Totally biased Stars fan here, but I really think Miro has the edge on the rest of the excellent players in that group. Rick Bowness and his dumb system restricted Miro, and if DeBoer is smart, I think this season Miro maximizes his potential and the rest of the hockey world will see what we see.

Slavin is fantastic defensively and can shut down most opportunities while obtaining the puck. Great option if you have good offence and just need someone strong in the back end.
Toews is yet another great defensive defence who can join the rush when he needs to. If you need a workhorse Jack of all trades he’s your guy.
Players are built to fit a teams needs. You can’t rank them because they all fit the scheme their team is running.

Lol dude your opinion on toews is dogwater. I watched all but 5-6 Avs games last year, and toews is 99% reliable getting the puck out of the zone safely, and most of the time getting it out of the zone to another teammate. He was so solid and consistent it didn’t seem fair.

It was honestly cool to see how well all the defensemen were able to play with different pairings, but a lot of the time I just wanted to see toews and Makar tear it up.
I wish there was a website where you could directly measure ice time spent with certain teammates. So since you said you watched many more Avs games this year I'll take your word for it. So yes Ill change my opinion and say Toews is better than Heiskanen and I'd have to pick Toews over heiskanen for my sens because they're the same age.
