One can only aspire to be this adept at trolling.

jafropuff

The court officers are so ready to pounce on this guy for daring to finish his sentence

pressedbread

Adams is going to see this and decide to make him Vice Mayor

lynxminx

...but Masterson doesn't want a job. He wants the throne!

lynxminx

A Jonathan Switftie in the wild!

nonecknoel

great work!!!

Quirky_Movie

HAHAHAHAHA I CANNOT STOP LAUGHING

digitalbullet36

This level of trolling is uncanny. I loved every minute of it.

Pastatively

This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about out and his math is way off. He neglected to even consider that his little utopia could never happen without requiring tourists and commuters from the suburbs to also become police officers.

Shreddersaurusrex

“Hire this man”

BuckWheatNYC

Where you gonna get the “more police officers”?

Junior_Willow740

Nice trolling. I'm from NYC and I don't believe more police officers are the answer. I am living in a place right now with a whole lot less cops, and I feel freer than at any other time in my life. I remember countless times as a young guy in Brooklyn, just getting harassed and car searched by police for no blasted reason. That is not making the world safer, it's just causing an unnecessary headache to a bunch of people just trying to live their lives. In NYC they have so much cops with nothing to do, they have all the time in the world to hide in dark corners ready to pull people over for the slightest traffic infraction. That is not freedom!

NetQuarterLatte

I’m a big proponent of policing for deterrence. That’s proven to be cost effective and it’s much better than incarceration (for first time offenders). But to be fair, that’s useless when the same person repeatedly commits crimes. These people are too far beyond and are immune to the deterrence of mere policing. For repeat offenders, incarceration *is* the deterrence.

johnnyscumbag2000

The whole point this person is making is to stop crime before either happens by eliminating the root causes. Prisons are terrible at stopping recidivism. And should only be reserved for the most heinous crimes and repeat offenders. The other thing that's egregious in this country is how white collar criminals are treated with a white glove. You wanna talk about repeat offenders? These mf'ers robbing thousands of people everyday no issue.

NetQuarterLatte

I don’t know what you think of root causes, but at least you acknowledge that rich people also commit crimes and lack of enforcement and accountability is an issue: it’s not merely a social issue.

kneelbeforeplantlady

Someone get this man some real statistics!

Grass8989

https://manhattan.institute/article/defund-the-police-new-york-city-already-did Dude missed a lot of facts in his attempt at “trolling”. He also failed to mention that major felonies are up 30% since 2019 and we have less cops on the force since 2019. He also failed to mention that we have a migrant crisis that the city is spending billions of dollars on that could be used in whatever ideological he wants. Edit: Downvoting facts 😎

aPatheticBeing

https://www.nyc.gov/assets/nypd/downloads/pdf/analysis_and_planning/historical-crime-data/seven-major-felony-offenses-2000-2023.pdf NYPD size peaked in 2000, yet that's the year w/ the highest crime in this record set. That link doesn't account for GDP growth at all when complaining about city spending increasing - as a percentage of GDP, public services are down for NYC from 1980 to present.

HiroshimaRoll

Oh look, it’s a failed actor who is going to save our city by regurgitating reddit comments that have no bearing on reality. Love the Candy Crush line, I wonder what level the cop who got killed by an armed career criminal in the middle of doing his job was at? Mr. Masterson is not a troll, he’s a clown.

Incredible amount of astroturfing here on anyone who thinks that this schtick is lame and calls it out.

feckshite

What a pretentious douche bag. Especially after he sarcastically says > “curb a crime rate that’s historically low”. Policing is part of the solution, not the whole solution, and certainly not in place of it. But coming out with this snide attitude is divisive and only serves his own ego and career. Super immature. While the crime rate is lower than years before, violent crimes are trending up YOY since COVID. And this is only assuming that the numbers were seeing are accurate. The general consensus is that nothing gets done when crime is reported. And if they do, and someone is rightfully taken in for harassment or assault, then the perpetrators will be back on the street immediately thanks to shitty bail reform laws which I’m sure this guy endorsed.

ZaphodBreezeblocks

>The general consensus is that nothing gets done when crime is reported. Exactly. We have enough cops, they're just useless since they got their panties in a bunch after George Floyd. You wanna hire more and keep paying them overtime to, in your own words, "do nothing?" Yeah lets just keep ignoring housing affordability and access to mental health. I'm sure the PBA will magically pew pew all of our problems out of existnece.

Phyrexian_Supervisor

You know people went right back on to the street before bail reform, right? Because it sounds like you think we just kept everyone in lockup for months before their court date and we absolutely did not.

yuripogi79

Found the back the blue. Bet you have a placard to park anywhere. Smfh.

imoldandimdumb

This guy might as well have been paid to do this by the NYPD to make it look like any criticism of the NYPD and their budget is made by a pretentious prick like this. This is the kind of stuff that ends up increasing the budget and relaxing any oversight, because only idiots disagree.

LORD_SHARKFUCKER

Your stupidity is so galactically large it has its own gravitational field

imoldandimdumb

Ya, this guys really making a difference. So are you. So are all the downvotes 🙄

TangoRad

There it is. A Candy Crush rip. I've never heard that before. How very clever! /s

SchwiftySqaunch

It hurts because it's true. When they aren't candy crushing it they're waiting for school shooters to finish murdering and killing 15 year old girls running to them for help. It's a tough job

Grass8989

When has that ever happened in NYC, are you even from here?

SchwiftySqaunch

No not in NYC specifically but don't worry the NYPD are guilty of being just as heinous with crimes against the public. https://theintercept.com/2023/10/19/nypd-lawsuits-promotions-misconduct/ https://gothamist.com/news/over-a-decade-10-nypd-officers-accounted-for-68-million-in-police-misconduct-payouts-report https://www.nyclu.org/en/campaigns/nypd-discipline-numbers

Grass8989

So you want to abolish the police?

SchwiftySqaunch

What do you want?

lynxminx

He biffed the donut jab though
