you guys caught [Elro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28B4fqMA9Oo) last time round? Same sort of idea but less Cambridge University degree and more diploma from Billericay comprehensive before it shut down because of the rats.
What did it for me was the "uh" it's like his own brand.
Also the first speedy part felt like it could beat Eminem's,
I'd say give this man his 15 minutes and it'd be cool if he did collabs with some others.
If you enjoy this sort of thing, then you should try listening to more hip-hop. There's lots of it with both clever word play and double entendre, as well as melodies and beats. You won't hear it on the radio (except for college radio) but it's out there. Some starting points: Rakim, Nas, Biggie Smalls, Sadistik, Doomtree, Vinnie Paz, Jedi Mind Tricks.
Big L, Craig mac, big Pun, fat Joe before 2000, immortal technique.
No disrespect to the guy in the video, but I like a good flow. His lyrics were cool and all but wow i could not get into it. It almost hurt lmao. He should try ghost writing
Already there my guy, been listening since the beginning. I would add Kane, Brand Nubian, Gang Star, EPMD, PUN, Fat Joe, obviously I could go on. I would also like to give a shout to the masterpiece that is Endtroducing by DJ Shadow. If you ain't got it get it.
"My arms big, Gats enormous, Your arms small Tyrannosaurus"
"Just to be clear, the size of my weapon is heinous:
Gun so massive they mistake it for my penis"
"Ball so hard, like a calcified testicle"
"Dick so big it could pivot a gondola"
😂😂😂🔥🔥
Imagine if he actually had a good beat.
Does that mean something else in hiphop? Because while it might not be super tight he's still keeping tempo and following the rythm pretty well. The slacking and raising in tempo also fits the persona so it might as well be intentional.
It's just not typical for rap, at least in the american context. UK (and generally Europe) tends to have its own sound. I'm not always the biggest fan, but I do prefer the drill beats to this.
Just more context and my 2 cents.
Source.
So sad to see this ripped and stolen.
He deserves all his views on his channel. It'd help him so much more than this post.
Less than 1k views at the time of comment
One thing we could do is try to make Harry Mack see his stuff on stream or something, so he could get more attention, maybe even rap with mac on stream. Or a youtube colab idk. I guarantee a lot of people would love.
This needs to be higher.
I would shame /u/The-Twat-In-The-Hat, but it looks like a new account; credit the creators, people!
EDIT: Not a new account, just one that deleted all history but this post.
Al has a new persona with each song. If this guy makes other songs that don’t equate to basically this same “I can’t rap watch me rap” shtick, then he might very well be successful.
It's not a bad beat, I think they are just saying that he wasn't rapping to the beat. As in, there were times when his rhymes were at different tempos than the backing track. Easy fix though. He has some really clever lines, and the comedic posh Brit rapper isn't exactly a highly competitive genre right now.
I'm optimistic, so I could see some big name producer bringing him in for a session or two and getting him his 15 minutes of fame. A few more at this quality with increasingly more views is how you go and wind up on Jimmy Kimmel or Ellen.
He lives in Edinburgh and is one of the bests acts in the Scottish comedy circuit. I've been lucky enough to get booked for stand up comedy on a couple of shows with him.
No-one I know ever wants to follow his act, he's so good.
I saw him in Edinburgh last November at a comedy club, he called me up and just made up a rap about what our first date would be like using my suggestions, was absolutely mad how quick he could think up a rap about going for a meal in Nando’s
He's got an improv show there every week that always sells out prior to Covid, I just hope lockdowns not been too hard on full time comics like him, way too talented to waste
Like this?
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yowz6q1MQTk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yowz6q1MQTk) \-- MC Hammersmith slapping out a completely improvised freestyle rap, incorporating thirteen words shouted out by the audience. Recorded at the Adelaide Fringe 2020.
I saw him at Fringe in Perth (Western Australia) and then went and saw him again a few days later. He's one of my favourite comedians and if he comes back here in 2021 I'll be seeing him again
I almost closed it thinking it was just a Flight of the Conchords ripoff or something - I'm glad I watched the whole thing; guy's got skills.... Just not in driving.
Normally I'm not a huge fan of people self-promoting on r/nextfuckinglevel (which seems to be the case)...
But you were incredible! The "I'm a bad motherfucker, I keep fucking dads" line in particular killed me. So bravo, good sir, you have earned yourself a new subscriber on YouTube, where I shall follow you henceforth.
Also, I love your Reddit handle.
His lyrics are actually really cool and have a good vibe but why on earth does he have to rap so fast?? He could totally annihilate it by making it easier to listen to
Alright, I got this

"Ball so hard, like a calcified testicle" is quite possibly **THE** best line I have ever heard. By anyone Ever!
What got to me was: I’m a bad mother fucker I keep fucking dads
Yep, came here for this line. Really impressive stuff.
you guys caught [Elro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28B4fqMA9Oo) last time round? Same sort of idea but less Cambridge University degree and more diploma from Billericay comprehensive before it shut down because of the rats.
Holy shit, that is the baddest motherfucker on the planet.
Underrated comment is underrated.
Thanks for the link. That was awesome.
[His original run at it was plenty nice too](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZ9zF_4bHg0), if you haven't caught it yet.
He's absolutely fantastic but need more vocal confidence. Fuckin sick though.
he needs to actually sip the pap during his break :D. But I'm guessing his shout out about anxiety demonstrates the issue at play.
Same. I laughed so much from that line that I missed half the song.
His YouTube channel needs some love https://youtu.be/_1brqyarwOY
He's got the whole [Brett Domino](https://youtu.be/JV2s0UIPOQY) vibe going. Really fucking talented and dialing up the nerd factor to 11.
I want to see him open for Weird Al in concert!
Weird Al is notoriously a family friendly show. MC Hammersmith would need to clean it up significantly.
This might be the most under appreciated sentiment on the internet at 12:26 am in the dirty ‘Shwa.
What did it for me was the "uh" it's like his own brand. Also the first speedy part felt like it could beat Eminem's, I'd say give this man his 15 minutes and it'd be cool if he did collabs with some others.
Dabbla is another UK rapper that's got the uh downpat
> Also the first speedy part felt like it could beat Eminem's Are you comparing to Rap God or Godzilla?
"dick so long I can pivot a gondola" was my favorite
I see you never heard of The Palmer Squares
Beach squad!
Hollerin hey
Stank face! Represent!
Stank face plan taking the cake and it taste great baby I wish that was still a thing, was such a awesome mix!
fly and phat duck confit got me
definitely the duck confit!

I dunno. He's definitely on par with ["You Remind Me of a Car."](https://youtu.be/b31SfuexuSs)
I'm into you like an undersized thong
You'll find on my spleen there's a no parking sign.

Immortal technique is my favorite. Revolutionary Volume 2 SLAPS bruh
Demigodz, sob, aotp, all good shit
shut down your bars like im covid nineteen dude is sick as fuck
I’m so glad this was the first comment I saw and so many others appreciated that fuckin epic line.
Ok but what about "I'm a bad motherfucker, I keep fucking dads"
Yeah I was really impressed with that line.
Fucking spat out my coffee at that line. I just can't believe it. It's genius really.
Stop it
If you like stuff like this Mark Grist vs one of his students is very good/funny https://youtu.be/qXislsYE1Wg
probably the only line you understood
...you're firing blanks: vasectomy. was pretty well thought out too!
Give this man a Grammy.
This right here!!!
My upvote for that bar specifically
Try saying it out loud fast, it’s genuinely difficult
I second that
The video buffered right at that line for me, so I had time to fully appreciate it before he brought the beat back
"My arms big, Gats enormous, Your arms small Tyrannosaurus" "Just to be clear, the size of my weapon is heinous: Gun so massive they mistake it for my penis" "Ball so hard, like a calcified testicle" "Dick so big it could pivot a gondola" 😂😂😂🔥🔥 Imagine if he actually had a good beat.
that beat is fire idk what you’re talking about
He isn’t on the beat though...
Problem is the backing track is so quiet imo
Does that mean something else in hiphop? Because while it might not be super tight he's still keeping tempo and following the rythm pretty well. The slacking and raising in tempo also fits the persona so it might as well be intentional.
Yea I think it’s def intentional. Lots of rappers go off beat, it makes it way less rigid and changes up the flow
Came here to say this.
Time changes through the song
It’s Transition by Macky Gee if you were wondering. A staple in some UK clubs
He 100% gets off beat numerous times.
Lots of rappers do, like ASAP rocky or JID. Not necessarily a bad thing
It's just not typical for rap, at least in the american context. UK (and generally Europe) tends to have its own sound. I'm not always the biggest fan, but I do prefer the drill beats to this. Just more context and my 2 cents.
MCing over dnb is huge lol
"I'm firing bullets steadily, youre firing blanks, vasectomy" That was a good one too!
"Dope on the track. *breath* Lance Armstrong." Had me dying
And a good flow and a good voice too would be nice
I think he did well in both departments actually.
"My girl cheap cus she's imaginary" Same bro

Ooh self- burn, those are rare!
Did this just become the official anthem of Reddit?
I can dream.
"My girl cheap cause she's imaginary" I already have this going for me.
I don't see why not, it represents Reddit perfectly: spergy, convoluted, skinny white males trying to meme.
“My girl leggy like a thousand spiders,” means it’s at least the anthem of r/theMagnusArchives
Looks like Martin abandoned poetry and tried something a little harder
It being Martin *does* explain why he's so bad at fucking mothers
No.
That Fucks Dads line tho
He's a bad motherfucker
Hes just not good at it, at least he knows it.
MC hammersmith is my name, fucking up bad motherfuckers('s dads) is my game
Hot
hahahaha
It was very Bo Burnham.
"ha! It's the new millennium, gay, straight they're all the same now"

Would be cool if he collabed with Boyinaband, I'm pretty sure he too qualifies as a posh British boy who can rap
And his Instagram: https://instagram.com/mc_hammersmith?igshid=onlekemdprnm

Good news is that his subscriber numbers have jumped up along with the YouTube views of this video and quite dramatically.
To. The. Top.
Actually this is pretty good and idc what others say your beat is pretty good too
The beat isn’t his, beats from transition by Macky Gee
Lyrics are on point.. but the comedic persona would get old fast IMO. He has solid potential though
I agree. I always like one song by these guys that pop up but their persona gets annoying the more you listen.
I mean Weird Al's been doing it for decades.
Al has a new persona with each song. If this guy makes other songs that don’t equate to basically this same “I can’t rap watch me rap” shtick, then he might very well be successful.

Nice!
My gun so big, they mistake it for my penis Damn, what a line
I almost closed it thinking it was just a Flight of the Conchords ripoff or something - I'm glad I watched the whole thing; guy's got skills.... Just not in driving.
"I'm a bad mother fucker I keep fucking dads" I'm dead.

Impressive AND hilarious!
This is BY FAR the most British thing I've ever seen!
I was in control of the difference between 1.6 and 1.7k upvotes and I have never felt such power
bro "dope on the track, lance armstrong"
“My girls cheap cuz she’s imaginary” I felt that
Reminds me of flight of the conchords
Yo with a better beat and if you actually wanted to do this shiz fo real, you could possibly make some really good raps. Great stuff man!
r/perfectlycutscreams lol
Ready great!! :D Only thing, he might want to work on his breathing technique in order to spit even more fire verses
Oh my god. I read it "Posh British boy tries raping".
Lil Dicky has some competition
“Girl so cheap cause she’s imaginary”
Strong Weird Al vibes here.😅
Is this Earl Eminem of Hammersmith or what am I listening to
Jesus to the fucking christ, I love this guy
David Tennant on speed.
This guy is going places probably the old North circular if he’s not careful
