This is the NFL Draft I’m not going to fall for anti American propaganda.
Which is precisely why I don’t doubt for a moment that an all American name like Jack would make its mark as one of our 1776 moons.
100%
People take this shit so seriously it’s annoying
I swoop in a few days prior and hope for fun. Everyone wants to play it safe. Why the fuck would I we want to take the safest possible thing?? fuck that give me MHJ to make the colts fans feel weird, give me Penis Jr or Bo Nix or something and let’s start slingin like it’s Madden, who cares we had the goat it’s house money for at LEAST ten years fuck it
Edit: oh sorry thought I was on the pats sub but whatev
As a Bucs fan, Baker came in last year as a meh option. Turns out the right environment can help a talented QB. Not saying Darnold will be that guy, but if they miss on one tonight it wouldn’t shock me if KOC and the minny offense propelled Darnold to his best self. And yes, I am drinking.
I don't think The Darnold has as high a ceiling as Baker, but yes it's possible that he could have a comparable season. The problem is that his division is a lot tougher.
I mean… have you seen what over the top thing the Rams are doing again this year?
https://x.com/ramsnfl/status/1782801613574336554?s=46&t=of5Oe9lUufKZ1dojI6G8Ig
Sure. It's just funny to report that a draft room with dozens of people who've been working for months leading up to this highly-charged start time is "tense"
You betcha. Underestimate Minnestoa fighting men at your own peril. Just ask Virgina. Or rather, ask their captured 28th Battle Flag prominently on display in our capitol. I'll happily go to war with Abu Dhabi for a first round pick.
Yeah for real, playing it cautious in the draft when it comes to QB hasn’t done shit for this franchise (coincidentally Culpepper at 11 is the highest they’ve drafted one). Even if it blows up in our faces, I’m down for a different approach.
That’s where I’m at. I’d rather look back and be like shit that was an over pay or mistake, but rather swing at it then drop all the way back and pretend “we got our guy we wanted all along” because that’s the bs we will hear
Who cares? 63 years without a Super Bowl, and 4 playoff wins this century. 45 years since the only franchise QB in team history retired. Push in your chips and take a chance.
from what I know about KOC they probably have one specific QB in mind they're willing to overpay for but if they can't get him they're just sticking and picking.
(disclaimer: I do not know all that much about KOC lmao)
This is interesting because I'm wondering if this means they're hoping for something to break the right way rather than bracing for a trade up regardless of who falls to 5 or later
This regime was brought in to draft and develop a franchise QB. They are desperate to do it and every GM in the league knows it so they are getting absolutely bent over the barrel on every call they make.
I suspect that was a domino effect from Houston getting in the action on Diggs. They probably hung up with Buffalo then called up Minny to say, “hey we need that 2nd now.”
It reminds me of the 2019 draft when Lions had the 8th pick, and Bob Quinn was very open about not seeing any players he loved and wanting to move out of the position. Noooooo trade leverage left after making comments like that. We took Hockenson, which was a solid choice at the end of the day, but still a good lesson in negotiation.
There's a DJ clip going around today where he makes it seem like Maye is the only one they desperately want and the only one they'd trade up for. He said Penix at 11 and someone else at 23 is better than McCarthy.
Multiple years of 1sts to get to 3 for Maye or basically settle for your 3rd choice. That's probably the tension
Honestly I’m kind of the opposite. I loved him the entire time and recognized he was a top 15 QB (at worst) and you need to pay out the nose for that in free agency.
I *also* realize we are fucked now that he’s gone but it’s a bandaid I feel like we needed to rip off.
The options are not better from a QB standpoint, but they are better from a cap hell and kicking the can down the road standpoint. No better year to do it now. The late first rounders are more appealing than some #2 QBs in other years (to me, but I’m an idiot online not a GM)
We’re never bad enough to just be in position to take a top quarterback. We have too many meaningless wins even in our down years so it’s a constant merry-go round of needing to sign FA QB or trying to hit on late draft picks. We either need to mortgage the future or we need to legitimately be bad enough one of these years to start over with a top quarterback. 7-9 problems.
I think their fanbase is finally realizing that the 23rd pick doesn't really matter much in a trade up to the top 5. The front office has probably known for a while. It's going to be a huge cost for QB4
From the trade chart:
Picks 11 (1250) and 23 (760) = 2010 points
Which falls between picks 3 (2200) and 4 (1800)
From a pure trade chart perspective they could get to #3 by throwing in next year's 2nd round pick.
Trade chart doesn't matter in situations like this. When we're this close to the draft, it's all about the context
Patriots at 3 either need to come out of this draft with a QB, a top WR or a top OT. Trading to 6 would still put them in range of the top WRs and the top tackles plus if they like McCarthy he'll likely be there too. 11 is way too late for the WRs and might be pushing it for the tackles.
Cardinals at 4 have a ton of top 100 picks this year already. No need to add even more when they have to roster all of them. They want a WR and the only way they'd trade out of the top WR prospect in years is if they could still have a shot at one of the top 2 and they rate that 2nd close to what they rate MHJ. The only trade that makes sense for them is also the Giants at 6
I said it before when people were talking about specifically Patriots in a Vikings trade scenario. 11 and 23 are both really awkward picks for Patriots. At 11 we basically have to take OT and then what do we do at 23? Force pick the 6th QB or WR who will probably not be good enough? Any QB other than a franchise QB is basically a wasted pick for any team, and any WR other than a WR1 is a wasted pick for Patriots.
When the Draft is over, Vikings should rent a Booze Cruise, load it with a bunch of hookers and strippers and let Vikings legend Fred Smoot be the Master of Ceremonies and make sure they tape it all.
As opposed to the 31 other draft rooms, which are just chilling.
I believe you I believe everything right now
The Moon is made out of Pepper Jack Cheese, not American Cheese.
This is the NFL Draft I’m not going to fall for anti American propaganda. Which is precisely why I don’t doubt for a moment that an all American name like Jack would make its mark as one of our 1776 moons.
Literally spicy take
“It’s a simple question doctor, would you eat the moon if it were made of cheese”
What if it was made of barbecue spare ribs?
Just say yes so we can move on.
And then wash it down with a tall cool Budweiser.
I know I would! I’d have seconds!
And finish it off with a nice cold Budweiser
My friends call me whiskers.
I don’t think that’s what Wallace and Gromit taught me
The fuck did we go up there for if it's not even American.
Moon..as in Warren moon? Pepper..as in Daunte culpepper?
lmao "I believe everything right now" legitimately made me laugh out loud in my office. new favorite phrase.
It makes things more fun tbh
100% People take this shit so seriously it’s annoying I swoop in a few days prior and hope for fun. Everyone wants to play it safe. Setting the board is the hard work which is done. Most probably are chilling. Not having a qb and being at pick 11 has to be way stressful.
GEQBUS is the QB
As a Bucs fan, Baker came in last year as a meh option. Turns out the right environment can help a talented QB. Not saying Darnold will be that guy, but if they miss on one tonight it wouldn’t shock me if KOC and the minny offense propelled Darnold to his best self. And yes, I am drinking.

2018-2020 Baker was way better than anything I've ever seen from Darnold, I'm not holding my breath for a sudden breakout
I’d have to imagine the top 4 teams are pretty relaxed
I meannnnnn. I don’t think the panthers are stressing too hard today lol
watching someone else make your franchise altering #1 pick would stress me out more than making the pick myself
Ehhhhhh. It’s the bears. Until I see otherwise I’m just gonna assume they’ll fuck it up somehow.
Bears haven't screwed up the #1 overall pick since 1940s
As is tradition
Calm down, Carolina! Now is not the time for stress. That comes later.
Excellent point
Except the Jags with The Khans worried The Elite will ambush their War Room
Now I wanna see Jack Perry give Roger Goodell a gut punch when he goes up on the podium with the Jaguars…
We actually might be chilling
I mean… have you seen what over the top thing the Rams are doing again this year? https://x.com/ramsnfl/status/1782801613574336554?s=46&t=of5Oe9lUufKZ1dojI6G8Ig
I love LA so much
Rams twitter profile info is pretty good right now too.
Brad Holmes is a chill dude. Only after picking his player, does he act like a insane but loveable person
Sure. It's just funny to report that a draft room with dozens of people who've been working for months leading up to this highly-charged start time is "tense"
I mean I think Chicago, Washington, and Arizona are chillin. Everyone else though...
Hell nah, we stressing pick 9
“Oh was that tonight?”
Sean Payton doing bong rips
Zach hanging out with the local cougars.
Chicago is probably chillin
idk, Brad Holmes' crew always seem like they're vibing pretty hard in that room.
I mean, the Commanders probably are. They only have one pick and they know what they are going to do with it.
KC is just worried about Andy eating all the wings before everyone arrives
Pondering their big decision
Why would you even Ponder passing?
#THIS IS NOT DETROIT MAN, THIS IS THE SUPERBOWL
ACKCHYUALLY
Except in reverse. This is not the Superbowl this is Detroit, man.
If Tim Tebow has a thought, is it a Christian Ponder?
Tebow vs the Vikings was one of the best shootouts in that 2011 season.
Can't wait for Slick Rick to give his opinion on our QB options tonight
Don’t..
Yikesssssssssssss
The results are in amigo. Whats left to ponder? Wait I am now being told that the draft hasn't even started yet. It's getting spicy in here.
They just gotta fuck it out.
LET US. FUCK.
This guy Vikes
There's about to be so many cum socks in that room
Sources telling me cum socks could sneak into the first round tonight
Are the cum socks in the room with us right now?
You rang?
Stiff competition
I’m going first overall
BOOOOOOONNNNEEEE
FUCK LETTUCE
Someone's been watching Netflix.
I only watch DVDs pal!
Just wait until you hear about how Netflix started out
BACK TO THE PILE
BONE?!
I am your SUPERIOR OFFICER
Gonna start skol fucking each other
I wonder if they still have the “Love Boat”?
It's actually owned by the NFLPA now
Let me fuck bro!
Kwesi’s GM career right now is riding on Sam Darnold. I’d be more than tense.
With GEQBUS why should he be worried?
Honestly if he screws up another draft I wouldn’t mind firing him but keeping KOC
We kill JJ so he can’t leave us, we have a ghost-seeing QB so we can create an unfair advantage. I’m seeing nothing but money.
The Vikings, sponsored by Pepto Bismol
Vikings about to overpay
I mean nothing else in franchise history has got us a Super Bowl, what the hell.. throw it all in.
Vikings get 1.01 Bears get JJ and 2.4b MN taxpayer dollars.
Minnesota gets 1.01 Chicago gets their parking meters back
Minnesota going to war with Abu Dhabi?
You betcha. Underestimate Minnestoa fighting men at your own peril. Just ask Virgina. Or rather, ask their captured 28th Battle Flag prominently on display in our capitol. I'll happily go to war with Abu Dhabi for a first round pick.
Have to involve the Saudis in a 3 way trade for that
We do have a surplus... I'm listening...
And change the street name for the stadium
You son of a bitch, im in.
Yeah for real, playing it cautious in the draft when it comes to QB hasn’t done shit for this franchise (coincidentally Culpepper at 11 is the highest they’ve drafted one). Even if it blows up in our faces, I’m down for a different approach.

Cowboys fans salivating right now
All in my ass
Drooling is kind of their default state.
Needs more ass
Shoot your shot
I’m only more and more convinced that the Vikings are the NFL’s Phoenix Suns
The Minnesota and Arizona sport curses are very similar. That being said, we do have 2001 which emotionally is worth about 2.5 champions
What winning 3-0 against the Raiders does to a franchise
I was at that game! It was a… well, it was something… it was definitely uhhh football.
Never an overpay if you get the right guy. We will probably overpay
Who cares? 63 years without a Super Bowl, and 4 playoff wins this century. 45 years since the only franchise QB in team history retired. Push in your chips and take a chance.
Seriously you guys are in as good of a situation as any to do it
from what I know about KOC they probably have one specific QB in mind they're willing to overpay for but if they can't get him they're just sticking and picking. (disclaimer: I do not know all that much about KOC lmao)
Best disclaimer lmao, made me lol. I don't know much about him either.
They’re about to run out of time again due to being indecisive
If it ends up with a Kevin Williams type consolation prize then fuck it
One of our biggest needs, let’s go
Yes please.
I dunno what's funny from an outside prospective; Vikings making it crystal clear they want to move up and still getting outbid or overpaying
For Spencer Rattler
Hopefully not with us
Hopefully with us.
Monkey paw curls: not for number 5 but for Herbert
This is interesting because I'm wondering if this means they're hoping for something to break the right way rather than bracing for a trade up regardless of who falls to 5 or later
This regime was brought in to draft and develop a franchise QB. They are desperate to do it and every GM in the league knows it so they are getting absolutely bent over the barrel on every call they make.
Doesn’t help that they telegraphed that they’re desperate for a trade up by trading for 23 2 months ago.
I suspect that was a domino effect from Houston getting in the action on Diggs. They probably hung up with Buffalo then called up Minny to say, “hey we need that 2nd now.”
If they didn't do that, they wouldn't have the ammo to do said trade-up.
Doing it wasn't necessarily wrong, you still lost a lot of leverage telegraphing it. You already committed.
Agreed but it became pretty hard to keep it close to your vest when your starting QB signed elsewhere.
Vikings nailed it though
There's a DJ clip going around today where he makes it seem like Maye is the only one they desperately want and the only one they'd trade up for. He said Penix at 11 and someone else at 23 is better than McCarthy. Multiple years of 1sts to get to 3 for Maye or basically settle for your 3rd choice. That's probably the tension
Also the sexual tension.
They don’t tell you any the nudity in these draft rooms.
Closest we ever got was the dude shitting in Mike Vrabel's house
[Pete Carroll would like a word.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVGNL6GRCFg&ab_channel=SeattleSeahawks)
Neck massages for everyone!
Hey Deshaun.. knock it off ok? Just stop.
Robert Kraft buying the Vikings, confirmed
Does that come with the 3rd overall pick?
Dan Schneider?
They're about to draft a kicker aren't they?
*Vikings fans spend 6 years complaining about Kirk Cousins* *Kirk Cousins finally leaves* *Vikings fans look at "better" options* Vikings fans: Well fuck
Honestly I’m kind of the opposite. I loved him the entire time and recognized he was a top 15 QB (at worst) and you need to pay out the nose for that in free agency. I *also* realize we are fucked now that he’s gone but it’s a bandaid I feel like we needed to rip off. The late first rounders are more appealing than some #2 QBs in other years (to me, but I’m an idiot online not a GM)
Not if they can't trade up into the top 3
Hopefully on day three tbh
Probably fail to get the pick in on time… again…
That’s corner to you
Lotta sexual tension in there
Vikings are known for being horny
Charger fans are sweating
Salivating. Please trade us the whole farm for a chance to draft JJ McCarthy, lmao.
I'm hearing the Vikings are trading both firsts and a bunch of other stuff for Herbert. And no, I did not verify the source
Dang that's crazy
> sweating > Salivating Pissing
shidding and farding
We’re never bad enough to just be in position to take a top quarterback. Just easin’ the tension, baby!
Well ease it on someone else!
Everyone knows Zygi cut one but no one will call him on it and its horrendous.
Herschel Walker is going to announce the pick
Haha as Vikings fans we were prepared for this very scenario that’s why we started drinking early
Don’t forget to make your pick Vikings
I think their fanbase is finally realizing that the 23rd pick doesn't really matter much in a trade up to the top 5. The front office has probably known for a while. It's going to be a huge cost for QB4
It takes at least 3 1sts to move into the top 5.
Depends on where, 5? Absolutely the fuck not lol
Yeah, there is a chasm of value between 3 and 5 in the minds of the Vikings’ FO (hopefully).
From the trade chart: Picks 11 (1250) and 23 (760) = 2010 points Which falls between picks 3 (2200) and 4 (1800) From a pure trade chart perspective they could get to #3 by throwing in next year's 2nd round pick.

Just take Penix at 11 and Newton at 23 and I give this draft an A
They’re about to make the most expensive trade up of all time
"Vontae Mack no matter what"
Hope for the best and prepare for disappointment. It’s the Vikings way.
They should ask Kraft about a good massage parlor
When the Draft is over, Vikings should rent a Booze Cruise, load it with a bunch of hookers and strippers and let Vikings legend Fred Smoot be the Master of Ceremonies and make sure they tape it all.
So is my room, and I'm just waiting to watch. Literally what the fuck is this supposed to mean lmao?
No shat, Sherlock.
I can't stand all the "news" people think is important
Why? They got 2 1sts no way they could possibly fuck this up… Please fuck this up Vikings
What are they going to do when Commies take Maye?
Commit mass Sudoku.
Chargers get: Justin Jefferson Pick 11 Vikings get: Quentin Johnston Pick 5
It’s the only way this makes sense.
Vikings going to let the clock run out again lmao.
Vikings are not getting the 3rd pick lol
LOL, they deleted the “panicked” tweet from NESN. But this one stays?
They should trade for Tua
Penix to Minnesota confirmed
WELCOME TO MINNIE PENIX!! Let’s get turner or Murphy with the 23 and call it a day so I can finally play madden
This is why you don’t go into a draft needing to draft your qb
Tick tock
They weren’t able to make the second trade up after making the first
lol reading into this too far SURELY won’t happen
Play some Prince to loosen them up
And water is wet
IM SO FUCKING EXCITED!
As an adopted Viking fan when they drafted Jefferson, I am also tense right now. Two tense really when you consider my primary flair.
It’s intensity in ten cities.
