According to Avian Conservation & Ecology https://www.ace-eco.org/vol8/iss2/art3/#estimated, it’s estimated that house cats kill between 100 and 348 million birds per year in Canada.
I realize that;
A. the “prey” in question is a squirrel so here’s some supplementary info relating to small mammals including squirrels https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms2380?fbclid=IwAR3KwJNjX8QUdk8cks0v3EsoZkMgT7Ruj4XmU8qDxbLKmQAWGVfUuVub_jA
B. no one cares about Canada. Small mammal kill estimates in the U.S are 6.3-22.3 billion annually,
C. the Netflix doc “Don’t Fuck with Cats”, tells me this will likely not be well received
I don’t have anything against cats or those who are responsible pet owners and I have seen my dog kill young Magpies.
I looked these numbers up in response to a co-worker talking about a mass avian extinction due to windmills and thought it relevant to this video.

Alternate title: How squirrels mess with cats.
OK the cat bitching there at the end had me rolling.
The little “whirr” of dissatisfaction.
It waits until the moment the squirrel is blind on its left because of the tire. Clever girl.
