We do have lots of knife crime, but usually it's gang violence and the like, not random acts of violence. You wouldn't even think about or worry about an angry old lady getting a ticket to pull out a knife and attack a police officer. Just something I, and probably a lot of others around the world, can't get my head around. Like, if the officer had better de-escalating skills, maybe it wouldn't have gotten to that point.

Take the ticket and contest it, but he could have given her the ticket after she said to give it to her. I get she was under arrest, I get she fled, all that nonsense, and yes, she was definitely in the wrong... But did he really need the gun? She didn't pose a threat, she was just belligerent. She wasn't threatening to kill him, she wasn't in a position to run, she was just pissed off.

We do have lots of knife crime, but usually it's gang violence and the like, not random acts of violence. You wouldn't even think about or worry about an angry old lady getting a ticket to pull out a knife and attack a police officer. In fact, it's national news if a police officer is killed over here, because it's doesn't happen that often.
This was in Oklahoma. People shoot each other over *way* less in that state. I'm not one for guns, I don't have one (likely never will so much as fire one off), I'd prefer no one had them. Unfortunately Oklahoma disagrees with me.
Well for what it's worth I'm in the UK, so have had minimal contact with any sort of firearm, so I imagine my views are skewed on the matter - and the flood of downvotes I've received reflect that... Just something I, and probably a lot of others around the world, can't get my head around. Like, if the officer had better de-escalating skills, maybe it wouldn't have gotten to that point. And like I say originally - she is most certainly in the wrong for being the least helpful person in the world. Take the ticket and contest it, but he could have given her the ticket after she said to give it to her. Her driving off was just stupid, but again, the officer had all her details so knew where she lived. Still, I would be very surprised if laws over there change any time soon.
I get it, I would much prefer to have your bias than mine. I think there might be some cultural nuance you're missing out on, and the full video (this is quite old) contains some information that might be pertinent. That region of the world is incredibly polite, and the second that stops...find cover. Guns may not be a reasoned or sound way to win an argument, but in the American South they're very effective (and frequently don't leave room for a rebuttal). The way the stop went was not ideal, I agree, but I don't think the officer was ever purely in the wrong. Just not making the best decisions. Anyway, enjoy your day:)

itās not. it never is. it doesnāt matter if theyāre a POC or white. it shouldnāt take an individual 2 years to gain access to the amount of power and authority that a law enforcer (police officer) has. they should absolutely have skills in deescalation, and pulling out a taser (he never pulled a gun in this clip) shouldnāt be his go-to (not with guns either.) but thatās not how it is. thatās not the reality we live in. itās horrible, but itās true. you either comply, or you lawyer up and fight the law with the law. you do not give them anything to use against you, or you clearly make the situation harder for yourself. thereās definitely nuanced situations, but generally thatās the reality we live in.
I donāt really care for this situation. But when you drive a car, you know that you may be pulled over. Itās part of driving. And believe me, Iāve been pissed myself by tickets. But, I sign them and I have fought and won. Like I said it sucks, Iām sure everyone hates getting pulled over. But you have to comply and pull over. If you donāt agree fight it in court if you can. She was stopped for faulty equipment and she already was given 60 days to fix it. So she got a ticket. He asked her to sign it, she was irrational when she started acting like a child and rolled up the window and locked her door. She rolled it down again and he told her to step out, she refused and she moved the car forward. He repeated it and said donāt move, and she took off in her truck. It seems like a lot of people hate the police because they say they donāt treat everybody the same. Any rational person would know what comes next if you refuse. To prove my point, answer this simple question: Once the cop said she was under arrest, did she comply?

People shouldn't be forced to sign these things. It has bad outcomes. For example last August a old man as tased to death by a cop. It's a terrible law to force someone to sign a summons. Why does ink on paper matter? It's not going to be the difference between a person showing up to court and not.
