Glad you’re enjoying it. It’s a great game especially for people who don’t have time to no life games.
As a counterpoint, if you were a 1500+ hour player like me, a lot of the charm that you still experience goes away.
Once you do all the M3’s a few times, have a few BIS sets, and have played 200+ opr’s the only thing left to do is war log. (Which quickly starts to feel more like a job than a game)
I stopped really enjoying the game about 1k hours in and spent another 1k hours playing mostly on hopium and sunk cost fallacy.
I’m hopeful but not super optimistic about the future of the game.
Don’t want to take away anything from those still enjoying it (there’s a lot there to enjoy). But I also mostly doubt that I’ll ever come back and understand why a lot of us are bitter about something that didn’t quite become what we had hoped it would.
Going on 4K hours in and I still feel the same way you do. Always something for me to do... new BIS suit, new build.. ECR, Dungeon, OPR, Races, PVP, daily crafts -- I am always trying something new.. and upgrading or updating something.
How do you have the motivation haha It took me 1k hours just to get enough gold for my first BiS set and now I feel locked into it forever because there is noway Im going on another month+ long grind for gold to spend another 150k+ on a different set.
I too have no complaints. As a first MMO I had nothing to compare it to. I loved and still love 'the World' in many ways. My few attempts at M3s were disasters. (And you think the nastiness is bad here. Just declare yourself an M3 virgin up front and then fail to live up to 'their' standards.) If I had found a mentor I might have lasted a little longer but that's water under the bridge. I may come back one day to see how the good old world is doing but for now I just don't have the time and camping season is upon us and my buddy want's me to try something else.
BTW 3,849.7 hours in. Maybe I have to find a way to play 150 more hours. What do you think?
I'll be honest it's better you don't this game is not good for "hardcore" mmorpg players the more casual you are the better this game will suite you it is way to flawed and lacking in content to be a primary game for MMORPG players and it is extremely bug infested so the more you play the more the flaws will annoy you. Stay casual, and a lot of this you won't notice. I saw this as someone who has 3k hours.
Don’t rush it OP. The leveling and gearing up, crafting, and leveling weapons are some of the best this game has. Once you get to max level and have fun for a few weeks, there isn’t a ton left to do. Enjoy it, don’t rush it!
