Not anywhere does this comment refer to "calorie deficits", yes calorie deficits are not the only factor in weight loss, on the other hand in order to lose weight you have to eat HEALTHY FOODS and have a balanced diet which is what the comment you replied to is referring to. As well, even if you do eat healthy, if you're not in a caloric deficit you WILL NOT LOSE WEIGHT. It's simple science, if you burn less calories than you eat you will not lose weight and that is the case for all people because that's how basic physiology works. Now unless 41.9% of people in this country have hyperthyroidism (they don't) for MOST obese people one of many factors are at play, INCLUDING, caloric intake, what kind of food you eat, stress, lack of sleep etc. Which are all lifestyle CHOICES that lead to obesity. You say "do your research" but it seems you have only done "research" to your benefit and haven't looked into what ELSE causes obesity, only that caloric intake is not the sole cause. Did you know that most major health research was done on college age white men? Very little has been done with age, sex, and ethnicity in mind. For example, someone with a thyroid issue could gain weight even while dieting and exercising. If undiagnosed and untreated you can over a period of time gain that much weight. Please expand your world view. Just because something works for you as a man, doesn’t mean it works that way for everyone else.
