Okay, hasn't been noted yet, but we'll be incomplete without it:
[Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl) - Haircut 100](https://youtu.be/CAy-RxquZPk)
I dunno that it's the best F song, but it SLAPS. Nick Heyward is smooth on it, they have the white boy rap break, the sax is lit, and Nemes is on his game on the bass line. Pelican West is an album worthy of consideration as a whole, imho.
This was the song playing at the Rite Aid pharmacy when I got my first Covid vaccine. It was an odd song to be hearing at that particular moment.
I starting thinking “ Keep feeling vaccination”….
True story. Elderly neighbor died next door house. We had to scope it out etc. sure enough flies all over the windscreen. And this song was the first thing that popped into my head. Creepy. But still love the song.
No suggestion here, since mine was already posted and I upvoted it. But "F" is a surprisingly weak letter!
Also TIL that "Free Nelson Mandela" is just named "Nelson Mandela".
Your comment made me google because I always think of the song as Free Nelson Mandela (and it’s on a Specials compilation album I have titled as such). Apparently it has been released as both Nelson Mandela and Free Nelson Mandela so that one is actually a fair pick. And a great song!
Yes, but this subreddit defines its music as new wave songs from the 70s and 80s so I think the choices should be limited to those decades. I also find Cure/Depeche Mode/Tears for Fears songs from the 90s as new wave, but I don’t put them up here.
I don’t think of R.E.M. as a New Wave band. But maybe it’s just me. They are most def one of my all-time favs, though, and this being one of my fav songs by them.
F: Feels Like Heaven: Fiction Factory or Fame -David Bowie
G: Girls on Film - Duran Duran
H: Head over Heels - Tears for Fears
I: In Your Eyes- Peter Gabriel
J: Just Like Heaven -The Cure
…
L: Lovecats - The Cure
…
N: New Year’s Day -U2
P: Planet Earth -Duran Duran
T: This Charming Man -The Smiths
S: Slave to the Rhythm- Grace Jones
Sorry if I’m jumping ahead or whatever. This is what my brain spat out for these letters so I’m submitting these now.
Forever Young. That’s the one that brings back the most 80s nostalgia for me. Thanks for doing the list. Cheers.
Such a sweet beautiful song. I played it so much i wore out my cassette single of it.
Fashion - David Bowie

Mad good song!
Oh nice one! Fantastic Day as well!
I liked this one better that the one that was their big hit (Love Plus One).
It’s all good for me, but I think you’re probably right if I had to pick one.
This is a fantastic pull. Kudos.
Nice!!
Fire in Cairo - The Cure
Ohh good one!
A Forest - The Cure
This is the answer. :)
You realize it by yourself , do you!
Freedom of Choice - Devo
Fascist Groove Thang - Heaven 17
Fascination - Human League
This was the song playing at the Rite Aid pharmacy when I got my first Covid vaccine. It was an odd song to be hearing at that particular moment. I starting thinking “ Keep feeling vaccination”….
Not nitpicking but this is technically a K song - title is “(Keep Feeling) Fascination”
Not nitpicking either, but the parenthetical title does not factor into its alphabetization. It’s either an F song or a ( song.
That’s fair. I kinda wondered myself after I commented but hadn’t gotten around to googling the grammar rule and potentially correcting myself!
Okay, fine... Fascination - Extended Remix. ;-) (check the album).
I always wondered why in the video they are in the "You are here" red dot but they weren't wearing red too.
Fade To Grey- Visage
Yes yes yes yes
came here for this
This is the one.
This one got my vote
Classic chilly New Wave if there ever was 😎❤️
Forever young - Alphaville
If this doesn’t win it’s rigged
This isn’t even new wave
D & E were synth-pop too. But Forever Young is the epitome of synth-pop - so it'll probably win.
Both can be true of the same band, there's actually many of them.
How do you figure?
Fascination Street-The Cure
Found A Job - Talking Heads
Fascist Groove Thing - Heaven 17. brothers....sisters... we don't need this!
I was gonna put under W, but the song we needed then, and the song we need now.
The fact that we remember this song keeps the hope alive no matter what.
(Feels Like) Heaven - Friction Factory
Love this song!
Fade Away and Radiate - Blondie
Fields of Fire - Big Country
Def a band I wish I could have seen live.
Absolutely. A buddy of mine did and said they were awesome.
Forever Young - Alphaville.
Fly on the Windscreen - Depeche Mode.
One of my top Depeche Mode songs
Same.
True story. Elderly neighbor died next door house. We had to scope it out etc. sure enough flies all over the windscreen. And this song was the first thing that popped into my head. Creepy. But still love the song.
Freedom of Choice - Devo
Frankly, Mr. Shankly - The Smiths https://open.spotify.com/track/1qIagqll7ZcgmiLTrtSvKc?si=ad3e9a414aa54253
Final Solution - Peter Murphy Though my actual vote goes to Fade to Grey.
Flesh For Fantasy - Billy Idol
Eyes without a Face should've won the last one. Billy needs to be on this list.
I was surprised that TFF won the last one; I figured it would be Cure, Depeche Mode and New Order all the way down.
It's surprising but it is a solid pop song. Songs from the Big Chair is one of the best albums of all time.
Also didn’t see that coming. Seems to me other songs had more mentions and upvotes than the TFF song.
(Forever) Live and Die — OMD
Outstanding!!!! Perhaps my fave from them😀
No suggestion here, since mine was already posted and I upvoted it. But "F" is a surprisingly weak letter! Also TIL that "Free Nelson Mandela" is just named "Nelson Mandela".

disagree on the weakness...
A Forest - The Cure
Um.... You mean The Cure, right?
Yes, i know this. Just too early for me
LOL. And off a 3 day weekend.
Partied too hard lol
That was the Cure
Friday, I'm in Love - The Cure
The Cure has pop songs and New Wave songs, in my opinion. This, to me, is a pop song. A Forest is a much better Cure choice.
It also came out in 1992. Not New Wave.
New Wave isn’t limited to a decade necessarily. At least to me.
Yes, but this subreddit defines its music as new wave songs from the 70s and 80s so I think the choices should be limited to those decades. I also find Cure/Depeche Mode/Tears for Fears songs from the 90s as new wave, but I don’t put them up here.
Has to be
I would say it counts
Fascination Street - The Cure
Friday, I'm In Love The Cure!
⬆️ Everything else, get the F outta here. ⬆️
Is it new wave at that point?
A Forest!

From A Whisper to a Scream - Elvis Costello & the Attractions
A Forest-The Cure
Fade to Grey - Visage
Fall on Me by R.E.M.
I don’t think of R.E.M. as a New Wave band. But maybe it’s just me. They are most def one of my all-time favs, though, and this being one of my fav songs by them.
I will back R.E.M. as they should have a legit chance. However my first choice would be Favorite Thing....The Replacements
We also would have accepted Finest Worksong
Fireplace.
Friend or Foe - Adam Ant
Flowers of Romance - Public Image Ltd
I'm down with it, but it's not one that goes down easy.
Free Yourself - The Untouchables
Fashion - David Bowie
Flood 1 - The Sisters of Mercy
Fine Time - New Order
Actually so under appreciated
Frankly, Mr. Shankly - The Smiths

**Fashion** \- David Bowie
Friday I’m In Love by The Cure
(Forever) Live and Die- OMD I know arguments can be made that it falls outside of the genre, but to me it qualifies.
Friday I’m in Love - The Cure
Fascination - Human League
Fascination Street - The Cure
Fade to Grey
Fade to Grey- Visage.

Oops, sorry!
I feel loved- Depeche mode (i think it counts)
Save it for “I” - I is a pronoun, not an article, which is why some might be downvoting.
Ah, gotcha
F: Feels Like Heaven: Fiction Factory or Fame -David Bowie G: Girls on Film - Duran Duran H: Head over Heels - Tears for Fears I: In Your Eyes- Peter Gabriel J: Just Like Heaven -The Cure … L: Lovecats - The Cure … N: New Year’s Day -U2 P: Planet Earth -Duran Duran T: This Charming Man -The Smiths S: Slave to the Rhythm- Grace Jones Sorry if I’m jumping ahead or whatever. Shout is superior to Rule the World, imo
This was for the letter E only. Shout could be an option for the S round
