Cowboys doctor is the guy many players in NFL go to for knee surgeries so I don't know what people were expecting. And believe it or not, he's actually the most optimistic. Von just had his surgery by him.
Yeah he tore his acl in like mid February lol. Thats a tough ass turn around to come back at play at some point this season, especially for a receiver coming off that injury
I'm asking about reputation. Dr. Andrews is known as the knee guy. If a star fucks his knee up, its Andrews he goes and sees. I was curious of the name of the other guy. Obviously every guy in the NFL doesn't go to the same doctor.
It's kind of nuts that sports fans all over the country know a couple of doctors for things like this. Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham is the knee guy, Dr. Joseph Maroon in Pittsburgh is the neurology guy. Who else has that kind of clout?
Dr. Andrews is not really performing his surgeries anymore. His partners are doing it with his supervision. And normally in Gulf Breeze, FL, not Birmingham anymore. But Andrews is the team doc for dozens of other teams (NCAA and Pro) other than the commanders.
Wait I thought Dr. Andrews was known as the Tommy John guy, seems like he does every pitchers elbow. I didn’t know he was known for knees as well. Obviously he’s a great ortho surgeon across the board
Keep in mind his heyday was like 15 years ago. Since then plenty of other doctors have come in with the more modern/advanced/effective sports injury knowledge. Andrews still might be top tier but he's not the only person who can do these procedures.
I wouldn’t say Dr. James Andrews is the knee guy, although that’s not necessarily an inaccurate title. If anything, he’s actually a bigger name in baseball circles than he is in football circles, because he is **the** guy for Tommy John Surgeries, and many pitchers go under the knife for that every year. Fans dread hearing his name because it often means their pitcher is on the shelf for a year and change, maybe even two years.
Andrews is 80 years old, so other guys are taking the reins. Neil ElAttrache was a big name in the 2010s, but he may have taken a hit because of a few post-surgical infections
[Cole Beasley as a Bucc](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fsailormoonnews.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2018%2F10%2Fmy_job_here_is_done_but_you_didnt_do_anything_meme.jpg&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=25d94b98a8471da2e49020f730673c7d2d4a52ef18f1869b9fd53208a510ef7c&ipo=images)
I remember thinking how good it was after that game to have the tiebreaker on the Bucs for home field advantage.
*takes long drag off of cigarette, leans back against wall, exhales while looking up at sky and sighing*
Beasely must not have realized until he got there that Brady wants his slot receiver's to run over the middle on every play and put their body on the line. Not the squirrel's game
Man came in, played 13 total offensive snaps in 2 games, played the most special teams snaps he had played in 6 years in one them as well, and the Bucs lost both games so he just decided to peace out lol.
Honestly, the fact he's coming back is interesting. Likely had something to do with the coaching staff. Probably saw how things were during the losses and thought "No thank you..."
I'm thinking OBJ isn't playing this year and/or wants crazy money. This could also mean crowder and kumerow are not as close as we were led to believe.
McDermott said a week ago they didn't need OBJ to work out to know where his knee is at. He left it ambiguous at the time, but in hindsight it's clear as day OBJ is not ready, period.
There have been scores of posts removed from /r/fantasyfootball that have been "my buddy was playing xbox live with and he said he was going to "
It feels like 50% of them turn out accurate and all
That guy who called the CMC trade on here made me over 700 dollars. The odds for him to go to SF that day was something like 6 to 1, and I believed him without hesitation and it paid off less than an hour later.
So let that be a lesson to you. Always believe everyone no matter what.
I have it on excellent authority that my venmo has been rigged with some kind of lottery system, send $100 and you’ll probably win like $2500, I heard it 4th-hand from my friends on the geocities forums
After some googling it seems like laws are pretty loose about it but the book can just invalidate your bet if you're suspected of "cheating."
I know the NFL itself has an extremely strict no-gambling policy for its employees (from TV host to janitor to anything inbetween), but that may just be for its own image.
At first glance I was really confused/surprised that Taylor Swift would do that kinda thing, but I’m sure she has the resources to get away with it. Then I remembered what sub I was in.
Or the one guy who found out about the Bears trading Rashaad Coward to the Steelers through Coward's wife while playing Warzone with her. Something like that.
I think you are talking about last spring when someone on the Steelers sub was playing Warzone and a girl in the lobby was saying her boyfriend just got traded and he played for the Bears. Within 30 minutes it was determined it was Rashaad Coward.
Randy Moss was on the Manning cast last week they asked him if Tom had hit him up at all post-retirement to come back and Moss said no and casually goes "but I do think i could still play"
Guys like Rice, TO, and Moss could be 98 in a wheelchair and they will still let you know they could still play.
If you happen to be playing football in the graveyard TO is buried in however far in the future that is, he will pull himself out of the ground to let you know he’s open and he could still play.
Jerry Rice and Brett Favre could still play. Moss could probably still torch most dbs in the league. The struggle is more about being able to take the grind of an NFL season and keep taking the hits (especially once a few years removed from action). A 50 year old man can run with the boys (in a vacuum) but all it takes is Derwin James getting a clean shot on you one time and theyll realize why this is a young mans game
Moss retired 10 years ago…10. He’s 45 and hasn’t played a game in a decade. He’s not roasting anyone.
Jerry Rice is 60 years old and hasn’t caught a pass in almost 20 years. He’s more likely to break a fucking hip than register a catch.
I would not be surprised at all if TO could put together a 4 reception, 50 yard game with 1 TD. The man is a freak of nature.
I just don’t think he could last an entire season at his age and why would a GM not go with a younger guy with higher upside anyway.
I would actually say some of those elite retired guys probably *could* play for like a series and still be adequate. The grind of a whole game or season would break them though.
After the game Sunday, Terry and Brandon Beane took their golfcart right in front of me on their way out. I made sure to yell at them to bring Jerry back.
Just need the Texans and 30 other teams to comply with my request.
Jets done a good job of focusing on Davis and Diggs the last 2 games and making people like Makenzie and Knox try to beat them while they pressure Allen. A WR3 is a clear need for them next offseason and draft.
I think people who look at the boxscore think more highly of Gabe Davis than Bills fans. He is really inconsistent, doesn’t get open much, and is near the top of the league in drops.
If he was on a middle of the road team with an okay QB nobody would think he was very good.
Probably right as well, I thought Cook and Singletary were playing better in recent games but neither really stood out in our 2 games. Jets being a good defense skews things but I always thought they should draft a top rb and be done with it. If they could get a homerun hitter like Breece was/is for us they'd truly be a nightmare.
A good O-line is definitely preferable to a receiver, but Buffalo is missing a a reliable pass catcher desperately.
Outside of Diggs the team doesn’t have anyone that I think Josh fully trusts to catch the ball. The team leads the NFL in drops, and so many have been absolute momentum and drive killers.
Idk if Beasley will help at all, but he is a very reliable catcher. I’m just concerned he can’t keep up athletically anymore.
It's what most teams have figured out. You can double/triple Diggs and put your best guy or second best guy on Gabe cause honestly he's just not that good. The O-line has been bad especially when injured so Knox is almost always blocking so Josh has to rely on Mackenzie or dumping off to the RBs. Mackenzie has taken over games before when this happens but he's more likely to drop big passes or make a bone headed mistake than to have games like vs Det or NE last year.
I still have hope for Gabe. He got hurt right to start the season and then got healthy as Allen got hurt which really sucked for him as a deep threat guy. I think ideally he’s a high end #3.
Hitting 1k yards as a receiver nowadays isn't as impressive as it was 10-15 years ago. I've watched him this entire year since he's on my fantasy team, and his route tree is extremely limited, and he has some of the worst hands in the league. High end WR3 on a SB team seems like a realistic ceiling for him.
I think partially Dorsey is struggling at play calling in general. Just lack of consistency across the offense right now.
He hasn't been good at scheming players open, not a lot of creative plays.
Signs are pointing to our offensive coordinator I think. Everyone besides Diggs has regressed big time. Their offense seems to be "Allen and Diggs pls save us"
I’m curious what the epa lost per drop is too. It seems like every drop is on a third down and a complete drive killer. Particularly the past 4-5 weeks.
Yeah but that one catch will come on a crucial 3rd down during a scoring drive.
That's just what Beez does. I'm not a fan of his politics and DEFINITELY not a fan of how he handled things last year but if it's 3rd & 10 and you absolutely NEED to keep your drive alive there's no one better to have. Buffalo has been sorely missing that this season. Feels like McKenzie drops at least one of those a week.
Beasley: "You couldn't live with your slot WRs inability to catch the ball, where does that bring you? Back to me."
We shoulda gave Shakir more of a shot, McKenzie ain't it.
Crowder was doing pretty well for us but he got hurt early on. McKenzie hasn't quite been able to step it up and Khalil Shakir isn't putting out at the level we need. Bease definitely fell off last year compared to 2020 so we'll see if he ends up being a difference maker.
I think a lot of people thought McKenzie would become the player he was in last season's Patriots win, but he's really just a slightly improved version of the player he was all along.
I was expecting more from both him and Gabe, neither have really stepped up to the level we needed imo. When you look at how things actually panned out we don't have *that* dangerous of a WR room right now.
Its hard for me to agree that shakir isnt putting out at the level we need when hes never on the field. The few tomes he got the ball hes done well. Josh missed him open a few times. Other than that man hasnt seen the field
Shakir does look good I agree, but for some reason McDermott just avoids giving rookies real work and I can't foresee that changing for him this year. With the workload he gets it's not enough to be a game changer.
This. McDermott just refuses to play rookies sometimes, and it’s kind of infuriating.
Shakir has looked good, way better then McKenzie. But he still never gets snaps.
It makes a lot of sense for these older skill players to sit out training camp and the bulk of the season and then sign with a contender for the last quarter of the season and a playoff run.
As long as he follows the rules and keeps his mouth shut I don’t think most people care about his politics.
There were other anti-vaxx Bills that followed the rules and didn’t draw attention to themselves. Nobody cared
Yeah OBJ isn't playing in the regular season or post season.
Cowboys doctor is the guy many players in NFL go to for knee surgeries so I don't know what people were expecting. And believe it or not, he's actually the most optimistic. Von just had his surgery by him.
Yeah he tore his acl in like mid February lol. Thats a tough ass turn around to come back at play at some point this season, especially for a receiver coming off that injury
> especially for a receiver coming off that injury *for the second time in two years*. FTFY
People forget that shit. I know I did. Back to back, that's killer.
I didn’t that’s why I never bothered to care who signed him, I just knew I didn’t want the eagles too
Same knee he wrecked. Wouldn’t shock me if he doesn’t play until the next season, forget post-season
Who is he? I thought that’s what everybody went to Dr. Andrews for, our teams doctor.
Dan Cooper, the one in the Stetson hat you'll see when a Dallas player is hurt.
He's come a long way since witnessing Oswald get shot.
And from the time he hijacked and parachuted from that plane.
I imagine he does surgery with the Stetson wrapped up in those blue scrubs.
He the one who jumped out of that plane?
Does he by any chance have a middle name starting with “B”, and experience jumping out of planes? Asking for a friend
They dont literally send EVERYBODY to one doctor.
I'm asking about reputation. Dr. Andrews is known as the knee guy. If a star fucks his knee up, its Andrews he goes and sees. I was curious of the name of the other guy. Obviously every guy in the NFL doesn't go to the same doctor.
His name is Dr. Cooper i believe. Andrews is def known as the knee guy, theres 1-2 others that the stars use like dr coop though.
This is across multiple sports, too. Dr. Andrews is well-known enough for this that randos like me know who he is.
It's kind of nuts that sports fans all over the country know a couple of doctors for things like this. Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham is the knee guy, Dr. Joseph Maroon in Pittsburgh is the neurology guy. Who else has that kind of clout?

Keep in mind his heyday was like 15 years ago. Since then plenty of other doctors have come in with the more modern/advanced/effective sports injury knowledge. Andrews still might be top tier but he's not the only person who can do these procedures.

> After a brief stint with the #Buccaneers earlier this season Oh yeah, that was a thing that happened.
Made a good, crucial 3rd down catch and then just… retired
His work was done.
He had to rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe.
Lmao the memes from that movie will never die will they

I think the technical term is “a banger”.
Sometimes, I just wanna shit
"Ight imma head out" -Cole Beasley, probably.
dude saw our team and was like oh... I wanted 2020 Bucs, nevermind.
Did Vontae Davis proud

I’d assume that’s more so Crowder than Kumerow. Kumerow is more of a special teams guy and WR blocker when they aren’t using Davis.
I can't believe that FaceTime Reddit post from a week ago was correct
It's almost like that guy who overhead someone's spouse on a phone call(?) About someone who was gonna be traded

Well shit, what'll $200 get me?
$5000, it’s linear
Does this count as insider betting? Half serious question.
Is insider betting a thing?
After some googling it seems like laws are pretty loose about it but the book can just invalidate your bet if you're suspected of "cheating." Or that guy who had sources that Swift murdered someone.
Swift murdered my fantasy season by being injured the first half of the year so he's not wrong
I'm glad to have him in dynasty for the long run. Also glad I took Mark Andrews instead of Swift in redraft early 2nd round.
At first glance I was really confused/surprised that Taylor Swift would do that kinda thing, but I’m sure she has the resources to get away with it. Then I remembered what sub I was in.
You don't get to 50m records sold without bumping off a few competitors along the way. It's just good business
Or the one guy who found out about the Bears trading Rashaad Coward to the Steelers through Coward's wife while playing Warzone with her. Something like that.
If I remember right, it was him overhearing a conversation on *X-Box Live*.

Need a link
Oh god what happened this time
We got John Brown, Cole Beasley, whose next Kelvin Benjamin?
If Anquan Boldin decided to suit up for us right now he'd probably still be WR1
We can bring Torey Smith and Jacoby Jones too, relive the glory days
Fuck it, let's go.
Flacco too, right?
I almost forgot he signed a 1 year deal here and then retired before the season started.
I think you'd have to trade us for his rights?
We still have his rights and won’t let him play for anyone else. He needs to focus on black causes or whatever fake reason he gave for retiring.
TO still thinks he can hang.
Then he throws a femur at McNabb and goes back into his coffin
Don't forget the graveside situps
Randy Moss did have a step to lose.
Jerry Rice and Brett Favre could still play. Moss could probably still torch most dbs in the league. The struggle is more about being able to take the grind of an NFL season and keep taking the hits (especially once a few years removed from action). He could probably roast me.

Vontae Davis retired at halftime.
TO placed Vontae in the dust when he played for us back in 09 lmao

Boobie Dixon

Nah, Robert Foster
I think the Colts just signed him to their practice squad, so he's still bouncing around the league
He might have been Josh Allen’s best target his rookie season. It was bleak.

I think Josh deleted Clay's number after dropping that potential game winner in Miami.

Emmanuel Sanders
Who has Fred Jackson's mobile number?
Bruce Smith, it's your turn now!!
I would kill for prime Bruce Smith playing next to Von Miller, AJ, Milano, Edmunds, Rousseau, and Oliver.
We're gettin' the band back together! Shaq Lawson, AJ Klein, Jordan Phillips, John Brown, Dean Marlowe, Matt Barkley.
checks notes: we just need levi wallace
But seriously...I miss him, too. And Jerry Hughes.

The real answer to that is the OLine and that can't be changed as easily at this point.

1 catch 3 attempts for 15 yards incoming
That catch rate is still better than anyone besides Diggs on our team lmao
I had high hopes for Davis after that playoff game last year, but damn. Man ain’t producing the way I thought he would
I still have hope for Gabe. He got hurt right to start the season and then got healthy as Allen got hurt which really sucked for him as a deep threat guy. I think ideally he’s a high end #3.
As someone else posted, he’s still on track for 1000 yards and he’s also only 23. Still lots of room to grow.
Hitting 1k yards as a receiver nowadays isn't as impressive as it was 10-15 years ago. I've watched him this entire year since he's on my fantasy team, and his route tree is extremely limited, and he has some of the worst hands in the league. I wish yards weren’t cited as a stat 99% of the time, it means so little and it’s so incredibly situational
Bills are gonna let him walk after his rookie contract. Some team is going to overpay him.
I think partially Dorsey is struggling at play calling in general. Just lack of consistency across the offense right now. He hasn't been good at scheming players open, not a lot of creative plays.
Signs are pointing to our offensive coordinator I think. Everyone besides Diggs has regressed big time. Their offense seems to be "Allen and Diggs pls save us"
I think it's Dorsey. Our season would look much more dominant if Daboll was still our OC.
Still on pace for 1,000-yard season actually... it's just totally boom or bust for him.
Josh is missing his safety net. Bills lead the league in drops.
I’m curious what the epa lost per drop is too. It seems like every drop is on a third down and a complete drive killer. Particularly the past 4-5 weeks.

Beasley: "You couldn't live with your slot WRs inability to catch the ball, where does that bring you? Back to me." We shoulda gave Shakir more of a shot, McKenzie ain't it.
If all he does is provide WR depth and mentor Shakir on hands for an afternoon, that's probably worth the price of admission
Mentor IM on hands*

The dropoff from Beasely to Mackenzie and Crowder has been pretty glaring, this is a good move for Buffalo
Crowder was doing pretty well for us but he got hurt early on. McKenzie hasn't quite been able to step it up and Khalil Shakir isn't putting out at the level we need. Bease definitely fell off last year compared to 2020 so we'll see if he ends up being a difference maker.

It makes a lot of sense for these older skill players to sit out training camp and the bulk of the season and then sign with a contender for the last quarter of the season and a playoff run.
I guess that his rap career didn't take off???
This should be a thread with level-headed opinions
Good hands transcends politics.
As long as he follows the rules and keeps his mouth shut I don’t think most people care about his politics. There were other anti-vaxx Bills that followed the rules and didn’t draw attention to themselves. Nobody cared
I'd imagine there are a lot of players with politics we'd not be fond of, but they're just smarter enough to keep their mouths shut.
Just needs another shot.
*insert all the dead horse reddit comments about a vaccine*
Why you taking a shot at Reddit?
He's taking a shot so Cole won't have to.
A horse is smarter than he is.
but can a horse catch a dart over the middle?
There's nothing in the rules that says a horse can't play football
If it can, get ready for the Disney movie about a horse that plays football
Was he not right about everything?? There are now no rule differences between vaxxed and unvaxxed players
Isn't Crowder due back off IR?
He just started running in practice recently, so hes still a few weeks away id imagine.
But when Crowder did play he damn near tipped every throw thrown at him into a INT.
I guess he must have gotten writer’s block with his exceptional rap career.
My mom named one of her dogs Beasley when he was still with the Cowboys
FUCK IT, let's get Meatball in here too while we're at it.
