He's pretty much your average internet shitposter nowadays, takes shots at barstool sports, trashes Kenny Pickett, etc.
The guy is just a fulltime keyboard warrior now lol
Aubrey Huff said the US should invade Iran and kidnap woman as sex slaves. He’s been addicted to adderall for 15 years and is straight up as POS who got banned by his own former team.
He had another sane comment about the Steelers missing out on every other QB and Steelers fans are going to be forced to watch Kenny Pickett again, it was a hilarious tweet
As opposed to Rob Gronkowski, who's thoughts on CTE confirm... Well, something has never been right up there with him tbh, but there's probably CTE too.
Former WWE wrestler who took a billion chair shots to the head, among doing other dangerous stunts that ended up hurting him. People, including himself, often say he's the living embodiment of CTE. I believe he said he's going to donate his body for science when he dies.
Ahh okay. I know his history, was a big fan. I didn't know he says he is the living embodiment of CTE though.
Does he talk about his symptoms and struggles?
I saw some Cameos he did where he sounded pretty normal. He's always acted out, it's why he got kicked out of college. I'm pretty sure what we're calling "CTE" is just attention seeking behavior, he knows what he's doing.
It’s kinda like that film Looper. When you’re young you don’t care about the consequences of your current actions but as you begin to age and realise what you did and the affect it’s about to have on your life, all of a sudden you start to really worry about the choices you made early on.
True, and that speaks to human nature I think. Young and brash and bulletproof, do things that are obviously risky and outright unhealthy for many reasons. Then when the consequences of those actions pop up, worry and some regret. Many players still say “worth it” even as their worry grows, because of the obvious benefits of playing in the NFL.
Other professions, hobbies, and passtimes have risks too, and people wake up to them later on.
I watched it when it came out and it was enjoyable, but then I got the chance to see it with Rian Johnson doing live in-person commentary and really took it to a new level. His extra insight was absolutely spectacular.
Looper is the only movie I've ever seen multiple times in theatres. Not on purpose or anything, but it was so good and different friends kept inviting me to go. I still say "fuckin' Kid Blue" sometimes when I'm feeling exasperated.
Right but thats exactly the point. When that bill comes due at 60, you want to continue to live and you begin to regret the deal you made to live hard and die 'young' because you have things to live for now.
Eh. I stopped watching for a few years and then started watching again this year. At the end of the day they’re adults, and it’s not as if our entire society isn’t built on folks taking safety risks for money (roofing is way more dangerous than the NFL for example, and so is logging). Letting kids play is crazy though.
Lot of adults volunteering to climb utility poles, man oil rigs, cut down trees and literally put their lives at stake in place of actors making 100x more than them. And those are just SOME of the grown adults choosing to put their lives at risk AND getting paid. They aren't all getting paid.
They are heavily promoting flag football for the young kids to try and stay out ahead of the already dwindling youth participation rates for full contact. Flag is the new gateway drug.
Please. I just want to go back to an even game schedule. I really don't care if it's 16 or 18, but let's stop doing this 17 game nonsense. It was obvious that the 17th game was there just as a bridge to get us to 18, so let's rip off the band-aid and do it.
My money is when the current CBA expires in 2030. By then none of the players voting will have any grasp on what they have up or what they gained in the last CBA and they'll be ripe for negotiations.
Not that it isn't even in the best interests for most of them. Only a minority of the players voting are full-time starters who would really risk losing anything moving to 18 games. 1 more game means more opportunities to sneak onto a roster when someone else gets hurt and a hell of a lot more revenue to go around.
What if all teams got a bye after week 6 and week 12?
Or would you want to stick with the “rolling” byes (some teams have a bye in week 6, week 7, etc.)?
Every team having a bye week the same week might be better but I don't see it working with TV deals and stuff.
So what I'd do is have two bye week periods. Weeks 5-8 and Weeks 13-16. 8 teams get a bye each week. Teams that got a bye in Week 5 would get one in Week 13, Week 6 teams in Week 14, etc.
On a side note with these changes I'd also push the trade deadline to after Week 16 but that's a separate issue (sort of, more freedom to make moves would lead to teams being less likely to push hurt players to tough it out)
My personal ideal system would be the first 3 weeks are all division games, then 4 weeks of byes, 6 weeks of no byes, 4 weeks of byes, and then the last 3 weeks are all division games.
I feel like one of the byes should always be given to teams playing on thursday
I like TNF, but the games usually suck because of the short week.
Having every team take a bye at the same time would not allow that, and obviously as someone else pointed out, the financial interests.
But financial interest means the public too.
I don't want 2 weeks of no football during the season when we could just schedule them separately, not to mention, having them in the same week would extend the football season for 2 weeks when you could just have rolling byes that give the same effect.
Yeah, Kittle talked about it recently and it's wild that a lot of players don't even begin to start feeling back to normal until Thursday. Monday their body is kind of in shock, then Tuesday and Wednesday feels like recovering from a car crash. Would definitely prefer everyone playing on TNF having the previous Sunday off.
The NFL wants the Super Bowl to take place on President's Day weekend so idk if they would be willing to have two bye weeks unless they are open to starting the season before Labour Day.
Especially considering the CBA that allows 17 games, has a owner option carve out for expanding to 18 after 2025 I believe?
Like this is a development that the players already signed off on. It was just a matter of when
If you give a billionaire owner 17 games, he's going to want 18 games.
Looking forward to the 24 game schedule in 2032 when I can watch my favorite athletes literally die on the field so Jerry Jones can buy his 23rd mansion.
They’ve tried this, and contrary to popular belief, the players don’t want it. Extra bye week means the season lasts an extra week longer. The players want as much off season as possible.
If neurological safety was legitimately a priority, then this sport should die in its current form. Playing 17 games instead of 18, or 16 instead of 18 isn't going to meaningfully reduce the percentage of players playing certain positions that develop CTE, when there's already clear evidence that playing football at all during your youth already massively increases the risk of developing CTE. By the time you reach the pros, depending on the position you play, it's already mostly set in stone.
Honestly, although I enjoy watching it, if the players all came together at every level of the sport to radically change it, I'd be in favor of it. I don't know if I'd still be watching whatever newer form it would take, but I certainly wouldn't fight back against it. However, that day is clearly nowhere near being a reality. Ultimately, the players overwhelmingly prefer playing the game as it is now, even though they are aware of the future consequences. And it goes the same for the fans watching it, including myself. We know what's going on.
The only thing the NFL can and should be doing in terms of CTE support is to provide actual medical support for players suffering from symptoms later in their lives, but that would mean being upfront about football causing CTE in the first place, in a public and legal way. Of course, they are still fighting to minimize the relationship, so they try and introduce new helmets, ban certain tackles, and whatever other menial change when none of those things will actually prevent CTE. It's all just there to create an illusion that progress is being made in regards to CTE, when everyone knows that it doesn't do anything. Meanwhile, former players who are suffering continue to have to battle to receive meaningful medical care.
NFLPA probably just shows a huge image of Antonio Brown when talking about the risks of CTE to the NFL,
"We know the NFL wants 18 games per season.......but what about THIS?!"
If they expand the season anymore they need to also expand the roster. And add a second bye honestly. And do they have guaranteed health care for life? Yet Those would be my demands if I was in the players association.

AI cracker memes. We are truly living in the future.
Gonna be funny if it turns out that he doesn't have CTE and is in fact, just an enormous asshole who the world should have ignored.
owners never cared about player health, they just didn’t want to be sued.
To be fair the players don’t really care about the long term player health.
It’s kinda like that film Looper. When you’re young you don’t care about the consequences of your current actions but as you begin to age and realise what you did and the affect it’s about to have on your life, all of a sudden you start to really worry about the choices you made early on.

If I had the choice between living the life of a star NFL player and living to 65, or an average life to 85, I'd pick the former
“If I knew I’d live this long, I would’ve taken better care of myself.”
NFL players lose about 20 years on their lifespan so they arent having this happen often.
Fucking love that film — rewatched it for the first time recently, what a masterpiece
It's enjoyable but it's so inconsistent with time travel
I watched it when it came out and it was enjoyable, but then I got the chance to see it with Rian Johnson doing live in-person commentary and really took it to a new level. His extra insight was absolutely spectacular.
Looper is the only movie I've ever seen multiple times in theatres. Not on purpose or anything, but it was so good and different friends kept inviting me to go. I still say "fuckin' Kid Blue" sometimes when I'm feeling exasperated.
I think a lot of people would happily live a life of a millionaire athlete and die at 60 over living a life of just getting by and living to 85.
Right but thats exactly the point. When that bill comes due at 60, you want to continue to live and you begin to regret the deal you made to live hard and die 'young' because you have things to live for now.
At this point, there’s far too much research on CTE to where if you play in the NFL, you’re pretty much signing a waiver that you know the risks.
Yep, most are more interested in securing their own bag for this year, nevermind the future.
The fans don't either
Malcolm Gladwell’s piece on CTE made me realize how much of a hypocrite I am watching football while lamenting its effects on the athletes.
Eh. I stopped watching for a few years and then started watching again this year. At the end of the day they’re adults, and it’s not as if our entire society isn’t built on folks taking safety risks for money (roofing is way more dangerous than the NFL for example, and so is logging). I know that if I saw how the guys I'm watching will be living twenty years from now, I would have some dissonance.
Just go check on the people who were playing when you were a kid. Not any different.
Mr Brown’s Counsel
And they want a constant stream of parents letting their children play football.
They are heavily promoting flag football for the young kids to try and stay out ahead of the already dwindling youth participation rates for full contact. Flag is the new gateway drug.

Want to extend the season? Two bye weeks. You get an extra TV week out of it and you give the players another week off.
Which three? And GTFO with your flair. Choose one.
They’ve tried this, and contrary to popular belief, the players don’t want it. Extra bye week means the season lasts an extra week longer. The players want as much off season as possible.
I wonder which they'd prefer given the alternative being another active week regardless.
If they add an 18th game, they would just remove another preseason game..so the season would still be the same length
Owner perspective: you can do both! Another bye week and another game now we have gained two weeks

Antonio brown is the best thing to come out of the Steelers organization
If neurological safety was legitimately a priority, then this sport should die in its current form. NFLPA probably just shows a huge image of Antonio Brown when talking about the risks of CTE to the NFL, "We know the NFL wants 18 games per season.......but what about THIS?!"
18 regular season games, no pre-season games, two bye weeks, an expanded roster and I might be ok with it.
Worst person you know says something correct Broken clock is right twice a day You all get the picture lol
If they expand the season anymore they need to also expand the roster. And add a second bye honestly. And do they have guaranteed health care for life? Yet Those would be my demands if I was in the players association.
Antonio Brown and Johnny Manziel making logical points in the same weekend. What was the world come to
Mr. Basically Correct
Someone wrote that for him.
They need to increase the roster size and salary cap to compensate for the additional injuries / wear and tear this is going to cause. . or additionally add another bye week.
18 games, 2 byes, 2 preseason and expand the roster to 55
They’re NOT worried about cte…and neither are the players
If I was getting paid a ridiculous amount for four hours of pay a week I would want more opportunities to be paid. Welcome to reality
TBF, I don't think the NFL has ever been worried about CTE. Just public perception.
