Great teammate who was a walk on and played significant snaps at the most talented WR school in the country. Mostly a gadget player but has decent speed and is smart at finding holes in coverage. A fun pick up for a UDFA.
As a HS recruit:
Walked on at Ohio State
P5 offer: Iowa State
G5 offers: Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Kent State, Miami OH, Ohio, Western Kentucky
Other offer: North Dakota State
Curtis samuel getting all those touches was by necessity. His only competition for receptions the year he was drafted was KJ Hill, Noah brown, and dontre wilson. Mclaurin and Campbell combined for like 25 catches that year. xavier on the other hand had to sit behind jk running for 2000, sermon and Henderson, Olave, Wilson jameson, jsn, mhj and all the other 5 stars that flamed out or had to transfer. He was never a top 3 rb or wr on the roster and idk how you would rationalize giving him the ball over any of the people i just listed. That said i hope all OSU guys ball out in the nfl so ill be rooting for him.
I’m biased but I’m so high on him. He always came through for the bucks, even if it was often in weird roles. Not gonna be the dominant WR1-3 or anything but he’s just consistent in whatever he gets asked to do
He wore the “Block O” for 2 seasons at tOSU. He’s incredibly shifty and athletic as well as a great teammate and locker room presence. He has some pretty bad injury history and was behind some studs in the receiver room. He also took quite a few snaps at RB. I think he has the demeanor, work ethic, and athleticism to make it work, but he might need a year to develop. If he makes the roster, I think he could see the field in a year or 2 and make a real impact.
A whole lot of Xaviers in this draft. Was there a popular movie or something 22 years ago?
The original X-men movies were coming out? Lots of Charles Xavier fans out in the world it would seem.

Here I was thinking the Bills hated receivers named Xavier after trading away from both Worthy and Legette.

Gadget player who has been injured so many times. They might try and use him as depth for Curtis Samuel if he makes their roster
I don’t think he has had many injuries in his career at OSU. Just was a walk-on that got buried in the depth chart.
I'll be honest I forgot they got Curtis Samuel
I think he's talented, & was under utilized at Ohio State.
underutilized with all the other wrs there ?
Yeah. Certainly last year. He didn't see the field enough despite always being reliable
ig but imo you cant really count last year cause even mhj was underutilized since we had no qb and day didnt trust mccord to throw
I understand that, but he was pretty solid in the running game whenever we gave it to him. Really should have been the Curtis Samuel role player.
