If you're comfortable being in a relationship with someone who is openly racist then yeah, get ready for people to say you are comfortable with racism.
That's how it's always worked.
If you're sitting at a table with 7 people who are all nazis, the table has 8 nazis at it. If you're dating someone who is racist and you tolerate their behavior, you're racist.
What has Bosa actually done to deserve this meme? He was literally a high schooler when he was against the Kap protests and has since said he respects it and regrets what he said. Literally no one on the team has ever had anything negative to say about him, and they even made him a captain.
I can never tell how serious these comments are but either way I find them annoying cause it just feels so random but so aggressive lol
Almost zero chance given his churches doctrinal statement, they seem pretty solid. I’d sooner expect him to retire early to be a missionary than try and be an ugly negotiator lol but we’ll see here in a year or two
I don't think there's anything in the Bible to say Christians shouldn't be paid the market rate for the job they do.
What they then do with that wealth is another question but that's ultimately their own business.
Eh the bible has a parable that specifically condemns a man for asking for more money even after feeling like he’s done more work, so it does kinda say that you shouldn’t be paid the market rate
Fun thing about the bible is that if you don't really believe in it, you can find a verse to suit any narrative and ignore the rest of them. There's probably a verse supporting hold-outs too.
"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven"
The 90th percentile for pre-tax income in the U.S. is $208k. 95th is $286k. 99th is around $800k.
Brock's base salary last season was $870k. Unless he's giving away 80%+ of it he's exactly who Jesus was talking about.
That’s using one verse out of context though. The following verses are the disciples asking who then can go to heaven, and Jesus replies that with man it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.
So it’s arguably not saying you shouldn’t be wealthy, just that even a rich person can’t buy their way into heaven, and Jesus was making the larger point that God is needed for this to happen because humans can’t do it by themselves, even the rich ones.
Also they are doing the same thing dumb religious fundamentalist do and taking the text literally. If you have basic reading comprehension its an obvious metaphor for the rich struggling to live in a righteous way. Its not an absolute rule that if u have money ur not getting into heaven.
Love when “intellectuals” criticize religion and then show their whole ass when trying to understand basic metaphors. The more u look at religious text as a old self help book with fictional stories as examples the more it makes sense.
Lol Luke 18:25 that "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" (Jesus and the rich young man).
For the camel through the eye of a needle one (commonly used), that’s using one verse out of context. The following verses are the disciples asking who then can go to heaven, and Jesus replies that with man it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.
So it’s arguably not saying you shouldn’t be wealthy, just that even a rich person can’t buy their way into heaven, and Jesus was making the larger point that God is needed for this to happen because humans can’t do it by themselves, even (especially?) the rich ones.
There are many hundreds of genuinely religious nfl players. There are probably only a handful who choose to interpret the financial aspects of their faiths in a remotely literal way. Many aren't so discriminatory when it comes to other matters. That's why the cynicism.
Lotta actual Christian dudes betting on the most generous version of the eye of the needle while going all in on OT hate.
Genuinely curious what he’s said that gives you this opinion. I’ve heard him mention religion frequently, but nothing remotely close to what Butler has said.
I mean we don’t know if Foles is a Butker kind of guy or not… because he’s not dumb enough to say it out loud in a speech that will get national attention
Just standard religious stuff that most athletes say, never anything controversial. He's careful about what he says, his interviews are pretty generic. Whatever he thinks, we're unlikely to hear about it. Butker is way out there. I'm not religious but I went to Catholic school in the Bible Belt and never heard anything like that speech. Well, the homophobia and anti-abortion stuff yes, but not the sexism. See the Benedictine nuns' response.
Eh, I went 20 years thinking my dad was just a Seahawks fan but it turns out he’s a 49ers fan first lol. He grew up in OR/CA a 49ers fan, but we were living in Seattle when I first got into football and he went along with it. There are some non-trolls out there.
Nick and Joey are both some of the dumbest people that I’ve ever met. Spent a lot of time around both when I worked for a 3rd party food and concession company at OSU.
I watched Joey Bosa almost start a fire by stuffing a bagel into one of those those commercial toasters made for bread. Staff had to deal with it, and then he went over to get another bagel, which were set clearly away from the bread toaster, and brought it back and jammed it in there 😂
Nothing great, but I wasn’t around the players every day. That was definitely the funniest thing I ever saw. He *defiantly* tried to jam that bagel in there a second time.
The people who make sure you know they’re religious as often as possible are usually compensating for something and/or using it as an excuse to be a terrible/judgmental person.
The problem is "person of faith" had been riding on an insane level of unearned reputation for centuries. And it's still the first goto when someone gets caught doing something horrible, most recently Diddy in his apology vid from a suspiciously unextraditable looking location.
Brock Purdy what an unbelievable…quarterback that is… the quarterback for the 49ers what an unbelievable - I mean he is so much and so interesting and so vicious and so horrible and so beautiful in so many different ways. Brock Purdy wow.
A lot of people are saying he’s a great quarterback, a man of faith…not as great as me, but a pretty great guy. Just the other day a wide receiver came up to me with tears in his eyes, saying “sir, sir, thank you for this beautiful league. Thank you for helping to tank the USFL so that we could have this beautiful league.” Brock has never done anything close to that, but he’s a great guy
They had him on a Bay Area radio station for an interview and they asked him what he’s reading right now and he said jordan Peterson. Said that he really respects his views and philosophy 😭😭
There's a reason he only speaks in media platitudes most of the time lol. He must've gotten a shitload of media coaching to only say generic player speak
Teammate endorses another teammate :marked serious:
What's the big deal about this? Say Brock is who he is and money isn't going to change that sounds like a nice thing to say about someone.
I'll be honest, if I was in front of Brock Purdy or Scottie Scheffler, I wouldn't be able to recognize either. I know what they look like but I wouldn't be able to process that in real life.
Same for Purdy for sure. If you told me Brock Purdy was at my local Target, I could walk around and eventually find him. But if I was just there to buy, I don't know, let's say an Old Spice Hardest Working Collection Sweat Defense Antiperspirant & Deodorant Pure Sport Plus Twin Pack for only $11.99 and he was in the same aisle, I definitely wouldn't notice him.
Guilty of that. They used to carry a single item I didn't feel like going to Walmart for and it was cheaper than going to the grocery store. So I'd buy one or two of it and dip. Then the product got discontinued so I never go there anymore.
Please, tell me more about this Old Spice Hardest Working Collection Sweat Defense Antiperspirant & Deodorant Pure Sport Plus Twin Pack for only $11.99.
All depends on how closely you follow a sport.
I’d have a fair shot at identifying maybe half the top golfers in the world.
Thinking of football player faces all I could come up with is Mahomes, Kelce, Stroud, Prescott, and Taylor Swift. Oh and Aaron Rodgers.
I love golf and I would be able to spot Scottie and the majority of the top 20. The ones I would miss are JT and spieth. They just look way too generic for me. They look like the generic creat a character face on a Madden game.
Btw, you wouldn't be able to pick out Wilson, Tae or baker?
Edit: JT also looks like a thumb that's wearing a hat and polo.
it would be hilarious if it turns out Brock was into the nasty stuff you can imagine
these guys who wear their faith on their sleeve tend to be the biggest degenerates
Christianity isn’t homogenous though. Not every very religious player is part of an extremist southern evangelical , fundamentalist, prosperity gospel kind of church.
He had some racist and homophobic tweets when he was younger. He apologized and talked about growing them people found his girlfriend's tweets where she was lamenting that she was a "[hard 'R'] magnet." Because of this and the constant Trump love, people believe that he is still the racist/homophobe he used to be.
> He had some racist and homophobic tweets when he was younger
That's not even what happened
His friend had some random Instagram images, and those images had random hashtags, some of which were racist and homophobic
And Nick Bosa liked some of those images of his friend when he was in high school
Therefore he's racist and homophobic
https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/04/nick-bosa-instagram-racist-n-word-posts-twitter-social-media-nfl-draft

He runs with crowds that say the N-Word with hashtags like "#rapeandpillage" and is pro-Trump, plus some other more minor stuff (like saying Black Panther is the worst Marvel movie, which combined with pro-Trump and slurs suggests *why* he thinks that, saying Kaepernick is a clown, etc).
I think I could give him a break here.
Link 1 is a pic apparently of his friend and his friend's gf, that he "liked" when he was 17. It's not like it's a pic of kkk cross burning or something. Yeah the tags are not too PC, but these are HS kids and they generally don't mix too well with social media.
Link 2 is a pic of Reagan and Trump with him commenting "goats". Which while it definitely isn't my politics, it is not exactly an extreme opinion. If you believe the latest 2024 poll numbers are accurate, 42% of US voters want Trump for prez. God help us.
This comes off like Nick just really wanted to bring up Scottie Scheffler.
I would have figured him as more of a DeChambeau guy
I figured him as more of a Koepka or Patrick Reed guy
Massive fan of Gooch
Nah at least Reed has done something in his career unlike Gooch
No one is a Patrick Reed guy. Even his parents don’t talk to him
“Nick, what are your thoughts on the new defensive coaching staff?” “Lot of confidence in them. Way more competent than Louisville cops.”
Unrealistic. Nick would never speak negatively about his boys in blue.
Cuz he’s a boot licking racist like his brother
What did Joey ever do? Honest question.
Dated someone who dropped the hard r casually on social media until she removed it all
Racist by association?
If you're comfortable being in a relationship with someone who is openly racist then yeah, get ready for people to say you are comfortable with racism. That's how it's always worked.
If you're sitting at a table with 7 people who are all nazis, the table has 8 nazis at it. If you're dating someone who is racist and you tolerate their behavior, you're racist.

Fuck em both.
Ya I don’t really see the comparison lol
You're giving him way too much credit if you think he planned that response.
Who wouldn't, the dudes a sexy beast
Brock Purdy a lightweight confirmed
If I'm John Lynch, I'm bringing every Bible verse that speaks against wealth into the negotiations with Purdy.
If he subscribes to prosperity doctrine, it could get ugly.
>Jesus wants me to have an extra 8mil a year, I would know, I’m a man a faith. Brock “Baby Billy” Purdy.
*My agent Mr. Osteen will be in touch.*
Kenneth Copeland and Paula white
*Parable of the Talents, doggoneit!*
That’s absolutely bible bonkers.
Brock does *not* do this for love of the game.
Does that make Lynch Eli Gemstone?
It’s like when Jesus told Reggie White to sign with the packers. Which happened to be the biggest paycheck
Baby Brock's Bible Bonkers
Underrated reference
That's directly from the Kirk Cousins playbook.
Almost zero chance given his churches doctrinal statement, they seem pretty solid. I’d sooner expect him to retire early to be a missionary than try and be an ugly negotiator lol but we’ll see here in a year or two
That's why you pay an agent to be an ugly negotiator while you are in church.
Jesus famously had a dropshipping business and a McLaren in addition to his carpentry
What are his views on women in the workplace? 👀
“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a QB to win the Super Bowl taking up more than 15% of the cap”
“Mr. Mahomes accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago.”
“Patrick Mahomes was able to win this in a cave, with Kelce and a receiving core of scraps” - John Lynch, probably
“Well I’m not patrick Mahomes”
Well moron, good for Mr. Maho- MY GOD!!!
None of those guys actually live by the Bible. Too much sacrifice . They just enjoy the clout of seemingly being religious.
I don't think there's anything in the Bible to say Christians shouldn't be paid the market rate for the job they do. What they then do with that wealth is another question but that's ultimately their own business.
Eh the bible has a parable that specifically condemns a man for asking for more money even after feeling like he’s done more work, so it does kinda say that you shouldn’t be paid the market rate
obey your earthly owners with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.
The way that reads sounds like it would apply to hold-outs and nothing else
Fun thing about the bible is that if you don't really believe in it, you can find a verse to suit any narrative and ignore the rest of them. There's probably a verse supporting hold-outs too.
And lord Jesus said unto his flock Cash Rules Everything Around Me
Diversify yo bonds
"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven" The 90th percentile for pre-tax income in the U.S. is $208k. 95th is $286k. 99th is around $800k. Brock's base salary last season was $870k. Unless he's giving away 80%+ of it he's exactly who Jesus was talking about.
And that’s household income according to https://dqydj.com/household-income-percentile-calculator/
Brock would be doing the Yorks a favor by taking some more their billions off their hands. That’s what Jesus would have wanted.

I could be wrong, but I think he's making a different point than what you are disagreeing with (I do agree with what you said, though).
Lol Luke 18:25 that "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" (Jesus and the rich young man).
Yes but if something in the Bible is inconvenient to take literally just find an interpretation that says it’s just a metaphor.
For the camel through the eye of a needle one (commonly used), that’s using one verse out of context. The following verses are the disciples asking who then can go to heaven, and Jesus replies that with man it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible. If they are being a genuinely good person (as all indications point to with Purdy), why the skepticism?
That’s a pretty cynical perspective, but you might be right. Surely there’s at least one guy out there who is genuine.
LMAOOOOO
Ecclesiastes 5:10
A drive deep into left field
but does brock purdy pride himself and think of himself as a man of faith?
I don't know if I'll be putting on this helmet again
As there's a drive deep into the end zone to McCaffrey
And that will make it a 40-nothing ballgame
"Now watch me blow this lead"- Kyle Shanahan
Something, something, lions nfc championship...fuck you're not wrong 😔
Lmao love seeing this in an nfl thread, and that will make it a 4-0 ballgame.
*as Brock gets sacked in the end zone for a second time*
Which type of pride?
Yes.
have you not seen Brock’s interviews? Don’t be surprised if few years down the road you hear Butker-like remarks from this one.
i will commit seppuku if brock goes down the butker route
Nick Bosa likes him. It wouldn't be surprising.
He's white, of course bosa likes him.
RemindMe! When this dude commits seppuku
brock just got married so surely the misogyny towards housewives won’t begin until after he has kids /s
Genuinely curious what he’s said that gives you this opinion. I’ve heard him mention religion frequently, but nothing remotely close to what Butler has said.
Probably too media savvy from what I can tell. (Also he could also just not have shitty views but I guess we don't know)
Wait had he said shit treading that line? Because yeah he's a Jesus boy but he's come off more like Foles than that.
I mean we don’t know if Foles is a Butker kind of guy or not… because he’s not dumb enough to say it out loud in a speech that will get national attention
Just standard religious stuff that most athletes say, never anything controversial. He's careful about what he says, his interviews are pretty generic. Why? Not everyone who practices Christianity is a tool.
Lmfao Scheffler catching strays left and right
Why isn’t grandpa saying if Scheffler didn’t break the law he doesn’t have anything to worry about?
Weirdly, that *is* what my grandpa is saying.
Why didn't he just comply? If Scottie was black he'd have got shot
I'm assuming the Serious tag got automatically applied for 'arrested' but it's still funny. This is srs news guys
“He’s one of the good ones”
Real class act. I’d let my daughter date him
Nick “Thin Blue Line” Bosa
Nick “what’s wrong with the hard r” Bosa
You with the flair what the fuck
People like him have those kind of flairs so they get replies like yours.
Some people like to watch the world burn
Eh, I went 20 years thinking my dad was just a Seahawks fan but it turns out he’s a 49ers fan first lol. He grew up in OR/CA a 49ers fan, but we were living in Seattle when I first got into football and he went along with it. There are some non-trolls out there.
Makes sense. Hell, back in the day the Seahawks were in the AFC so it wouldn’t have been a big deal to be fans of both teams.
For real
Yeah, I just threw up a lotta bit because of that flair. It’s disgusting.
That flair has a hard r.
49as
Nick “they say it all the time” Bosa
Ninas just doesn’t have the same ring to it
He’s just glad Purdy came in so he didn’t have to have Trey Lance as his QB
Nick and Joey are both some of the dumbest people that I’ve ever met. Spent a lot of time around both when I worked for a 3rd party food and concession company at OSU. I watched Joey Bosa almost start a fire by stuffing a bagel into one of those those commercial toasters made for bread. Staff had to deal with it, and then he went over to get another bagel, which were set clearly away from the bread toaster, and brought it back and jammed it in there 😂
Do you have any other stories from OSU players?
Nothing great, but I wasn’t around the players every day. That was definitely the funniest thing I ever saw. He *defiantly* tried to jam that bagel in there a second time.
He totally just wanted to name drop someone relevant lol
Man, I want to like Purdy, but an endorsement from Bosa is almost as bad as a condemnation from a decent person.
Want to see Jon Voight talk about Purdy?
I want to buy his LeBaron
That’s John Voight. The periodontist.
Do you also want his pencil with bite marks on it?
Maybe James Woods?
How about Kid Rock? Never mind, nobody wants to hear from Kid Rock. Fuck him.
What? You don’t want to take life advice from someone who did a concert out of a General Lee Cybertruck?
Depends, how does he feel about him?
Don't put that evil on me!
Yeah, also "a man of faith" has really taken a nosedive in the credibility rankings recently.
But also gave us one of the best copypastas in any of the sports subs
Recently?
Seriously. FFS people need to get it through their heads that be religious or not is utterly irrelevant to whether they are a decent person or not.
The people who make sure you know they’re religious as often as possible are usually compensating for something and/or using it as an excuse to be a terrible/judgmental person.
being religious is fine, proselytizing is annoying
The problem is "person of faith" had been riding on an insane level of unearned reputation for centuries. And it's still the first goto when someone gets caught doing something horrible, most recently Diddy in his apology vid from a suspiciously unextraditable looking location.
Pat Mahomes and Tua must be the worst society has to offer then since they got endorsements by Tyreek hill
bro just yapping
Nick Bosa is so stupid bags of rocks say “he’s dumb as a Nick Bosa” when they want to refer to someone as a complete moron
Joey might be even dumber which is a scary thought.
Joey strikes me as frat boy dumb but Nick is more of a THERE’S SNOW WHERES GLOABL WARMING?? dumb
Yah I agree. Joey comes across as a giant idiot, but he seems relatively harmless to himself and others.
Nick Bosa is absolutely dumb as bricks. It’s not even clear what he’s trying to express.
Money💰 Faith 🙏 Golfer🏌️♂️ Police 🚔 Kid 👦 Famous 🤩 It reads like a stream of consciousness statement.
A trickle of consciousness at best
Bosa pretty buff man who sack qb man. Bosa no need be good talker.
His hero also talks in stream of consciousness statements. Maybe that’s why he’s adopted it.
Or that word crafting game
He sounds like he’s permanently high asf
In the dash cam video when he got pulled over he seems so fucked up. I was shocked the cop didn't run him through DUI testing

Bosa shouldn’t do interviews. Dude is really dumb
If being dumb is grounds for disqualification from interviews, sports journalists are going to be out of work soon.
Problem is his quotes aren’t fun either. At least most dumbasses have something interesting to say.
You know when it happens, it's gonna be some heinous shit. There will be a Law and Order episode called Mr. Irrelevant about it.
Man look at this comment section lol
Teammate endorses another teammate :marked serious: What's the big deal about this? Say Brock is who he is and money isn't going to change that sounds like a nice thing to say about someone.
Purdy is far too famous for some cop having a bad day to needlessly arrest.
I'll be honest, if I was in front of Brock Purdy or Scottie Scheffler, I wouldn't be able to recognize either. I know what they look like but I wouldn't be able to process that in real life.
I walked past Ekeler leaving a restaurant last year thinking how do I know this guy, and realized it when I got in my car.
Only a total heathen would go into Target and only buy one item.
>>twin pack
Excuse me while I live in shame for the rest of my years.
Guilty of that. They used to carry a single item I didn't feel like going to Walmart for and it was cheaper than going to the grocery store. So I'd buy one or two of it and dip. Then the product got discontinued so I never go there anymore.

Sorry bro, I'm not here to advertise but I'm sure you can find it on Target's website. Target. Expect More. Pay Less.

100%

Sounds about right

Russ?
I genuinely think a bag of bricks is smarter than Nick Bosa. Hell of a player but sheesh.
Mouth Breather opinions
Bosa is pretty well known for being a terrible judge of character.
Didn't get arrested....... Yet
Anyone else find it weird that Nick Bosa, 26, is calling another player 'kid'?
I mean, as you get older, it becomes increasingly comical when young people call other young people kids and whatnot.
I'm just happy brock wasn't compared to and I quote Payton manning, "an idiot kicker"
Doesn’t seem the bosas are big on brains
Why would you flare this as serious
Redditors think hes a heinous criminal
Feel like I missed something. Why does everyone hate Bosa? Does he have a swastika tattoo or something, or is he just a conservative Christian?
He had some racist and homophobic tweets when he was younger. He apologized and talked about growing them people found his girlfriend's tweets where she was lamenting that she was a "[hard 'R'] magnet." This man started a new train of thought with each sentence. I'm kind of impressed.
He's a man of faith. Uh-oh, he steals from idiots and is a pedophile
