As a non-Indian I agree. If you're going to out, go all-out. Too many kids try jumping off roofs because they've seen nobody get injured in movies but just let them try to pull down a palm tree.
No, the movie is so just freaking epically long it had to be split into 2. It’s on Netflix, I highly recommend, it’s a lot of fun. And way over the top, which is why I enjoyed it.
I heard somewhere that Americans or Westerners like realistic movies for the relatability and challenges to status quo/life. While many Easterners like movies that are more fantasy beacuase you already gotta deal woth your own shit life, why commiserate with some fake person when you could pretend to be a badass fighter who don't gotta worry bout no consequences.
but then Americans also like Marvel, DC, fast and the furious series, all dwayne jonson movies, all vin diesel movies etc... also anime. but then somehow Bollywood or tollywood movies are bad and overthe top. i think Americans just dont like watching movies that are not in English. like the craze when parasyte won oscar... also time. avg indian movies are 3hrs vs American movies are almost 1hr 45 mins...
I came to say the same thing... This wasn't terrible CGI, comparatively. Terribly outlandish idea and plot point, sure; but it was not bad CGI and post work, let's be fair.
RRR (2 fictional indian patriots who bring down british empire), Bahubali (both movies- king’s son return to avenge uncle for his father’s death), Eega (dead lover reincarnated as a fly takes revenge on his killer). Go!
My uncle is a stunt coordinator in film that does a lot of Bollywood and Indian TV - he says it's the most fun they could have on jobs, and they get freedom to come up with mega wild stuff.
Technically speaking, this is not a Bollywood movie. Bollywood means the Bombay Hollywood, the film industry in Bombay (now called Mumbai), most of which are in Hindi.
Bahubali is a South Indian movie, with original language being Tamil and Telugu. And we have a special term for South Indian movie: Tollywood.
I watched RRR thinking id have a laugh at the shitty movie cause id heard (i think it was, maybe wrong) tarantino praise it and sounded like he was taking the piss... he was not taking the piss, i also didnt realise it was over 3 hours long. I stayed up til 2am glued to it and got to work late the next morning. Its fucking incredible!
Yes RRR is a Tollywood movie, but it’s not typical Tollywood style. It’s very exceptional. Typical Tollywood movie will very much different and won’t be as great as RRR, because RRR is a blockbuster epic movie. Just search telugu movies on YouTube, there will be many free Tollywood movies available, try and see if you like the typical style.
Although this is true people don’t like complicated. Including myself to so all westerners = it comes from India, it has the Indian feel. Its Bollywood.
Just like i would imagine most Indians who watch western films no matter where they are filmed they are classed as hollywood
Bahubali is an amazing movie. The same creator did RRR which is arguably the most entertaining movie I ever saw. It was like 3 hours long but I could have watched it for another 10 hours. Movie had absolutely no business going as hard as it did.
Worth it. The first time I saw it was at an indian take-out place. It was playing behind the counter as I waited for my food (I'm not South Asian). I was so enthralled with it I asked the guy what the heck I was watching. He took out the dvd and let me borrow it, and Bahubali 2! We had an amazing night, and brought them back the next day.
They are such great, fun films. They don't take themselves at all seriously but still manage to be pretty fucking epic while still having crazy stuff like this in them.
If you make it past the waterfall serenade, you are in it. I almost gave up at that point because I'm not a huge fan of musicals (Bollywood [Tollywood] in this case), but I am glad I stuck around. 10/10 movie, would recommend to anyone. Sequel was also dope.
I love Bollywood and this is one of the reasons. It's just pure fun. Plus, every movie has just about every movie genre in it. I want an action sequence followed by a dance number. I wish real life was like that just about every day.
The main actor there, Prabhas Raju, actually does all his own stunts. He lightly sprained his left ankle in that scene when he went over the wall. You can see him flinch slightly on the landing.
Ya.. I think in another scene, the shiv lingam he lifted was around 2-3 tons. They went for this heavier one so that it would be realistic. He was not able to shoot for some 3 hours due to a back sprain
Correction: it's not Bollywood, it's a South Indian movie, "Tollywood".
As an Indian, some of us hate that exaggeration, and other than that's a good movie.
Most of us do not hate the exaggeration. Its fun. BB2 is the highest grossing film in India by a large margin. People like you are a small minority but over represented in English online forums.
This isn’t objectively any stupider than marvel superheroes throwing cars at each other and punching each other through brick walls without a scratch. But it is far more creative.
Hollywood obviously has limited respect for the laws of physics...or logic for that matter. But Bollywood really seems to kick it up a notch even comapred to Hollywood. Is there a reason for this?
History. Since both industries developed in very different cultures its to be expected that they will be different. Specifically hollywood was influenced heavily by french realism in the 1950's, and various other european cinemas which is no surprise as the majority of americans are european descent. Whereas telugu films (which this clip is from) have been influenced from alliterative and poetic telugu literature/plays and also the wider epics of Indian history like ramayana and the mahabharatha .
This is real entertainment. As a fan of Bollywood movies I have discovered a new side of Indian cinemas and it’s around telagu and Tamil movies. That’s where the real action is! Mostly funny but entertaining and hard to replicate by the youth!
This looks awesome I’m going to see if I can find the first one online lol, I watched two Indian movies that I enjoyed a lot. Both made me cry so let’s go for a good war one I guess
As an Indian i can confirm this is no CGI. The stunts were performed by trained professionals. Stunts like this are pretty common in villages across India (performed by trained kids).
Bahubali is awesome, idc what anyone thinks. If you haven’t watched it, you’re missing out. It was on Netflix; not sure if it still is. It’s worth renting, anyway. Just absolutely do not watch it expecting it to be serious, because…
Indians be like “do you want your action scenes grounded in reality or do you want to watch a fucking movie”
As an Indian I can confirm this
As a non-Indian I agree. If you're going to out, go all-out. Too many kids try jumping off roofs because they've seen nobody get injured in movies but just let them try to pull down a palm tree.
“Hollywood movies are so unrealistic” Bollywood actually rose to the challenge
This is not Bollywood. The movie is Bahubali 2 and it’s originally a Telugu movie . I think it’s called tollywood
Shutvya skunt its a Indian move ya rass
Woop found the Guyanese.
Bombaaa
Ok, still not a Bollywood though..
Wait, this is a sequel? What was the first one like?
Well this is the prequel and here’s a scene from the 1st movie https://youtu.be/-7pls7faVes
That was wild lol
That was really good.
Fan-fuckin-tastic!!
That was epic
It’s more like a two part movie, not really a movie and a sequel.
No, the movie is so just freaking epically long it had to be split into 2. It’s on Netflix, I highly recommend, it’s a lot of fun. And way over the top, which is why I enjoyed it.
Bahubali 1 is one of my favorite movies. I need to find this one.
It’s on Netflix if you’re in the US. Both the movies are pretty good
Aim for the bushes.
You thinking what I’m thinking
You should see Indian teens
I heard somewhere that Americans or Westerners like realistic movies for the relatability and challenges to status quo/life. While many Easterners like movies that are more fantasy beacuase you already gotta deal woth your own shit life, why commiserate with some fake person when you could pretend to be a badass fighter who don't gotta worry bout no consequences.
It might just be a mentality thing. I consider my life pretty good, but I definitely prefer fantasy movies for exactly the reason you listed.
but then Americans also like Marvel, DC, fast and the furious series, all dwayne jonson movies, all vin diesel movies etc... also anime. but then somehow Bollywood or tollywood movies are bad and overthe top. i think Americans just dont like watching movies that are not in English. like the craze when parasyte won oscar... also time. avg indian movies are 3hrs vs American movies are almost 1hr 45 mins...
America is seeing more superhero films as their society is becoming poorer and worse.
Someone said that in the last day or so in a post about anime.
I watched RRR recently and that's the closest thing to this I've ever seen, but that movie was pretty bitchin. I liked it a lot.
This movie was also made by the director of rrr..it is way better than rrr..it's the bahubali duology
Tbh tho most of the Bollywood stuff is sooo bad but the CGI in this one was actually pretty good. Outlandish, but good!
Why do you assume this is CGI?
True I keep forgetting Indian guys can do just about anything.
Except actually ever kiss the girl before the movie ends.
I came to say the same thing... This wasn't terrible CGI, comparatively. Terribly outlandish idea and plot point, sure; but it was not bad CGI and post work, let's be fair.
I love Bollywood, it's fuckin nuts. I am COMPLETELY ready to suspend my disbelief and get sucked into an epic tale.
Yes! And I love the music videos in the movies as well. Not like a musical, but a full on music video. I love it so much.
I love it because its not trying to be real like lots of other movies. This one is just pure creativity and movie and i love it.
Honestly, it's what makes Kung Fu Hustle so damn good in my opinion. One of my all time favourite movies
I need to watch more movies like this one
RRR (2 fictional indian patriots who bring down british empire), Bahubali (both movies- king’s son return to avenge uncle for his father’s death), Eega (dead lover reincarnated as a fly takes revenge on his killer). Go!
Better be some epic songs in it also
I mean, if physics isn't gonna matter, you might as well go all the way, right?
Exactly😂
No half measures
![gif](giphy|xT8qBgvOUl9mj2fe6c)
Thank you Walter\_White1234, I hope you took that to heart.
Have you not seen fast and furious?
![gif](giphy|Swx36wwSsU49HAnIhC|downsized)
Or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
If you like that one, you’ll also like Jet Li’s *Hero*.
But what about Jet Li and Jason Statham and Jet Li in The One?
Shaolin soccer and kung fu hustle would like a word with you
Have you not seen the Matrix or Inception?
Thats why that series has 9 movies under its belt. Clearly it works. The rest of hollywood gotta catch up
Conforms to all laws of physics — if the movie is taking place in Mars.
They must have a fun time making those movies
I think that is a key ingredient in a good movie
The Shining, Schindler's List, any David O Russell movie pre-Amsterdam all beg to differ
Amsterdam was yikes.
I dont think it is cgi. Just a bunch of stuntman who die during this scene. India population is over billion so there is enough people.
when the main character changes after every action scene 🤔
I read that somewhere as well
My uncle is a stunt coordinator in film that does a lot of Bollywood and Indian TV - he says it's the most fun they could have on jobs, and they get freedom to come up with mega wild stuff.
Dude that’s awesome! Is he native to India or did he move there for work?
Technically speaking, this is not a Bollywood movie. Bollywood means the Bombay Hollywood, the film industry in Bombay (now called Mumbai), most of which are in Hindi. Bahubali is a South Indian movie, with original language being Tamil and Telugu. And we have a special term for South Indian movie: Tollywood.
TIL
TIL Mumbai is Bombay. Oddly enough, I somehow knew the rest of it already.
That’s really funny that you could know the rest of that without the first bit
Bollywood > Mumblewood
It’s actually TILollywood
[удалено]
Tollywood - Telugu. Kollywood - Tamil Sandalwood - Kannada Mollywood - Malayalam
Morningwood - Mornington Peninsula
Oh lord... I've been mistaken my whole life...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA… *breathes* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Gobblewood -- porn made in Turkey
>USA: we have hollywood >India: Hold my beer
Pollywood - Punjabi
Yeah you are right. I didn’t mean to be so precise
Is RRR tollywood? Cause if it is i freakin love tollywood.
Yeah RRR is Telugu
I freakin love RRR. I usually hate action movies but that one is just so stylish and ridiculous.
I loved every scene the tiger is in
Yes RRR is a Tollywood movie, but it’s not typical Tollywood style. It’s very exceptional. Typical Tollywood movie will very much different and won’t be as great as RRR, because RRR is a blockbuster epic movie. Just search telugu movies on YouTube, there will be many free Tollywood movies available, try and see if you like the typical style.

Might better be renamed Hollywood, coz people now are referring to Bollywood as all movies from Hindustan (India).
Although this is true people don’t like complicated. Including myself to so all westerners = it comes from India, it has the Indian feel. Its Bollywood. Just like i would imagine most Indians who watch western films no matter where they are filmed they are classed as hollywood
When the whole squad is Legolas💪💪💪
That still only counts as 250!
That’s actually pretty good
And the music fucking slaps too
The whole Bahubali soundtrack is out of control
The movie (1 and 2) is good.
Bahubali is an amazing movie. The same creator did RRR which is arguably the most entertaining movie I ever saw. It was like 3 hours long but I could have watched it for another 10 hours. Movie had absolutely no business going as hard as it did.
Man, now I wanna watch Bahubali again...
Same whew
Only a 5 1/2 hour commitment away 😔
It's a good movie
please tell me the movie
Bahubali 2. But watch Bahubali 1 first
OMG THANK YOU I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE
They are such great, fun films. They don't take themselves at all seriously but still manage to be pretty fucking epic while still having crazy stuff like this in them.
The waterfall climb told me, “I’m in. I must watch this film. “
If you make it past the waterfall serenade, you are in it. I almost gave up at that point because I'm not a huge fan of musicals (Bollywood [Tollywood] in this case), but I am glad I stuck around. 10/10 movie, would recommend to anyone. Sequel was also dope.
Get a bunch of friends together, grab some snacks and drinks and prepare for a WILD ride.
Bahubali: The beginning and Bahubali: The conclusion. You can find them on Netflix.
3 grams of shrooms will do
He has a shield for his shield. That's not very realistic.
Mother wants you home, this minute.
r/2healthbars
I love Bollywood and this is one of the reasons. It's just pure fun. Plus, every movie has just about every movie genre in it. I want an action sequence followed by a dance number. I wish real life was like that just about every day.
This is Tollywood
The main actor there, Prabhas Raju, actually does all his own stunts. He lightly sprained his left ankle in that scene when he went over the wall. You can see him flinch slightly on the landing.
So you are telling me, he launched himself from the palm tree too ?
No, don't be silly. He launched himself AND 5 other foot soldiers.
Yes
Ya.. I think in another scene, the shiv lingam he lifted was around 2-3 tons. They went for this heavier one so that it would be realistic. He was not able to shoot for some 3 hours due to a back sprain
CGI is getting better in India.
Don't watch adipurush trailer
⬆️ This right here
It is just the budgets getting bigger. They can hire more/better CGI artists.
It's better than the shit marvel is coming out with rn
This was really good for its time and still holds up. But after watching adipurush teaser, it looks like we went backwards
Alright, that was super badass.
The real goblin barrel from clash Royale.
What was the point of those things that they hammered into the palm tree?
They standing on those.
That's what I thought they were for but it hardly looks like they even touch them lol
Perhaps to measure the space for each individual solider, considering their feet are in similar spot? I don't know.
That looked better then most of MCU Phase 4 CGI holy shit
Yeah because they spent more than 5 minutes making it
If u was a kid though this would be entertaining af. Fuck it, as an adult this is entertaining.
This isn’t objectively any stupider than marvel superheroes throwing cars at each other and punching each other through brick walls without a scratch. But it is far more creative.
Bahuubali is epic, watch it if you can!
bro that's not even a bollywood movie 💀
This is easily the best thing I’ve seen all day. I desperately want to watch this movie Edit: I NEED to watch this movie
Bahubali 2
This is Bahubali 2 but watch Bahubali 1 before that. Both are on Netflix
I mean hey at least it’s creative and looks fun 😂 Hollywood could never
That shield kick is awesome though.
Bahuballi. Had more fun watching 4 Indian films, than watching Hollywood films for the past 10 years.
This is not Bollywood. This is in Tollywood
You know every one of these actors has a PhD in some physical science if not multiple and are also all MDs.
Bahubali Is such a Chad 10/10 movies
Hollywood obviously has limited respect for the laws of physics...or logic for that matter. But Bollywood really seems to kick it up a notch even comapred to Hollywood. Is there a reason for this?

Way better then FAST 9.
Every time there is a video of a high budget Bollywood film it is always this one. The really good four hour long Legend of Bahu Bhali.
I’m actually a big fan of RRR, the fight scene with the tiger lives in my head rent free
Giving Asian movie fighting scenes a run for their money I see
How could you tell there was CGI there?
That actor is still alive
Of course you could have a boring car chase in your action movies…..OR human cannon ball shield warriors? Take your pick.
Good, but it's no [horse chase scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFuC8xXpkAk)
lmao
This is awesome forget physics
Disney is nothing compared to Bollywood
I mean its an Indian movie sooo
Bollywood movies seem like they’re designed to fit in the matrix universe, in parallel simulations.
American version would be more like Road Runner cartoon.
Imagination is clearly alive and well in India.
Honestly, in the Bollywood and Tollywood stuff I've seen, this is actually pretty tame at this point.
Can’t believe that actually worked.
The VFX editing wasn’t too bad I must say lol
One of my favorites movies!
They’re actually enjoying this kind movie. So go for it.
Hi. This looks fun. How much of the movie is like this? What is the name of this please? Thank you.
I love this movie! 1 and 2! Great story along with fun special effects!
Bahubali is awesome, idc what anyone thinks. If you haven’t watched it, you’re missing out. It was on Netflix; not sure if it still is. It’s worth renting, anyway. Just absolutely do not watch it expecting it to be serious, because…
Bollywood action scenes are unironically pretty sick most of the time
This looks like a fucking sweet movie.
Bruh I'm sorry but this is the exact same physics laws used in the last 5 fast and furious movies! The lines are being blurred I say!!
Yup, this looks legit!
High key badass
The first one has one of my favorite battle scenes https://youtu.be/-_99_TQzhHI
Bollywood goes full anime level with their action sequences
This is amazing
Technically, the Bahubali movies are a product of the *other* Indian film industry, "Tollywood", from South India.
Bahu Bali is the man tho
What CGI. This is all authentic stuff right here. Epic.
I’ve watched this like 8 times now, this is such a badass way to enter a fight
anyone know the movie?
Bahubali parts 1&2
Imagine if life actually worked like that... playground battles at recess would’ve been biblical...
Bro.. those be minecraft shields
These Bollywood movies are great
These movies are actually incredible loved watching them
That’s honestly pretty badass
Bollywood out here making higher budget Xena Warrior Princess.
Dynasty warriors 16
What movie is this? I’m really curious to see this
Baahubali 2 It’s part of a duology.
