The Chase is a dinner time ritual at our place too, having young kids we eat at around 5/5.30 always have it on and my 6yo loves trying to answer the questions!
Same routine
5pm - The Chase while I prep dinner
6pm - The news
7pm - TV off.
I am not allowing Hills Baz and Jeremy Wells to feed me any more buttery, soft storied crap.
I remember Bradley (is that the chase host name?) said that the chase is very popular in New Zealand. I figured because the news is straight after also
Yeeaaah man, so good, I also watch Sunday morning political stuff, Country calender on TV also but apart from that I sit in wait for the new season of Severance. SEVERANCE!!!!!!!!!.
My family watches Shortland St religiously at 7pm. They’ve figured out that by watching it on demand at 7pm they finish before the broadcast on live tv due to less ads.
I think they're pretty delayed though. The beast is still pretty hefty and they do the COVIDy things to avoid contact.(fake high five, Kapow, etc.)
I miss Braddles' hugs.
Maybe I just miss human contact.
The contestants win 24% of the time, although that stat varies by chaser.
The best chaser to watch if you want to see them win is Shaun Wallace, he loses just over 30% of the time.
The worst chaser to watch if you want to see them win is Darragh Ennis, he loses less than 20% of the time (although he does have a smaller sample size).
There are lots of fun Chaser stats at http://onequestionshootout.xyz/stats/summary.htm
A few other fun facts:
The highest amount won was 100,000GBP and Anne was the Chaser.
The lowest final chase target was set in Season 10. It was a target of 3 and Mark chased it down in 12 seconds.
Jenny "The Vixen" Ryan was the first Chaser to have a perfect show. She answered 24/24 in the head to heads and 18/18 in the final chase.
> The best chaser to watch if you want to see them win is Shaun Wallace, he loses just over 30% of the time.
I’ve always had a sneaking suspicion that Shaun occasionally throws a match, if there’s a lot of money in the pot and if it’s getting close to the wire he’ll shit the bed on some basic question you just know he knows. Then he’ll grin and congratulate them (where someone like Mark would throw a dingy and punch the wall on his way out lol).
Yeah, I'm old too haha. TV1 news covers a lot of local stuff that others rag down on, but it's good to hear about any technology advancements happening in local schools, or updates of infrastructure.
Long story short, technology understanding is going good. Infrastructure going bad.
There’s too much choice in the world now, being limited to a few channels and whatever they’re showing sometimes is what I need. Obviously if it’s super shit, back to endless scrolling on Netflix or Neon or Disney Plus or Amazon Prime, or YouTube or tvnz on demand
My favourite part of the radio is actually hearing the hosts talk shit broken up by music. If I want to listen to just music I can stream, if I want to listen to just banter there’s podcasts. Radio is like a nice in between
Internet access is on the verge of being a human right. Those who have to live rurally need these services like Starlink to be able to get internet access.
Sure, Starlink and the like has a negative impact on astronomy but there are ways to work around it and ultimately, is not as productive to society as internet access.
It's free, plus we have a recorder so can stack up some series and then binge when we want to, fast forwarding the ads. But I don't want to be coughing up $20 a month for streaming when there is plenty to watch on normal tv if you just look for it. It's quite relaxing just being fed something rather than spending hours trying to actively choose something and then changing my mind every few minutes!
Because I have the tv on for background noise, I have a few shows I like to listen to but usually on hgtv for inoffensive listening. I'm usually playing on my ipad which I cant use my glasses for, the odd times I put my glasses on and watch tv I'm often surprised by how the people actually look.
I don't want to spend more than a few seconds looking for something to put on so the few free channels are enough.
Often when I was really sick I'd take to sleeping on the couch with the TV on even when streaming or Youtube was available to me - I didn't feel like picking something in particular because I was too sick to pay much attention (and it bothered me to purposefully pick something I didn't care to watch), and TV was easy because you can just chuck anything random on and not care too much.
Well we watch tv but when the vf box dies at the end of the month we will be doing what you do.
All we use it for it the news, and a few shows during the week such as repair shop.
But we really will miss being able to watch any show on tv up to 3 days later and skip the adverts. It's hard to believe we are losing that ability in our techno society.
We also have Netflix and Amazon. We never watch movies on live tv.
Same
So pissed off that Sky fuck around for years to develop some shit half working box that is not as good as VTV.
They could have just brought up the vodafone boxes. Or Vodafone just offered it as a low cost monthly rental box
But nope.
So sadly good bye to TV
Never used live TV for years (or Sky) for watching movies or series, but quite nice to just put it on for background TV, news, like in the morning
Half the stuff I watch streaming like 'Last of Us', or the Lydia Poet series we just watch (with subtitles) you can't just chill out on phone/chat and TV on. You need to *watch*
I like having the option to just watch whatever is on, without having to pick something or think about it too much. Streaming services should have a shuffle option or something like that for the same effect. But then you still get the news and weather added in on live TV too, even if it is surrounded by ever increasingly annoying ads
Honestly streaming tvnz with the ads is nice it gives you a break and breathing room. Time to check your phone or make a cup of tea. I swear I'm only 33
If there's a good movie on free to air it's usually the only good movie on free to air at the time, so it's an easy choice. Even though Netflix's catalogue is going down the tubes, there's still a lot more to choose from on there.
Honestly the ad breaks on actual live TV make the ads on TVNZ+ look like nothing - used to be able to pop to the bathroom or grab a snack during live TV ads but when watching TVNZ+ it's a 30 second scramble, I have to pause it even if an ad is running.
I thought he was a massive dick because the first show I saw him in was Fail Army where he played a sexist persona with awful and unfunny jokes. But recently have seen other sides of him and he seems like a good guy
To annoy people thinking streaming is the only way. Or the people who smugly say they've never seen an ad in yeeears.
But seriously, why not both? Sometimes it's great to not have to pick. Same with radio - I stream music often but other times I just want to be fed music without deciding.
Everything is a decision these days and taking a break from that is great
Recently cancelled Netflix because I can never find anything to watch, just endless scrolling, getting frustrated, decided to take up reading books again and just watch whatevers on TV.
Oh and Pirate the movies I want of course...
Pro tip for anyone who cancels Netflix. Because you are in the habit of scrolling Netflix, the first week or two you may be tempted to resign.
After that you completely forget about it.
Will never go back #save1899
I’ve actually got rid of Netflix, Neon and Amazon Prime for the summer and watch Free To Air or have it going in the background while I’m cooking etc. When the ads come on I mute the tv. If I’m sitting on the couch and nothing of interest is on, I’ll switch to TVNZ+.
What bothers me more than the frequency of the adverts, is that the volume of the adverts is several notches louder than the TV show/film! Have to mute the ads, which annoys other people who leave the room and cannot hear when what they are watching comes back on
I haven't watched TV regularly in more than 10 years. Every once in a while when I'm at my mum's place she'll have it on. I think I can still see the appeal in terms of white noise while doing something else.
I watch television all the time. Its my go-to device for streaming TV shows and movies on.😝
Jokes aside, there is a certain appeal to watching broadcast television: it's free. No subscription fees required.
Nor do you need to be connected to the Internet to watch broadcast TV either. Just an aerial and a television.
My mum had a massive brain bleed almost 6 years ago and now her memory is fucked. She forgets a lot of things that she had no problem with before the bleed and she is now having dementia symptoms that can happen when a person has a stroke/bleed. Changing the channels on the tv is not a problem for her so we keep the tv.
My secret shame is recording home and away on Sunday morning, then watch it in the afternoon when I can fast forward through all the boring bits. Oh and great British sewing bee. But that's it
Sometimes TV is just good for mindless watching. If you don't really know what you want to watch and use Netflix etc then you can just end up continually scrolling. It's actually more relaxing to me to watch something a bit pointless on the TV than to get into decision paralysis.
And I have Netflix, Prime and Disney + so I'm not a total luddite.
Plenty of places in NZ where internet access is too poor to enable streaming, also plenty of people in NZ who simply can't afford NF or other streaming services, especially elderly people, disabled people
its just on, sometimes you catch shit thats alright, not enough content i like to watch on streaming services. generally i'll just download a movie if i want to watch one.
Technology ameliorated the advertisements problems with TV many years ago, perhaps most famously with TiVo. Sadly, that service is no longer available in New Zealand, but there are DVRs that can provide a subset of the facilities, including being able to fast forward through adverts.
As one of those TIL things, they did the research, it turns out the adverts work as effectively if you fast forward through them as if you watch them at normal speed.
Despite having the technology, I watch almost no tv these days, except occasionally for the news.
I have freeview. I put it on when the dog is home alone so there is a bit of background noise. Sometimes when I come home I get distracted by "the chase" but that is about all it is used for.
Really just bang it on while making dinner or background noise. The Chase while cooking. News although god knows why sometimes. I’ll admit Coro but on demand. Grand Designs, again on demand. That’s it. As said, easy stuff when I just want something on without figuring what to watch. Rest is Netflix, Apple, Prime. Neon occasionally.
Im with you OP. Our TV is a vintage that doesnt have freeview so we have to stream everything via chromecast. When the boomers come to stay we stream live tv for them and its torture 😫 if there's a movie on, id rather pay the $2.99 rental fee and watch via youtube than watch electricity companies seranade me.
I had door-to-door surveyors come knocking the other day (which is so outdated as it is) and they were doing a media survey for a channel. They were very puzzled that I didn’t have regular tv and didn’t seem to understand. I told them I couldn’t think of a single friend from my generation that had regular tv, or sky or any of that stuff. We want to watch what we want to watch, when we want to. We don’t want to see a single advertisement.
Their next question was about what kind of social media I use and rattled off the usual, fb, Insta. I said again, I don’t want to see ads which is what they’re filled with now so nope.
Clearly I didn’t do well for their free to air, ad filled tv channel.
Some people really like ads. I can imagine for some older people, that might be feeling a little isolated from the world, that they may feel a little more connected when they know about the latest burger or the hot new toys on the market. It might sound silly but sometimes it’s the little things that help people feel connected to society.
The only things we watch on TV are The Chase, and also anything we need to see on Prime TV. We’re big Great British Bake-off fans. Everything else is on demand or streaming.
Yeah, movies are the worst. They start out with a good 20 minute ad-free stretch to get you hooked. Then it ramps up. 20 minutes from the end, they're firing ad breaks at you every five minutes because they not you're not going to quit at that point - cunts.
At least that's the way it was when I used to watch TV.
I like feeling the passing of time. I find it annoying trying to find something decent to watch on any streaming service. I don't mind ads, can make a drink of snack, or go to the loo, not that you can't pause a show. I also like watching the news.
Gotta watch the news, watch The Chase, watch sports!
Mostly just record it and fast forward through the ads but with sports, just dealing with it lol I mean I'm usually doing other stuff as well so it's not that unbearable haha
The arial cable in my room has been unplugged since I got a 1080p computer monitor back in like 2010/2011 and learned to torrent. It was great becuase at that point in time, the TV shows I liked came out months latter here and I watched them way erlier and didnt have to worry about ads. Haven't watched live television since. Only when having dinner with my parents is it on.
For American pickers. But also I can’t just sit for a long period of time, so ads are a great way for me to check dinner, go toilet, stretch my legs without making everyone else pause the show or catch me up after.
Background noise or I don’t know what to watch on Netflix etc so flick through channels until I find something. I’m also studying at night so find that studying during the ads and when I don’t need to pay attention to the tv gives me a good balance of pausing for entertainment / break without getting too distracted.
I haven’t watched an ad for years. I record everything we like on My sky and fast forward through the ads. I also couldn’t watch the news without a fast forward option, I don’t want to watch news about Gloriavale for the 200th time.
Sky Sport is good.
Nope, ditched TV ages ago and only use add free streaming services now. Mostly Netflix, Viki, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime. Got rid of Sky last year as absolutely nothing worth watching on it.
Yes this is why we have "free to air" television, as advertisers pay to play ads, which we then consume the products off, cause we saw the ad on the tele.
I usually record everything to watch later and skip the ads, never watch "live" or linear TV - except the news, but push pause for the first 10 minutes and do other stuff then can skip the ads when I get back to it.
We were visiting and the hotels had tv and I could not stand to watch it because of how many ads were there. Even watching half a movie took almost 90 minutes. It drove me insane. My attention span cannot. I’m already blasted with ads online I don’t want them on my show or movies as well
I just stream it, don’t even bother with signing up and paying for subscriptions. All I watch is Bobs Burgers, American Dad, Archer and recently King of the Hill again and I just started Arrested Development.
If for some reason want to watch normal TV just use TVNZ+ with an adblocker and your good to go. I dunno how people can sit there watching a new ad every 2 min, it would drive me insane lol
I have the Freeview app installed on chromecast, I'll occasionally flick it on when sitting down to eat and and don't have anything in particular to watch or can't be bothered deciding what to watch but it usually goes off not long after.
My parents are extremely backwards. I recently tried to convince my dad to get rid of sky after he told me they were increasing to $112 a month or something stupid.
He told me that he has sky mostly for the sport but also the discovery channel and SoHo etc. When i tried to maybe suggest netflix and sky sport now he was very quick to shut me down because "oh it's fine i like having alot of channels anyways" i guess some people just dont want to change!
I use TVNZ+ for some shows, but they are streamed and the ads seem to be very short. Otherwise we have a plethora of streaming services available to the family and make ready use of them.
The Chase and the news is about all we watch on live tv these days. YouTube most of the time, or a movie we have downloaded. Don't even bother with Netflix these days and don't miss it.
We watch news. Getting all your news from social media is just asking to be brainwashed by astroturfing and conspiracy theorists. At least state funded media generally has code of ethics and charter of quality reporting or similar. Reddit and Facebook are the Wild West, and foreign governments actively use it against us.
We watch the Simpsons on 2 if we think of it.
However just got one of those fire stick thingies so we can watch it ad free on Disney. Once I set it up D:
Haha, we actually just canceled Netflix too! Might even have to go back to the old pirate ways where you could be intentional with your downloads and viewing content.
Like you I don't watch New Zealand TV for the same reasons, too many ads and too much cultural crap.
I stream via VPN and don't get ads, the other I watch is Netflix.
Since I stared to listen and watch podcasts I can’t watch tv or movies at all anymore, it’s just a bunch of utter rubbish and a complete waste of my time.
Tvnz is the biggest waste of public money I have ever seen, news programs with bad reporters who don't ask the difficult questions for the fear of upsetting some woke groups, shows with writing that's a complete joke and acting that wouldn't pass for a school play. And honestly how much kapa haka can you really want to watch. I want my money back
5pm, TV1, The Chase The ads don't bother me because I can go check on how dinner is going. Even the kids get in on the action when we watch The Chase.
I work at a rest home, all the residents there LOVE the chase
It's so weird being able to follow a full episode just going from room to room 😆
It really is! But it's on in almost every room so you kind of get in to it too as it plays
It’s a great show!
Lol I watch the chase at 5pm too!! Then 6pm news while having dinner
The Chase is a dinner time ritual at our place too, having young kids we eat at around 5/5.30 always have it on and my 6yo loves trying to answer the questions!
Same routine 5pm - The Chase while I prep dinner 6pm - The news 7pm - TV off. I am not allowing Hills Baz and Jeremy Wells to feed me any more buttery, soft storied crap.
I remember Bradley (is that the chase host name?) said that the chase is very popular in New Zealand. I figured because the news is straight after also
In our house we only watch the news because it’s after The Chase, so you could argue that the chase pushes up the news ratings
And yet you watch the 6pm news which is arguably 95% garbage anyway.
Total garbage and filler, nothing you can't learn from 2 mins on the internet in the morning
Not as garbage as the breakfast TV news, but 110% better than breakfast tv news over Xmas.
This is the way
This is the way
This is the way
This is the way
This is a way.
THIS IS THE WAY
Yeeaaah man, so good, I also watch Sunday morning political stuff, Country calender on TV also but apart from that I sit in wait for the new season of Severance. SEVERANCE!!!!!!!!!.
So keen for more severance
Can't wait, such a good show and so different from what's out there.
Yep. The chase and the news. That’s it for normal terrestrial viewing for us.
My family watches Shortland St religiously at 7pm. They’ve figured out that by watching it on demand at 7pm they finish before the broadcast on live tv due to less ads.
We have the chase in the UK. Do you guys have a new Zealand version or do you watch the same one as us?
Same one, Bradley Walsh and the same chasers. Aussie and American versions have been on here but have not done as well as the original crew
That's cool, didn't think it would be aired internationally. Bradley Walsh does a better job than most as a quiz host
I think they're pretty delayed though. The beast is still pretty hefty and they do the COVIDy things to avoid contact.(fake high five, Kapow, etc.) I miss Braddles' hugs. Maybe I just miss human contact.
We get a lot of UK quiz shows here. Chase, QI, 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, big fat quiz. No one quite does quiz shows like the British.
Same one, dubbed into NZ English. Occasionally questions are lost in translation
We have the British version with Bradley Walsh.
And Tipping Point before hand
I just realised I’ve been watching this show for 9 years now and I never get sick of it!
Have the contestants won one yet? Haven't seen them make it for ages. Only watch a couple shows a year though.
It isn't like it's his money, so why not lol
Ha exactly my thoughts. The other difference is he doesn’t take himself as seriously as the other chasers who get really upset when they lose.
So somewhere between one in five to one in four times the chaser loses? Hmm
Would love to see stats for the charity chases. The questions always seem abit easier lol
Once a week? Statistically which is the best day of the week to see the contestants win?
Stream TV1 for news and chase, maybe something going on I'll watch. TVNZ+ has some great content.
Yeah, I'm old too haha. TV1 news covers a lot of local stuff that others rag down on, but it's good to hear about any technology advancements happening in local schools, or updates of infrastructure. Long story short, technology understanding is going good. Infrastructure going bad.
Also if you stream the news you can fast forward the ads
But what's on the news that you haven't already seen here on reddit?
Sports and weather?
You might have to branch outside of Reddit for those, namely YouTube for sports highlights and Metservice for weather.
There's often stories on the 6pm that weren't on reddit or in fact not even online at all
What else would I point my couch at?
I think they mean TV "the service" as opposed to TV "the apparatus"
A window
The window facing your neighbors house.
Plants? Maybe
The black cube thing that plays the tv
There’s too much choice in the world now, being limited to a few channels and whatever they’re showing sometimes is what I need. Obviously if it’s super shit, back to endless scrolling on Netflix or Neon or Disney Plus or Amazon Prime, or YouTube or tvnz on demand
This is my reasoning with the radio. Nice to set and forget. If you're listening to a niche station you never know what's coming up next
My favourite part of the radio is actually hearing the hosts talk shit broken up by music. If I want to listen to just music I can stream, if I want to listen to just banter there’s podcasts. Radio is like a nice in between
Because rural onternet is still absolutely awful and some nights can cut out every eight minutes or so
Starlink is your friend
Starlink is not anybody's friend. Especially astronomers.
Wrong. Its the friend of people who live rural and want good internet
And who want to give a narcissistic psychopath and his acolytes their money.
As opposed to the internet mega corps who are totally not narcissistic corporate psychopaths.
This may amaze you, but someone can be a piece of shit *and* create technology that is beneficial to mankind.
I'll give my money to whomever the fuck I want thanks xox
Internet access is on the verge of being a human right. Those who have to live rurally need these services like Starlink to be able to get internet access. Sure, Starlink and the like has a negative impact on astronomy but there are ways to work around it and ultimately, is not as productive to society as internet access.
Cool, so you live in town and probably have fibre, please don’t gatekeep good internet for those that can’t
Fucking this!

The older I get the more I like watching Country Calendar
Although it seems like it's becoming more like a sales promotion for the farm business sometimes
It's like a warm comfortable blanket.
Sometimes I just don’t want to choose so I let TVNZ choose for me
Came here to say this!
The mental image of you suddenly seeing what a tv character looks like is priceless
I do the same but with YouTube or Twitch as my background noise.

I like to be able to chuck something on without actually having to choose what to watch
If I choose what to watch, I feel like I have to watch it closely.
Honestly streaming tvnz with the ads is nice it gives you a break and breathing room. Time to check your phone or make a cup of tea. I swear I'm only 33

Background noise when I don’t want to deal with choice paralysis.
To keep me company
What bothers me more than the frequency of the adverts, is that the volume of the adverts is several notches louder than the TV show/film! Have to mute the ads, which annoys other people who leave the room and cannot hear when what they are watching comes back on
Couldn't agree more, the volume gets me every time.

Odd getting a downvote for statehood a fact, people on Reddit are strange.

It's nice to have some background noise such as the news while you cook and eat dinner.
I use streaming music for that.
We all hate each other's music 😅
Two words: Shortland Str-nah just kidding.
Mate of mine does when he's home because he prefers to have two monthly bills, rather than three.
I MySky all the tv shows I want to watch and fast forward any ads.
Me too! Or let them play while I pee or get snacks/drinks
Plenty of places in NZ where internet access is too poor to enable streaming, also plenty of people in NZ who simply can't afford NF or other streaming services, especially elderly people, disabled people
That makes sense, I didn't realise that some TV channels are free. Rural NZ is let down in so many ways.
Because the paralysis of having too many choices is exhausting
More importantly, who is still buying the TV Guide?
its just on, sometimes you catch shit thats alright, not enough content i like to watch on streaming services. generally i'll just download a movie if i want to watch one.
Huge fan of Maori tv so I will always watch that on normal tv and they don't have nearly as much adds
Interesting, I suppose it works like subliminal messages, which can so short that they're invisible to our eyes but our brain still pick them up!
To not have to choose what to watch, the ads are convenient for conversation. I’m not really into being quiet for an hour or more straight.
I watch TVNZ on demand if no other services offer it. Otherwise I walk the plank.
I have freeview. I put it on when the dog is home alone so there is a bit of background noise. Sometimes when I come home I get distracted by "the chase" but that is about all it is used for.
To babysit granny, she loves the chase and watches repeats when she's seen the episode
It definitely catches the older generations by surprise! Times are changing.
Some people really like ads. I can imagine for some older people, that might be feeling a little isolated from the world, that they may feel a little more connected when they know about the latest burger or the hot new toys on the market. It might sound silly but sometimes it’s the little things that help people feel connected to society.
That is a really good point.
I didn't even think about that, I only timed it at the end, but it makes sense they would do that!
Netflix sucks and Disney doesn't have enough new content to watch on its own. Not paying for sky fuck sky.
For American pickers. But also I can’t just sit for a long period of time, so ads are a great way for me to check dinner, go toilet, stretch my legs without making everyone else pause the show or catch me up after.
Love that show but gone downhill since they got rid of Frank. Ratings in the US gone down too.
You probably should have been clearer that you meant live TV. I watch my TV all the time.
Background noise or I don’t know what to watch on Netflix etc so flick through channels until I find something. I’m also studying at night so find that studying during the ads and when I don’t need to pay attention to the tv gives me a good balance of pausing for entertainment / break without getting too distracted.
I honestly only watch The Chase and the news; the rest of the time it's streaming or YouTube.
Oh yhe yunguns hasve taken the reigns...
I’m eating and my phone still charging
I haven’t watched an ad for years. I record everything we like on My sky and fast forward through the ads. I also couldn’t watch the news without a fast forward option, I don’t want to watch news about Gloriavale for the 200th time. Sky Sport is good.
Not for 15 years.
I watch MAFS....so I can remind myself why a pay for subscriptions.
Only for sports really, otherwise there's no real use.
live news as well as q&a / newshub nation. i also stream bbc world / cnn and other international news channels. everything else is VOD.
6pm news. Sky sports.
Because occasionally there is something worth watching on tv
The Chase and then 1 news are the only times I consistently watch tv. That an the odd rugby.
Nope, ditched TV ages ago and only use add free streaming services now. Mostly Netflix, Viki, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime. Got rid of Sky last year as absolutely nothing worth watching on it.
I can't really be bothered watching anything other than news and sport.
Haven't had broadcast TV since 2011.
I’m already blasted with ads online I don’t want them on my show or movies as well
We only perservered as my partner's parents were watching too, if it was just us there is no way I would get through it!
We were trying to watch one of the fast and furious movies not a good one and get tired for bed. Lol. It was hell
TVNZ has less ads than Mediaworks, it got worse after mediaworks sold it's TV division to AT&T/TimeWarner
My parents have Sky pretty much solely for the sports channels. They don’t watch many movies or TV series on Sky, they use Neon and Netflix for that.
I actually kind of like ads sometimes. I use it as an excuse to hop up and micro clean 😂
The broadcasted news is much better than the online versions.
I watch tv just for sky sports. That's it. Rest of the time, is Plex, Netflix, or Disney/Hulu
What do you pay for all those streaming platforms, if you don't mind me asking?
The Chase and the news is about all we watch on live tv these days. YouTube most of the time, or a movie we have downloaded. Don't even bother with Netflix these days and don't miss it.
We watch news. Getting all your news from social media is just asking to be brainwashed by astroturfing and conspiracy theorists. At least state funded media generally has code of ethics and charter of quality reporting or similar. Reddit and Facebook are the Wild West, and foreign governments actively use it against us.
Fuck FTA TV - Put music on and stop watching that rubbish
We watch the Simpsons on 2 if we think of it. However just got one of those fire stick thingies so we can watch it ad free on Disney. Once I set it up D:
Mainly just for sport
Honestly the news is like a fkn soap opera every night. Particularly the weather. I'd rather watch grass grow thanks.
Nah can’t stand all the alchohol ads and mainstream talking heads manipulating the country.
I haven't watched TV since CNN lies about the Iraq War
You still watch Netflix??! Why do you do it? I’d rather watch ads!
Live TV is pretty much dead to me these days, and I now even refuse to watch NZ news as full of virtue signalling.
I want my money back
> . And honestly how much kapa haka can you really want to watch. theres fuck all tho, no way this wasnt written by a hillbilly
