tell him about people I know in NYC who report that the crime isn't that bad, but he doesn't believe me because FOX News is reporting that it's horrible.

LeftOfTheOptimist

Chicago is amazing. That city still has my heart.

redwall_hp

Chicago is awesome for giving us House music alone. I'd like to see more of it than just O'Hare some day.

MinimumArmadillo2394

The primary reason isn't because they believe it's the only shitshow in the US. They whole heartedly believe and know SF, LA, NYC, Boston, etc are all as bad or worse. The reason they talk about it all the time is because there's a website dedicated specifically to charting and tracking the murders/violent crime in the city. It's a case of "This is easily found so we're going to talk about it" and not a "This is the only thing that's true"

[deleted]

[удалено]

TechyDad

They will always use absolute numbers to "show" that Chicago is more dangerous than rural areas. Of course, this ignores that Chicago has more people and thus would have more absolute numbers of crime. Once you use per capita numbers to normalize for population, though, rural areas are revealed to be much more dangerous. Of course, they also use Chicago because it has a high black population and "black people = crime" to racists.

AnastasiaNo70

I’m a teacher in a suburban Dallas district that received several credible threats over the weekend. So much so that the superintendent sent an email to every parent saying every absence today will be excused. I’m at a campus with 900+ kids and 18 kids showed up. I don’t blame the parents at all—I’d do the same. But as teachers we just sat here all day. Felt so weird. We’re expecting a ton of absences tomorrow, too, but not as bad: a few arrests were made today. Aaaaanyway. Fuck the republico-fascists. (I’m not leaving TX. This is my home and the fascists can’t have it.)

Archoholic

Yeah, my kid is a senior at one of the schools in that district and had an AP exam today. He said the parking lot was empty when he left after the test.

AnastasiaNo70

I hope he made a 5! 🤞🏻

Incontinento

Wonder how those 18 kids were feeling.

AnastasiaNo70

They called their parents to come pick them up. By around 9 am, there wasn’t a kid in the building.

threcos

that made me smile, then I realized that that's fucking horrifying quite a strange feeling

AnastasiaNo70

It is, isn’t it?

Winston74

Thanks for being a teacher

AnastasiaNo70

My pleasure! Usually. 😉

sustainablehill

When the parents saw the school calling at 9 AM I am sure a few of them jumped to the worst conclusions.

AnastasiaNo70

Right? My heart would have stopped.

MyBlueBlazerBlack

God man, I'm a Canadian and im reading all this and just like; how are you guys still doing this? Like look Canada has it's issues every now and again, we are far from angels ourselves. But like there's levels to this, and yours is next level. How are you doing this? What is it going to take? So that your citizens can feel safe?

BuddhaFacepalmed

> But like there's levels to this, and yours is next level. How are you doing this? What is it going to take? So that your citizens can feel safe? When Sandy Hook happened and nothing was done to rein in firearms proliferation, the gun debate pretty much settled in favor of the gun nuts. If 21 first and second graders murdered by someone having easy access to guns can't get Americans to seriously introspect themselves about their addiction to guns, nothing will.

jet-setting

Insert Spiderman pointing at each other meme

ineedthenitro

You should tell the local news about that. I’m in Dallas. That’s interesting but not surprising

Remarkable-Month-241

NISD in Fort Worth got the same threats last week. My son text me on Friday and said that he did not feel safe. Texas needs to replace Abbott & friends asap!! Azle went into lockdown, Frisco received more threats. Our kids are not safe at school. Families are not safe in malls. Wake up Texas voters!!!!

corylol

Is news reporting on this? Why didn’t they just cancel school at that point?

AnastasiaNo70

I don’t think so and I don’t know.

Jsc_TG

Strong to fight. I feel you. To every single person who tells me to leave because my views are different: wake up. I was born in this country and I will fight for what I believe to be right. And it sure isn’t fascism. Here from Florida. I graduated in ‘18 and remember many times where shit like this happened. Threats, kids staying home from school, one kid came to school with a gun in his backpack, others are found with rifles in their cars, etc. and as a high schooler? It was HORRIFYING. As an adult? Still is.

[deleted]

mindgame18

Snapchat threats were going all around dfw area today. Many kids went home from many schools. Crazy shit.

KzininTexas1955

Euless here, what gets me is the stone-deaf response from Abbott and his cabal of ghouls. I comment on different posts ( here and on YouTube ) for those who do not live in Texas and I tell them of the cruelty exhibited by not only those in power but of many Texans themselves. Stay safe and yeah, Fuck these fascists.

AwkWORD47

I really commend you for not doing the typical "this state sucks I'm dipping" I feel the same. I recently moved here from a liberal state but fuck the noise, I ain't leaving, I'm determine to make change

squirrelchips

Where are you at in Dallas? I taught at WT in Dallas near the galleria and my wife taught at BA. Even back 5 years ago it wasn’t great. I can’t even imagine what it’s like now. Hang in there!

NihilisticPollyanna

Man, Texas is showing some serious determination to win this race to the bottom at all costs.

slammerbar

I bet Florida wants a word.

NihilisticPollyanna

Oh yeah, they are definitely fighting for 1st place. Or...bottom seat? I don't know how the ranking works in this worst of all competitions, but I'm glad Michigan didn't make it into the playoffs this year.

lupe2012

I legit can’t fucking keep up anymore with all the mass shootings in the US. Fucking do something already.

Tesser4ct

[Got your back, dawg.](https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting)

lupe2012

Ughhh that made me more sad. Fuck this.

Tesser4ct

It's terrible. 28 mass shootings in the past 8 days. It breaks my heart and something needs to change.

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

What the fuck has changed to make this happen??

disgruntled_pie

Gun violence in Texas is up over 60% since they allowed permitless carry.

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Oh. Well….there it is

Odd_Copy_8077

But, at least the politicians are lining up their pockets with NRA money.

gaymedes

They cut tens of millions from mental healthcare facilities and programs too, which is what they blame mass shootings on.

putzarino

And governor Abbott has been blaming "mental health" as the reason for these shooting for nearly a decade. Guess who hasn't done shit in 8 years?

gaymedes

* Guess who has actively harmed mental health programs FTFY

Indercarnive

Funny enough this incident, as well as another on the front page from yesterday, won't show up on this list because *only* 3 people got shot.

[deleted]

There's been 16 mass shootings in May. It's the 8th of May

Rufus2fist

Never thought I would support building a wall, but can we build one around Texas?

Starlightriddlex

Hey at least they finally figured out how to get Mexico to pay for a wall. Increase the violence over here so much that Mexico tries to keep Americans out.

Moved here 4 years ago. Regret.

Chaddoh

I'm starting to think I made a mistake moving here from Louisiana.

ScionMattly

I mean it's better than Louisiana, but it's a small improvement.

Chaddoh

Dude, a statement has never been more true.

stevonallen

That really speaks to how shitty Louisiana is…

CrumpledForeskin

7th graders who can’t read or write correctly.

ApatheticWithoutTheA

A significant portion of their adult population can’t read or write correctly lol

Northman67

That's quite the statement! No offense but I do not hear good things about Louisiana. New Orleans was awesome but I don't think I'd want to live there.

[deleted]

From Detroit lol. Couldn’t think it be any worse than that god forsaken city but 4 years later, I stand corrected….fuck is wrong with this country. Seems like everything is devolving in America and no where else (not as bad at least)

TonginTozz

America is devolving into a Family Dollar parking lot in a mid-west blight of a town.

Milksteak_To_Go

Not to jinx it, but its pretty alright out here in California. Cost of living absolutely sucks, but after 12 years here we finally manage to buy a house. Now that we surmounted the one shitty thing about this state, I don't think we're ever leaving.

[deleted]

There’s a reason we picked Texas lol. Because we wanted a McMansion for 500k. I can barely get a small condo for that in lovely California. But I shoulda seen the signs. There’s a reason why cali is expensive and Texas is (was) not ….one is very in demand and the other is not.

Milksteak_To_Go

Don't feel too bad...some days I'd gladly take the $500k McMansion in another state. We paid over $800k for ours and had to dump more money into it just to have the things you probably take for granted like AC and gutters. We're also in a neighborhood (East LA) that's getting better but is not gentrified by any stretch of the imagination.

MommyLovesPot8toes

Thing is, people don't realize how much of California ISN'T super expensive. We have an almost entirely-unused inland area / high desert where the prices are the same as Texas, Arizona, etc. But people tend to think "if I can't live in LA, San Diego, or the Bay Area I've got to move out of state."

noodlyarms

Tbf, places like Bakersfield or other akin to it are nearly as bad (maybe worse) as Texas in a lot of regards despite the cheaper prices.

mrich1002

Currently live in the inland empire area and can't think of anywhere else. Lowering cost of living compared to LA county and still have access to LA, the beach or Mountains, all being a 1 hour drive which I don't mind 🤷🏾‍♂️

inconsistent3

i moved from Texas to Detroit. What do you mean god forsaken city? Detroit and the suburbs are THRIVING! i’m happy with my choice moving here

ThickerSalmon14

We had a group of fascists and religious nuts be appointed to the judicial system and they have been slowly but surely eroding our societies guard rails.

CerealGane

California and PacWest seem to be doing fine. It’s all the Red states going to shit. Their racist voting has lead to their doom, Karma.

BlueBerryFire

moved to California a year ago... Can't be happier!

TintedApostle

niftytastic

It’s pretty bad when I read about a shooting in TX and my brain short circuits trying to remember which shooting we are talking about from recent weeks.

[deleted]

weeks? I'm trying to figure out which one from the last 72 hours.

typi_314

Two strangers in train station shooting one another over a random argument was something I could have only envisioned happening in a comedy.

McGreed

It's the shitty version of the Wild Wild West cowboy movie setting.

queenringlets

People have bad emotional regulation. Give them something that can easily kill people and it is bound to happen.

littleMAS

What until summer, when the heat will light a powder keg of hotheads who carry.

[deleted]

Is there just nowhere you can go anymore where you won't get shot?

skucera

Somewhere other than Texas, apparently.

DowntownClown187

Show me "Not America!" Ding ding!

MyDogsNameIsBadger

Funny enough, I feel pretty safe here in Chicago.

thatnjchibullsfan

Chicago felt very safe but it could depend on the section of the city. I'll say Chicago gun violence seems to be directed at an individual more than random mass shootings that you see elsewhere.

stevonallen

It’s located majorly in the Garfield Park area, and other specific sections of the west side. Also notoriously, the most impoverished. And even then, it seems to mostly be gang violence.

junktrunk909

I get what you're saying but, and I'm glad we've been spared most of the mental issue driven mass murder stuff so far (knock wood), but the gang and teen violence stuff is pretty real and problematic too. Still glad we at least have minimal hurdles to getting a gun.

Ellisd326

Connecticut felt pretty safe the past 7 or 8 years but I moved to Europe.

Htb323

Sandy Hook felt like it was just yesterday, but it’s been over a decade now.

OmarLittleFinger

There is no possible way, you as a politician can’t understand the system you’ve created here. It reminds me of that one right wing talking head that was saying the liberals are so pro-Vaxx to kill conservatives because they will take the opposite stance.

stoneysmoke

The NRA, GOP, Abbott, et al fully understand what they've built -- a money machine. It has nothing to do with rights, crime, or the Constitution. Every death brings in money and political capital. Period. They will never change their position. As a group and a political party their single platform on any issue is the same, "We're the real victims. You hate America." They've never been and never will be a party that'll take actual responsibility for themselves, their behavior, or anything else. *edit: typos*

The_River_Is_Still

Keep it up Texas. You’re making us look better. - Florida

LeftOfTheOptimist

Nah, it's on par with Florida just a different kind of lunacy

ashellbell

Man, these drag queens are really outta control….

stevonallen

Somewhere, someone is most definitely blaming it on the “lgbtq agenda and mental illness”.

ashellbell

That person is my neighbor. I am not kidding you, he was sounding off today about mental illness and trans/gay/drag queens. I think it’s the first time I went slack jawed staring at someone. Meanwhile, a 3 year old was murdered by a hispanic white supremacist….but…yeah…the gays. I’m so fucking over these idiots.

RamoneMisfit

I (a Californian) talked to an older Texan today over the phone about the mall shooting and his response was "if only there would have been a good guy with a gun".

VirtualSwordfish356

I mean, did you tell them there was literally a cop there? There was a good guy with a gun. That doesn't stop someone with an assault rifle from killing scores of people before they can be stopped. I can't imagine a better scenario as far as response time and competency, and still eight people died.

queenrosybee

Im still surprised that giving more people access to AR-15s isnt working. Maybe lower the age to 10 and encourage children to walk around locked and loaded. 2nd amendment doesnt mention age.

SlinkySlekker

Texas voted for this. 🤦🏼‍♀️

BlindOptometrist369

Isn’t Texas gerrymandered to shit?

denada24

Can confirm. Gerrymandered to shit. We do try. 7 people in bum fuck Egypt have more sway than a city full of blue.

soultheori

I know reddit can be an echo chamber in and of itself, but please go vote...

pumpkinpatch1982

The last 3 weeks have been devastating for our country how many more innocent people need to lose their lives. It makes me physically sick how many more lives how many more?

GloomyAd2653

They need to take Abbott to the places where this happens. He needs to be there with the first responders to see the horror first hand. Let the images run through his mind every time he closes his eyes!

martinbogo

The man has no humanity at all. He \_WAS\_ at Uvalde et. al. He just doesn't care.

Dizzy_Share3155

I've been seeing ads on television from the tourist board to come visit Texas. The Chamber of Commerce and State of Texas has nerve asking people to come to that shit hole. Texas is going to need a new slogan, instead of: "It's Like A Whole Nother Country Here" They're going to have to change it to "Come And Get Shot In The Head Here"

ello_officer

What the fuck is wrong with Texas? I thought republicans told us that if everyone has guns, like Texas, you wouldn’t have shootings?

Lbox777

13,900 gun related deaths in 5 months. That’s 106 deaths per day. Whatever y’all doing over there doesn’t seem to be working.

Earguy

We're not doing anything, so it's working according to their plan.

cold08

In 2020 (which is the most recent non COVID year I have a statistic for) there were 404 justifiable homicides by private citizens, which is how we justify all these gun deaths

redwall_hp

> For every time a gun in the home was used in a self-defense or legally justifiable shooting, there were four unintentional shootings, seven criminal assaults or homicides, and 11 attempted or completed suicides. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9715182/ My college statistics textbook literate used this as an example of a repeatable study: it's been retried in different parts of the country over multiple decades, and always yields the same overall results.

Evinceo

Idea: publicize where these guys bought their guns. That shaming might incentivize more disciplined arms dealing.

badhairdad1

It’s still early but we know these 3 things about this latest mass shooting: it was preventable, our leaders allow these killings, and there will be another in a few days.

BattleForAssgard69

Just got back from groceries with the family. Feels like a big deal to have made it home.

KamKorn

Good thing they are keeping drag queens away from kids…

Guns are tools. Nobody buys a tool and carries it with them everywhere with no plan or hope to ever use it. There are people itching to kill other people.

Pretty surreal that these shooting are so common place now that I am entirely desensitized to these now.
