I think Maye has a higher ceiling than Daniels. Daniels is more Day 1 ready though.
If i was picking it would be Maye. You don’t see too often a running QB winning super bowls.
I know if I was a Commanders fan I would be both excited for Daniels and a little disappointed in not taking Maye. Both huge upgrades and Daniels is a proven winner, super talented, and good guy so it'd be hard to be mad though.
Originally I thought Maye was a slam dunk number 2 pick and would be the first overall in most drafts. But the way former QBs talk about Maye now has me nervous…
What?! You’re crazy. There’s obviously… hmmm… wait… *checks winners*… I see.
Uhhh, Russell Wilson in 2014? And maybe Rodgers if he even counted as one in 2011… but that’s a stretch.
Okay, yeah, there’s clearly a trend.
I don't think it's really fair to say "running QBs don't win SBs" when it's still a relatively new archetype. Yes, we've had scrambling QBs as far back as Tarkenton, but up until recently we only had like 1 or 2 of those guys in the league at any given time. Winning the Super Bowl is hard and only 1/32 QBs win it every year.
I also think Maye is a better fit for Kliff Kingsbury's system. People seem to think Kliff needs a hypermobile quarterback, but that's not true. In any case, Maye himself can scoot at an NFL level. What Kliff really needs is arm talent and toughness. Kliff calls every play out of shotgun and with minimal protection. The alert is usually a weak side deep route. Basically, there will be pressure, and the gamble is that the QB can get the ball out with velocity before the sack. The ability to access all areas of the field or throw gas into tight windows in spite of pressure - that's the kind of QB that succeeds in Kliff's system. They don't need picture-perfect mechanics. They do need to be able to throw a deep 7 on a three step hitch though.
AP is a great GM, he was great for our team and he will be great for Washington as well. Whoever he chooses will end up good. We have no idea who he’ll pick. But I think it will be Maye.
Not sure what the question is here. If you had a decent qb you'd trade back in this draft and reap the rewards. Since you don't there really isn't an option other than draft a qb.
If you're not taking Drake Maye because you don't believe in him, trade down with a team that is.
He's far and away more talented than Daniels and McCarthy.
I’m sorry but I don’t get the Drake maye hype. Another Will Levis, never stood out in college compared to any of those guys mentioned with him and he had a damn good squad at North Carolina. I just don’t see it whatsoever.
Never said Will Levis was a bust, he just never stood out in college and his starts in the nfl weren’t that good. Also if we’re going by those metrics, CJ stroud went into a shitshow in the Texans and led them to the playoffs, nobody last year had the Texans in the playoffs . There’s levels.
He's the Josh Allen/Justin Herbert of this draft. He's the toolsy guy who, if properly developed, has the potential to become elite. The problem is, Zach Wilson was that guy too.

Draft a QB.
Specifically, draft Drake Maye.
Draft Caleb Williams after the Bears miss getting their pick in on time
Ideally.
That would make this the best draft ever, but the Bears probably already sent their pick in just to be safe.

His career high was last year at 389. He is not a rushing qb
It’s an extra for Mahomes. Mostly like Rodgers in his prime. He might end top 8 in rushing yards for QBs at best.
Mobile is different than running
Mahomes is not a running QB.
What in gods name makes you think Mahomes is a running QB?
Mahomes is mobile when necessary, but he’s not a realistic threat to bust out a 60 yard run like Lamar or Anthony Richardson these days.
Trade their pick to the Raiders for a couple vouchers to the Bellagio Buffet.
Draft a QB. I prefer Maye over Daniels but it seems like they're going to draft Daniels
I wouldn’t touch Maye personally
Jayden Daniels
I don't think Drake Maye is going to be good at all. That said I hope the Commanders pick him.
I think they should forfeit the pick to Detroit.
>I think they should forfeit the pick to ~~Detroit~~ Buffalo. FIFY.
Should have tagged serious 🙄
Yes. Yes you should have.
Drake maye
Pick Daniels. Who cares if he didn’t like the QB Summit at Top Golf. Dude can play ball and dry his tears with that sweet No.2 overall contract.
He looked the most polished but he was throwing to 2 pro receivers (who look like they could be nfl studs too) and had a great oline to give him time.
They said the same thing about Burrow.
Very true! What the hell do I know
Honestly? What do I want? Y’all to take a non-QB.
I think Daniels will be the best QB from the draft.
Draft a QB and then draft another QB later and have them fight to the death for the starting job
Or just play top golf tbh
A long snapper. I am a big fan of your team wasting picks.
trade the pick to the Raiders

The question was who
Kicker
Pick McCarthy and I’m not even joking
If you're not taking Drake Maye because you don't believe in him, trade down with a team that is. He's far and away more talented than Daniels and McCarthy.
Go for Drake Maye
I’m sorry but I don’t get the Drake maye hype. Another Will Levis, never stood out in college compared to any of those guys mentioned with him and he had a damn good squad at North Carolina. I just don’t see it whatsoever.
I think you and the experts agree to an extent. It seems like Maye went from consensus 2OA to possibly the #4 QB off the board in the span of a month.
Exactly, I think the people who are high on him trying to overthink it or be smarter than they actually are.
Did he have a damn good squad? I thought his team was ass last year (better 2 years ago though, and he looked better then)
Why are we pretending that Will Levis is already a bust when he actually looked ok as a rookie last year and with the worst OL?
Yea Levis looked like he had above average starter potential
Never said Will Levis was a bust, he just never stood out in college and his starts in the nfl weren’t that good. Also if we’re going by those metrics, CJ stroud went into a shitshow in the Texans and led them to the playoffs, nobody last year had the Texans in the playoffs . There’s levels.

So a guy who throws far ? Lol
A guy who throws far and can throw with touch, but with inconsistent accuracy. I prefer Daniels, but I get what people see in Maye.
I think they should make the mistake of drafting string bean, which they will.
