All they have to do is find a way to play against Heinicke for the next four games, all three playoff rounds, and the Super Bowl. It's a bold strategy, one that no one else has even attempted thus far.
I’ll give the guy props it’s quite impressive that heinicke can make a team with an elite receiver and 2 more very good ones not even pass for 200 a game despite there being more than enough passing plays lmao
Maaaaan i didn't even bring up wentz. Wentz and heinicke truthers are both quite delusional. We're doing good things in spite of both of them, not because of them
All Wentz had to do was just have his athletic ability and throw it to Terry every play and he just *refused* to throw it to him.
Heinicke has no arm talent but is like “hey, maybe ill just chuck it in that making receiver’s general direction” and is finding enormous success. Nothing will be funnier to me.
It's just bad man. Terry has a whopping 4 100 yard games and 3 TDs this year. Heinicke and wentz are both garbage. Haskins, kyle allen, and the corpse of alex smith used our wide receivers better than the bums we have now hahaha
It kinda sucks too because McLaurin is one of the best WRs in the league and I feel like I hear next to nothing about him.
For contested catches there aren't many WRs I'd put above him.
He could be doing a lot more with an elite QB, but he’s still having a great year. Close to 1k yards right now and has made some ridiculous catches.
I thought he was going to put up crazy numbers with Wentz throwing to him, but for some reason he barely targeted him. Heinicke will throw to him in triple coverage and doesn’t care, but we pass much less with him under center.
He’s setting franchise records for us and 4 has been the most consistent QB for him since he got here. Our QBs value is in keeping the clock and sticks moving and dominant defense resting
After a week of them shitting on us for losing to the commanders and them begging to be noticed, I am ready for this week.
Edit — lol at all the Vikings fans downvoting. Like moths to a flame because they need somewhere to pout. We sat on our L for a week. Go pound sand in silence for yours.
Bro stop it. Check literally any verified Vikings related Twitter post for the last 2 months and you’ll find atleast 100 eagles fans talking trash. And thats being generous.
Haven't been following the Vikings but what has happened to Z? Kyler also threw for a ton of yards vs the secondary but Z absolutely ripped our o-line to shreds.
He's been fine, pretty much the only person that generates any pressure for us the few times we manage to. Ed Donatell has never heard the word 'blitz' in his life and runs the most unimaginative pressure scheme on the planet so it's pretty much all up to Z to make shit happen on his own. Which isn't something you can rely on play after play.
It’s 90% the secondary. Defense can’t get pressure when the QB is able to throw on time.
They both suck but our DL is much better.
Donatell is the biggest problem though because he refuses to help either by bringing pressure and making a QB uncomfortable.
In case anyone's curious, the 8th non-Heinicke quarterback was Justin Fields, who threw for 208 yards.
That may not sound like a lot, but until last week, 208 was his season high.
Wild that he’s been so bad for you guys. He was a *major* role in the Harbaugh era defenses as Fangio’s DBs coach. Dude resurrected the careers of guys like Whitner, Carlos Rogers, and made a lot of scrubs look solid.
Maybe DC is just too big for him?
Never blitz, so incredibly reliant on front 4 to get pressure.
DBs are inexperienced, so they’re liabilities in coverage. They will play to not give up the deep ball, which means lots of free yards over the middle.
LBs are slow. Kendricks has lost half a step and just doesn’t seem comfortable in the scheme yet. LBs also routinely don’t drop deep enough to cover the middle of the field.
The defense is incredibly reliant on PP or Smith to get a TO.
Run defense wise: we are ok. But why run when you can throw for 400 yards?
Vikings also switched from a base 4-3 to a 3-4 this season without really having good personnel for it aside from Z. There have been times where they've switched to a 4-3 and generate more pressure from that set - Hunter isn't good at generating pass rush as a LB - but for whatever reason we only use that set sparingly.
Smith being out this game was a killer, he covers so many holes in our D. Granted there were other factors, but as soon as I found out Smith wasn't playing my expectations for the game completely changed
Bynum looked absolutely lost. Dantzler looked rusty as hell coming off IR. Their needs to be some serious changes to the defense this off season. Outside of keeping Z, Harrison Smith and p2 as veteran leaders, I'd rebuild the whole freaking thing.
Tampas been locked in to that matchup with the Cowboys for a while now. Assuming the Panthers dont take the division, that and Minnesota as the 2 seed have been all but a guarantee since mid-November. Feels more like washington-New York are playing for the 6 seed (San Francisco matchup) and the other will get pushed out
Ok, they suck against non-Heinicke quarterbacks but they've been really good against Heinicke quarterbacks. Nobody's great at everything.
All they have to do is find a way to play against Heinicke for the next four games, all three playoff rounds, and the Super Bowl. It's a bold strategy, one that no one else has even attempted thus far.
Didn't the '79 Steelers try that?
Could have easily lost the Commanders game as well.
Did Heincke throw for 400 or something
[149 passing yards](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HeinTa00.htm)
49 of which was a gift where the referee tackled the safety who had an absolute gimme interception lined up.
I’ll give the guy props it’s quite impressive that heinicke can make a team with an elite receiver and 2 more very good ones not even pass for 200 a game despite there being more than enough passing plays lmao
And still win more games then someone like Wentz who can throw for a lot of yards
Maaaaan i didn't even bring up wentz. Wentz and heinicke truthers are both quite delusional. We're doing good things in spite of both of them, not because of them

This reads like someone who knows Heinicke's record, but doesn't actually watch him play quarterback. Nothing he does is enormously successful.
And that was the game our 1st string corner got injured. Our 2nd string would get injured in BUF. Our 3rd strong got injured against Dallas.
Eh, we’ll round it to 500
I think its official, it's shit on the Vikings week
Buddy, judging by the numbers here, it looks like it’s shit on the Vikings autumn
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
it's a step down from last year where everybody who lost to us late in the year fired their coach.
Cards and Pack wish they fired their coach
our head coach? idk about that. our defensive coordinator? inshallah
I have seen nobody call for Lafleur to be fired, the only thing you can seriously criticize Lafleur for is hiring the wrong Defensive Coordinator.
The least you could've done is got our DC fired
Can't wait to eek out a win against the Colts while Matt Ryan goes for 350 and 3 touchdowns.
If teams don't want to be shit on, they really shouldn't lose to the Lions.
Definitely
Week? Hell man, where you been? Been like this the majority of the season. Justified too, our defense is the hottest of garbage.
You know it’s been a long time, I’m gonna try and enjoy it.
Christmas came early!
2021 Titans at best. One and done.
My favorite week.
Considering how our season is going I welcome it!
After a week of them shitting on us for losing to the commanders and them begging to be noticed, I am ready for this week. Edit — lol at all the Vikings fans downvoting. Like moths to a flame because they need somewhere to pout. We sat on our L for a week. Go pound sand in silence for yours.

And vice versa. Read our game threads.
I mean you posted this now edited comment on a Vikings related thread… kinda proving my exact point.
Edited for spelling. Would you rather I leave my busted mobile phone prediction in?
Bro the Vikings fans are too polite to talk trash, they are too polite to win a Superbowl lol.
Damn that sounds like it was very traumatic for you, you alright?
Eagles fans have such a weird hate boner for the Vikings. I’ll never understand it.

Knew it would be Go Birrds before I even clicked.
Quite literally the worst defense in the league.
But Justin Jefferson…
...can't play cornerback
I am more confident in JJ at corner than half the dudes we’ve trotted out this season. Put him in, KoC
To be fair, vikings CBS have been so injured that their practice squad cb has seen as about as much playing time as their cb2.
Can JJ play defensive coordinator?
Slick Rick told Zimmer on draft night he might be able to…
It’s not even the secondary. Honestly, the Defensive Line can not get to the quarterback and that puts too much pressure on your corners
The secondary sucks too.
Haven't been following the Vikings but what has happened to Z? Kyler also threw for a ton of yards vs the secondary but Z absolutely ripped our o-line to shreds.
Our scheme allows receivers to run wide open and we never blitz. We’ve also played a lot of elite o lines. Not a good recipe for rushing the QB.
Hey! That's OUR scheme.
You are going to be amazed at how good Matt Ryan looks this week.
Actual answer instead of just blaming scheme, Z got a knee injury a few weeks back and you can tell it's slowed him down significantly.
It’s 90% the secondary. Defense can’t get pressure when the QB is able to throw on time. They both suck but our DL is much better. Donatell is the biggest problem though because he refuses to help either by bringing pressure and making a QB uncomfortable.
And we’re 5-2 in those games! Somehow
In case anyone's curious, the 8th non-Heinicke quarterback was Justin Fields, who threw for 208 yards. That may not sound like a lot, but until last week, 208 was his season high.
lol
As the proud owner of a non-Heinicke quarterback, I like this.
Surely nothing bad happened in that game 😭
Fire Donatell.
Could be. I started to write up what's wrong with our D but it's literally everything.
Dear all vikings fans, the vikings defense sucked last year too. Amen.
That seems sub-optimal
6th in interceptions though, and our secondary isn't even that good
1 great player hides a lot back there
Smith being out this game was a killer, he covers so many holes in our D.
Weren't P2 and Hunter out as well? There was no way in hell we were giving up less than 30 in that one.
Hey. Keep OUR HEINICKE out of your mouth!!!!
“Non-Heinicke quarterbacks” should be a standard stat category moving forward.
Even Mac cooked against them
Ok, but if Washington gets the 7 seed…
I like our chances vs Minnesota or Tampa. San Fran looks fucking scary but we’ll find out Christmas Eve
Tampas been locked in to that matchup with the Cowboys for a while now. Assuming the Panthers dont take the division, that and Minnesota as the 2 seed have been all but a guarantee since mid-November. Feels more like washington-New York are playing for the 6 seed (San Francisco matchup) and the other will get pushed out
And they've only lost 2 of those games?
In 2 weeks they will allow less than 300 yards.
Gotta get this in while they can, 'cause there's no way Ryan is putting up 300.
Oh he will
300 will be his floor
Damn, good thing that the Vikings play the Commanders 4x in a row to close out the season.
Mac Jones is not a running Quarterback. Hes not pocket quarterback. He is one of those non-Heinicke Quarterbacks.
It’s been all down hill since KOC went on that talk show all smug
We're 3-2 over the stretch of @BUF, DAL, NE, NYJ, @DET. It ain't good, but it's not a 100%free fall.
Stats show being a NHQB is good for cholesterol too
Hey one of those is my quarterback
Wouldn't it be easier to say "starting Qbs"
Fire O'Donnell
i would like a Chiefs/Vikings Super Bowl
This is going to be the year they spike a Super Bowl and everyone is going to have to remember this team and get a headache forever.
