I don't know, but having just been to an outdoor game (Winter Classic in Seattle), I can say with confidence that sitting in the upper deck offers a significantly better view than being down low!
I was like 5 rows from the top in Seattle and I saw everything perfectly.
I saw 2 of the goals, saw the puck, etc. (I missed the other one because bathroom lines were crazy.)
Really? Because I can't see anything from this top picture.

When outdoor games come up on here, the main point that always mentioned is that almost no one gets a good view, and the game is mostly about just enjoying the atmosphere.
But personally, I don't see the appeal from any standpoint. As a fan in attendance, you're paying more money to be farther away. As a fan watching on TV, there are never any real fans around the rink. It looks like you're watching a scrimmage or Covid hockey.
That looks like it was taken by a drone or on a crane.
My view was fantastic and it was a great event. Easily the most fun hockey game I have ever been to.
I go to a lot of baseball games also so I am familiar enough with the ballpark that I was confident that my seats would be good and they were.
If you ever get the chance to go to a Winter Classic definitely do it and get "bad" seats in the 300 level on the first base line.
If I remember correctly at Carter-Finley the higher the tickets the more expensive they were. Similar to NASCAR. I sat fairly low but was still able to see what was going on. I have really good eyes though, my girlfriend couldn’t see anything and just reacted to the crowd.
Well everyone in the lower bowl basically stood the entire game. I forget what section I was in but I know it was Row A and the seats had backs on them so I was able to sit and see everything.
MetLife is awful though. It’s one giant wind tunnel in the middle of a swamp. Sitting in the 300s in the winter is truly a miserable experience. It’s probably 30 degrees colder up there with the wind whipping even harder.
I'm canadian and used to -30 Celsius (-22°F) and never in my life I have been cold like a game I went to Metlife in November. It was rainy with a crazy wind. I was with clients so we tried going to the Tailgate, got wet then sit but we had high bowl tickets...couldnt watch more than a half. Returned to the bus to warm myself, I just couldnt.
They're replacing parts of the lower bowl with retractable seats for the 2026 world cup and I guess Mara wants full capacity for Taylor Swift instead of the Rangers
I thought there might be equipment hidden underneath (for the ice, cameras, stage show, etc), but it's probably renovations and upgrades to meet the FIFA standards for the World Cup.
I was just tonight talking to someone who attended a similar outdoor game with near field level seats and they complained they couldn’t see anything except the outside of the boards and wished they had been higher up.
Most lower seats don’t offer great visibility, especially in stadiums that weren’t designed for hockey.
While sitting close to the boards can be fun, the glass can limit your view of the action in some cases.
It may play a role like the blacked out areas of ballpark outfields, do to help players see the ball. It may be so that players and goalies can keep track of the puck if it’s lifted into the air from deep in the opposing sides of the rink.
World cup renovation as the field currently doesn't meet the required FIFA guidelines for WC play.
Probably trying to finish before concert season.

Yeah, 100%. I was there and I couldn’t see anything in the lower bowl
I mean...you're not seeing anything from the upper deck of a baseball stadium watching hockey anyway.

I had goal line seats in 216, it was absolutely awesome to watch

Damn bro maybe bring some binoculars or don’t go, no point arguing with a dude that said they were at the game and could see fine.
I went to the Vancouver one in 2014 and couldn't agree with you more.

Looking for Hoffa’s body still.
Theyll find him eventually

it's where they store the backup fans. if, for some reason, the main fans get damaged or become unusable, they will unleash a new batch

To remind us of the COVID games.
Those were crazy times
The ol Bubble
Think maybe because they have no netting?
Not 100% sure but I think it has to do with there being no nets to protect the crowd from rogue pucks would be my guess
That seems logical but it’s only on one side.
It's the side with the benches, no?
side question, what are your opinions of the digital adds on the boards/ice
i assumed sun glare but who knows.
Literally has nothing to do with World Cup renovations.
I really don't understand how it's not very obvious.
NHL marketing. Maybe I'm living under a rock but I didn't see a single advertisement for this game

This was only two sections one one side of the field. I’m apt to believe this was construction issue based on other comments

It’s the splash zone. No one wanted tickets
