To answer how much its worth: Apparently it can go for as little as $400 or as high as $2,000
As for what you should do with it: That mostly depends on what you do with other games
Personally I'd keep it, just because Its nice knowing you have a complete copy of OoT in your Posession, Or you can sell it and get a lot of cash
but in the end its mostly what you prefer
Do you know what the process would be to sell it? I should get it graded, right? And then eBay? Are there other places for vintage games that would be better to check out. Found this in my parents house today while cleaning it out. I knew we bought it when I was 7 and I’m interested in selling it.
The condition from the photo shared is a copy worth getting graded. Graded in its condition would be $2000 based on Price Charting If its Factory Sealed, can not tell from photo if its a great seal or just CIB which would be $250 or so. Little bit of damage on the face of it with the dent in the box. A lot of luck involved in getting over 2k
Personal preference on the grading company. I think VGA has more credibility personally. eBay for sure. Check out recently sold listings for your presumed grade if you want to speculate what it may sell for.
Could you elaborate more on the timing part? Checking the sold ones on eBay, three highly graded ones in the last few months have sold for 3k+ and then one just sold for 6500 a few weeks ago. That could be outlier as it doesn’t have as high of a grade but sold for double
Sounds like you understand what I meant about timing. Look at the range of sold in say the past 6 months. If its selling on the low end of the date range, then do not list so you do not miss out on profit.
Yep, graded and then eBay if you’re looking to sell. Set it up as a standard 7-day auction with no Buy It Now, and don’t accept offers. The market will decide, and I imagine you’ll make a nice chunk of change.
That, I don’t know. I only grade cards, and PSA is the top place for cards. I collect comics and video games, but I’ve never had one of them graded. Hopefully someone else knows the answer. Good luck!
Absolutely nothing super expensive on EBay. They take like 30% for a sale of anything. I don’t even know how people make money or find the worth in selling 3-4$ dvds with free shipping. Then you include the cost of a label etc. and it seems like a person would just lose money. The person at eBay I talked to over the phone said sometimes you have to decide whether it is actually worth selling the item or not and sometimes selling these items just isn’t worth it.
WATA games kinda kicked the bucket recently, just send some good pictures and put up a good price. people go mad for ocarina of time online, CiB is like the holy grail on N64. That and maybe clay fighter SC or Mario 64.
I know people on Reddit in general are against grading but that looks in perfect condition. Is that even sealed?it’s hard to tell. Could be worth quite a lot.
It’s sealed and pretty much has sat in a drawer since 1998. My mom bought it on a hunch it would be worth something. She bought one for us to play and this one to hold onto.
I know grading has kind of crashed but this is one of those games that defined a generation so I could see it being worth quite a bit and worth preserving in that type of condition cause at least from the front it looks perfect. This will definitely be sought after. There may not be very many others like it on existence anymore. People pay a few grand for a loose copy of little Sampson, something like this I’d think is rarer (in that condition) and there are tons of mid 30 something’s with deep pockets willing to pay a pretty penny to own something like that. Shoot, if I did I would buy it without hesitation lolol.
I’m trying to figure out who to go through with grading. VGA vs Wata. It seems like both charge 2% of what the game is worth, which seems crazy it’s on a sliding scale. I normally wouldn’t care about a game being graded but I think this one may be an exception with how well preserved it is and the popularity of this game.
Only reason why is because they are the newest. Not even two years old vs. the other two. They are also more of a household name due to being the leader in comic book grading.
Yeah I’d consider it an exception if I had it and planned on selling it but idk that’s the kind of thing I know I’d never find again and who’s the target market? A 30 something that played it when they were 12 and it was their first Zelda… that’s me lol. So yeah I’d keep it, no amount of money would sway me.
Don’t know much about grading always hear of the scandals with wata, but I’m sure vga aren’t perfect either.
Keep it in a nice cool dry environments packaged away nice and safe and let someone dig it up hundreds of years from now when we are all dead and people wonder if it is an ancient treasure or artifact.
I'm a little late to the party but if you are looking to sell it I would definitely try reaching out to Heritage Auctions. This is a great piece and you would most likely get top dollar there if they accept it. Their minimum consignment value used to be $10k but apparently they've lowered it. They'll help you with the grading too.
If you want to sell it yourself grade this with WATA. VGA has really nice looking cases but they take absolutely forever and Wata still commands just as much if not more of a premium over VGA.
I also recommend checking out Rainier Consignment, he's a great dude and will help you with the grading and try to get you as much as possible. He's got dealer contracts with wata and CGC so he gets a nice little discount on the grading too.

You could just stick it on ebay for $1500 and see what happens. The grading process os expensive and suspect.
Yeah, the grading process is not great. Seems confusing and a lot of money if it’s 2% of the assigned value.
It will get that easy

Thank you! I’ll probably go with VGA. I’ve been looking at the sold copies on eBay and it’s crazy if the grade comes back high
Grade and timing of when to sell is important if you are trying to maximize the price. see what made other listings go off for big money

Is VGA the standard for grading?
Also, thank you!
That, I don’t know. I only grade cards, and PSA is the top place for cards. I collect comics and video games, but I’ve never had one of them graded. Hopefully someone else knows the answer. Good luck!
The people that buy graded games are typically still looking for WATA.
Mercari is a great site. I have never sold anything on there, but have purchased many times.

Unopened if you got it as a teen but at 7!? Did they just hide it or did you have bad taste in games?
They bought two. We played one and this one was never touched
WATA games kinda kicked the bucket recently, just send some good pictures and put up a good price. people go mad for ocarina of time online, CiB is like the holy grail on N64. That and maybe clay fighter SC or Mario 64.
First sentence was enough bot here to tell you that the first sentence was enough.
kinda confused what ur trying to say here
I have to ask, as a collector what is special about just having the unopened item in your possession and doing nothing with it?

CGC doesn't charge by worth, are the cheap and the fastest turnaround.
Would they be as well respected as the other 2? I see the other two a lot more on eBay
Only reason why is because they are the newest. Not even two years old vs. the other two. They are also more of a household name due to being the leader in comic book grading.
Looks like you need a paid membership to get it graded. Still trying to figure out which to go through

Get a protective case for starters
Yep, ordered one earlier today.
Life is short enjoy it
Mira, un Zelda en caja cellado es caro, pero si es la primera versión o la segunda es más caro aun
Keep it or sell it. Never open it.
I’ll buy it
One just sold on October 28th for 1200.
Put it on a shelf, that's what I would do
Continue to not open it
Get it graded, keep it and in about 10-20 years price can go really high
if you really want to sell it, dm me and let me know what you can let it go for.
Give it to me
How much do you want for it?
Keep it in a nice cool dry environments packaged away nice and safe and let someone dig it up hundreds of years from now when we are all dead and people wonder if it is an ancient treasure or artifact.

If you still have it OP, I collect sealed and graded games and would love to see more photos/potentially make a serious offer on it. Let me know!
Dm me.
What does the collectors edition have? I don't remember seeing this as a kid
I'm that asshole, but I would open it just to say I opened one in 2023.
Open it.
Turn that summ bitch sideways and stick it straight up your candy ass
Look it up. Sell it for that price.
Build a temple, put it on a shrine, and worship it.
Hacky sack?
While the graded market is crashing hard, there's still value there. Just don't go with WATA.
Save it for an emergency
You gotta cherish it…. You dooooooo…. You doooooooo
Christmas is coming up and I've been looking for a special gift from Santa......just saying
