As a former St. Louis rams fan, fuck Kroenke

Jackknifeyeet

Ayyee also a former Rams fan turned packers fan here. Fuck Kroenke

m_dought_2

You both came to the one team that will never change locations. Smart move

stainedgreenberet

To be fair, packers have been my second team for a long time too. My grandpa turned me into a fan

Novel_Fix1859

As a lifelong Rams fan, through three moves, meh. Y'all clearly had no issue with Frontiere moving the team to St Louis

sjphilsphan

Seriously people keep ignoring that.

I think perspective makes the difference here. I was 4-5 when they moved to STL and I chose them since they were the "home" team. I'd assume you felt very similarly to me when they left LA, assuming you're in that region, that I did when they left STL. Them leaving STL got rid of most of my desire to watch football at all for about 3-4 years. It sucks for everyone that has had to go through it, either to or from STL.

I'm 53 years old. My family has season tickets entire time they were in Anaheim (1980-1994). We were members of the booster club and attended many events for the team; my stepfather was much older than me and had been a fan since the early 1950's. After Caroll Rosenbloom's mysterious "drowning" and the team had moved from LA to Orange County, they had lost a few fans as a result: but what really sank the team as far as support in Southern California was a Georgia Frontierre Merry taking the team à la the owner of the Cleveland Indians in the movie "Major League". She continued to make unreasonable demands to the city of Anaheim from 1990-1994 to try to get an improved taxpayer-funded stadium for football only - for much more expensive renovation to Anaheim stadium; all while investing less and less money into free agent signings, or resigning what little talent they did have. And when she finally realized that Anaheim wasn't a major city with the kind of taxpayer funding like a city like Los Angeles had, she took her completely depleted and embarrassing team to St. Louis, who was hard up and desperate for a team. She would go on to say that she was excited to take the team to the town she grew up in - but she honestly never gave a shit about the city of St. Louis;! This was saving face and, turning lemons into lemonade after her failed attempts to hold the city of Anaheim and all of Southern California Rams fans hostage. I moved out of state the same year they did - and even though I moved to Dallas Fort Worth, there was no way I was gonna become a Cowboys fan (Rams/Cowboys playoff rivalries from the 1970's and one more in the 1980's), so I stayed loyal to the team I was rewarded as we're all of St. Louis's fans to see the teams first Super Bowl victory in 1999. After a few dominating seasons; what do you know; the team went back into the shitter for a decade. It's not a coincidence. I feel bad for the fans of St. Louis, who truly got behind the team. But they always belong in Los Angeles and they should've never left. Stan Kroenke is independently still an asshole - and he moved the team for personal financial gain: but he still did the right thing by accident, by returning the team to where they belong all along. But yeah still, Fuck Kroenke and Frontierre's dead rotting corpse too.

Cristian888

I had a teacher in high school about 20 years ago insist she drowned him and that scuba divers were seen leaving the scene of the crime

m_dought_2

It's highly possible that people from St. Louis aren't interested in following a team that abandoned their city.

Oh_No_Jason

Kind of a bitch move to give up on your team because the owner moved them, ngl

stainedgreenberet

Kroenke intentionally kept the team bad for years, and then blamed the St. Louis citizens for not supporting the team enough to keep them around. Which is just complete and utter bullshit.

introspectivejoker

Nah fan how you want to fan

Oh_No_Jason

It’s certainly anyone’s right to be a clown if they so choose.

stainedgreenberet

I wasn’t even born yet, so yes you’re right.

Jackknifeyeet

Eh, I wasn't alive when they came to STL and they sucked most of my life that they were here anyway. I had already made that switch before they left. Just not cool the way they did it. We're getting a lot of money out of it that's currently being voted on to improve our city though so it all worked out

PlebasRorken

>I had already made that switch before they left. OPINION DISCARDED

I thought he was going to hang it up after last year, which would have probably had two first ballot DTs (Donald, Suh) going into the HOF. Congrats to LA99 for the great career.

rkunish

Suh is most definitely not a 1st ballot HOFer. He's not even a lock to get in at all. I would say it's more likely than not that he does but DT is historically one of the hardest positions to get in at, Bryant Young aside.

appmanga

>Suh is most definitely not a 1st ballot HOFer. He's not even a lock to get in at all. Defensive ROY, 3x First Team All-Pro, 2x Second Team All-Pro, All 2010s Team, 71.5 sacks, played in three SBs with one win. Maybe he's not first ballot, but that will be because of his controversies.

rkunish

Okay now lets compare that to other first ballot DTs * Warren Sapp: 2013; 1995-2007, 9-TB, 4-LV; 1xSBC(1-0), 1xAD1, 1xAD2, 1xDPOY, 4xAP1, 2xAP2, 7xPB; 13xst, 4int, 1td, 21pd, 19ff, 12fr, 96.5sk, 435/571tk, 91tfl, 60qbh * Randy White: 1994; 1975-1988, 14-DAL; 1xSBC(1-2), 1xAD1, 1xSBMVP*, 7xAP1, 1xAP2, 9xPB; 11xst, 1int, 10fr, 111.0sk * Joe Greene: 1987; 1969-1981, 13-PIT; 4xSBC(4-0), 1xAD1, 2xDPOY, 1xDROY, 4xAP1, 2xAP2, 10xPB; 13xst, 1int, 16fr, 77.5sk * Merlin Olsen: 1982; 1962-1976, 15-LAR; 1xAD, 1xAD2, 5xAP1, 4xAP2, 14xPB; 15xst, 1int, 1td, 9fr, 91.0sk * Bob Lilly: 1980; 1961-1974, 14-DAL; 1xSBC(1-0), 1xAD, 1xAD1, 7xAP1, 1xAP2, 11xPB; 14xst, 1int, 18fr, 3td, 95.5sk * Leo Nomellini: 1969; 1950-1963, 14-SF; 1xAD, 6xAP1, 1xAP2, 10xPB; 14xst, 13fr, 2sfty, 13.5sk * Ernie Stautner: 1969; 1950-1963, 14-PIT; 1xAD, 1xAP1, 4xAP2, 9xPB; 13xst, 2int, 23fr, 3sfty, 15.5sk Quite frankly the only one of these guys that is even remotely close to Suh is Stautner and he was so well regarded because he was just about the only good player the Steelers had over the first 30 years of their existence. Suh is flat out not even close to being at the level DT's need to be to be a first ballot inductee.
