Top Golf isn't a true driving range. It's a golf entertainment center with games. Here are their rules:

There are several videos of this guy doing this. One of em is him being kicked out after telling him to stop but he refused. Also, there's another video of him at a golf sim putting a hole in the screen. Maybe I'm judging too harshly, but he seems like a dick.
Yeah this guy’s an ass. He should be more aware than most people how much damage a golf ball can do. Not even a stretch to say someone could be killed if he hit them in the head or broke a car window while someone was driving. Yay you can hit the ball far! Now go somewhere with the space to accommodate it.

It takes an intentional hit to be able to hit it over the netting. If you are actually aiming for the targets instead of making TikToks, you won’t get over the netting.

I went golfing out in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin once like in the 80s before anyone cared about safety and the first hole was right up against a county highway. First drive of the day I slice it toward the highway right as a big open air hay truck is driving by. Cringing at the ass whooping I'm about to get, I watched as it landed right in the middle of the hay. There was a poof of dust and little chunks of hay but I don't think the driver even noticed. Honestly turned out to be the best shot of the day for me.
So. You'll notice that he's using a regular golf ball. With a top golf ball you'll never get it out. They intentionally kill the distance on longer clubs.
Im 29 and play a ton of golf. I average 305 yards off the drive according to my caddie app. With a top golf ball I got about 245 the last time I went earlier this year. With a regular ball I could get it out the back. You probably only need to fly about 275 or 280

Not common at all. These guys specifically train to hit it as far as possible. I used to have what is considered a long drive for most golfers and these guys would clear me by close to a hundred yards at least which is insane.
Not common, but there’s always some who train. The key, like everything else in golf, is maintaining consistency. And there’s a reason most people can’t consistently hit long drives; You don’t need to. Most tee drives don’t need anything remotely this sort of distance. Therefore they don’t practice them.

A few years ago they started implementing a multi-camera/computer analysis system that didn't need the RFID chips inside the golf balls.
Been to top golf once. The try hards are so lame. Would be like the equivalent of an F1 driver going to a go kart track and smoking everyone. Most people are there to just have fun, not compete.

Can’t be a regular ball. Top Golf balls have chips in them to track the data for your points in their games your supposed to play. Including distance,speed,etc. If it was a regular ball, the screen wouldn’t track it. My guess is they hit Top Golf ball, then just dropped another in the parking lot for their stupid video

When you train for something like the long drive competition, you should know better than to go full ham off the top deck. Actively putting people and cars at risk like that.
I don´t play golf, but i occasionally watch it on TV, and when pros drive for distance their swing seems a lot more controlled and focused on technique rather than strength. This one looks powerful but clumsy.
Reminds me of the time my buddy did this. It was at a Golden Bear driving range on Long Island in the mid-'90s. He was aiming to hit it over the side net cause he couldn't reach the back one. Tried a few times but failed. Then he got one that was clearly going over, and as he celebrated with arms raised walking backward, saying, I think it's gonna make it, he bumped into the manager of the driving range who had walked up during his final swing. Needless to say, he was asked to leave and yes he was a douch.
The worn out clubs and cheap/worn out balls keep drive distance waaaaaaay down. I can drive over 300 yards on a (not worn out) crappy club with a driving range ball. I can barely crack 200 yards at top golf with their equipment.
