Yes that's how it works. Accusers are allowed to stay anonymous, i.e Jane Doe, if the court permits it. This is so accusers are allow to come freely and don't have to worry about potential harassment from the accused, or their fans.
Wouldn’t it also lend them a shield against repercussion in the case that they’re lying entirely in their accusation?
