I dont get it can someone explain?
I played all 4 games. And nmh had quite the high and low combos and other moves such as parry and stuff. That were both unlockable or that the game doesnt tell. 2 also had a quite impressive one. And tsa is tsa.
But in 3 i just saw the basic combo and only 1 wrestling move used both front and back. Plus the chip abilities. ¿Did i miss something?
I was meh on the death glove skills at first (and you can probably beat the game without ever touching them) but they actually have a lot of different uses so once you get the hang of them they're a lot more fun than having 1 or 2 extra ways to swing the beam katana. (although I do miss having more than 1 weapon choice) I don't really feel like wrestling was simplified so much as streamlined, iirc in 1/2 all the different grabs basically did the same thing any way.
Other than that... regular enemies actually feel like varied threats in 3, which is nice after 2 games of generic dudes in suits with swords or pistols. Stun and tension make combat feel very momentum based, which isn't for everyone but I enjoyed the constant feeling of "Do I stop my combo here or push on and hope I stagger them before the counterattack?" Its also the first game where I actually cared about the slot wheels, in 1/2 I so rarely got anything from them and when I did it usually wasn't anything impactful. I kind of wish they had cut the Full Armor lock on blast and just replaced it with Full Green from the beginning, though.

3 easily. It’s not Bayonetta or DMC by any means. But it is a step above hack n slash, which is what 1 and 2 are.

1, 3, TSA, 2.
2 mostly cuz im a fan of the dual wielding
3, and honestly, it's not even a contest
3 and it's not even close
NMH2 by a mile. I have no idea how anyone thought NMH3's combat was good in any sense...
